We wanted to take 10 people to Capri. We hired a boat with Sorento Dream Charter. The boat was amazing – totally luxurious and great condition. The guys were brilliant. They really looked after us with drinks and great service. Totally recommended! 5 STAR!

Flavio is a great skipper who does everthing to make you comfortable on his yacht. The yacht is beautifull and everthing you need is on board. We also did the boat tour to Capri, a hotel or resort can’t compete with an experience like this! Recommended!

This was a really cool way to stay in Sorrento. The marina is about a ten minute drive outside of downtown Sorrento in the little town of Piano de Sorrento. Staying on a boat is a little more like upscale camping than a hotel stay. Quarters are a little tighter but you have the entire

Flavio’s yacht is wonderful, very clean and well spec’d. It is moored in the beautiful marina at Piano di Sorrento which is quiet and peaceful with some lovely restaurants. There is a lift take to you to the top of the cliffs from where you can walk to the town centre and catch a train

The boat is moored in the most beautiful small fishing village, there restaurants are 4 restaurants we eat in 3 of them and the food and service were great ?

Great place, great guy. We also booked a little boat trip with Flavio which was awesome – unfortunately we had to change boat the following morning and couldn’t do it with the one we agreed on but nevertheless we had a fab time

Boat without licence ingenito gozzo 750 40hp.

The Gozzo 750 is a typical Campania boat, suitable for discovering the wonderful waters of Sorrento and Amalfi. The gozzo has a length of 7.5 meters and a 40 HP engine, therefore a boat license is not required to navigate aboard the gozzo. In addition, the boat can carry up to 8 passengers, so you can enjoy with friends and family the wonders that the Campania sea has to offer. The cost of fuel according to consumption must be added to the daily price. You can request a skipper on board for the cost is 120 € per day. It is also possible to rent the boat with skipper and fuel included, for standard excursions (from 10h00 to 18h00) with departure and arrival from the port of Sorrento: Below is the cost, for skipper and fuel, to be added to the daily price of the boat for the different excursions - Sorrento-Capri € 180 - Sorrento-Positano € 190 - Sorrento-Amalfi € 230 - Sorrento-Capri-Positano € 230 - Sorrento-Capri-Positano-Amalfi € 260 Our VTS (vessel traffic service) satellite control network will always guarantee immediate assistance in case of need and an exclusive, easy and intuitive application will also be provided free of charge to all our guests to follow the navigation on their smartphone, full of information on the area in question. which you are browsing. The boat was great. Simple to operate. Everything worked. Service was great, great at explaining everything to do with the trip. Made a quick call to let them know we were coming back and they were there to park us up. Good gps tracker on the phone so we knew how to get back to harbour and where we could anchor etc. Pretty expensive day out though. Took full insurance when we initially booked and then there was more insurance to pay when we got there, which was optional. Only used 1/4 of a tank of fuel as we went back a bit early which still worked out at almost 50 euros to fill. Great wee day just wish the sea had been calmer.

Boat was perfect for our day trip to Capri. Lots of space and comfort

The girls at the reception were so helpful and clear with direction and so easy to talk too. The boys that helped on the boat to take us out and back in were also incredibly nice and easy to talk with. Couldn’t recommend enough for anyone thinking about hiring through them! Thanks again legends

Wonderful day on the boat. Self skippered, took it to positano and capri. It is a slower boat, 40hp, so best for those okay with being the slowest on the water. Staff was wonderful getting us started!

Rudder was loose and created a dangerous situation when the boat was hit with a wave and turned swiftly to the left and almost flipped. After this situation I needed to compensate all day constantly turning the wheel to the right. I mentioned this upon return but no compensation was offered.

The boat was great, however if you are going to Capri it is not easy to get a space in the harbour, we were advised to go to a restaurant mooring which we did, and then had to wait 1 hour to be picked up. Not the best organisation.

Superb hire for the day. Easy to control and had some really good directions from the staff. We made it to Positano and out to Capri in our time, plus a stop for a swim and some lunch. Excellent service all round. Thank you

Everything on the day was good, although we lost the anchor whilst stopped in a bay. This cost us an extra 100 Euro. If this was unavoidable perhaps instruction on how to anchor safely should be given. To us it seemed like the knot had untied. We hired the Ingenito Gozzo 750 boat for 7 of us. We got across to Capri from Sorrento, but the waves coming round the headland and from other faster/larger boats were throwing us around quite a bit. The journey back was mostly calmer. A really fun day, and the canopy on the boat was good for those who needed some shade.

Had a wonderful day with lovely Giovanni, our skipper. Great advice from Giovanni who helped us find fish when snorkelling and have us ideas of where to sail to. The boat was clean and in great condition. Reception staff in office were kind and professional and very well organised . Fantastic day!!! The boat was so quick and comfortable, easy to drive and docking at Capri was an amazing experience! It look a long time to get the briefing so leave an hour earlier than you need to be there but other than that it was a perfect, easy day!

The whole experience was great. This is the second time ive rented a boat in Sorrento and this was the best experience by far. The boat ran well and was well kept. The people were friendly, thorough, and well organized. It was the worst day to rent due to winds and choppy waters but that's on mother nature as I overheard some people complaining to the boat owners about the waves, lol. The only recommendation I would make to the owners is to try to ensure there is some way of charging your phone on the boat as the one we had, had a rusted out and broken USB port. Other then that, we'll be back next year!!

Do I need a boating license to rent a boat without a skipper?

For boats with smaller engines (which include most types of boats available for rent in and near Sorrento), a boating license is not required. However, it's best to have had a bit of experience at sea before attempting to navigate by yourself. Rent a boat wihtout skipper

I want to take a boat tour to Capri but I don't want to share the boat with other passengers... but a private boat tour is too expensive! What are my options?

You can take the public ferry to Capri and from there book a boat tour around the island. Prices for a private boat tour of Capri cost around EUR 140.

How long in advance to I need to book a tour, boat rental or Sorrento private boat hire?

In the summer (July and August), you should reserve as far in advance as possible...especially for weekend dates. Otherwise, a few days ahead of time is enough.

What are organized group tours?

These are tours for small groups (usually 12) on board a traditional wooden "gozzo" boat with a sundeck and small cabin. The price of this tour is quoted per passenger, and these are usually the best choice for quality/price. You can dock to visit the coastal towns, and the price generally includes beverages and a sandwich.

How long does the boat trip take between Sorrento and Capri?

With an average sized boat, it takes a bit more than one hour.

Is it more convenient to travel to Capri by public ferry or boat tour?

In high season (from mid-June to the beginning of September), we recommend booking a boat tour to escape the heat and crowds. The cost of a day on Capri, including ferry tickets, a light lunch and a boat tour of the island, is about the same as a group boat tour.
