Bering 145 is the first fully customized superyacht in the Bering fleet. Designed by an in-house team of naval architects and engineers, she has a full displacement steel hull of 514 metric tons. As a result of the vessel’s specialized stabilization systems, the B145 provides a supremely comfortable ride with minimal rolling and ultimate stability.

The B145 superyacht features a hybrid propulsion system. The propeller is driven by electric motors charged by a bank of batteries. The banks are recharged by high-efficiency, variable-speed DC generators, making docking and mooring easy in the electric mode. The Bering 145 also boasts an enormous fuel capacity of 70,000 liters (18,492 gallons). Equipped with twin CAT C-32 1200 BHP @ 1800-2100 RPM engines, she has a range of more than 4,000 nautical miles in diesel mode at a minimum cruising speed of 12 knots. Bering 145, a 45-meter superyacht, is the new flagship of the Bering Yachts fleet. This transoceanic model, which combines elegance, speed, and the latest technology, will be ready for delivery in two years.

Bering 145 is the first fully customized superyacht in the Bering fleet. Designed by an in-house team of naval architects and engineers, it has a full displacement steel hull of 514 metric tons.

The superyacht features a hybrid propulsion system. The propeller is driven by electric motors charged by a bank of batteries. The banks are recharged by high-efficiency, variable speed DC generators. Docking and mooring is possible in the electric mode. Bering 145 can take on the most extreme cruising itinerary. The superyacht has an enormous fuel capacity: 70.000 L (18.492 gal.). It can travel more than 4,000 nautical miles in diesel mode at a minimum cruising speed of 12 knots. The maximum speed of the vessel is 15 knots.

Bering 145 features a highly functional layout on a 9.15-meter beam. The master stateroom is located on the main deck toward the bow, with glass windows measuring more than 9.5 square meters. Additionally, there are five guest rooms. A huge saloon with a dining area for 12 persons and a lounge area are located on the main deck. Another dining table is on the upper deck, in the sky lounge. The yacht has 4 crew staterooms and the captain quarter. Total crew capacity is 9.

The lower deck includes 32 square meters of storage space for equipment such as water toys and spare parts. Also, the superyacht is equipped with several tenders that can be placed on the upper deck. This vessel represents a fully equipped 145' Christensen with several upgrades that have become a trademark of the Christensen yacht family. She features an on-deck master stateroom with office, and four staterooms located midship on the lower deck, all with spacious ensuite heads. Luxurious high- gloss painted wood with recessed lighting is featured throughout. With a large aft deck, spacious sky lounge for entertaining and sun deck with Jacuzzi tub and bar, she is ideal for entertaining family and friends, or for charter.

Entering the main salon through the aft deck, one quickly realizes the extensive amount of space for guests to relax and enjoy themselves in. An exquisite combination of wood, fabrics, stones and carpet are featured throughout. The seating area offers a large sofa, love seat, and two chairs centered around a large coffee table of etched glass and marquetry. The AV Entertainment System is complete with Crestron control and Lutron "One Touch" electrical lighting. To create the open concept feel, custom madrona wood columns flank a glass panel etched with shell detail, and the tops of the columns feature metal palm fronds separating the salon and dining area without blocking them off from each other.

DINING AREA

The formal dining area features a huge rectangular table custom made in Holland, which comfortably fits 10 adults in large, plush seats. Port and starboard, buffet cabinets offer ample storage for fine china, cutlery and tableware. A custom painting between the galley and dining area can be lowered to reveal a glass window allowing guests to choose to see through to the galley or for privacy during meals.

The galley, just forward of the dining area and to port, features light-tone marble and neutral creme cabinetry done in a tasteful country-French style decor, giving the galley a comfortable, inviting atmosphere. The custom hood above the stove features a custom light blue "under the sea" tile design. With a large window that allows an abundance of sunshine, light granite counters throughout, two large sinks and plenty of storage, this galley is a Chef's dream. Additional features include a built-in Miele coffee espresso machine, counter top grill, Alto-Shaam smoker, and sizeable pantry just forward of the galley with tons of refrigeration and freezer space.

MAIN DECK FOYER

Starboard to the galley is the main deck foyer with an intricate sole detail comprised of hand-chipped glass pieces and madrona wood inlays that are in turn arranged on a mirrored surface, lending depth and sparkle to the overall design. Spiral glass staircases lead to the main guest area on the lower deck and to the sky lounge on the bridge deck. The day head features a glass sink with toilet, and custom artwork on the walls.

MASTER STATEROOM

The full-beam master stateroom, located forward on the main deck, features an office to starboard, vanity, king size bed, sofa, and two huge walk-in closets with a washer/dryer. High-gloss painted surfaces and natural wood highlight the room, and the king-size bed is framed with silk bulkhead panels, headboards and accessories which soften the look and flow of the room. The ensuite head is adorned with hand chipped glass detail throughout, towel warmers, and granite counters inlaid with fiber optics that, when turned on, glow from beneath. The walk-in shower separates the "his" from "hers" side and boasts a waterfall feature that literally spills water out so gently and smoothly it's the envy of many a yacht owner.

GUEST STATEROOMS

Located midship on the lower deck is a guest foyer with marble flooring and chipped glass detail, with four guest staterooms forward of the engine room. The two queen staterooms are located aft to port and starboard with plenty of space allowing for guests to walk around the beds, and the two twin staterooms are located forward with beds large enough to accommodate adults. All four staterooms boast spacious ensuite heads with large showers, ample counter space and intricate marble detail. Silk panels and high gloss painted wood are featured throughout the cabins.

Upped Deck Salon

Located on the bridge deck, the sky lounge features several custom features including reflective zodiac symbols on the shimmering overheads. The sky lounge also features a fully equipped bar with etched glass detail, and four large seats to accommodate guests. Plush carpet is located throughout, as well as an entertainment center with surround sound cinema and a 50" plasma TV. A large seating area and coffee table create an inviting space for guests to relax and enjoy themselves. There is a day head just forward of the sky lounge with a glass sink, marble floor and etched glass detail.

Aft of the sky lounge is a covered deck with a large circular table for 10 to enjoy al fresco dining. To port and starboard aft are small, intimate seating areas for private occasions. A large wet bar with sink, refrigerator and ice maker are also featured to starboard of the dining table.

Forward of the sky lounge is the pilot house, adorned in a soft light blue tone with beautiful teak flooring. Two captain's chairs, a settee and table offer ample space for crew and guests to enjoy cruising to new destinations. The Captain's cabin with ensuite head is located just off the bridge for easy access during long trips and for additional comfort and privacy from the crew area.

Forward of the bridge is an oversized sun pad that will accommodate four or more adults. Speakers on either side of the sun pad allow guests to enjoy music while relaxing on the bow.

The Sun deck is accessed midship starboard side via a wide staircase from the bridge deck. A sizable Jacuzzi hot tub easily sits 10 adults and the large bar with six barstools features a Rum Runner machine for constant frozen beverage service. There is ample guest seating, and two captains chairs are forward for steering from the top deck. One of the yacht's two tenders plus two PWC Seadoos are stored aft of the hard top. There is also a large chef's grill to starboard, and the davit is located port aft.

The aft deck ofers a covered, spacious area for relaxing, dining and entertaining. With a large teak table with seating for 10 guests, and a fully equipped bar with three swivel seats, the aft deck is a great space for family and friends. Boarding the yacht can be done via port and starboard boarding gates, and the swim platform and/or bridge deck can both be accessed via a staircase located on the starboard side.

SWIM PLATFORM

The Swim Platform "Beach Club" is an enormous space ideal for lounging or used as a base for water sports activities. Two large umbrellas provide ample shade or can be easily removed for full sunshine. Access to the engine room is also located here.

ENGINE ROOM

With beautiful fire engine red engines, gold-tone diamond plate, air conditioning, control room with office, and a sizable lazzerette with dive compressor, the engine room area is surely one-of-a-kind.

The crew area is located forward of the main guest area, with three upper/lower cabins for up to eight crew members (including the double in the Captain's cabin). There is a sizable crew table with a small galley, pantry, TV, laundry room and access to the main guest area via a hidden door.

New bering 145 explorer yacht announced.

This 44m motor yacht comes with a range of 12,000 nautical miles with a fuel capacity of 95,600 liters at a speed of 9 knots in the hybrid mode. In the diesel mode, the vessel has a range of 4,500 nautical miles at 8 knots. The Bering 145 has a top speed of 15 knots.

The full-displacement yacht is an in-house design by the naval architects and engineers of Bering Yachts and is currently under construction and for sale.

Mike Lynch, one of the UK’s best-known tech entrepreneurs, is among those missing after a luxury yacht sank off the coast of Sicily in bad weather. Lynch, the former chief executive of Autonomy, was acquitted of criminal charges by a jury in San Francisco in June, vindicating the 59-year-old entrepreneur after a 12-year legal battle over the software group’s $11bn sale to Hewlett-Packard in 2011. Among the passengers on Lynch’s 56-metre yacht Bayesian were members of his legal team and their families, who had been invited on the trip to celebrate the courtroom victory. Jonathan Bloomer, chair of insurance group Hiscox and Morgan Stanley International, who appeared at the trial as a witness for the defence, was also on board and is one of those missing, according to local Italian authorities and people familiar with the matter. Hiscox chief executive Aki Hussain said the company was “deeply shocked and saddened” by events. “Our thoughts are with all those affected, in particular our chair, Jonathan Bloomer, and his wife Judy, who are among the missing, and with their family as they await further news from this terrible situation.” Christopher Morvillo of law firm Clifford Chance, who represented Lynch, is also missing. Six guests in total are missing and one member of the crew is confirmed dead. Another Clifford Chance lawyer, Ayla Ronald, was among 15 of the 22 guests and crew who the authorities said were rescued from the stricken vessel. Lynch ’s 18-year-old daughter Hannah is also missing while his wife Angela Bacares was rescued. Gary Lincenberg, an attorney who represented Chamberlain in the case, said Autonomy’s former vice-president of finance, whom he described as a “courageous man with unparalleled integrity”, had been fatally struck by a car while out running on Saturday. Following the courtroom verdict, Lynch had said he was “elated” and was “looking forward to returning to the UK and getting back to what I love most: my family and innovating in my field”. David Yelland, a communications adviser who worked with Lynch, said: “To think Mike Lynch might have lost his life just as he began to rebuild it is devastating for all those that know him. His entire life is one of beating the odds in the most extraordinary of situations, we must pray he does so again.”  A spokesperson for Lynch declined to comment. The Italian coast guard said Bayesian sank to a depth of approximately 50 metres off the coast of Palermo. Giuseppe D’Agostino, mayor of Santa Flavia, a village on the coast close to where the vessel sank, said the search had not stopped. “The community is shaken. Everyone is helping,” he told the Financial Times. “I spoke to some survivors. They are shocked. They didn’t have the strength to speak,” he added. Another survivor was Charlotte Golunski, a partner at Lynch’s venture firm Invoke Capital, along with her husband James Emsilie and one-year-old daughter. She told Italian media that her family had left their cabin during the storm and headed for the deck. Records indicate that Lynch’s family-owned the yacht. Bayesian is owned by Isle of Man-registered company Revtom Limited, according to shipping database Equasis. Isle of Man filings show that Bacares is the sole shareholder of Revtom. The Sunday Times rich list estimated Lynch’s family fortune at £500mn earlier this year. The name Bayesian is likely to be a reference to the 18th-century English statistician Thomas Bayes, whose theory of statistics informed the search technology behind Autonomy’s software. The yacht had been anchored at the small Italian island of Panarea, according to MarineTraffic, a boat tracking site. It then passed through the Aeolian Islands on its way to Palermo before being hit by what has been described as a “tornado”. Luca Cari, a spokesperson for the Italian fire department, said divers and other rescue workers had been working at the scene since Monday morning. “We arrived when the ship had already sunk,” he said, adding that the operation was complicated by the depth to which the boat had sunk. Cari said the body had been recovered outside the shipwreck. He declined to identify the victim. The UK’s Department for Transport said the UK’s Marine Accident Investigation Branch was deploying a team of four inspectors to Palermo to conduct a “preliminary assessment into the foundering”. The UK will lead the investigation because the vessel was flying the British flag.
