After a fire left the yacht with significant damage, Attessa underwent a major refit project in 2005 to be reborn as a completely different vessel. Highly acclaimed for the outstanding work behind her transformation, Attessa is a 68.58 metre superyacht with distinctive style set upon a deep blue steel hull and white, striking aluminium superstructure.

Her beam of 11 metres provides ample space within, while her Glade Johnson Interior provides a rich, sophisticated surrounding with space for 10 guests. Capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, with a range of 5500 nautical miles, Attessa and her dedicated crew of 15 is built to create both a smooth cruising experience, and a luxurious one.

A General Description of Motor Yacht ATTESSA III

This motor yacht ATTESSA III is a 69 m 225 (foot) significant steel luxury yacht which was developed by The Feadship Royal Van Lent Shipyard and conceived by De Voogt Naval Architects and Andrew Winch. Accommodating 10 passengers and 14 professional crew, motor yacht ATTESSA III was previously known as Lady Aviva; Aviva which was her project name or yacht title. Completed by 1998 her reasonably modern interior decoration reflects the essence of the design work of Andrew Winch.

The Build & Design of Luxury Yacht ATTESSA III

De Voogt Naval Architects was the naval architecture company involved in the formal nautical plans for ATTESSA III. Her interior design was conceived by Andrew Winch. De Voogt Naval Architects and Andrew Winch is also associated with the yacht general design work for this yacht. the Netherlands is the country that The Feadship Royal Van Lent Shipyard constructed their new build motor yacht in. After her official launch in 1998 in Kaag the boat was then released to the yacht owner after final finishing. Her hull was built out of steel. The motor yacht main superstructure is made for the most part using aluminium. With a beam of 11.3 metres or 37 feet ATTESSA III has fairly large size. A deep draught of 3.6m (11.8ft) determines the list of overall marinas she can enter, taking into account their particular characteristics. She had refit improvement and changes completed in 2005.

Fitted with twin CATERPILLAR diesel engines, ATTESSA III is able to reach a high speed of 16 knots. She is driven by twin screw propellers. She also has an economical range of 5500 nautical miles when underway at her cruise speed of 14 knots. Her total HP is 4000 HP and her total Kilowatts are 2943. With respect to bow thrusters she was built with / Stern. For stabalisers she was supplied with Flume Tank.

The award winning 101.2m/332' motor yacht 'Attessa IV' (ex. Evergreen) was built by Evergreen Shipyard at their Nagasaki shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Felix Buytendijk Yacht Design and delivered in May 1999. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Diana Yacht Design.

Attessa IV features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels. Her water tanks store around 105,000 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register classification society rules, and is MCA Compliant.

An elite racing yacht is the subject of a military, police and ambulance service rescue 150kms east of the New South Wales couth coast.

There are two people onboard the 19-metre Spirit of Mateship off the coast when a mechanical issue caused the vessel to take on water.

It is currently 185km east of Nowra, in the Shoalhaven region.

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (ASMA) received an emergency alert from the Spirit of Mateship at 12.40pm on Monday.

NSW Police said the yacht sustained a mechanical issue and began taking on water.

Publicly available flight data shows a rescue helicopter flew to the yacht, but as at 6.30pm AEST the helicopter was about halfway back to the mainland.

It is understood the helicopter was not able to take on the passengers.

A military transport plane and two Navy ships are now included in the rescue effort.

Those military ships are the HMAS Arunta, HMAS Canberra and a Royal Australian Air Force C-130J Hercules aircraft.

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority is leading the search and rescue operation.

Police are involved in the operation, and say “officers are expected to rendezvous with the vessel about midnight”.

The Spirit of Mateship has raced in multiple Sydney to hobart yacht races.

NSW Police said that about 1pm on Monday the Marine Area Command and Defence Force were notified a 19-metre yacht had activated a distress beacon about 150km offshore from Nowra.

“The vessel is believed to have sustained a mechanical issue and is taking on water. There are no reports of any injuries,” the police say.

The helicopter which flew out to the vessel is the Toll Ambulance Rescue chopper, which left from Bankstown and is headed for Wollongong.

NSW Ambulance has been approached for comment about what assistance, if any, the rescue helicopter provided.

Conditions in the region have been treacherous.

Brutal winds knocked out power and phone lines across Tasmania and Victoria overnight and into Monday, while the area of the New South Wales coast where the yacht has gotten into trouble is subject to wind warnings.

Nowra is right in the middle of wind warnings for the NSW south coast, which is experiencing 60 to 70km/h breezes with 100km/h gusts on Monday.
