Get to Know the Season 2 Cast of Below Deck Sailing Yacht

The ship's about to hit the fan.

preview for Here's What It Takes To Be On "Below Deck"

This season, we'll be introduced to several yachtie amateurs and experienced professionals alike, including one stew who comes from a family of yachties and a chef who worked in the kitchens of Michelin-starred restaurants. But before the wild season premieres, let's get to know the charter crew of Parsifal III, ready to make a splash on a television screen near you.

"Below Deck: Sailing Yacht" is back for a second season starting March 1st at 9PM ET.

Daisy Kelliher

Position: Chief Stew

Instagram: @daisykelliher87

As chief stew, Irish born and bred Daisy is no stranger to the world of yachting—she comes from a family full of them. While she does have a legacy to uphold upon the Parsifal III, as we'll soon learn, she's no stranger to letting loose from time to time.

Daniele "Dani" Soares

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured daniele soares photo by laurent bassetbravo

Position: Second Stew

Instagram: @iamdanisoares

As Parsifal III's second stew, Dani has more than than eight years' of experience on yachts. Yes, she's great at her job, but she also admits having a sensitive side to her, which can sometimes get in the way of getting the job done.

Position: Third Stew

Instagram: @allidoreporfavor

A relative newbie to yachting, Dore is hoping to gain more experience on the Parsifal III. Safe to say we can already predict some discord amongst the interior crew, based on their varying experience levels.

Natasha De Bourg

Position: Chef

Instagram: @living_vicariously_through_me

Parsifal III's new chef Natasha comes to the yacht with years of European culinary experience at Michelin-star establishments. She has sharp skills, which are only matched by her sharp tongue.

Colin Macrae

Position: Chief Engineer

Instagram: @parlayrevival

As this season's chief engineer, Colin has eight years of yachting experience under his belt. He also has a popular YouTube channel following his sea adventures.

Position: First Mate

Instagram: @king_gk

As this season's first mate, Gary comes aboard the Parsifall III with over a decade of experience on both small boats and super yachts. As of June 2019, it appears he was in a relationship...which may or may not change when he's onboard the Parsifal.

Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux

jean luc below deck sailing yacht

Position: Deckhand

Instagram : @jeanluc_cerza_lanaux

Although he's technically the youngest crew member about Parsifal III at 25, it doesn't mean Jean-Luc isn't familiar with yachts. A former football player, the 6'8" deckhand has some experience working hard to achieve his goals.

Sydney Zaruba

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured sydney zaruba photo by laurent bassetbravo

Instagram: @sydney_zaruba

As the lone female deckhand this season, Sydney isn't afraid to jump in to help. Previously, Sydney worked for her family's boat business.

Captain Glenn Shephard

below deck sailing yacht season2 pictured captain glenn shephard photo by laurent bassetbravo

Position: Captain

Instagram: @bigsailboats

Back for his sophomore season on the beloved boat franchise, Captain Glenn is still the calm and laid-back leader we all loved last year. But his crew members better watch out—despite his chill exterior, he's not afraid to give a piece of his mind when needed.

Since 2013, Below Deck has been captivating TV audiences across the globe by offering a voyeuristic peek into life on board multi-million dollar luxury charter yachts . Taking readers behind the scenes, YachtCharterFleet identifies the yachts featured on the show, as well as those which have appeared on the celebrated spin-off series Below Deck: Mediterranean , Below Deck: Sailing , Below Deck: Down Under and the latest iteration, Below Deck: Adventure .

Bravo’s hit reality TV series Below Deck chronicles the lives of crew members who work and reside aboard a luxury yacht during the charter season.

Each season features a different crew configuration, and the episodes show how the crew members interact and deal with personal issues alongside their working lives. The seasons are filmed over six weeks, with every episode featuring a new group of charter guests.

Getting even closer to these Below Deck superstars, we take a look at each of the stand-out features of every yacht that has appeared on the show.

Below Deck (US)

Many crew members are recurring on the show;  the longest-standing is Captain Lee Rosbach, who been on the show since 2013. A fan favourite, he has been at the helm of every yacht on Below Deck and seen a number of different crew formations.

The latest Below Deck season 10 is rumoured to be his final swan song, although his legacy on the show is such that whoever replaces him will have very big shoes to fill.

Throughout the course of the show, the yachts have played an important role.

Hiring a Below Deck yacht will cost from €140,000 per week - and that price doesn't include expenses such as fuel. While some of the yachts were given an alias over the course of filming, their real names can now be revealed below; as well as the exact cost to rent them.

Below deck charter yacht MY SEANNA

Making an appearance on seasons 9, 8 and 6 of Below Deck , the majestic motor yacht STARSHIP (known on the show as MY SEANNA) is a yacht charter favorite.

The yacht has traveled far and wide for the show cruising to the jaw-droppingly beautiful St Kitts and Nevis in season 9, the sun-kissed Caribbean in season 8 and the  South Pacific  islands of  Tahiti in season 6.

Known for being among one of the most opulent yachts on the charter market due to her ornate interiors and glossy fittings that have been brushed in 22-carat gold, it is safe to say that this yacht is one of the most opulently styled and extensively equipped yachts on the water. Refitted in 2021, the Delta Marine yacht can accommodate 12 guests across 6 cabins and is extremely versatile for a variety of yacht charter party configurations.

The yacht has an elegant 1920's theme, with a chic club lounge complete with a bespoke humidor. She features plenty of marble accents and ample alfresco deck areas, as well as a jacuzzi with innovative spill pool features.

The yachties set course for Spain for this season, cruising around the azure waters of the Balearic Islands . The homeport was Port Adriano on the island of Mallorca .

Featuring in both Season 4 and Season 2 of Below Deck: Mediterranean ,  superyacht SIROCCO  is a yacht charter sensation. TALISMAN MAITON

Premiering in 2018, season 3 of  Below Deck: Mediterranean saw familiar and new faces head to the sublime cruising grounds of Italy. This time, the crew treated their discerning guests to a world of luxury on board the 54m/178ft motor yacht TALISMAN MAITON .

IONIAN PRINCESS

Ionain Princess season 1 Below Deck Mediterranean

Premiering on 3 May 2016, the very first season of Below Deck: Mediterranean , a spin-off of the increasingly popular franchise, took to viewers' screens. This time the ‘yachties’ took care of their guests onboard the motor yacht IONIAN PRINCESS  in the Mediterranean  destination of Greece .

The starring yacht IONIAN PRINCESS was delivered from Christensen in 2005 and was later refit in 2016 and again in 2021. Truly opulent, she bears interiors that are sleekly finished with a range of warmly toned woods and plenty of comfortable furnishings. She also boasts one of the largest sundecks for a yacht of her size.

Below Deck: Mediterranean Season 1 yacht IONIAN PRINCESS is not currently available for private yacht charter vacations.

Below Deck: Sailing Yacht

This is the first time the Below Deck franchise branched away from gleaming motor yachts, with the various weather issues that sailing yachts have to contend with adding even more drama and excitement.

The design of luxury sailing yachts  also creates far more confined crew areas than we are used to seeing on the original Below Deck . In general, sailing yachts tend to feature smaller galleys, compact stew stations and cramped crew quarters which are in closer proximity to the guests’ living areas, putting crew under increased pressure to deliver their signature silver service.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

In addition, deck crew are placed in a far more demanding role, with sailing yachts requiring increased accuracy and precision to safely maneuver and plenty of deck duties taking place in the midst of guest areas.

‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ Season 2 Reunion Revelations: Dani’s Pregnancy, Gary’s Love Triangle and More

Below Deck's Dani: Baby's Father Doesn't Want 'Anything to Do With' Their Child

Just the beginning! The Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast virtually came together to break down everything that happened during the show’s second season — and nothing was off-limits.

During part one of the reunion on Monday, June 21, Glenn Shephard , Colin Macrae , Gary King , Natasha De Bourg , Daisy Kelliher , Dani Soares , Alli Dore and Sydney Zaruba returned to reflect on their highs and lows.

Deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux , who had some big questions to answer about his relationship with Dani since the season wrapped , was noticeably absent. However, host Andy Cohen confirmed that Jean-Luc did a separate interview for the reunion where he addressed the speculation that he’s the father of Dani’s baby .

“If that is my child, I want everything and anything to do with that child’s life,” Jean-Luc said in a preview for part two of the reunion, set to air on June 22.

Prior to the reunion, Jean-Luc took to social media to finally respond to fan’s theories about his relationship with Dani, who welcomed her first child in May.

“There’s a lot of gossip about my social media silence so I think it’s time to clear the air. While others are off chasing their 15 minutes of fame, I am working on a yacht in Central America,” he wrote via Instagram on Friday, June 18. “[I’m] heartbroken to have to hear about the baby’s birth on social media and read headlines, like, ‘Dani Soares Says Her Baby’s Father Doesn’t Want Anything to Do With It.’ All I can say is if it’s mine, I want to be involved 100 [percent].”

Jean-Luc continued: “As someone who grew up with parents who weren’t together, I wouldn’t wish that on any child. Not looking for a pity party. Just want everyone to know how strongly I feel about this, especially the haters who are so sure I am neglecting my responsibility. No one wants to know more than me if this is my baby girl!”

Many members of the Below Deck universe quickly responded to the post and called out Jean-Luc for not doing the right thing, including costar Sydney, who asked, “What is wrong with you?!”

“Don’t play the innocent victim here JL. Man the fuk [sic] up,” Colin added in the comments.

Season 2 chef Natasha added: “I’m sorry JL but sounds like a pity party to me. Why didn’t you reach out 9 months ago ??? No woman deserves to be treated the way you treated Danny [sic]”

While Jean-Luc didn’t appear on part one of the reunion, he was still a large topic of conversation between the crew.

“I think we blame everything on J.L. He’s not here, it makes sense, right? Anything that went wrong this season,” Glenn joked as the rest of the cast members laughed.

The Crew's Thoughts on Jean-Luc's Work Ethic

The Below Deck stars didn't hold back when they spoke about the deckhand’s absent approach to his job, with chief stew Daisy referring to Jean-Luc as "absolutely moronic" while explaining why she refused to let Dani take the blame for Jean-Luc not completing his duties during their night shifts.

Colin also opened up about his relationship with Jean-Luc throughout the season, some of which fans didn't get to see.

"I didn't specifically get on with J.L. from the start, we didn't click. But I felt like he kind of didn't want to take instructions from Gary or myself sometimes," the chief engineer said. "That was just his attitude towards work."

Captain Glenn, who applauded Sydney for her hard work in comparison, added: "He just didn't get the urgency of what is going on."

Gary's Treatment of the Women

In response to a fan question about him "being a twat to basically all the women on the boat," Gary admitted that he did feel badly about his behavior . Shortly after, all the women except Natasha raised their hand when they were asked if they felt like the bosun didn't always treat them well.

Daisy specifically called out Gary earlier in the reunion episode for the way he spoke about her when she wasn't around. "You clearly also hated me and thought that I was a giant bitch," she revealed.

Gary, for his part, clarified: "I may have said you were acting bitchy, I never said you're a bitch.”

Dani and Her Castmates Address Her Baby's Paternity

After Dani shared that Jean-Luc did not want to be involved in her pregnancy, her costars had plenty to say about the deckhand's reaction.

"She's working so hard. She's doing 12-hour days. She's trying to get herself prepared as best as she can. And it is incredibly disgusting and frustrating that [Jean-Luc] won't even acknowledge the situation," Alli responded. "My heart breaks for Dani but she is so strong. I know that she can do this without him and will be better off."

Meanwhile, Gary claimed that Jean-Luc "does not have a spine."

"For the little respect that I had for him, that's gone out the window," he added.

Gary Had a Girlfriend

Alli dropped the bombshell that Gary had a girlfriend when he joined the boat during part two of the Below Deck reunion.

"We were in a very complicated relationship. I hadn't seen her for eight months prior to me coming on the show. Not seeing someone for eight months and growing apart in those months ... do we put a label on that? No," Gary explained after the big reveal.

For Alli, this was a major reason why she felt like it wasn't fair for Sydney to be so mad about their situation with Gary.

"I did everything I could to be respectful in a situation but at the end of the day, when you sleep with someone when they are in a relationship, I feel like that voids you being able to treat me the way you treated me," Alli told Sydney.

Another Below Deck Baby

The former stew, who confirmed the news on social media before part one of the reunion aired , revealed that she was expecting a baby.

"Dani and I are pregnant at the same time. It's so cool!" Alli gushed about her exciting news.

Gary admitted that he didn't know his ex was pregnant, but said that he was happy for her.

"She told me when I spoke to her that her boyfriend treats her well and treats her like a princess, and at the end of the day as long as Alli is happy then I am happy," he added.

The Crossing Timeline

After Cohen asked about the crossing, Alli and Gary explained that they were an official couple during that period of time, but that it was never meant to last.

"It was inevitable that she was always leaving to Australia, so I think in the back of our minds we knew that we could never seriously work because of that," Gary clarified. "Regardless of the great chemistry and the ability to make each other laugh endlessly, and also finish each other's sentences."

Jean-Luc is the Father of Dani's Baby

"Let's put it this way. This baby was made during the season while we had cameras 24/7 with us and I only slept with one guy," Dani finally confirmed. "He hasn't supported me at all in any way. He thinks it is not his child and he doesn't want to have anything to do with it."

Dani opened up about the negativity that she saw online from people like Jean-Luc's mother and how she struggled with that.

"Obviously, I say during the whole season that I want to be a mom and have a family, but I wanted a family. That was my plan. That was my vision. I would not choose to move to a new country where I don't know anybody and choose to have a child with a 24-year-old boy that I barely knew," she emotionally revealed. "I did not plan that. I am just going with this now and I am sure my little baby girl is going to be amazing."

Captain Glenn Shephard on Below Deck Sailing Yacht via the Bravo press site

Season 2 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht features almost an entirely new cast . The only person fans will recognize is Captain Glenn Shephard, the leader fo the Parsifal III yacht who also captained the ship in Season 1. But with so many new crew members comes the potential for a ton of new drama.

Already, the Bravo website is teasing that the chief stew will butt heads with the chef, complicated romances will emerge, and tensions will be high due to pandemic protocols that required the crew to stay on board at all times. Captain Glenn is usually able to stay pretty cool in tough situations, he has his limits . If his staff isn't living up to his expectations, things could get rough. But as the captain teased to E! News, he tried his best to let the cast relax while also pushing them to stay on task. "Working on a yacht in a busy charter season is a bit of a pressure cooker," he said. "So, when there are not guests around, I will let them blow off a little steam — but I want to keep my eye on it, so it doesn't get out of hand." Of course, the trailer hints that things did exactly that .

Before all the drama unfolds, get to know the yacht's new cast.

Below Deck: 8 Charter Guests With The Worst Attitudes

Below deck: everything to know about charter guest erica rose, gary king has ruined below deck sailing yacht's future (it will never be the same).

  • Barrie & Tony Drewitt Barlow were memorable guests on Below Deck Sailing Yacht due to their fascinating background.
  • Barrie had a romantic relationship with his daughter's ex, causing awkward tension on the yacht.
  • Since their appearance, Barrie is still active on social media while Tony has stepped away from the spotlight.

Barrie and Tony Drewitt Barlow were Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guests for two seasons, and there's a lot of curiosity regarding their lives outside the show. They have a fascinating background that impacted United Kingdom history but also had awkward drama on one of the best reality TV shows on TV. Thanks to these contrasting elements, these guests were memorable additions to the series. Episodes featuring the Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guests showed a different sort of trouble in paradise.

Barrie and Tony's kids turned out to be very fussy eaters. Chef Natasha De Bourg , who said she's often underestimated because she is pretty, had trouble serving the large family due to all the requests. This strained her relationship with Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher. It also didn't help that Barrie was in a relationship with his daughter Saffron Drewitt Barlow's ex, Scott, and welcomed another child into their relationship. His marriage with Tony ended as he was having an affair with his daughter's ex. Traveling on a yacht with the family proved to be awkward as Scott was there with them.

Some charter guests have made outrageous demands from the Below Deck crew while on the yacht. One of the guests has even taken their tips back.

Barrie & Tony Were Fascinating Below Deck Sailing Yacht Guests

Barrie and Tony were the first couple officially recognized as gay dads in the U.K.

Barrie and Tony from the Below Deck franchise are a landmark couple. After a law was passed that legitimized LGBTQ+ marriage, they were the first couple officially recognized as gay dads in the U.K . They have five children, and the former reality stars started their parenthood journey by having a set of twins who were conceived with a surrogate mother in Los Angeles. During that time, gay men generally didn't pursue this avenue, and adoption systems had ingrained biases against LGBTQ+ couples. Joining forces with a surrogate mother helped to set a precedent for other people who wanted to go the same route.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht's Tony & Barrie's Family Kept Growing

While the couple from Below Deck Sailing Yacht decided to sail through Croatia on the nautical reality series, they eventually stopped being romantic partners, but their separation was amicable. They maintain that their relationship became friendly rather than romantic. The two chose to focus on being good parents. Barrie is with his daughter's ex, and Saffron has stated that she would rather not know the details of their romance, as Barrie has no filter . Barrie has admitted that it's weird how he has fallen for someone half his age. Nonetheless, they're all maintaining relationships with one another.

Barrie and Scott's youngest, a daughter named Valentina Willow Drewitt-Barlow, was born in October 2020. Tony had throat cancer in the early 2000s. Unfortunately, it returned in 2018. During his treatment, Tony fell for a nurse named Brent, who is significantly younger than him and a very devoted partner. Part of the reason he signed on as a Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guest was due to Tony wanting to spend every precious moment with his family, including his ex, Barrie.

What Are Barrie & Tony Drewitt Barlow Up To Now?

Since appearing on Below Deck Sailing Yacht , Barrie and Tony have stepped away from the spotlight . Tony has decided to put his Instagram on private, restricting Below Deck fans from viewing his content. However, his profile photo is still an image of him and his partner Brent, who was Tony's nurse when he was diagnosed with cancer many years ago. It seems the couple's relationship is still going strong. Nonetheless, Tony still has a link in his bio, leading to his family website. Even though Tony has stepped away from fame , he still wants to support his family.

@scottroberthutchison our boy is getting big xx

Erica Rose made a splash as a Below Deck Sailing Yacht charter guest. Learn more about her life before the popular nautical reality show.

As for Barrie, he's still enjoying the limelight while he can. Unlike his ex-partner Tony, Barrie is very active on social media, which is evident by his followers. Barrie has over 145,000 followers, while Tony has just over 5,000 . However, despite Tony loving the fame, his social media mainly focuses on his family. His most recent post is from April 28, and it's a carousal of him and his partner Scott's youngest son, who is super adorable. The image before that was from April 21, and it's of Barrie's art along with Scott and his daughter Valentina featured.

He wrote in the caption, " when you walk into an exhibition and you DON'T let your children know that you are one of the featured paintings ." It seems after appearing on Below Deck Sailing Yacht , Barrie has started an art career . His work is very impressive and Barrie seems proud of what he's accomplished.

Barrie also addressed a troll who called out his poor behavior on the show. In an early March post, someone called out Barrie and his behavior on Below Deck Sailing Yacht . Barrie addressed it saying, " It’s a reality show, with 30 cast members all fighting for air-time ." Barrie even revealed that he and Chef Natasha are great friends following the seasons.

Barrie and Tony were one of the most memorable guests on Below Deck Sailing Yacht . While they caused a lot of drama, their family made their three-episode arch entertaining. Since Barrie and Tony's appearance, the Below Deck franchise hasn't seen a more entertaining charter guest. Here's hoping they return for another sail with Captain Glenn Shephard and his crew.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is now streaming on Peacock.

I was stunned to find this petty fee on my $270 restaurant bill...

I lived ‘below deck’ on a luxury yacht — here’s what you need to know.

Chartering a yacht Below Deck

Tahiti, St. Thomas and the French Riviera — I’ve yachted in all of these exotic locales, albeit from the comfort of my couch. And, millions of Americans are in the same boat.

In 2013, “Below Deck,” introduced the masses to the most glamorous mode of traveling: yachting. Since then, it’s become a Bravo mainstay with Season 9 of “Below Deck Mediterranean’’ premiering in June.

But how real is the reality show? I spent five nights on a yacht in Croatia to find out.

A tip on tipping

My suitcase wasn’t bursting with Benjamins. An agency at your final destination provides cash for the crew’s tip money. While you’re expected to tip $30,000 for a two-night cruise on “Below Deck,” in real life you only have to tip 10% to 15% of your charter fee. That’s about $10,000 for a two-night cruise on a 180-foot charter yacht like Mustique (from $250,000 a week), which stars in the new season.

According to Zvonimir Androi, president of the yacht charter company Via Croatia, more often than not, the tip comes from what’s left over after provisioning.

So, shun the Dom Pérignon and skip the beluga caviar, and you’ll have money to spare.

What’s up, dock?

A luxury yacht, named Adriatic Escape, docked at Split Marina with a weekly rental price of US$52,800

In real life, “Below Deck’s” favorite commercial-break cliff-hanger isn’t nearly as dramatic. Docking in our yacht, Via Croatia’s five-cabin, 100-foot Adriatic Escape (from $52,800 a week), was breezy.

I asked the crew if they hated setting up the slide — a tortuous, Herculean task if you believe what you see on TV.

“It’s not that bad,” a twentysomething Croatian deckhand, as cute as his on-screen counterparts, told me. “That said, we’re definitely not sad if you don’t ask for it.”

Play it cool

Barbie Pascual arranging a table on the set of Below Deck Season 11.

Despite being served meat on more than one occasion, my vegetarian co-guests on board weren’t divas when it came to cuisine — a major source of chef-related stress on the show.

Tantrums aren’t the norm Barbie Pascual, the “Below Deck” stewardess famous for putting up with former “RHONY” star Jill Zarin’s demands for the perfect Diet Coke in the “Real Housewives of Grenada” episode, tells me. “Guests know they are being filmed so their reactions are more extreme than they’d be if the cameras weren’t around,” she says.

Pascual’s biggest tip for first-time yachters? Don’t go skinny dipping, like they do on the show, after dark.

“People forget about currents, sharks, etc.,” she says. “Jumping in the water should always be with the captain’s consent!”

Our humorless Croatian yacht captain was a far cry from “Below Deck Mediterranean’s” affable Captain Sandy Yawn. I think we only saw him twice over the course of four days, and he definitely didn’t join us for dinner.

That was fine by us because the stews and deckhands were always handy with anything we needed — including at chat.

Asking for it

A group of people on the Adriatic Escape boat, available for weekly rent at $52,800

“No” is a word you’ll never hear on a yacht, unless there is a safety issue, Pascual says.

While we didn’t ask our crew to do a striptease or decorate for ‘70s night (two recurring requests on the show), out-there demands aren’t out of the question, as long as you’re willing to pay for it.

For example, Via Croatia is currently retrofitting one of its multimillion-dollar superyachts for an upcoming charter booked by a multigenerational Jewish family from Florida.

“In addition to paying the charter fee, the client is literally buying everything new: pots, pans, silverware, etc.” said Androi. “They’re even spending $30,000 on a new tender for the elderly mother-in-law.”

Now, I’m no reality show producer, but a picky primary trying to keep his wife, her elderly mom and their kosher kids happy at sea has the makings of an Emmy Award-winning episode.

Yachting on a budget

Agape Rose, an ultra luxury mini cruiser yacht with various amenities, sailing on Croatia's Adriatic coast.

Charters are cheapest at the beginning and end of a destination’s season. Via Croatia’s yuppiest yacht, the 160-foot, 12-cabin Agape Rose , fetches $200,000 a week in July and August. But it’s just $164,000 a week in April and October. Divide that by 24 of your closest friends and family and it’s just $6,800 a person.

If that’s still too much, consider booking a yacht club suite on one of MSC Cruises ’ Mediterranean voyages.

Sure, you’ll be on a cruise liner, but for $1,659 a person you’ll be treated to seven nights of private butler service with a private pool and restaurant that the pleb passengers don’t even know exists.

Parsifal III: Meet the star of Below Deck's sailing yacht spin-off

As the 54 metre superyacht Parsifal III returns to screens for season three of Below Deck Sailing Yacht , her owner Kim Vibe-Petersen talks through the realities of filming a reality TV series on board his boat.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht is a spin-off series of the hit superyacht reality TV show Below Deck that follows the lives of the crew and guests across an eight-week charter season. This week, producers confirmed the show will return for a third season of crew drama and on-the-water antics with Perini Navi sailing yacht Parsifal III in the starring role and Captain Glenn Shephard at the helm.

For Danish owner Kim Vibe-Petersen, Parsifal III' s return is yet another opportunity to show off the yacht's charter credentials. Vibe-Petersen was personally approached by Below Deck producers in 2018 after they struggled to find a suitable sailing yacht. Parsifal III fitted the bill as she was already equipped for charter and a number of her existing crew were willing to take part in the show.

The Perini Navi sailing yacht first hit the water in 2005 and rose to instant fame scoring a number of prestigious accolades including a coveted Neptune at the World Superyacht Awards. On her launch she also joined the ranks as one of the fast Perini Navi superyachts on the water with a top speed of 18 knots under full sail granted by two high-tech carbon masts, automated in-boom furling and a winged keel.

Vibe-Petersen admitted there were some yacht owners who didn’t want the names of their yachts connected with the drama-filled reality show, but he “didn’t have that concern.” Although he had the option to change the yacht’s name for filming, he decided to keep it to maximise the charter appeal of  Parsifal III .

“It’s free advertising,” he said. “The name of the yacht will come to people’s minds, especially to someone who has never chartered a yacht before. They will see that name and know the boat from the show.”

Vibe-Petersen was also keen to secure a guaranteed packed charter schedule during low season. “I think there were a lot of boats that did not want to be chartered for the show but it's good money in the bank,” he said.

While admitting he might not be the “specific audience targeted by the series,” he said he has sat down to watch the first series, which took place in Corfu. Even in Vibe-Peterson’s home country of Denmark, the US show has gained a big following.

“This is the kind of show where they want to make a little drama,” he added. “It’s not that wild on board a normal charter.” The conveyor belt of colourful guests are chosen by the production team and given a “big discount” for appearing on the show.

Vibe-Petersen also explained the complicated logistics of filming Below Deck , each season of which features 16 charters filmed across a period of eight weeks. This means that two groups of guests separately charter the yacht in a single week. Meanwhile, the production team require a time period of at least a week to get  Parsifal III  rigged up and fit for filming. “There are 30 people on board each day with lots of wires and cameras – it’s a big, big operation."

Season one was filmed in Corfu, Greece, which posed a number of challenges for  Parsifal III as the sailing yacht was required to have a specific charter licence. “It’s pretty tough to get that,” said Vibe-Petersen. “It’s not something we can do within a short amount of time. It can take 10 to 12 weeks to get a charter licence so it takes time.”

For her second season, Parsifal III was filmed cruising Croatia's 3,600 miles of coastline. This season, the show will follow Parsifal III as she cruises around the Spanish island of Menorca, carrying a mix of new and old crew. Returning faces include chief stew Daisy Kelliher, chief engineer Colin MacRae, and first mate Gary King while new chef Marcos Spaziani will grace the screen for the first time together with second stew Gabriela Barragan, third stew Ashley Marti and deckhands Kelsie Goglia and Tom Pearson.

'For two seconds I lost my baby in the sea' - Sicily yacht survivor

A British mother on board a yacht which sank off the coast of Sicily has described holding her baby girl above the surface of the sea to save her from drowning.

The mother, named locally as Charlotte, her partner and one-year-old daughter are reported to be among 15 people to have been rescued from the luxury yacht Bayesian early on Monday.

Six people - including British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch - are missing with one man found dead outside the wreckage.

The 56m (183ft) vessel, which was carrying 10 crew and 12 passengers, sank half a mile off the coast of Palermo after encountering a heavy storm overnight that caused waterspouts, or rotating columns of air, to appear over the sea.

Charlotte told Italian newspaper La Repubblica her family survived because they were on deck when the yacht sank.

She said they were woken by “thunder, lightning and waves that made our boat dance”, and it felt like "the end of the world" before they were thrown into the water.

“For two seconds I lost my daughter in the sea then quickly hugged her amid the fury of the waves,” the paper quoted her as saying.

Charlotte said she held her baby "afloat with all my strength, my arms stretched upwards to keep her from drowning".

“It was all dark. In the water I couldn’t keep my eyes open. I screamed for help but all I could hear around me was the screams of others," she added.

A lifeboat inflated and she said 11 people were able to climb in. All three of the family were unharmed and taken to hospital for check-ups.

Karsten Borner, captain of a nearby boat, said his crew took on board some survivors on a life raft, including three who were seriously injured.

Describing the moment, the storm hit, he told Italian news outlet Rai the superyacht tipped to its side and sank within "a few minutes"

"It all happened in really little time," he said.

A local fisherman, Giuseppe, told Reuters he was on board a motorboat when he saw "mats and T-shirts floating in the sea".

Another witness, Fabio Cefalù, captain of a trawler, says he was about to go out on a fishing trip when he saw flashes of lightning so he stayed in the harbour.

"At about 4:15am we saw a flare in the sea," he said, according to the EVN news agency reports.

"We waited for this waterspout to pass. After 10 minutes we went out to the sea and we saw cushions and all the rest of the boat [that had sunk], and everything which was on the deck, at sea. However, we did not see any people in the sea.”

Another fisherman described seeing the yacht "sinking with my own eyes".

Speaking to the newspaper Giornale di Sicilia, the witness said he was at home when the tornado hit.

"Then I saw the boat, it had only one mast, it was very big," he said.

Shortly afterwards he went down to the Santa Nicolicchia bay in Porticello, the fishing village near Palermo where the disaster unfolded, to get a better look at what was happening.

He added: "The boat was still floating, then all of a sudden it disappeared. I saw it sinking with my own eyes."

There were 22 people on board the Bayesian at the time of the incident

Body of superyacht chef recovered - here's who else was on board

Mr Thomas was one of the 22 people on board the superyacht that sank off the coast of Sicily in the early hours of Monday.

The British-flagged vessel named Bayesian was carrying 12 passengers and 10 members of crew when it got into difficulty at around 4.30am, the Italian coastguard said.

Six people are missing and another 15 were rescued. Here's what we know about who was on board.

British technology tycoon Mike Lynch is missing following the sinking of the yacht, which his family are understood to own.

Raised in Ilford, east London by Irish parents, the 59-year-old made millions with the software company Autonomy he set up in 1996.

He has an estimated net worth of £852m, according to the 2023 Sunday Times Rich List.

Off the back of Automomy's global success, Mr Lynch was given the roles of science adviser to former prime minister David Cameron and non-executive director of the BBC.

The Cambridge maths and sciences graduate sold the firm for £8.64bn to US giant Hewlett Packard (HP) in 2011.

Dubbed the "British Bill Gates", Mr Lynch has been in the headlines in recent months over a high-profile fraud case related to the sale of Autonomy to HP in 2011.

HP accused him of deliberately overstating the value of the company before it was acquired by the American technology firm. Mr Lynch denied any wrongdoing.

In June, a US jury cleared him of all charges .

Her former school, Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith, west London, said they are "incredibly shocked by the news that Hannah and her father are among those missing in this tragic incident".

Angela Bacares

Mr Lynch's wife Angela Bacares was on board the yacht and was rescued. She confirmed to Italian media that her husband and daughter are missing.

The 57-year-old said she and Mr Lynch were awoken by the boat "tilting" at 4am - half an hour before it sank.

Jonathan Bloomer

Jonathan Bloomer, the chairman of investment bank Morgan Stanley International, was on board the yacht and is missing.

According to the Financial Times, Mr Bloomer appeared as a defence witness for Mr Lynch during his US criminal trial and the pair are believed to be good friends. He also chaired Autonomy's audit committee.

The 70-year-old was the chief executive of UK-Hong Kong insurer Prudential until he was ousted by the board in 2005.

He is also chairman of the insurance provider Hiscox, which confirmed he is missing.

Judy Bloomer

Mr Bloomer's wife Judy was also on board the yacht and is missing.

Hiscox said in its statement: "Our thoughts are with all those affected, in particular our chair, Jonathan Bloomer, and his wife Judy, who are among the missing."

Mrs Bloomer is on the board of The Eve Appeal charity, which focuses on gynaecological cancers.

The charity described her as a "brilliant champion for women's health and medical research... an incredible supporter, committee member, and trustee of our charity for over 20 years".

In a recent LinkedIn post, he thanked the legal team that helped win Mr Lynch's trial.

Signing off the post, he said: "And, finally, a huge thank you to my patient and incredible wife, Neda Morvillo, and my two strong, brilliant, and beautiful daughters, Sabrina Morvillo and Sophia Morvillo.

"None of this would have been possible without your love and support. I am so glad to be home. And they all lived happily ever after…."

Neda Morvillo

Alli Dore Opens Up About Facing Sydney Zaruba at the "Emotional" Below Deck Sailing Yacht Reunion

"I think I cried for like an hour after," the Parsifal III  stew said of filming the Season 2 sit-down.

2 deck yacht

We can't wait to see the Below Deck Sailing Yacht crew come together for what is sure to be a jaw-dropping virtual reunion , which kicks off with Part 1 on Monday, June 21 at 9/8c, followed by Part 2 on Tuesday, June 22 at 9/8c.

How to Watch

Watch Below Deck Sailing Yacht on Peacock and the Bravo app .

As much as we're looking forward to seeing all of the  Parsifal III  yachties, we have to admit that we're especially eager to see how Alli Dore and Sydney Zaruba interact, given the fact that they were involved in a love triangle with Gary King . The above sneak peek teases that that will definitely be on the agenda for the reunion, leading to what looks like some tense moments for the yachties.

Alli also dished more on what we can expect from the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 reunion in a recent interview with E! News . "OK, put it this way, after we finished filming the reunion I was so emotionally jarred," she shared. "I think I cried for like an hour after. It was the overwhelm of the whole season. That was my first time seeing Sydney as well, and I felt quite emotional about that."

Not only was it difficult to deal with everything that went down during the charter season, but Alli also said that it was hard hearing some of the comments Sydney made about her while watching the show back. "The whole situation that was happening with Sydney and myself, I thought we were better friends than it seems like we were," she explained. "And I've definitely seen some things, some comments that have genuinely hurt my feelings."

Catch Up on BDSY Season 3 in the Free Bravo App!

Although Alli said that it all happened "so long ago," she admitted that she's still processing everything. "My feelings are hurt now, and I'm feeling it now," she said. "That's been the part that's been the most disappointing for me."

In her Instagram Stories earlier this week, Alli reflected more on Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2, opening up about the challenges of having cameras around 24/7 as well as experiencing the loss of her grandfather while away on charter. She also said that her one regret from the season was the night she got upset at Gary for sitting in the hot tub with a topless Sydney .

"I do have one regret, that is losing my cool on last week's episode," Alli said, referencing the June 7 episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht . "I let the behaviour of others upset me and I would rather walk away and hold my head high [than] let them see [me] sweat, but hey I'm still human!"

Alli Dore Sydney Zaruba Drama 01

As for where Alli stands with Sydney today? "You will have to watch the final episode tomorrow and the reunion for the answer to that one!" Alli also teased in her Instagram Stories.

Alli and Sydney, along with the other Parsifal III yachties , open up more about what it was like rooming together, as well as what they've been up to since the charter season ended in the below exclusive look at the Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2 reunion courtesy of Bravo Insider .
