Exactly How To Get The Room You Want At Disney Resorts
January 20, 2020 // by Sarah Etinas // Leave a Comment
Looking for a guide on exactly how to make Disney World resort room requests? This article gives you everything you need to know to get the room you want at the Walt Disney World Resorts. After reading this article, you’ll know exactly what to ask for and how to ask for your Disney World resort room requests!
When you stay at a Walt Disney World Resort, you can make certain requests for your room, such as view types or floor levels. While these requests are not guaranteed, they are often fulfilled, as the Disney cast members aim to make your stay as magical and enjoyable as possible!

Understanding The Difference Between Disney Booking Categories And Disney Room Requests
The main difference between a booking category and a request is that a booing category is guaranteed, but a request is not. For example, if you select a room within the booking category of “lake view,” you can be 100% sure that you’ll get a room with a lake view. This specific room view reservation will cost more than a “standard view” booking category room.
An alternative, you can book a “standard view” room at a lower price and then request a room with a better view. However, unlike the booking category option, simply requesting a better room will not guarantee that you will get a better room. It’ll just let the Disney cast members know that, if possible, you would like a room with a better view.
Which Disney Room Views Are The Best?
There are many room views to choose from at each Disney World Resort, and the options vary by resort. For example, the breathtaking savanna view rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge are only available at that resort. That said, there are a few room view options that you should requests if they are available at your resort, including lake view, theme park view, and pool view. Another room option to request is a preferred room, as these rooms often come with fantastic views and short walks to all of the Disney Resort’s amenities.
Prioritize Your Disney World Resort Room Requests
You’ll want to prioritize just two to three Disney World Resort room requests. If there are too many requests, they may be impossible to manage. As a matter of fact, even if you only have two Disney World resort room requests, be sure to prioritize which one you want more! For example, say you request a room with a view and one on a high floor, but the Disney World Resort does not have a room with both. If you specify which of these two requests you prefer, you’ll likely get the one you prefer if it is available.
There are quite a few things to consider when making room requests at Disney, such as the following questions:
Where is the room located in comparison to the dining and buses?
Is the room on the ground floor or on a higher floor?
Would you prefer a room on the ground floor for stroller or wheelchair access?
Would you like a specific view?
Would you prefer a room near the elevators?
Just as a reminder, if you book a room with the view that you want, there is no need to request that view as well! It’s already guaranteed. Instead, you can use your request to ask for a room on a higher or lower floor, depending on your family’s preference.
Lastly, know that every guest and EVERY Disney resort can request the following items:
Handicap-Accessible Room
Connecting Rooms (limited availability)
Microwaves (limited availability)
Exactly How To Make A Disney World Room Request
There are quite a few ways to make your Disney World Resort room requests.
Online through My Disney Experience up to 60 days in advance
Call in your requests
Fax over your requests
Making Room Requests Online
To make Disney World resort room requests online, you’ll have to do it through My Disney Experience . Your first step is to sign in to your My Disney Experience account. If you don’t already have one, then you’ll need to create an account, which is a pretty straightforward process.
Then, once you’re logged in, you’ll click on the My Disney Experience button in the top right corner. From the drop-down list, select “My Reservations and Tickets.” This will redirect you to your Walt Disney World resort reservation. If it does not appear, you’ll simply link your reservation using the “Link Resort Reservation” button. Then, once you can see your reservation, you’ll click the blue button that says “Update Check-In.”
This will redirect you to a page with a few details that you can add to your vacation before checking in. Instead of focusing on those, you’ll want to shift your attention to the right side of the screen where it says, “show details.” Click on that.
Then, all of the boxes with the aforementioned details will expand, allowing you to make changes. About halfway down, one of the details says, “Room Location Requests.” This is where you can request your room to be on a high or low floor, in a specific tower, with a specific view, or near specific amenities. You are limited to two of these types of Disney room requests. There is also a box to check if you would like your room to be ready before the usual 4 p.m. check-in time.
To finish making your requests, check the “I Agree” box at the bottom of the page.
After a few minutes, you’ll automatically return back to the My Reservations page, where it’ll now say, “You’re All Set.” That said, you’ll still be able to make changes if you would like by following this same process.
Making Room Requests on the Phone
To make your room requests over the phone, you’ll want to call 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639). This is one way to make requests that are not listed as options on My Disney Experience. You can call ahead and ask for your requests within five days of your arrival.
Do know that many guests have had difficulties making their reservations over the phone and have often been redirected several times. If that does happen to you, consider making your room requests either through My Disney Experience or over fax.
Faxing Room Requests to Disney
Surprisingly, Disney guests have had a lot of success faxing their room requests over to their Disney resorts – sometimes even more success that requests made over the phone! Since you likely don’t have a fax machine at your disposal, Disney makes it easy for you to “fax” your requests to them without actually having a fax machine.
First, create your “fax” on a Word Document. Instead of thinking about it as a fax, it may be easier to think about it as a letter or an email. Be sure to include the name of the resort you are sending it to, the resort’s fax number, your name, your cell phone number and email address, and a subject (e.g. “room request”) before getting to your requests. When writing your requests, try to keep them brief, yet friendly!
From there, all you have to do to “fax” your Disney World room requests is upload it to faxzero.com ! This website will send your requests off to Disney for you. Try to send your requests five to seven days before the start of your stay.
While the vast majority of the Disney World resorts do take requests by fax, the following hotels do NOT take fax requests: Disney’s Beach Club Villas, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn, Disney’s Boardwalk Villas, Disney’s Old Key West Resort, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and the Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge.
Best Room Requests At Deluxe Resorts

To get exactly the room you want at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, there are a few tips that you can put to use. First, because Stormalong Bay is the best and most popular pool on the Walt Disney World Resort property, many of the rooms with a water view can be quite noisy! If you’re looking for a bit of quiet, consider requesting a garden or woods view room instead.
Another tip for a fantastic stay at this Walt Disney World Resort is to request a full balcony. Approximately half of the rooms at Disney’s Beach Club Resorts have extremely small balconies, while the other half have full-sizes ones. If this is important to you, be sure to request a full balcony!
Disney’s Boardwalk Inn And Villas
Packed with Coney Island and Atlantic City influence, Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas is filled with fun! Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas is situated directly on the Disney Boardwalk, so you won’t be far from all of the traditional boardwalk highlights, including surrey bikes and funnel cakes.
There are a variety of room options available at Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas.

Now it’s time for Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas tips! First, because Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas is very close to Epcot, request a room on the highest floor possible to have a chance of seeing IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth, the Epcot night show. Second, since Disney’s Boardwalk is quite large, it would be wise to request a room closer to the elevator, or else you may find yourself walking quite a distance to get to your room.
Disney’s Yacht Club
Disney’s Yacht Club resort is the posh counterpart of Disney’s Beach Club Resort. With the same access to Stormalong Bay and fantastic dining options as Disney’s Beach Club Resort, the only real difference between the two is the slightly more nautical, classy vibes of Disney’s Yacht Club. There isn’t all that much to request at Disney’s Yacht Club, besides specific view types. Just like Disney’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas, consider asking for a higher room to catch a glimpse of the fireworks.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
As one of the best Disney World resorts of all time , Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has so much to offer. From overwater bungalows to island-inspired dining options, you’ll surely feel like you’ve been transported to a tropical paradise in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
There are a variety of room options available at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

A great request to make at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is for a view upgrade, particularly to a room with a theme park view, if possible. Then, you may be able to catch a glimpse of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. As an alternative request, ask for a balcony, as rooms on the second floor of nearly every tower do not have balconies.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge And Villas
Calling all animal lovers! Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Villas is for you! Known for its savanna view rooms with stunning views of giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Villas is definitely a one-of-a-kind accommodation. Check Rates on Hotels.com

As a tip, know that there is quite a limited number of standard view rooms, so there’s a good chance that, even if you book a standard view room, you’ll be upgraded to a savanna room. However, if a savanna room is a must for you and your family, it may be wiser to simply book a savanna room. This is by far one of the coolest Disney World resort room requests.
Another important thing to note about the savanna rooms is that each savanna showcases different animals. While giraffes can be found on all three savannas, zebras live only on the Arusha Savanna, ostriches live only on the Sunset Savanna, and kudu live only on the Uzima Savanna. In other words, if there is a specific animal that you want to see, request a room with a view of a specific savanna.
Lastly, know that the ground floor rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge & Villas do not have balconies. If that is a feature that you would like, request a room on a higher floor.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort And Bay Lake Tower
As one of the original Disney World resorts, Disney’s Contemporary Resort has so much to offer its guests. Between its modern flair, fantastic food options, and location, this Disney deluxe resort is always in demand.
There are a wide variety of room options available at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower.

If you book a garden view room at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and Bay Lake Tower, consider asking for a corner room, as the majority of those rooms are larger than standard garden view rooms. As an alternative request, ask for a room on a high floor, as all of the rooms have balconies.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa was the first ever Disney World resort, and the Disney imagineers pulled out all the stops to make sure the first resort was fabulous. This Victorian-style Disney resort is the classiest of them all, as it includes sophisticated dining options, amazing orchestra music, and even views of Cinderella’s Castle in Magic Kingdom.
There are a variety of room options available at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.

Since Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is so close to Magic Kingdom, there is a good chance that you’ll be able to see the fireworks from the resort, especially if you request a room on a higher floor. As an alternative request, you can also ask for a dormer room, as those types of rooms have private balconies.
Disney’s Riviera Resort
Disney’s Riviera Resort is the newest of the Disney World resorts, and its minimalistic yet elegant set-up portrays that. In its design, Disney definitely took its guests requests into consideration, particularly in terms of transportation and the range of room options. Check Rates on Hotels.com

2 Bedroom Villa – Preferred View
Perhaps the wisest request to make at Disney’s Riviera Resort is for a room in the East Wing. The vast majority of the recreation, shopping, and dining options at this Disney World resort are much closer to the East Wing than they are to the West Wing.
Disney’s Old Key West Resort
As the name implies, Disney’s Old Key West Resort is inspired by the beachy, yet romantic vibes of the Florida Keys. Lined with palm trees and complete with an amazing golf course, this tropical paradise is a fantastic Disney World resort.
There is a limited variety of room options available at Disney’s Old Key West Resort.
Deluxe Studio
1 Bedroom Villa
2 Bedroom Villa
Because Disney’s Old Key West Resort is a little bit different from most of the other Disney World Resorts, DVC members prefer different request options. While some opt to request rooms near the elevator (as only buildings 62, 63, and 64 have elevators), others choose to use their requests to request a room with a dual entrance bathroom (rather than a room where you can only access the bathroom through the master bedroom).
Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
The original Saratoga Springs in New York was a retreat from the city known for its spas and horse racing. While horse racing may not be on Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa’s list of amenities, the exciting yet relaxing atmosphere of the original Saratoga Springs definitely still rings true.

If you plan on taking Disney’s bus transportation to the parks from Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, consider requesting a room in the Grandstand section, as guests staying in this part of the resort are the first to board the buses and the first to disembark. However, if you’d prefer easy access to Disney Springs and the many amazing restaurants and fantastic shops there, consider requesting a room in the Congress Park section instead.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort And Villas
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort and Villas is a breathtaking property that celebrates the beauty of American nature and wilderness. Guests at this Disney World resort are able to hike, jog, fish, swim, and have a campfire! Basically, you can do anything you would do in one of the U.S.’ great national parks.

As for the requests, if seeing the Electrical Water Pageant is on your Disney bucket list, request a courtyard view room. And if you’re interested in having a balcony, be sure to request an open balcony, as rooms above the fifth floor have closed balconies.

Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside is imbued with Southern charm and Cajun and Creole influence. The white columns, bubbling fountains, and welcoming dining areas at this amazing Disney moderate resort make you feel as if you’ve been transported to New Orleans.

Many of the buildings at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside do not have elevators. The only buildings with elevators are in the Magnolia Bend section of the resort (buildings 80, 85, 90, and 95). If you’d like a room near an elevator, be sure to request it! If views are more important to you, request a corner room in the Alligator Bayou section, as those rooms often have two windows, rather than just one.
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter
At Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter, you get to experience a bit more of the Mardi Gras-inspired side of New Orleans. Listen to fantastic jazz music or chow down on some Mickey-shaped beignets at this Disney World resort.
There is a limited variety of room options available at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter.
Just like its riverside counterpart, you can request a corner room at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter to have an additional window to take in the stunning views.

If you book a preferred room, do not request a room in Barbados Village, because there are no preferred rooms in Barbados Village! Instead, use your request to ask for a ground floor room, as none of the buildings have elevators.
Best Room Requests At Value Resorts
Disney’s art of animation resort.
Out of all of the Disney value resorts , Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is by far the best one. Inspired by many of the animated Disney movies, including Finding Nemo, The Lion King, and Cars , every Disney lover is sure to have a blast at this WDW resort.
There are a variety of room options available at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort.
The Little Mermaid Standard Room
The Lion King Family Suites
Cars Family Suites

Finding Nemo Family Suites
Because Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is quite large, a wise request would be to ask for a room near transportation. This will significantly cut down on the amount of walking you’ll have to do to get to your room.
Disney’s Pop Century Resort
Disney’s Pop Century Resort takes its guests back in time to the trends of the from the 1950s all the way to the 1990s, like rollerblades and Rubik’s Cubes.
There is a limited variety of room options available at Disney’s Pop Century Resort.
Standard Pool View
Preferred Pool View
For the best views, request a room on the highest levels of buildings 3 or 4. Both of these buildings provide stunning views of Hourglass Lake, and give you a shot of seeing the Epcot IllumiNations fireworks. Plus, if you request a room on a high floor, you’ll be able to escape for a little bit of peace and quiet in your room if you would like to.
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
Inspired by the original Disney movies like 101 Dalmatians and Fantasia , Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is a great value resort for classic Disney animation lovers.
There is a limited variety of room options available at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort and Disney’s All-Star Music Resort are pretty close to each other. To get the best of both resorts’ dining and transportation options, request a room in the Mighty Ducks section, as that area is closest to Disney’s All-Star Music Resort.
Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
Every nook and cranny of Disney’s All-Star Music Resort has found its connection to music – from the guitar-shaped pool or the Intermission Food Court.
There is a limited variety of room options available at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort.
Disney’s All-Star Music Resort can be pretty loud at times, so, to avoid the noise, request a room with a landscape view on a high floor.
Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
This sports-themed Disney resort is a great affordable accommodation option for Disney guests who also happen to be sports fans!
There is a limited variety of room options available at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort.
Just as with the other all-star resorts, quiet is quite hard to find. To have your best shot of having a place to avoid the noise, request a landscape view room on a high floor.

All I wanted to know is How long the chocolate Easter Eggs are going to be displayed at the Grand Floridian. So for a simple question I waited 45 minutes and gave up. What terrible customer service. As a stockholder and annual pass holder I would accept better, much better customer service for all visitors!!

Calling Disney is a lesson in futility. I can’t count the number f times I have called and after being on hold for hours, received no help. But thank you for the list, DFB, we are EVER hopeful that Disney will do a better job with customer service!

Hi there. I can not get a direct access to Old Key West anymore. The number listed (which was the same number I had in my phone from 2015, so I know it was right at one time) gets me to a calling center, “that answers the phone for old key west.” Everyone is incredibly nice and helpful. It’s just sometimes necessary to speak with someone who has SEEN the property.

Are Disney club-level rooms worth the extra cost?
If you've shopped online for Disney resort hotel reservations, you may have seen the words "Disney Club Level" on some booking options and wondered what exactly they mean.
You can probably quickly tell that these accommodations are more expensive than non-club options, but it isn't immediately obvious what that extra cash gets you ... and whether it is worth it.
Fortunately, I've been lucky enough to try out a number of Disney club-level rooms at a few different Disney resorts over the years. Here's all you need to know about these pricier rooms so you can decide if they're worth the splurge.

What is the club level at Disney resorts?
Paying extra for a club-level room at a Disney resort entitles you to some extra perks and services beyond that of a standard Disney room reservation , largely in the form of food and drinks served in a club lounge.
The club level is not available at every Disney resort, but you will find it at these Deluxe and Moderate Disney properties:
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge .
Disney's BoardWalk Inn .
Disney's Contemporary Resort .
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa .
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort .
Disney's Wilderness Lodge .
Disney's Yacht Club Resort .
Disney's Beach Club Resort.
Gran Destino Tower at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort (the only Moderate resort that currently has a club level).
With a club-level room at Walt Disney World, you are not only assigned a specific type of room, but you also have access to a club lounge and the hosts within that lounge. These hosts can help you fix your park reservations, troubleshoot basic tech support issues with the app, give advice on planning your day and generally make your stay more personalized and, dare we say, magical.

What are Disney club-level benefits?
When you arrive to check into your Disney club-level room, you'll likely be personally escorted up to the club lounge to complete your check-in and orientation, which covers all you can expect from the lounge and your various club benefits.
The club rooms are often centrally located, so you won't have to worry about being at the far end of a spread-out resort. For the Contemporary, that means you'll be in the atrium, close to the restaurants, monorail and, of course, the club lounge itself.
The most tangible benefit of Disney's club level is the club lounge itself, where you'll have access to food, drinks and snacks from morning to night.
Of the options available, breakfast and evening appetizers are the most substantial offerings. In fact, those are the two meals you could make out of your lounge access if you were so inclined. Be sure to leave room for dessert, though, as the options are consistently tasty.
Years ago, when I first booked the club level at the Contemporary, the agent on the phone told me I was in for a treat and that I had to make myself a plate of dessert, grab some wine from the club and retreat to my theme park-facing room for my own personal fireworks viewing party.
He was right. Having the show's music playing in the background via my TV while enjoying my selection of snacks was every bit as much of a treat as he said it would be.
What can you expect from Disney club-level lounges?
While I've briefly touched on the food and beverage options available in Disney's lounges, let's break it down further, so you know exactly what to expect.
On my most recent visits, breakfast was available from 7 to 10:30 a.m. daily, with coffee starting at 6:30 a.m. Morning options typically include a mix of hot and cold items, such as comforting bites like fried chicken on top of biscuits and creamy grits, plus healthier offerings like avocado toast, fruit and yogurt. Cold cuts and a selection of pastries are available as well.
In the afternoon, the offerings thin out a bit. However, the fridge remains stocked, which is quite handy for grabbing a drink between treks to the parks. We've also been known to toss an Uncrustable or two, along with packaged grapes and maybe a wrapped-up cookie, into our backpacks to enjoy in the parks when we don't want to stop and eat a real meal.
Related: The best restaurants at Disney World
Around 5 p.m. is when the "good" stuff comes out until 7 p.m. Whether you want a snack to tide you over before heading back to the parks or are aiming to put together a "dinner" on the cheap, you can accomplish either goal at the lounge, so long as your crew isn't too picky. There are a handful of hot options each evening, usually from the hotel's restaurant kitchen.
It's common to find some kid-pleasers such as nuggets, tater tots and rolls next to more adult-oriented favorites like short ribs, soy-glazed salmon and serrano-wrapped melon.
Fair warning, though, if do want to turn the evening club options into dinner, you won't want to wait to arrive until just before they're cleared at 7 p.m., as you may find the scene looking a bit messy with options lacking.
After the evening snacks (or dinner, as the case may be) are finished, the lounge shifts its focus to desserts and drinks, which are available from about 8 to 10 p.m.
These options are the perfect way to unwind after a busy day at the theme parks, especially if you time your snack consumption just right to coincide with watching the fireworks from the lounge or your room (if you have a theme park view).
The desserts may consist of cookies, cupcakes, tarts and cakes, among other sweet treats.
Adult beverages are included, too. Expect a selection of a few different wines in the evening, along with a variety of bottled beers and/or a beer or two on tap. Grand Marnier, Baileys, Kahlua and Frangelico are some of the common cordials I've seen on offer.
How much does Disney's club level cost?
Depending on the resort and time of year, expect Disney club-level rooms to cost somewhere between $400 and $1,000 per night. The Gran Destino rooms are often the least expensive thanks to being the only Moderate resort option, while the Grand Floridian, the Contemporary and the Polynesian club-level rooms are typically the most expensive.
I've seen Disney club-level rooms start at about a $150 to $200 upcharge over non-club rooms. However, I've also seen the price difference between the entry-level room and the club-level room be roughly $300 to $400 per night, especially in cases such as the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary, where the main building's rooms are just inherently pricier than the outer buildings.
When you layer club-level service on top of the rooms, the spread for nightly rates at resorts with club levels widens in a hurry. To be sure you're getting the most bang for your buck, I highly recommend using a free Disney vacation planner (such as TPG's booking partner Mouse Counselors ) since they can get you additional discounts and assist with planning other parts of your trip.
Is Disney's club level worth it?
Now that you know what it is and what it generally costs, it's time to determine if the Disney Club Level is worth it.
If you want as much convenience, service and magic as possible while at Disney World, it may very well be worth paying up for a club-level room (if you can fit it into your budget). This is much like the equation with the concierge-level service on a Disney cruise .
However, if "worth it" means you're spending more in one area to save in another (aka on food and drinks), then the answer is: It depends. You're unlikely to ever truly save money by booking a club-level room, but there are situations where you can trim expenses here and there.
For example, if you're a family that's going to make good use of the food and drinks in the lounge, then it's not unreasonable to make up a large portion of that room price difference by dining in the lounge instead of at the theme parks, where food and beverage prices are notoriously high.
Of course, ordering essentials and having them directly delivered to Disney via a grocery service is probably cheaper, but that doesn't mean you still can't save some money by staying in a club-level room.
As with all Disney resort rooms, there's another way you can shave a little more off the out-of-pocket cost: credit card rewards.
For example, with the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card , the miles you accrue can be used to offset any travel charge on the card or any Disney booking made within Capital One's travel site . The Bilt Mastercard® (see rates and fees ) also has a travel portal that lets you use rewards for Disney resorts.
Bottom line
You likely won't want to book a Disney club-level room for a weeklong Disney World vacation (unless you have an unlimited budget).
However, choosing this type of accommodation for a few days of a trip is worth it, especially if you plan on limiting your off-site meals and aren't set on spending every waking moment in the parks.
Just be sure to be smart about when you reserve this kind of room. Aim to lock it in when the nightly price differential is no more than $200 above the room you would otherwise book so you can get more value out of the experience.

Is Splurging For Club Level At Walt Disney World Resorts A Good Value For Food And Beverages?
I am lucky enough to be a local in Central Florida, so we spend a lot of time at Walt Disney World . It's one of the primary reasons we moved to our chosen town. You may wonder why we decide to stay on property when we live such a short distance away. The answer is simple. The immersion into the Disney ambiance, the convenience of close proximity to the parks, and the unique amenities make staying on the property a magical experience distinct from just a day visit. For a recent vacation, we decided to take that magical experience to new heights and stay in a club level room in the Grand Destino Tower at the Coronado Springs Resort.
This beautiful hotel is considered a moderately priced hotel in the Disney pricing terminology, but when you walk in, it seems like a luxurious, deluxe hotel. The decoration and styling of the tower are modeled after Walt Disney's collaboration with Salvador Dali and their work on a short animated piece called "Destino." Even still, there are little touches of Mickey throughout the resort.
When you stay in a room on the club level, you get access to perks that guests throughout the rest of the resort don't have access to, including a lounge. Here, you can enjoy breakfast, appetizers, desserts, beer, and wine, all for free. Plus, you get some incredible views. In fact, one of our favorite Orlando restaurants with a spectacular view is just one floor up.
Which resorts offer club level?
Coronado Springs is one of many Disney resorts offering club level. However, it is the only moderately priced resort to have this perk. The rest of the resorts at club level are in the deluxe category, surrounding Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and Epcot.
The Animal Kingdom Lodge has a club level in both the main building and the Jambo House. For Magic Kingdom, you will find club level at the Contemporary, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, and Wilderness Lodge. Epcot club level resorts include the Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Boardwalk.
When it comes to staying on property, most guests get to enjoy the Disney transportation. And honestly, to my family, no Disney trip is complete without taking full advantage of the boats, monorails, Skyliners, and buses to get from place to place. While Coronado Springs offers only buses as transportation, the resorts around Magic Kingdom and Epcot offer several more options, making your journey to the park just as magical as your stay in the park.
Disney Resorts are like a vacation all in themselves, and we've been known to book a room and stay exclusively at the resort rather than visiting a park. The only trouble is they aren't all-inclusive, so if you are used to staying in that environment, a Disney Resort might not seem ideal. However, with club level includes a lot of perks and it feels much more all-inclusive than non-club level rooms.
Enjoy a filling breakfast before hitting the parks
Each morning of our stay, after waking up and getting dressed for the day, we would head on up to the lounge for a delectable continental breakfast that included crunchy cereals, freshly baked breakfast pastries, aromatic coffee, and an array of other delightful items. Happy and eager cast members greeted us every single time. The setup also typically had an egg dish and a breakfast meat of some kind. These options rotate throughout the week, so even if you were staying for a more extended trip, you would probably experience a few different types of main offerings. One of my particular favorites was a piece of toast covered in goat cheese and topped with tomato.
Though I am a little persnickety when it comes to coffee, my husband took full advantage of the coffee machine, which offered cappuccinos and other coffee drinks at the touch of a button. For my drink, I typically went down to the coffee shop in the lower lobby of the hotel and bought my favorite Spanish coffee , a cafe Bombón.
Our four-year-old can be a little bit of a picky eater like most kids his age, so we were a little nervous about whether there would be offerings he would like, but he fell in love with the Fruit Loops, which a cast member remembered, and even brought him out a bowl of, even though they weren't on the spread.
Save a load of cash on dinner
The lounges offer appetizers at lunchtime but more substantial offerings when it comes to dinner. If you happen to find yourself back around the resort at this time, we found the dinner dishes to be pretty good. There was a steak and peppers hot main that we both enjoyed and on one night, the lounge even had corn dog nuggets just like the ones you can pick up from Casey's at one of my favorite quick service restaurants in Magic Kingdom. I went back a few times for these, and although they were missing cheese sauce, the bites were still pretty tasty.
If you tend to be a snacker around dinner time or just want something to tide you over for a later meal at a different location, the offerings here are perfect. We also really liked the charcuterie assortment, and it even had accompaniments like fig jam to enjoy alongside the cheeses and meats. One option typically available at both lunch and dinner was cut vegetables and dips. I fell in love with the lounge's homemade ranch offering. It was so bright and refreshing, and along with those cucumbers, it was the perfect light snack after lunchtime and dinner.
Club level offers lots of free sips
One of the very best parts about club level is the free drinks. When we first arrived at Coronado Springs and were brought to the club, cast members were eager to prepare a mimosa for me and offered my husband a beer. For our son, they prepared a specialty lemonade that was bright green and they called it Alien Lemonade. He eagerly accepted it, and we enjoyed our drinks as well.
I got a mimosa a few more times while we were at the lounge, and it was always a POG mimosa. POG stands for passion fruit, orange, and guava, and the juice is pretty popular around the Disney resort. You can find it at many breakfast locations, and I was really excited that our lounge was able to mix it with bubbly for a mimosa.
Though drinks were not out on the bar throughout the day, there was a whole wine, beer, and cocktail setup at dinner time. There were options to suit any taste, and if there wasn't something to your liking, cast members would have been more than willing to go look for something in the restaurant on the floor above. We could have also ordered cocktails here, provided that they were a little on the simpler side — think screwdriver, not Moscow mule. The beer selection was pretty good here, too, and we enjoyed a few Lagunitas throughout our stay.
How does the price compare?
We had a wonderful stay in Grand Destino Tower, but it is quite a bit more expensive than a regular room. In comparing prices, you can expect to spend between $900 and $1,000 on a room with club access if you do not have any discounts. The types of rooms vary significantly, but that tended to be the price for a room that would sleep four adults, whether it be two queens, a king, and a pull-out, or some other variation. To put that into perspective, the same types of rooms in the same tower that slept the same number of people would be less than half that cost. So, for somewhere around $400 more a night, you could have access to the club level. For a family of four, that breaks down to about $100 for club level access per person, per night.
You may wonder how that compares since you have access to free food, and this is where it varies wildly depending on your family preferences. If you plan on eating exclusively from the club and not from the parks or other restaurants on the property, and you have a family the size of four with two adults and two children, you can expect to save at least $240 per day on food alone. That's assuming that your family would purchase mostly quick-service options. If you were to typically dine at sit-down dinners or even some character meals, the savings would be higher.
Verdict: Is it worth it?
For us, club level was worth it. We have a son who still takes naps midday, so we typically try to return to the resort for those nap times and could enjoy the free mid-day snacks, and we loved the easy access to breakfast right upstairs. Plus, grabbing a Pellegrino as we head out to the parks in the morning was super handy, especially for my husband, who loves sparkling water.
Cast members on the club level do an incredible job making sure your stay is excellent. In addition to offering great food, they also have the ability to make dining reservations, park reservations, and pretty much anything else you could need them to do. They are truly there to make sure that your stay is absolutely unforgettable. If you like that white-glove treatment, the club level is going to be totally worthwhile. If you plan on taking advantage of the free alcoholic drinks, club level will be even more beneficial.
On the other hand, if your family enjoys meals out and is looking forward to a few character dining experiences during your trip, financially, staying at the club level probably isn't going to be the best choice when it comes down to it. For this, though, you just have to weigh what is most important to you. I'll say one thing: I can't wait to return to Coronado Springs and wake up to the Disney magic right outside of my window.

Once the recorded message moves to your options I hit 3 immediately rather than waiting to hear my choices. The next menu began in which the cabana option is just remain on the line. A CM answered immediately! I was able to book my first choice of date which is halfway through our trip. The same CM also offered to help with dining while I was on the line. I know many people have reported waiting on hold for hours so just wanted to share & hopefully help someone! Click to expand...
TJA said: We were just there 8/24-27. The chairs were in sets of 3 and 4 with some space in between the sets. As far as masks: the only person we saw with a mask was the CM walking around taking drink orders (not sure if he was also taking food orders but we assumed he was....). We looked around and did not see any guests wearing a mask once inside the pool area and situated on a chair or at a table. We did see a mask flying around the pool deck and that brings up the issue of people wearing them to the pool and then losing them or the wind taking them away once at the pool. We saw some creative ways to store masks for sure, lol, with one family attaching their masks to their flip flops while laying in chairs. Click to expand...
sarmat1 said: To enter the line for the Jib slide, you have to actually go out of the pool area entirely. Once on the slide, you go under not 1, but 2 waterfalls that will definitely dump water on your head. The slide ultimately feeds into 4 feet of water and you come down with such force that you will go under water (unless wearing a vest). The exiting part of the slide is in a roped off area of the pool and a lifeguard will be sitting there. That guard will likely keep others out of the roped off area, so parents are not allowed to "catch" their children coming off. Depending on how adventurous your kids are, you might want to go with them the first time. The kiddie area of SAB with the little beach area to play on is on the complete other side of where the slide ends. You'll need to determine your comfort level with older kids going on the slide (then exiting the pool area to go on again and again) if you're with a younger child in the kiddie area. That's the one thing I didn't like about SAB. It's so big, it can become difficult to supervise all of your different age kids simultaneously with the many different sections. Maybe this is an issue for others, maybe not, but I thought it deserved mentioning. Click to expand...
beebeeryan said: With regards to the Jib slide and younger kids...if you stand around where the slide comes out you can walk with them to the pathway where they cross over and watch them go up then walk back to the pool. You'll make it back well before they get down, since there are always at least a few people in line and it's a long way down. Also if you go before your child, you could wait towards the rope for them, the lifeguard may or may not usher you away quickly. Click to expand...

Cluelyss said: My daughter just did it yesterday and loved every minute of it! There were 8 in her class (not sure if it was “full” but was the perfect size for plenty of individual instruction). Kids ranged in ages from probably 6-12 and should be a decent swimmer as the fins are not easy to maneuver! They got to do several “tricks” like swimming through hoops and you have the option at the end to purchase (or order) your own tail. The class takes place in the pirate slide pool, which was was the only downfall, as I think it would have been better for them to have more room to move around. At the end they had “free swim” and it was a bit crowded with 8 tails swimming about! We pre-booked not long after the class was announced. I’m sure it will be based on the class on any given day what the age range will be, but I’d assume she’d be on the older end? We didn’t purchase a tail there but brought home info to order online (they provide a $10 off discount code at the class) and prices range from $109-119 on their website. Click to expand...

The price was pretty reasonable (it depended on what you wanted to paint, but I think my mug was around $15?), they provide all the materials you need, and there was no time limit (which was good for me because I like to take my time with things). The only thing to note is that if you do the ceramics, they have to put it in the kiln, so it won't be available for a day or two, so try and do it earlier in the week. If you don't receive a direct to room text before you arrive at the resort then you will have to physically check in before you can access SAB. But most often you will receive a direct to room text which will let you know the status of your room, i.e. ready or not. For 2024, Club Level rooms at Yacht Club start at $830 per night. That's a premium of about $263 per night over the lowest priced standard room.
