Delivered in 2010, the 90-meter luxury yacht Phoenix² has a distinctively elegant and streamlined profile. The Winch Design team, which was responsible for both exterior and interior, equipped her with more than 100 meters of polished stainless steel handrails. The imaginative use of fabrics and furniture, influenced by styles popular in 1930's New York, combines comfort, elegance and practicality in line with the owner’s tastes. A spectacular sky lounge opens out to an inside/outside dining area, complete with glass screens for dining with a view in different weather. New York and its skyline were the inspiration for this yacht’s styling, from the Empire State skyscrapers on the bar stools in the sky lounge bar, lit by uplighters reminiscent of the torch held by the Statue of Liberty, to the firebird figurehead that looks as if it may have flown in from the Chrysler Building. Everything, from the door handles to the cutlery, is hand-made, each a work of art in its own right.

From the ballroom, move aft past the full-height windows, circular lounge and onto the aft deck, where a spiral staircase leads up to the upper deck and the emphasis on good times continues. Past the buffet lounge is a winter garden with guest dining in open air or climate control, as conditions dictate, then continue down the boardwalk-style sidedecks to the jacuzzi lounge.

After a night of revelry, head to the bridge deck. Take the rivetted-aluminium spiral staircase or the elevator, which runs from the tank deck, home to the Radio City-inspired cinema with popcorn maker, to the bridge deck, and you’ll find a gym overlooking the aft helipad (there is a second on the foredeck). Sweat it out in the hammam or have a massage in the beauty salon. After that, the sun deck beckons, with its 7m (23ft) oval pool with skylights filtering natural light into the lobby below. Then soak up the sun or snooze in the shade on the sunpads and sun lounges.

To get ashore, take the elevator to the lower deck lobby where one of two 10m (32.8ft) tenders is waiting to take you wherever you want to go. For using an armada of watertoys however, the place to be is the 4m (13.1ft)-deep swim platform, complete with hydraulic bathing steps.

The full-beam owner’s suite, forward on the main deck, is similarly bewitching. Accessed from the main deck or via a glass spiral staircase from the owner’s private observation lounge and office on the upper deck. The circular sweep of the windows and their wraparound views is echoed in the black circle in the carpet and the recessed lighting overhead. A spectacular his-and-hers bathrooms in contrasting marbles features a bath and a steam shower and one of the walk-in wardrobes can be concealed should her new owner wish to operate her commercially.

With a range of 6,000nm and Quantum stabilisers, this impeccably maintained 2,667GT yacht, defies limits on what is possible.

The imaginative use of furnishings, fabrics and furniture on this Lürssen yacht is influenced by the New York 1930’s era, is incorporated into her unique general arrangement which has been carefully designed to provide the clients with exactly the style and practicality of the yacht they require.

A beautiful full beam Deco Duplex apartment for the owner’s suite offers unrivalled and undisturbed views out to sea. Entertainment Equipment

• The Audio-Visual system was upgraded in 2016.  The system now comprises of Savant Control System that links all of the system components into one easy to use application.  The application is installed on iPads.  The host server for the system uses an Apple Mac Mini.  
• The system is networked through fibre optic cables from the Cisco core switches in the tank deck AV room to Cisco 48 port switches on each deck level, the back-haul between switches is 20GB. Each of the services to the individual locations is maintained in the tank deck AV room and directed through JAP port switching devices upon request from the iPad controls.  The AV room on the tank deck is kept at a very cold 18°C / 64°F. The individual components that make up the services of the complete system are listed below.
• It is possible to play the same music selection in any guest area whether inside or outside, or conversely have different music playing in different areas. So, adults in the upper salon, Wintergarden and upper deck aft listening to classic rock and the kids on the top deck, bridge deck playing Spotify favourites.

SATELLITE TV SYSTEM

• Each guest area has a dedicated satellite receiver located in the AV room.  In the EU we use a Polsat NC+ Receiver as it gets the maximum coverage and has many English Channels including HBO, Cinemax, BBC news, CNN, and many more.  In the Caribbean we use receivers from Trinidad for maximum satellite footprint

• There are 5 x Airplay device services for the guests to select in all areas of the vessel.  This means the guests can connect directly to the system speakers

• There is a music server onboard with 10 x available streams in all guest areas.  The music library holds over 16,000 songs of various and varied genres.  This is completely separate to the Radio Station selections.  The Streams are outputted to 3 x autonomic devices which also have the ability to stream Spotify and radio stations from all over the world through the internet connection

BLUERAY DVD PLAYERS     

• There are two OPPO Blue-Ray DVD players onboard, one in the upper salon and the other in the cinema.  These are there for those moments that the guests come back to the boat with a new DVD and want to watch it immediately.  Of course, if they would prefer for it to be installed on the Kaleidescape, this can be done within about 25 mins

PLAYSTATION 4     

• There are two PlayStation 4 onboard with VR goggles located in the upper salon and cinema for that all-encompassing video game experience

LIGHTING CONTROL     

• The guest area lighting for each area or cabin can be controlled by the iPad through the Savant App

CINEMA     

• The cinema is situation on tank deck level and has 7 x 2-person luxurious loungers stepped up towards the back of the room. There is a Sony 4K protector located in the cinema shining onto a 240cm/94” screen

OUTDOOR CINEMA     

• An outdoor cinema screen and projector can be setup on the sun deck for evening of fresh air cinema.  The screen is viewable from both sides, so those in the pool can watch at the same time as those on the lounges
• The TVs are mostly Samsung LCD screens throughout the guest area and cabins.  The bathroom TV are Aquavision waterproof displays

• Rotel amplifiers are used throughout the guest areas, along with Kramer digital amplifiers in certain areas

New York and its skyline were the inspiration for this yacht’s styling, from the Empire State skyscrapers on the bar stools in the sky lounge bar, lit by uplighters reminiscent of the torch held by the Statue of Liberty, to the firebird figurehead that looks as if it may have flown in from the Chrysler Building. Everything, from the door handles to the cutlery, is hand-made, each a work of art in its own right. From the ballroom, move aft past the full-height windows, circular lounge and onto the aft deck, where a spiral staircase leads up to the upper deck and the emphasis on good times continues. Past the buffet lounge is a winter garden with guest dining in open air or climate control, as conditions dictate, then continue down the boardwalk-style sidedecks to the jacuzzi lounge. After a night of revelry, head to the bridge deck. Take the rivetted-aluminium spiral staircase or the elevator, which runs from the tank deck, home to the Radio City-inspired cinema with popcorn maker, to the bridge deck, and you’ll find a gym overlooking the aft helipad (there is a second on the foredeck). Sweat it out in the hammam or have a massage in the beauty salon. After that, the sun deck beckons, with its 7m (23ft) oval pool with skylights filtering natural light into the lobby below. Then soak up the sun or snooze in the shade on the sunpads and sun lounges. To get ashore, take the elevator to the lower deck lobby where one of two 10m (32.8ft) tenders is waiting to take you wherever you want to go. For using an armada of watertoys however, the place to be is the 4m (13.1ft)-deep swim platform, complete with hydraulic bathing steps. The full-beam owner’s suite, forward on the main deck, is similarly bewitching. Accessed from the main deck or via a glass spiral staircase from the owner’s private observation lounge and office on the upper deck. The circular sweep of the windows and their wraparound views is echoed in the black circle in the carpet and the recessed lighting overhead. A spectacular his-and-hers bathrooms in contrasting marbles features a bath and a steam shower and one of the walk-in wardrobes can be concealed should her new owner wish to operate her commercially. With a range of 6,000nm and Quantum stabilisers, this impeccably maintained 2,667GT yacht, fresh from a 2019 refit, defies limits on what is possible. The Russian Federal Space Agency will launch one of its Glonass global positioning satellites (Glonass-K2 No. 13) on a Soyuz 2.1b launch vehicle into a medium Earth orbit (MEO). Glonass is the Russian (formerly Soviet) equivalent system. China has its own Beidou system and the EU has set up its Galileo system. All four systems are now fully operational. The first Glonass satellite was launched in 1982. Full coverage was established by 1995, with 24 satellites. The satellites occupy three distinct orbital planes of 8 satellites per plane, 120 degrees apart from each other. In the late 1990s, several of the original satellites started to fail. For a period of time, the failed satellites were not replaced, so the system’s capability was reduced. In 2001, the government decided to make the re-establishment of the full constellation a priority. By 2011 the constellation was fully re-established. There are three generations of the Glonass satellites: Original Glonass The Glonass-K1 satellites are the first version of Glonass to operate in a vacuum. These satellites are developed by ISS Reshetnev (Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems), their preliminary design was completed back in 2002. Previous versions of Glonass have been pressurized. This is why the mass of Glonass-K1 is much lower than previous versions (935 kg vs. 1,450 kg). Its lifespan is 10 years, three years longer than that of the Glonass-M satellites. Glonass-K2 (Uragan K2) The Glonass-K2 satellites, also known as Uragan K2, represent the fourth iteration in satellite design for the Glonass navigation system. The new generation provides navigation accuracy of less than 30 cm and features an unpressurized satellite bus (Ekspress-1000) manufactured by ISS Reshetnev. Additionally, the satellites are equipped with an advanced thermal control system that uses electrically powered thermal panels and optical thermal coating. These features allow for precise temperature maintenance of spacecraft avionics within a range of 0.1 degrees. Moreover, the Glonass-K2 satellites use a novel navigation signal known as code-protected selection. It will transmit three signal types: two in the L1 and L2 ranges for specialized users (military) and one channel in the L1 range accessible to the general public. Each satellite weighs 1,645 kg and has an operational lifetime of 10 years. What Is Soyuz 2.1b? ROSCOSMOS’s Soyuz is a multi-use medium-lift launch vehicle that was introduced in far 1966 and since then has been the workhorse of the Soviet/Russian space program. It is capable to launch civilian and military satellites, as well as cargo and crewed missions to the ISS. Over the decades, several variants of the Soyuz rocket have been developed. Soyuz 2.1b is one of its latest iterations that belongs to the Soyuz-2 rocket family. The rocket consists of three stages, all of them are expendable. When launching to the ISS, Soyuz-2 can be flown with either a Progress capsule or a Soyuz spacecraft. Soyuz 2.1b is about 46.3 meters (152 ft) in height and 2.95 meters (9 feet) in diameter. The vehicle’s total lift-off mass is approximately 312,000 kg (688,000 lb). Each one of the boosters has a conical shape and a dry weight of 3,784 kg. It is approximately 19.6 meters in length, with a diameter of 2.7 meters. Each side booster has two vernier thrusters that are used for flight control. The RD-107A engine runs on rocket-grade kerosene (RP-1) and liquid oxygen (LOx). The propellants are stored in the pressurized aluminum alloy tanks, the kerosene tank is located in the cylindrical part of the booster, and the LOx one is in the conical section. Each one of those engines have 4 combustion chambers and together they are capable of producing a thrust of 840 kN at sea level and 1,020 kN in a vacuum. Perhaps, the most spectacular moment of the Soyuz-2 rocket’s launch is the separation of the first stage. It happens approximately 2 minutes after the launch. The boosters perform a pattern, known as the “Korolev cross” (named after Sergei Korolev, a very important figure of the USSR space program and history). Fregat Upper Stage Flight qualified in 2000, the Fregat upper stage is an autonomous and flexible stage that is designed to operate as an orbital vehicle. It extends the Soyuz launcher’s capability, covering a full range of orbits (LEO, SSO, MEO, GTO, GEO and Earth escape). Fregat is independent of all the other stages, as it has its own guidance, navigation, attitude control, tracking, and telemetry systems. The S5.92 engine burns storable propellants – UDMH (unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine) and NTO (nitrogen tetroxide). The Fregat upper stage is encapsulated in a fairing with the payload and a payload adaptor/dispenser. Upgraded Fregat-M has additional ball-shaped compartments on top of its propellant tanks, which allows to increase the load capability of the propellant.
