Had the best time with my friends! Scott was great, so nice and showed us some cool places. Boat was awesome and very clean. Would recommend Scott to everyone!

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! Those are the first two words that described our time with Captain Scot and First Mate Cole. This was a Father’s Day surprise from my wife as we've been looking at boats and in particular the Sea Hunt line. Communication was seamless and the charter began on time. First Mate Cole helped our daughter catch two fishes, which everyone celebrated. Captain Scot was very knowledgeable with the waters and the area. He knew where to take us so we could continue enjoying the day once the weather turned slightly. The day included also included cruising the bay and some more R&R at the sandbar. The boat is a beautiful 24 ft Sea Hunt that is meticulously cared for. It handled extremely well. As mentioned before, Florida weather did what Florida weather does during this time of year. The weather changed slightly which presented slightly stronger winds, 1-2ft waves with white caps. It wasn’t drastic but at no point did we feel unsafe and had a dry ride, minus a few sprinkles that our daughter loved. Do Not hesitate with booking this crew. You will be in good hands and have an Incredible time. Thanks again Captain Scot and First Mate Cole. - The Eason Family

Can not say enough good about our trip onboard Capt. Scott’s “yacht”!! What a beautiful boat !Scott was professional, knowledgeable , and courteous and very easy going! This was, hands down, the best boat rental experience I’ve ever had. I’ve rented center consoles, pontoons and deck boats from companies up and down both coasts of Florida and Eric is the best. The boat was in great shape. The customer service and communication was top notch. I don’t have a single negative thing to say about this experience. I’m already planning next year’s rental from Eric.

Oleg was extremely professional, easy to communicate with and boat was just as described. Everything was clean and operative. There is a toilet available for emergencies. This center console was extremely spacious and fit our party of 11 comfortably. Enjoyed a relaxing day out on the water at Ted Sperling and the surrounding islands of Lido and Longboat Key. Will 100% return in the future, thank you!

Oleg was excellent. Very good communicator and wastes no time. Met at the boat. Ran through the systems and felt very comfortable with the whole process. The boat ran flawlessly and all systems worked. Boat handled the gulf well. Sound system is awesome and marine radio as well worked perfectly to contact the bridge operators. Highly recommend his SeaFox vessel and will most likely book again.

Where to look for that first “bite” of partial eclipse ("V")

We’ve called this value “V”, because that’s what astronomers call it. If you imagine the Sun’s disk as a clock face, this is the hour hand value of where to look on that “clock” to see that very first little bite that the Moon is taking! (Remember, you must use eclipse glasses to look at the Sun at this time!)

Who will be the first to see that bite and shout “ First Contact! ”?

Time of Mid-eclipse

This is when the maximum amount of the Sun's disk is covered. Also given in UT and you can convert it if you like.

Mid-eclipse time

The midpoint of totality. Again given in UT.

Eclipse Magnitude

The amount of the Sun's disk that is covered at the time of mid-eclipse. (Measured as a percentage of the Sun's diameter, not area!)

Altitude and azimuth of the Sun at the time of mid-eclipse

This will let you know where the Sun will be in the sky during mid-eclipse, so you can check to make sure that trees, buildings or mountains won’t be in your way. (You can also go outside to your planned viewing location on the day before the eclipse at eclipse time and check it out yourself. The Sun’s location in the sky at that time won’t change enough in one day for you to notice the difference.)

Altitude is given in degrees. The horizon is at 0°, and straight up is 90°. So 45° would be exactly halfway up, 30° would be 1/3 of the way up, and 60° would be 2/3 of the way up. Anything in between is, well, in between!

Azimuth is given as an angle so you can tell exactly where the Sun will be, and here are some references: 90° is due east, 180° is due south, and 270° is due west. So, if you see 200°, that’s a bit less than 1/3 of the way from due south to due west. 135° would be straight southeast.

They are equipped with a dependable 70HP Suzuki, and a bimini top for plenty of shade.

The 24’ Berkshire Pontoon Boat holds up to 10 people max, with ample room to enjoy a day on the water. Sit back, relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the Bay. This boat has a 115 hp 4-stroke Suzuki motor to ensure smooth cruising as you explore the waters of Sarasota Bay. The bimini top offers plenty of shade.

Our largest rental option, the 27’ Berkshire Pontoon Boat, holds up to 14 people, offering plenty of space to walk around, comfortable seating, and a bimini top for shade. Perfect for a leisurely cruise on the Bay or Intracoastal waterway with friends or family, its dependable 140HP Four Stroke Suzuki is quiet and fuel efficient, ensuring a relaxing adventure. The bimini top offers plenty of shade.

CB’s Boat Rentals (half day & full day) are for cruising, fishing, picnicking, or enjoying the sites that Siesta Key, Sarasota, Longboat Key and her surrounding areas have to offer. The route has beach accesses, sightseeing destinations, and famous restaurants like the Casey Key Fish House, the Crow’s Nest, Marina Jack’s and the Old Salty Dog.

About Your Captain and Boat

Welcome aboard! My name is Mike Nix and I look forward to being your Captain for the day. My goal is to ensure a safe and fun time on the water. I have been boating since the age of 13 and am a USCG licensed Master Captain. You will enjoy your day on our roomy 25 ft Cobalt 25SC Deck Boat. There is ample space for everyone to sit comfortably and maneuver around the boat on your private charter. With the Bimini top up, there is plenty of shaded seating.  The boat is equipped with a bluetooth stereo system, so you can listen to your favorite play list. There is also a portable head and fresh water rinsing station to wash away the saltwater. There is plenty of cooler space and I provide the extra ice. I will work hard to create a charter that you, your family and friends will remember.  Enjoy and leave your worries at the dock!
