Riva 102 Corsaro Super GIO4 Description
Breathtakingly beautiful on both the outside and the inside, the Riva 100 Corsaro sports a hull and superstructure in Shark Grey - a metallic shade that has become a “modern classic” in the Riva fleet - and lustrous Bright Black for the detail work of the superstructure. The interior design is a veritable masterpiece created by top Italian names.
MAIN DECK The cockpit boasts a large outdoor table, a long sofa aft and three sophisticated Seax chairs by Dedon with armrests finished in wood. The structural sofas and sun pads on the exteriors are all covered with Mambo Pearl Light technical fabric in silver and platinum hues, which tastefully complement the metallic tones and the teak flooring. The interiors on the main deck perfectly express the unmistakable Riva style and are the result of a joint effort among Officina Italiana Design, the Product Strategy Committee and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. Striped walnut wood appears alongside polished stainless steel frames, matte enamel accents in white and Seal Brown, and generous expanses of dark brown leather cover the ceilings, bulwarks and some items of furniture, such as the custom-made coffee table in the lounge. Overlooking the latter is an L-shaped Andersen sofa in ecru by Minotti, adorned with dulce-coloured Hermès cashmere cushions. The two Brooklyn chairs by Poltrona Frau are in a scarlet hue. A splendid Flos table lamp rounds out the interior design, while the curtains covering the side windows and large glass aft door are by Zimmer & Rohde.A refined touch in the formal dining area is the magnificent Calacatta marble flooring, on top of which stands a large Acerbis International table with a glass top, surrounded by eight Fitzgerald chairs by Poltrona Frau in an attractive shade of cream. In the forward area, a generous storage cabinet in solid wood is set into the leather-lined wall.Beyond the lounge, a large starboard galley with dinette leads to the crew quarters. It is equipped with Miele appliances, as well as a Teppanyaki cooktop, a wine fridge and a GE side-by-side refrigerator.Access to the guest accommodation is from the portside lobby, which also features a day head with floors, washbasin and fittings crafted in Calacatta marble, dark enamel and wood. The wide-body owner’s suite occupies the entire forward area and is finished in the same select materials as in the lounge: striped walnut wood, dark brown leather, white lacquer and polished stainless steel. A stylish red leather Hermès chair is placed next to a vanity unit, which opens up to reveal a mirror and storage compartments.Adorning the central double bed are pillows, bedspread and coverlet by Ivano Redaelli, and a dulce-coloured Hermès cashmere cushion. The bed faces a mirrored wall with a TV screen. To port, two steps lead down to the full-beam bathroom dominated by a central double sink in Magic Brown marble and a large mirror set in a polished stainless steel frame. The same marble is used for the floors, including the separate shower cubicle. The taps are by Elka and other bathroom accessories are by Pomd’Or.
The same decorative approach is found in the guest bathrooms, except that Amani Brown marble replaces the Magic Brown marble.
HELM STATION A majestic, raised helm station opens up onto a broad view forward and to the sides. Steering and navigation systems are placed opposite the captain's ergonomic seat upholstered in black leather, behind which is a large dinette finished in leather in a beautiful shade of cognac for enjoying the cruising experience in luxurious comfort.
LOWER DECK At the entrance to the main area below deck is a large lobby with a mirrored wall and ample storage compartments, which opens up onto the four guest cabins: two VIP cabins aft, a double cabin forward on the port side, and a twin cabin to starboard. The décor echoes that of the main deck with an elegant interplay of tones, textures and materials that includes several types of wood, surfaces in white enamel, polished stainless steel frames and trim, and plentiful dark brown leather. The beds are positioned opposite mirrored walls, into which a TV screen has been set.The careful attention paid to even the smallest details is evidenced by the decision to conceal several practical features: the top of the night tables, for example, slides forward to open and reveals a storage compartment with electrical outlets. The reading lamps from BCM boast a frame upholstered with leather. The soft furnishings are equally sophisticated: a saddle-shaped leather Hermès ottoman with a concealed storage compartment provides a place to sit in front of the vanity unit. An Ivano Redaelli bedspread and pillows add a decorative touch.
FLYBRIDGE A hard top protects the central part of the panoramic deck, which features a dining area on the port side. The table is surrounded by an L-shaped built-in sofa and 3 Seax outdoor chairs by Dedon with wooden armrests. On the starboard side, a cocktail bar in teak is set into a polished stainless steel frame, where drinks are served to guests seated on two stools in teak and polished stainless steel. All the furniture in the panoramic cockpit is free-standing and designed by Paola Lenti, including two Sand lounge chairs and two Orlando sofas with moveable backrests, positioned in an L-shape, are complemented by six decorative cushions and three Strap aluminium exterior side tables. The latter feature a distinctive central handle made of rope, so they can be moved more easily. The finishing touches are added by silver and aquamarine Agadir floor and table lanterns.
OUTSIDE FORWARD AREA The entire panoramic cockpit on the flybridge is protected, as is the forward lounge, by broad curtains in anthracite grey, supported by a carbon fibre frame. The private area in the deckhouse is furnished with a large central sunpad and boasts a C-shaped sofa and a custom-made ottoman, which also serves as a low-boy table with a teak tray for serving delicious aperitifs in absolute privacy.

Five bodies found inside superyacht that sank off Sicily
PORTICELLO, Sicily — Divers recovered four bodies Wednesday from inside a superyacht that sank in a sudden storm off Sicily , Salvatore Cocina, director of the island's Civil Protection Agency, confirmed to NBC News.
Cocina later confirmed to Sky News that a fifth body had been found and was being brought to shore. One passenger remains missing.
The identities of the bodies were not immediately released. Their recovery follows a dayslong search in the deep waters off Italy where British tech tycoon Mike Lynch and several others were believed to be trapped in the hull. Fifteen of the 22 people aboard survived.
The rest had been missing since early Monday, when the Bayesian was caught in the storm anchored off the coast of Porticello, a village near the Sicilian capital city, Palermo.
The body of the ship’s cook, identified as Recaldo Thomas, a Canadian Antiguan national, was recovered Monday.
On Wednesday, NBC News witnessed what appeared to be at least three body bags being lifted from fire department boats after they pulled into port at Porticello. It was unclear whose bodies they were. Some were later transferred to ambulances and driven away from the dock.
Lynch’s 18-year-old daughter, Hannah; Morgan Stanley International Chairman Jonathan Bloomer and his wife, Judy; and Clifford Chance lawyer Chris Morvillo and his wife, Neda, are also missing.
The Bayesian is owned by a firm linked to Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares, who was among the survivors rescued by a nearby vessel after they got into a lifeboat.
Built by the Italian shipbuilder Perini Navi in 2008, the U.K.-registered yacht could carry 12 guests and a crew of up to 10, according to online specialist boating sites. Its nearly 250-foot mast is the tallest aluminum sailing mast in the world, according to CharterWorld Luxury Yacht Charters.
Regularly described in U.K. media as “Britain’s Bill Gates,” Lynch was acquitted of fraud by a San Francisco jury this year, stemming from the sale of his software company Autonomy to Hewlett-Packard for $11 billion in 2011.
The Mediterranean sailing vacation was designed to be a celebration for Lynch, who brought Bloomer, who testified in his defense, and Morvillo, one of his U.S. lawyers, on the trip.
Lynch's co-defendant Stephen Chamberlain was not aboard the Bayesian, but in what appears to be a tragic coincidence, a car struck and killed him Saturday as he was jogging in a village about 68 miles north of London, local police said.
Claudio Lavanga and Claudia Rizzo reported from Porticello. Henry Austin reported from London.

Final Body Is Recovered From Yacht That Sank Off Sicily
Hannah Lynch, the 18-year-old daughter of the British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch, was on board a yacht that was hit by a storm and went down in the early hours on Monday.

By Emma Bubola and Elisabetta Povoledo
Emma Bubola reported from Porticello, Italy, and Elisabetta Povoledo from Pallanza, Italy.
For nearly a week after a violent storm sent a luxury yacht to the bottom of the sea off the coast of Sicily, Italian scuba divers plunged deep underwater, moving through ropes and fallen objects inside the yacht in a desperate search for the six people missing.
On Friday, the recovery of the body of Hannah Lynch, 18, put an end to the wrenching search and to the slim hopes that any of the missing people might have survived.
Ms. Lynch, the daughter of the British tech entrepreneur Mike Lynch, who also died in the yacht’s sinking, was the last person to be formally unaccounted for since Monday after tragedy struck a group that had been celebrating her father’s acquittal in a high-profile fraud case.
There were 10 crew members and 12 passengers on board the 180-foot vessel, the Bayesian, when it was hit by a storm and went down about 4.30 a.m. on Monday, the boat’s management company said on Friday.
Fifteen survived.
The body of the ship’s cook, Recaldo Thomas, was found on Monday, a few hours after a downpour hit the northwestern coast of Sicily, near the port of Porticello, where the yacht had been anchored.
But it took several days to recover the bodies of the six passengers who were apparently trapped inside the yacht: Mr. Lynch and Ms. Lynch; Jonathan Bloomer, the chairman of Morgan Stanley International; his wife, Judy Bloomer; Christopher J. Morvillo, a lawyer at Clifford Chance; and his wife, Neda Morvillo.
On Friday, a round of applause could be heard from the firefighter’s tent set up on the dock in Porticello after the last body was pulled out in what the corps described as a “complex” search operation at a depth of about 165 feet. The firefighters said they had made 123 immersions into the sea to try to retrieve the bodies.
The body bag was then loaded onto an ambulance. A local man had left a small wooden cross on the rocks in front of the dock where the bodies were brought ashore.
Mr. Lynch’s wife, Angela Bacares, was among those who managed to reach the safety of a raft. They were rescued by a sailing schooner that had been bobbing about 150 yards from the yacht.
In a statement, the family thanked the search teams and said that it was enduring a “time of unspeakable grief.”
“The Lynch family is devastated, in shock and is being comforted and supported by family and friends,” the statement added.
As prosecutors from the nearby city of Termini Imerese began conducting interviews with the survivors and possible witnesses, the crew and passengers of the Bayesian have been confined to a local hotel, where the news media have been denied access.
Salvatore Cocina, the head of Sicily’s civil protection agency, said on Thursday that the survivors had turned down the psychological assistance his department had offered to them.
In Porticello, the sprawling presence of rescue services made a haunting backdrop for an otherwise tranquil port town. People sunbathed and ate ricotta-filled pastries, and stores selling sandals and dried fruit opened as normal, while coast guard and firefighting vessels came and went from the shore, taking scuba divers out to the shipwreck.
Other reminders of the tragedy could be seen along the coast, among palm trees and ice cream shops, with groups of onlookers staring out at the sea, now tranquil and flat.
Local and national news organizations have complained that prosecutors have not issued a statement or held a news conference. Prosecutors may shed more light on the yacht’s sinking when they hold a news conference on Saturday.
The marine accident investigation branch of the British transportation ministry was also looking into the shipwreck of the vessel, which was registered in Britain.
One of the major questions is what caused the boat to sink: Was it the fault of the boat maker, of the crew or of a powerful act of nature — or some combination of the three? None of those who were onboard the Bayesian have spoken publicly.
The luxury yacht, built by the Italian manufacturer Perini Navi and launched in 2008, had the second-tallest aluminum mast in the world, according to its makers.
Giovanni Costantino, the chief executive of the Italian Sea Group, which in 2022 bought Perini Navi, has been assertive in defending the design and construction of the yacht, saying that the Bayesian would be “unsinkable” if the proper procedures were followed.
But yacht design experts have cautioned that the lesson of the Titanic, the ocean liner that sank on its 1912 maiden voyage, showed that no vessel, no matter how robust, was worthy of that label.
Nautilus International, a maritime-focused labor union, criticized any implication that the crew had been at fault, especially at this stage. In a statement , the union’s general secretary, Mark Dickinson, said, “Experience tells us that maritime tragedies are always the result of multiple, interconnected factors,” and he urged people to refrain from drawing any conclusions until a thorough investigation had been carried out.
The investigation into the causes will take months, prosecutors said.

4 bodies found during search of sunken yacht off Sicily
Divers have found four bodies as they search the wreckage of a sunken superyacht off the coast of Sicily.
The discovery of the bodies came Wednesday as rescuers were searching for six people who were reported missing since Monday.
The bodies were found when rescuers had gone underwater to search inside the hull of the yacht, AP said. Authorities indicated that that mission was a recovery one, given the amount of time that's passed since the sinking and because there were no signs of life exhibited during search efforts over the past three days.
Rescue crews were seen unloading two body bags at a port in Porticello on Wednesday.
Among the six reported missing were British tech mogul Mike Lynch — who was recently acquitted of fraud in the U.S. — and his 18-year-old daughter Hannah Lynch.

Also missing were Mike Lynch's lawyer Chris Morvillo, who represented him in the fraud trial, and his jewelry designer wife Neda Morvillo. Jonathan Bloomer, chairman of the Morgan Stanley International bank and insurance company Hiscox was also missing, alongside his wife Judy Bloomer. Jonathan Bloomer recently served as a defense witness in Lynch's fraud case.
It is being reported in British media that Italian authorities believe two of the recovered bodies are of Mike Lynch and his daughter Hannah.
Two people remain unaccounted for.
The yacht sank in a storm early Monday. Fifteen people escaped via a lifeboat and were rescued by a nearby sailboat. Civil protection officials believe the yacht was struck by a tornado over the water, AP said.
The UK's Marine Accident Investigation branch is launching an investigation into the watercraft's sinking.
Italian authorities say the British investigation is not involved at this point in search, recovery and rescue missions, but will be at some point being that the Bayesian yacht involved in the incident was British-flagged.

4 Bodies Recovered from Sunken Yacht in Sicily Where 6 Were Missing, Source Says, but Identities Unclear
PERINI NAVI PRESS OFFICE/HANDOUT/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock
Four bodies have been recovered from the yacht that sank off the coast of Sicily this week , a person involved in the search and rescue operation confirms to PEOPLE.
Their identities were not immediately clear.
Six passengers had remained missing after the Bayesian went into the water early on Monday, Aug. 19, following a storm.
The missing were identified as Mike Lynch , a British tech entrepreneur, and his daughter Hannah , as well as Chairman of Morgan Stanley International Jonathan Bloomer, his wife, Judy , and New York City-based lawyer Christopher Morvillo and his wife, Neda.
The Bayesian , a 183-foot vessel, sank around 5 a.m. local time on Monday while off the coast of Porticello, the Italian coast guard said in a statement that was previously obtained by PEOPLE.

At the time there were 22 people on board, including 12 passengers and 10 crew, per the coast guard.
In the aftermath of the sinking, 15 people were soon rescued, according to the coast guard, while a body was also retrieved near the vessel and later identified in news reports as the chef, Ricardo Thomas.
Lynch's wife, Angela Bacares, is one of the individuals who was rescued, PEOPLE previously reported.

A source close to the survivors told PEOPLE that the passengers were celebrating after Lynch was acquitted in June in a financial fraud trial in the U.S.
“That's why he took his closest friends and colleagues on the trip,” the source said.
Morvillo had represented Lynch in the fraud case and other firm employees were on the Bayesian as well, a spokesperson for Clifford Chance, his law firm, said in a statement.
Lynch later told Britain’s Sunday Times in a July 27 story that he would’ve died while serving his prison sentence due to his age and lung infection had he been convicted.
“I have various medical things that would have made it difficult to survive,” Lynch, a father of two children — Hannah, 18, and another daughter, 21 — told the paper.
After reports of the tech entrepreneur’s disappearance, Danny Fortson, who interviewed Lynch for the Sunday Times story, said he was "reeling."
"The terrible irony is that when we sat down last month, he made it clear that he felt he had won a new lease on life, that his acquittal in America gave him a “second life,’ ” Fortson wrote in a social media post.
Witnesses said the Bayesian was anchored in front of the Porticello port when the storm struck in the early morning hours on Monday, per Italian newspaper Giornale di Sicilia .
"That boat was all lit up," a man told the newspaper.
"At about 4:30 in the morning it was gone," the man said. "A beautiful boat where there had been a party. A normal day of vacation spent happily at sea turned into a tragedy.”
