If your plans change prior to departure we may allow you to reschedule, based upon availability. An inconvenience fee of up to 50% of the cruise value may be charge for passengers who fail to show up for their scheduled cruise.
In the event of a global pandemic or other crisis beyond our control, we reserve the right to issue gift certificates in place of cash refunds.
The Riverboat Twilight will make every accommodation possible to stay on schedule, however, will not be responsible for cruise delays that are beyond their control. It is agreed that River Cruises shall bear no responsibility for inclement weather or waterway restrictions.
During the cruise the Captain shall have absolute authority to:
1) Terminate the cruise at any time for considerations of safety for either the vessel, its passengers or crew.
2) Refuse the service of alcoholic beverages to any persons onboard the vessel at any time.
3) Determine all matters relating to the safe navigation of the vessel
4) select a different point of embarkation or disembarkation of the vessel passengers if deemed reasonably necessary due to an inability of the vessel to utilize its customary dock. No food or alcohol is to be brought aboard the vessel unless otherwise agreed upon with River Cruises.
River Cruises reserves the right to cancel any cruise, change schedules or routes, and substitute vessels without prior notice. Cruises may be abbreviated, altered, or cancelled, if, in the judgement of the Captain, conditions are not conducive to safe operations.
Cruises will only be suspended due to a medical emergency in which case, an ambulance will be called to assist the ticket holder and/or their guest. Any other cruise suspensions will be done so at the discretion of the Captain. Any ground transportation, outside of normal cruise operations, will be at the cost, risk, and coordination of the ticket holder and/or their guest.
Ticket holders and their guests voluntarily assume all risk and danger incidental to boating whether known or unknown. Contract holders and their guests acknowledge that management assumes no responsibility for accidents, personal injury or loss, or damage to property, regardless of their cause.
Passengers, who by their actions, endanger themselves, other passengers, crew members, or the vessel, or who violate the USCG SSA (H.R. 6866) will be subject to removal from the vessel and/or arrest.

Trip Itinerary
This cruise heads North from Dubuque through Lock & Dam 11 and takes in one of the most beautiful areas of the Mississippi River. Your cruise includes continental breakfast, a mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack, and a full lunch. Take in historical narration, great scenery, wildlife, and live entertainment.
If river conditions allow, we will dock in Guttenberg and give our passengers the opportunity to depart the boat and spend time in this quaint, river town. Be sure to listen to the instructions from the Captain for the re-boarding time. Lunch will be served after we depart from Guttenberg. If we are unable to dock in Guttenberg, lunch will be served at approximately 12:15pm. Arrival time back at Dubuque is approximately 5:00pm.

Free, ample parking is available at our boat dock in Dubuque. Parking is well-lit and routinely patrolled by the local police.
You may bring a backpack, purse, tote bag, or other carry-on bag onboard , with essential items you need during the day. Coolers are only allowed for medical use.
The Twilight offers ample, indoor and outdoor seating on all three decks. A gift shop and restrooms are located on the main deck; a cash bar is located on the third deck. Stair climbing is required to reach the upper decks.
An indoor, dining table is reserved for your party; we ask that you sit at your reserved table during mealtimes. You may roam throughout the boat during the duration of your trip.
Suggested Items to Bring with You
We recommend dressing in layers and wearing comfortable shoes. Consider bringing onboard items such as a camera, medication, binoculars, sunscreen, sunglasses, and or leisure items such as a book, board games, cards, etc. Charge your devices ahead of time; outlets are limited.
Accommodations & Requests

The Twilight has three levels; stairs are required to reach the upper decks. We are unable to accommodate motorized scooters onboard; these can be sent with your overnight luggage and will be waiting for you at our dock in Dubuque. Walkers or wheelchairs are welcomed. If you need seating on the lowest level, an ADA room at the hotel, or any other physical accommodation, call 1-800-331-1467.

If you are not vaccinated, we strongly encourage you to do so, however, at this time the Riverboat Twilight does not ask for proof of vaccination. Mask wearing is the choice of the individual. The Twilight offers ample indoor and outdoor seating on all three decks and plenty of fresh air.
We will continue to maintain our increased sanitization efforts of the TWILIGHT and our boarding facilities, and we continue to provide hand sanitizer aboard the boat and employ a strong air purifier that uses UVC lighting that has been proven to destroy viruses and other bacteria.
For the safety of our passengers and crew and to maintain proper cleanliness, we have implemented the following guidelines for parents of children under the age of 14. While onboard the vessel and when making use of our food and beverages services, children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. With your cooperation and understanding, we will be able to continue to offer a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.
As an owner, of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Le Claire, IA and the President of Great Lakes Management Group which manages the hotel’s day to day operations, I wanted to say thank you. We continue to monitor the franchise, local, state and federal safety guidelines to insure our guest and staff safety. For example, we anticipate a few changes in the near future which will include the following: a plastic shield / barrier at the front desk check, revised breakfast offerings without a buffet setting, hand sanitizer located in the lobby and all floors at the elevator landings, continued use of hospital grade products to clean and sanitize the guest rooms, individual sanitizer wipes as an in-room amenity, removal of all products in the rooms that are reusable for example, pens, pads, laundry bags, and throw pillows, these items will be available upon request. Come explore the mighty Mississippi River in style on board the Riverboat Twilight. This elegant steamboat replicates the vessels popular in the Victoria era. Enjoy a two-day trip roundtrip on the river as you indulge in delicious meals and relax to live entertainment. Stay overnight in a hotel midway then reboard the Twilight to return to LeClair, Iowa.
We make our way through Wisconsin enroute to the small river town of Le Claire, IA. First, tour the Buffalo Bill Museum to learn more about this bigger-than-life western character and his humble beginnings here in his hometown of LeClaire, This evening we enjoy free time for dinner on your own before turning in for the night here in LeClaire.
Board the Riverboat Twilight for our two day excursion up the Mississippi River. A continental breakfast awaits you upon boarding. Lunch and dinner meals will be served to you by the friendly crew at your reserved table. Beautiful scenery, activities and relaxation are all for you to enjoy as the boat winds its way upstream. From shallow marshes teaming with wildlife to palisades and high cliffs pass as we approach mining country. The Captain will point out sights of interest along the way and explain "locking through" procedures as we negotiate locks and dams. Showtime each afternoon features folk musicians, humorists and perhaps an appearance by Mark Twain himself! Browse the gift shop or enjoy your favorite cocktail at the bar. Ending day one of our cruise we check into the Grand Harbor Resort on the banks of the river in Dubuque, IA for a well deserved rest tonight.
We have a free morning to enjoy the National Mississippi River Aquarium & Museum adjacent to our hotel. Then we're back on board the Riverboat Twilight for another day of adventure and history on the mighty Mississippi River. Heading downstream we enjoy the company of river barges, houseboats, pleasure craft and workboats on the third largest river system in the world. The Mississippi was once a highway for French traders, fur trappers and European settlers in the 18th Century. Continental breakfast, lunch dinner and snacks throughout the day with entertainment and fun keep us busy. We return to Le Claire, IA to meet our Lamers coach and transfer to the nearby Comfort Inn or Holiday Inn Express for another relaxing night.
Beginning our journey home we travel through Illinois for a tour of Starved Rock State Park. We enjoy an included luncheon in the Parks' historic lodge in the main dining room. Entering Wisconsin our fellow travelers say goodbye as we head home with wonderful memories of the Twilight Riverboat and the mighty Mississippi River.

Two Day Mississippi Cruise & More!!!

Laughter and excitement radiate from passengers boarding the Riverboat Twilight on the first day of their Mississippi River cruise. The Twilight’s whistle blows, then water churns as the riverboat backs away from her dock in Le Claire, Iowa. The onboard calliope bursts into song, playing an old-fashioned tune as the boat glides up the river to its overnight destination at the Port of Dubuque. You can be part of this excitement when you join Laura and Gary Block for this four-day getaway. Experience towering bluffs, two Locks and Dams, quaint river towns and historical narration during your two days on the river. Our Andy’s Charter Service coach departs Little Falls from the northeast corner of the Wal-Mart parking lot at 6:30 a.m. on July 31st and heads south. We’ll pick up in Royalton, Rice, St. Cloud, the Twin Cities or anywhere else along our route. We’ll travel through southern Minnesota and across Iowa today, stopping for lunch on our own as we head to East Moline, Illinois where we’ll be staying at the Comfort Inn. Dinner this evening is at Cinnamon Ridge Farm in Donahue, Iowa. This is a fifth-generation family owned, family run robotic farm. Enjoy a farm to table meal and a tour of the robotic facility. The food is fabulous and the tour is great!
Our second day begins in LeClaire, Iowa as we step aboard the most elegant riverboat launched in the last 100 years and enjoy breakfast on the Riverboat Twilight. Her unique stern and ornate detailing will bring you back in time to the elegant riverboats of Mark Twain’s era …the classic boats that Twain called “floating palaces”. Considered the Midwest’s best kept secret, the Riverboat Twilight offers a two-day cruise between Le Claire and Dubuque. The cruise aboard the Victorian-styled Twilight is a journey back to the days when riverboats were the most luxurious means of transportation in the country. There are three decks with comfortable climate-controlled dining salons and three sundecks with lounge chairs for those who wish to take in the fresh air, sights, or snooze in the sun. For two days, we’ll be served a bountiful of freshly prepared meals, plated on china and served at reserved dining tables. We’ll be enlightened by the enjoyable entertainment in the afternoon and educated throughout the day by the Captain’s narration as he guides through the bends of the river exploring the stunning nature and wildlife and bringing a unique educational experience of “locking” through the two lock and dams. Lunch, dinner and snacks in the morning and afternoon are served on the Twilight and included with the trip. Early evening we land at Dubuque Ice Harbor where we disembark and take the shuttle or do the very short walk to the Grand Harbor Resort, our home for the evening. Tonight we can relax or explore the beautiful hotel, enjoy a stroll along the river walk, visit Diamond Jo Casino or enjoy the live entertainment on the hotel patio.
The third day begins with a buffet breakfast at the hotel’s Tony Roma’s Restaurant where they cook a killer breakfast that is included. This morning continuous shuttle service to many Port of Dubuque area activities will begin departing from the main lobby of the hotel. The shuttle makes round trips every 15 minutes and will include stops at the National Mississippi River Museum, 4th Street Elevator, Cable Car Shopping Square, St. Luke’s Methodist Church Tiffany stained window collection and the Diamond Jo Casino. Take your time and explore the activities. Late in the morning, we re-board the Twilight for our cruise back to Le Claire. Lunch and dinner are once again included with trivia and entertainment in the afternoon. The Riverboat Twilight delivers one of the most exceptional cruise experiences in the Midwest. You’ll marvel at the majestic Mississippi while relaxing in style aboard a stunningly replicated Victorian riverboat. Nothing but the Twilight delivers the experience of exploring the majestic bluffs, islands and marshes along the river, plus the remarkable variety of animal, bird and plant species viewed outside. Inside, we’ll be pampered and delighted by delicious plated meals and snacks that are all included, a full bar on your own and an attentive and friendly crew. Our final day begins with breakfast at the hotel and then over to “American Archaeology”, the home store of the History Channel’s American Pickers and other fun shops in the area. Lunch will be on your own at the World’s Largest Truckstop, located on the eastern edge of Iowa. This is a place like no other in the world with a convenience store, shopping area and a number of fast-food places. It’s a captivating four-day trip that we’ll find fun and relaxing. Transportation and lodging hosted by Gary Block Tours is arranged with independent firms. Bookings for entertainment are arranged through independent hotels, theatres and other entertainment venues. We take great pride in our selection of reliable firms. However, we do not control these independent firms. Sometimes shows or celebrity appearances are changed or cancelled without notice. We cannot be responsible for claims or losses arising out of injury, accident, death, loss of enjoyment, frustration or inconvenience that arises from the act or omission of any independent firm supplying services to Gary Block Tours, or for mechanical breakdowns, governmental actions, acts of God, strikes or acts of war beyond our control. We cannot be responsible for the consequences of your failure to follow instructions, including but not limited to check in, check out and baggage handling. If events or reservations are cancelled or changed, we will make every effort to provide a comparable substitute tour experience.

If you’re interested in a tour of Dubuque, the Trolleys of Dubuque will have a one-and-a-half- hour historical tour throughout downtown Dubuque on our evening in Dubuque. The cost is an additional $20 per person and will depart in the evening from the front of the Grand Harbor Resort. Please inform us when you sign up if you’re doing the trolley tour.
