Luxury yacht EXCELLENCE from Abeking & Rasmussen was launched in 2019 with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure measuring 80m/262.5ft. The naval architecture also comes from the shipyard, while the interior and exterior styling comes from renowned British studio Winch Design. The accommodation sleeps a maximum of 12 guests over seven en-suite cabins with a crew of 22 for expert service.

The lower deck swim platform provides a sunbathing area close to the water complete with two sofa/sunbeds. There is access to the beach club through the large aft door, and two staircases sweep up to the main deck aft.

The main deck aft boasts a large swimming pool with sofa sunbeds on both sides and bar seating on the forward side. A stairway leads to the bridge deck aft, where there is a sunbed and bar aft, a casual alfresco drinking and dining setting to starboard where a sofa is integrated along the gunwale. There is room in the centre for an alfresco dining table for up to 12 guests.

The Owner's deck exterior is separated into a forward section and an aft section. The forward section joins onto the Master suite and offers a sofa in the shade to enjoy the views and the fresh sea air. The aft section joins onto the Owner's lounge and has an abundance of sofa/sunbeds along the stern and a Jacuzzi in the centre.

The sundeck above can be accessed via the internal stairway or lift/elevator. The forward section boasts a massive Jacuzzi and has forward sofa seating and an aft bar around its sides. One more casual social area is created by placing a curving sofa along the stern, another sofa opposite and a coffee table in between.

The lower deck layout contains the crew accommodation, aft of which is the beach club with fold-down side terraces.

On the main deck the forward section contains the gym and spa with massage room, along with a cinema to port. The guest accommodation is amidships, with the aft section containing the formal dining area and salon. The former area seats up to 12 guests in a sumptuous light-filled environment finished to the highest quality, matched by an aft circular seating area consisting of sofas, armchairs and side tables around a large coffee table.

The bridge deck provides corner seating in the helm station for guests to enjoy the forward views in any weather within an air conditioned environment. Behind is the Captain's cabin and technical spaces, followed by the foyer and the office convertible into a staff cabin, and then the skylounge. This light and airy social space offers a similar setup to the main salon with large sofas and armchairs around a coffee table, plus an additional two armchairs and a side table on both the port and starboard sides.

Above, the Owner's deck places the Master suite forward where the occupants have the advantage of 180 degree views. Amidships is the foyer and crew spaces, and the aft private lounge provides a laid-back setting of a couple of armchairs and a sofa around a coffee table.

EXCELLENCE Specifications

The lift/elevator provides access all the way up to the sundeck, where there is a foyer, day head and technical spaces in addition to the outdoor areas.

Twin MTU 12V 4000 Diesel engines provide a top speed of 16.8 knots, a cruising speed of 13 knots and an extensive cruising range of 4,400 nautical miles.

Yacht Accommodation

The accommodation sleeps a total of 12 guests across 7 en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite and 6 double cabins. ~The Master suite is situated forward on the Owner's private deck and enjoys 180 degree views from the super king-sized bed. The room also contains a widescreen TV, a desk, day bed, a sitting area comprised of two armchairs and a side table, plenty of storage and aft en-suite his-and-hers bathrooms that both have a sink, toilet, shower and bathtub. ~The double cabins are all placed forward of amidships on the main deck for the advantages of better views and more sunlight. Each bedroom contains a double bed, a widescreen TV, desk/vanity, plenty of wardrobe space and an en-suite bathroom with a sink, toilet and shower. ~The expert crew of 22 will take care of every little detail.

Motor Yacht

Excellence is a futuristic 80m collaboration between Abeking and Rasmussen and Winch Design.

The team at Winch Design have dreamt up a superstructure so unique that she promises to be unlike anything that has ever come before. Her striking and angular reverse bow cuts assertively through the ocean waters, offering a silhouette comparable to a spaceship. Her exterior lines draw the eye up to the bridge and owner’s decks which are surrounded on all sides by curved floor-to-ceiling mirrored glass, the largest panel a staggering 6m in length. The statement glass reaches 180 degrees around the master suite meaning that sleeping guests can wake up in the morning fully immersed in their peaceful surroundings. The interior of Excellence, also penned by Winch Design, is a fitting match for her iconic exterior.

Providing the perfect opportunity for indulgent relaxation, she features a swimming pool and platform, as well as jacuzzi, sprawling beach club and impressive limousine tenders. Ensuring that when anchored she is as smooth as a spaceship floating in orbit, she is fitted with 'zero speed stabilizers' which work when the yacht is stationary, providing maximum comfort even when cruising through rough waters. Excellence smashes the mould and promises to turn as many heads in 20 years’ time as she does today. Introducing the 80m ultimate explorer concept by Vitruvius Yachts

The London-based design studio Vitruvius Yachts has revealed the first details of its latest superyacht concept: an 80m go-anywhere explorer yacht.

With the design following closely in the footsteps of Vitruvius’ 54.9-metre Shinkai – built by Feadship in the Netherlands and delivered in 2021 – this new explorer is notable for its long aft deck which is ideal for storing a generous toy collection or even a helipad.

Designed to satisfy the most active and adventurous of owners, the explorer boasts a vast beach club and health centre below deck, enabling direct and convenient access to the sea for water sports.

This new vessel represents Vitruvius’ take on the ideal explorer superyacht. She maintains her superyacht DNA through the innovative design of her exterior, as well as through the exceptional space and comfort which are offered by her interior. She is also a true explorer through and through, and will have an exceptional autonomous range of 6500 nautical miles to take her owners anywhere in the world.

Housing 12 guests across a total of 6 carefully-designed staterooms, the naval architecture of the vessel is informed by the success of Vitruvius’ previous explorer vessel, Shinkai, with her steel hull created for optimal efficiency and adhering to the latest industry criteria for sustainability.

With performance and onboard comfort key to the new explorer vessel – she is expected to reach a top speed of 19 knots and cruise with ease at 14 knots – special care has also been given to controlling any rolling motions on board – a trait which is also key for ease of launching her onboard toys such as submarines. Furthermore, the addition of gyro/fin stabilisers is also in consideration for the vessel.

Finally, owners can also decide to choose an observatory option for the expedition superyacht, which would provide a 22-square metre space to bring those on board even closer to the beauties of the night sky, wherever they might find themselves in the world.

The Abeking and Rasmussen Excellence

The Abeking and Rasmussen Excellence 80m motor yacht built by Abeking & Rasmussen in 2019 is a technical masterpiece. She is the sixth yacht to bear the name “Excellence” and is the culmination of her owner’s previous yacht-building experience. 

Abeking & Rasmussen are well known for building some of the world’s most notable yachts, including:

• Aviva (2017) is a 98.4-meter (323 ft) motor yacht built for British billionaire Joe Lewis. She is the 46th longest yacht in the world and features exterior design by Espen Øino and interior design by Reymond Langton Design. Aviva has a top speed of 24 knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
• Cloudbreak (2019) is an 85-meter (279 ft) motor yacht built for an American business person. She features exterior design by Espen Øino and interior design by Bannenberg & Rowell. Cloudbreak has a top speed of 21 knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
• Sea Cloud Spirit (2021) is a 54-meter (177 ft) sailing yacht built for Sea Cloud Cruises. She is the successor to the original Sea Cloud, built in 1936. Sea Cloud Spirit features exterior design by Dykstra Naval Architects and interior design by Redman Whiteley Dixon. She has a top speed of 15 knots and a range of 3,500 nautical miles.
• Sphinx (2011) is a 70-meter (230 ft) motor yacht built for an American businessperson. She features exterior design by Espen Øino and interior design by Reymond Langton Design. Sphinx has a top speed of 22 knots and a range of 5,000 nautical miles.
• Silver Shalis (1987) is a 30-meter (98 ft) jet boat built for an American businessperson. She was the first yacht powered by water jets, which allowed her to reach speeds of up to 60 knots. Silver Shalis features exterior design by Ron Holland and interior design by Donald Starkey.

Reymond Langton Design is a British yacht design studio that has been in business since 2001 and has been involved with the interior and exterior design of many notable yachts such as the Serene (2011), a 134-meter (439 ft) motor yacht, Octopus (2003) a 126-meter (413 ft) motor yacht Mogambo (2008) a 73.5-meter (241 ft) motor yacht, and Apostrophe (2006) a 40-meter (131 ft) motor yacht, and more.

The Abeking and Rasmussen Excellence 80m Motor Yacht can accommodate up to 14 guests in seven cabins, including a master suite, a VIP suite, and five double cabins. The guest cabins all have en-suite bathrooms and large windows that offer panoramic views. The yacht also has accommodation for 20 crew members.

Heesen deliver 80m superyacht GENESIS to her new owner

Dutch shipyard Heesen has successfully delivered the stunning 80m (262ft) superyacht GENESIS to her new owner, setting a new benchmark for the yard as the biggest yacht they have built to date.

Surpassing the previous record holders of Galactica Super Nova at 70m (229.6ft) and charter yacht ILLUSION at 65m (213ft), the new flagship is a custom-built motor yacht with design collaborations from Van Oossanen Naval Architects, Winch Design, and Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design. Embodying the classic, sporty DNA of the Heesen fleet, GENESIS is undeniably a true Heesen superyacht but with a contemporary and almost futuristic twist on previous builds.

Sporting a six-cabin layout, superyacht GENESIS hosts an army of indulgent features and amenities including a fully certified touch-and-go helipad that can also transform into an outdoor cinema, a glass-bottomed swimming pool, abundant exterior deck space for socializing and relaxing in the Mediterranean sun, plus an on-deck Jacuzzi and WiFi connectivity.

Enabling the owner and their guests seamless access to the sea, motor yacht GENESIS has a generous beach club environment with a wet bar, in addition to plenty of storage for adrenaline-fuelled water toys.

Currently, it is not expected that M/Y GENESIS will be made available for charter. However, if you’re interested in chartering a yacht of a similar caliber, you can view and compare all  Heesen superyachts for charter .
