5 best restaurants in the Portofino Yacht Club neighborhood

1. Call me Gaby

I put this one at the top of my list because it is the one I go the most often to. The outdoor décor with its flourishing bougainvillea and colorful cushions reminds me of the French Riviera.

It is located right in front of the Portofino Yacht Club on Washington Avenue and it has an outdoor lounge area great for happy hour as well as a seated outdoor and indoor area.

The food is delicious, simple and inexpensive. The little gem salad with shrimps as well as the huge tuna salad for the healthy clients or the pizza, focaccia, pasta alle vongole for the epicureans.

2. Prime One Twelve

This one is also walking distance from the Portofino Yacht Club but a little bit further, on Ocean Drive. This is the best restaurant in Miami if you are a meat lover. Their Bone-In ribeye is to die for. As a side, I usually go for the slow-roasted Brussel sprouts or the five cheese truffle mac. Be ready to wait at the bar for your table to be ready since this place is always packed.

The famous Milos is located one block from the Yacht Club at Portofino . The people scene and the food are the best in town.

Try their special lunch for $29 which is a three-course meal with Greek Meze, a delicious Dorade Royale and their traditional Greek Yogurt.

4. Smith and Wollensky

The best scenery in Miami. Enjoy the sunset at the outdoor bar while the cruise ships and the cargo ships pass in front of you. Smith and Wollensky in Miami is the place to put on your bucket list. Their seafood and meat selection is what makes it my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. From the Portofino Yacht Club , you just stroll along the boardwalk and you’ll end up there.

As an appetizer, you have to share with your loved ones their flatbread. Simple and delicious. Their classic pea soup is also not to be forgotten. As a main, I usually go for their Bone-In New York cut with creamed spinach and hand-cut French fries. They also have a great wine selection but my favorite is their Sauvignon blanc from New Zealand.

5. Le Piment

This one is newly added to the food scene in South Pointe. Very casual but very good French quality food. Just across Alton road from the Portofino Yacht Club . My advice is to try the Escargots but if you feel more traditional go for the Ravioles de Royan. As a main, the chicken supreme is simple but very delicate and tender. Don’t forget the French fries! As a desert opts for their chocolate mousse, you won’t be disappointed.

The Yacht Club Portofino, has opened its doors to the public. Located near Genoa on the Italian Riviera, Portofino is a beautiful fishing village and upmarket resort famous for its picturesque harbour and historical association with celebrity visitors.

Five years in the making, owner Giovanni Copello’s dream was to turn Pitosforo, the oldest and arguably, the most beautiful club in Portofino, Italy in to a new and improved yacht club. His goal was to combine the usual members-only VIP lounge areas for captains and owners to relax and do business in, with the services of a yacht agency. Going against the grain, Giovanni also wanted to make the club available to everyone, while still providing a haven for his luxury yacht clients.

“My dream was to open the best yacht club in Italy and for everyone to be able to share in my dream,” says Copello. “By day the club is open to yacht members only, giving captains, owners and crew a space to relax and enjoy themselves, we have inside and outside seating areas facing the harbor, a bar stocked with the finest drinks and the fastest WiFi in Portofino.”

There is still an exclusive members only area so that regular yachting visitors can enjoy the same benefits whatever time they visit, says Copello. There are also a series of private rooms that captains and owners can book, while the rest of the club is open to everyone. The club has already become a ‘go to’ venue for celebrities, tourists and locals alike.

The club’s main lounge is open from 7 am to 10 pm with a concierge available to answer all questions connected with the club’s yacht business. For its yacht clients, the club offers a full range of services, including port booking, clearance, shore service as well as car and limousine services.

Seafood cuisine between dreams and reality.

Overlooking the sea of the Gulf of Tigullio, in the beating heart of the charming Ligurian seaside town of Portofino. Here is the spectacular restaurant of Chef Carlo Cracco. Chef Carlo Cracco’s scenic restaurant is located here.

A real journey through the evocative scents and flavours of the regional tradition reinterpreted by the skilled hands of the Chef in a contemporary key, to be tasted in a sophisticated environment suspended between dreams and reality.

The Location

The rebirth of a historical-symbolic place of portofino.

Cracco Portofino opens in 2021, where the historical Pitosforo restaurant once used to stand. An architectural project with attention to the smallest details by Studio Peregalli of Milan, which was able to masterfully preserve the original magic of the place.

A destination that was a point of reference in the life of this magical Italian town since the 1950s, thanks to a strategic position overlooking the small port with its breathtaking view of the famous “piazzetta” and the Gulf of Tigullio.

A sophisticated and at the same time simple and fresh atmosphere , capable of being charming both in the golden light of the day and in the soft light of the evening.

Rock, stone, wood, straw, bamboo, but also mirrors, glass and ceramics: these are the materials that create aharmonious correspondence between this place and the surrounding area: it’s like living inside a postcard.

Strategically positioned in front of themooring of large yachts, Cracco Portofino will also offer a catering service for boats, with the possibility of welcoming a chef on board to prepare special lunches or dinners.

Here our Chef Mattia Pecis , with the help ofMrs. Iva, cultivates the first fruits that are brought to the table.

We choose to work only with fish from the Gulf of Tigullio , not only for a sustainable choice, but also to give value to the context in which we live. We do always the best we can, with what we have at hand and with what most defines who we are.

The Kitchen

The menu is entrusted to Chef Mattia Pecis, a young talent who grew up in the team of the Cracco restaurant and who under the guidance of Chef Carlo Cracco proposes a responsible research path, bringing to the table the best that the land has to offer.

There are also Chef Cracco’s iconic dishes reinterpreted in a Ligurian key: the Caramelised Russian Salad, the marinatedegg yolk, the “Preboggion”, the Pansoti prepared by hand and the Purple Shrimp from Santa Margherita Ligure.

The Cellar is supplied weekly by our mother cellar in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele in Milan, which has been awarded the Grand Award by Wine Spectator for over three years.
