Our most popular trip for the fun-loving crowd, the sunset sail often turns strangers into fast friends in an hour and a half. Sit back, relax and bask in Oahu’s magnificent sunset together. We provide beverages including wine and a variety of domestic and premium local beers, along with non-alcoholic drinks. Ask about our famous holokai cocktail—guaranteed to make you smile.

All drinks are included on this lively cruise! Strangers become fast friends on this one, whether you’re cruising solo or with a crew! We provide juice, soda, bottled water, wine, champagne, and a variety of hard seltzers, domestic and premium local beers from Maui Brewing, as well as our famous “Holokai Hooch” cocktail. So sit back, have a drink, make some new friends and enjoy an amazing sunset!

While all of our activities are family friendly, Friday night Sunset Cruises are reserved for 21+ only.

The Holokai departs from the beach for all of our sails, so be sure to bring footwear that you can easily slip on and off! The specific beach for arrival and departure changes depending on the tides to ensure a safe boarding, so keep in mind that the departure spot may change and might not always be right outside the hotel. The walk down to the beach may take from 5 to 10 minutes, a maximum of 0.3 miles down to the boat.

Any guests with mobility issues or are a slower walker will have to let us know after or before you book, so we can make the appropriate accommodations.

All guests boarding the Holokai Catamaran must complete an online waiver form prior to check-in. Guests will not be permitted to board without a signed waiver. All guests 17 years of age and younger must have a waiver completed by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. • Holokai offers parking validation at the Embassy Suites Hotel, located across the street from the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. Valet parking validation: $8 for 4 hours ***Please note that parking inside the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort is very limited and validation is not available. We suggest parking at the Embassy Suites Hotel (201 Beach Walk, Honolulu, HI 96815)

Overall rating

Great professional sailors and coast guard certified crew. Great “Holokai Hooch”, gotta be careful, that hooch will sneak up on you, especially if you mix it with champagne for that carbonated kick hehe! Great romant ... ic time with my husband, watched the sunset as sugar ray played lightly in the background. We are a young couple but we love 90s music! The only drawback is that the trip was too short. Would definitely do it again, maybe try to nudge them to stay sailing a little longer.

The cruise was a great experience! The captain was very good and friendly and the first mate was incredible setting up the boat, pouring drinks, taking pics, and being super friendly. This is definitely worth the price a ... nd much more, highly recommend!

A Great Late Avo Sail!

A great late afternoon experience. Hats-off to the crew for their organisation, quality of experience and setup on the cat. The kids were entertained on the foredeck (pitching seas seemed to be their gig) with the fore c ... argo nets, the music was great (well, our era anyway). The drinks were appropriate for the event...champers, beer and "boat mix". All were totally acceptable. We thoroughly enjoyed the sunset "open bar" cruise and would definitely do it again.

MAITAʻI CATAMARAN

The amazing Maitaʻi Catamaran is an ocean adventure, sight-seeing tour and party all in one. This “state of the art”, twin hulled, 45 foot catamaran seats 49 passengers comfortably. United States Coast Guard inspected and certified, the Maita’i is ultra-safe and a great time for the entire family.

Aloha!  Welcome aboard one of the longest sailing catamarans on Waikiki Beach!

5 o’clock can only mean one thing – Sunset Sail. This 90-minute long sailing is ideal for a variety of travelers including couples, families, kamaʻāinas, and large groups! Guests are welcome to bring food on board, so go ahead and grab that favorite snack and sip on that go-to brew as a Waikiki sunset takes the stage. Experience the nightlights and beautiful sunsets of Honolulu from a whole new perspective.

Catamaran sailing is one of the best ways to sit back, relax, and just take in the beautiful scenery of Waikiki Beach and the ocean surrounding it. Let the ocean be your sanctuary away from it all and take a relaxing catamaran sail.

Escape the ordinary aboard this beautiful vessel, head out into the open ocean, and feel the stresses of daily life being washed away.

Docked: On the Beach at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel

Dress in bathing suits, cover-ups, or shorts. Don’t forget to bring a Towel!

Please Note: Feet and legs WILL get wet boarding the boat. If sitting on the nets you will get wet as well.

Drinks are  NOT  included with the price of the sail. We have a small bar onboard with Mai Tais for  $6.00  a piece, beers for  $4.00  a piece, and Coke, Juice & Water available for  $2.00  a piece.

IS THERE A BATHROOM ABOARD?

Is there parking / do you validate.

Unfortunately, we do not have any parking of our own, nor can we validate for parking. If you are going to drive, please plan to arrive early and park either at the  Royal Hawaiian Center   Parking Structure  or the  International Marketplace Parking Structure  and walk down Waikiki Surf Alley to find us. You can also valet park at the  Outrigger Waikiki  or  Royal Hawaiian .

CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD / DRINK ON BOARD?

Discover the beautiful views of the ocean, local wildlife, the iconic east side of Oahu, and the sun dipping into the sea as you join us on a private catamaran cruise in Waikiki . We’ll depart from Kewalo Basin Harbor located in Honolulu and make our way up the coastline to Diamond Head, making stops along the way for any turtles, dolphins, or whales we may spot during our journey.

Once at the top of our route, we will find a calm anchorage to relax at and enjoy the Hawaii sunset. Guests are welcome to join me for guided snorkeling and swimming or just dip their toes in the water as we soak in the beautiful afternoon. Lastly, we will watch the sunset in the ocean as we head back to the harbor.

The vessel is exclusively reserved for your party so you are welcome to play your own music and bring any refreshments you would like to enjoy during our time together. I’ll happily be sharing my local knowledge and the cultural history of the area we are traveling in throughout the cruise. There is no better way to end the day!

Booked the sunset catamaran for our family. Can not say enough amazing things about the boat, crew, and service they provided. They were very patient with 2 kids snorkeling, answered all our questions, and we even got to see dolphins. Such a wonderful experience, definitely a must do experience in Oahu! You will not be disappointed.

Best thing we did on the islands! Crew was very knowledgeable about the island. We snorkeled with sea turtles and fish. A pod of dolphins unexpectedly joined us on our sunset cruise. I was just lovely. Would 10000% recommend.

This was our second time using Hawaii Ocean Charters we had Captain Sam whom we had in the fall of 2022 and Nick as well. Sam remembered us from our trip in the fall. We were greeted with warm welcomes and after a brief safety refresher we were on our way. We stopped to swim for a little bit. They gave my daughter a mask so she could dive down and see all the fish. They really do a great job to make sure everyone is comfortable and both Sam and Nick were super personable. I would highly recommend using them. If you don’t want to mess with a bunch of strangers on a sunset catamaran this is certainly the way to go.

We had a great sunset cruise! it was so nice having the entire catamaran to ourselves. We could sit upfront on the nets (with a bean bag to support our backs no less) or go up top with the captain for great views and conversation. The crew was great, and we will definitely be doing this tour again next time we are in Waikiki.

I have taken multiple sunset tours in Hawaii. None of them let you swim. This was amazing. My kids and I swam in the ocean, we saw turtles and seals, they had free snacks and drinks for purchase. The crew was so chill and friendly. I highly recommend this tour!

The Oahu catamaran’s crew has some light snacks available but your welcome to bring along your favorites as well. Waikiki’s most iconic landmark Diamond Head is known for its stunning coastal view especial during sunset.

Our Waikiki catamaran is spacious enough for 49 passengers but we limit to around 25. Always ample room on this boat charter with 38′ length and 18′ width. Open air seating for incredible views as well as covered area including two restrooms with marine toilets for your convenience. Slip off your slippers and enjoy watching the Hawaii sunset while sailing along the iconic Waikiki coastline on our 53ft catamaran, the Honi Olani! We set sail at 5:30pm everyday of the week except Fridays. We cruise East along Hawaii’s magnificent Waikiki coastline. To the West is the setting sun and to the shore the night lights of Waikiki light up the coastline. Our cocktail cruise sails every night except Fridays when we offer a Dinner & Firework Cruise.

Join us on our 53ft catamaran for a Hawaii Sunset Cruise. The “Honi Olani” Catamaran sets sail daily from Kewalo Basin Harbor. This is a laid back barefoot cruise with appetizers and drinks. The “Honi Olani” holds a maximum of 49 passengers has indoor and outdoor seating, and a bar and buffet. Bathrooms are available on board although we do suggest using the bathroom before you get on board. Kewalo Basin Harbor is a couple of miles West of Waikiki and free transportation is included from Waikiki hotels. Parking at the Harbor is also available for those driving out, or across the street at the Ward Shopping Center. This is a hour and a half sunset sail.

The Honi Olani Catamaran Cocktail Cruise include an array of “pupus” or finger appetizers for snacking. These include Italian meatballs with marinara sauce, honey-barbeque chicken wings, vegetable platters and assorted sides. Available are unlimited non-alcoholic beverages. Each adult receives 2 free bar drinks additional beers are just $1.00 and mixers $2.00.

Location: Check In at Kewalo Basin Harbor at the “Honi Olani” Catamaran. Check your voucher for the slip #. Transportation: Round-trip transportation is available for the “Honi Olani” from Waikiki Hotels. Parking: Limited paid-parking is available at the Kewalo Basin harbor. More parking is available across the street at the Ward Shopping Center or at the beach park next to the harbor. Please Bring: Camera. A light jacket for the ocean breezes if you are susceptible to the cold. Valid government-issued photo ID for alcoholic beverages. If you are prone to seasickness, we recommend you take preventative measures beforehand.
