Luminance is a custom motor yacht launched in 2023 by Lurssen Yachts, in Germany.

Lürssen has remained a family-run German shipyard since its inception in 1875 and is now in its fourth generation of private ownership. The company was founded by Friedrich Lürssen with a desire to create a leading shipyard in both quality and performance.

Luminance measures 145 metres in length and has a beam of 20 feet. She has a deck material of grp.

Luminance has a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure.

For over twenty-five years Espen Oeino International has been hard at work designing custom motor yachts for an international clientele from Japan in the East to Seattle in the West.

Her interior design is by Zuretti.

The majestic 145m (476ft) superyacht LUMINANCE , crafted by the renowned shipyard Lürssen , has successfully been delivered. Fresh from the docks of the Bremen Vegesack facility in Germany, this impressive motor yacht, weighing in at 9,861 gross tons, embarked from Lürssen's Lemwerder site and is on her way to be united with her owner in the picturesque setting of Kristiansand, Norway .

First spotted as a complete motor yacht during her initial sea trials in April 2023, superyacht LUMINANCE has been engineered for opulence, equipped with dual touch-and-go helipads, which are conveniently located at the bow and on the upper deck aft for seamless arrivals and departures.

Presenting a striking silhouette with her elongated bow and a rich deep blue hull, exteriors for superyacht LUMINANCE have been penned by Espen Øino International, while the sumptuous interiors owe their elegance to the creative minds at Zuretti Interior Design, with the vessel's naval architecture being meticulously outlined by Lürssen Yachts themselves.

Across her four decks, LUMINANCE is a sanctuary of leisure, boasting dual lavish Jacuzzis on her upper deck and a sprawling swimming pool at the stern, promising indulgent relaxation. Also featuring secluded foredeck terraces on multiple decks, guests onboard can make the most of private retreats to savor the unrolling scenes throughout the Mediterranean . Moreover, guests can unwind in the spacious lounge areas situated on the aft decks, where panoramic seascape views await.

Luminance is a beacon of light and space, thanks to her abundant use of expansive windows that invite the sun to illuminate her palatial interior spaces. As of now, she proudly stands as the eighth largest yacht to emerge from the esteemed Lürssen shipyard, marking yet another milestone in their legacy of luxury yacht construction.

1 dead and 6 missing after luxury superyacht sinks in storm off Sicily

ROME (AP) — A luxury superyacht carrying foreign tourists capsized and sank off Sicily in bad weather. One body was found, six people remain missing and 15 people were rescued, authorities said. The ship had overturned around 5 a.m. off the port of Porticello. It had a crew of 10 people and 12 passengers, including British, American and Canadian nationalities, the Italian coast guard said. Local media said a sudden fierce storm, including tornados over water known as waterspouts, had battered the area overnight but skies were clear and seas calm by Monday morning. Eight of the people initially rescued were hospitalized. The British-flagged “Bayesian,” was known for its unusually single 246-feet mast.

One dead and six people missing after tornado sinks luxury yacht off Sicily

(CNN) — One body has been recovered and six people are missing, according to Italian authorities, after a luxury yacht sank off the coast of Sicily.

A tornado hit the vessel around 5 a.m. Monday, according to a spokesperson for Italy’s Coast Guard. The yacht was anchored about a half a mile from the port of Porticello on the Mediterranean island.

Fifteen people have been rescued from the scene and one child was airlifted to the children’s hospital in Palermo. The captain is among the survivors, according to the Coast Guard spokesperson for Italy’s Coast Guard.

The 56-meter yacht called the “Bayesian,” which flies under a British flag, had mostly British passengers and crew, in addition to two Anglo-French, one New Zealander, one Irish and one Sri Lankan, the spokesperson told CNN.

The Italian fire brigade said its divers had reached the yacht’s hull 49 meters (160 feet) below sea level, according to a press statement. The brigade also dispatched helicopters to bolster the search operation.
