With multiple spaces for indoor and outdoor entertaining and an experienced family-friendly crew, JUST ENOUGH is the perfect choice for your luxury charter vacation.

Elegant Interiors

Interiors on JUST ENOUGH are elegantly simple and traditional. Ares Marine made lavish use of mahogany paneling, a soft neutral palette and luxurious furnishings. The main salon is an open plan space with a stylish lounge area, a smaller casual dining or games table, and formal dining for 12. The upper-deck skylounge is the place for entertaining with a blue leather bar, ultra-comfortable L-shaped beige leather sofa to curl up in, and stunning views from the generous windows that embrace the space. There is also a 55-inch TV for onboard movie nights.

Luxurious Staterooms

Accommodations are equally luxurious sleeping JUST ENOUGH’s 11 guests in five well-appointed staterooms. There is a casual alfresco dining aft of the sky lounge, while outside of the main deck salon, there is a comfortable built-in seating area and tables that are ideal for lazy lunches or a relaxed breakfast. Sun-loving guests tend to gravitate towards the sun deck and its large Jacuzzi, a marble-topped bar and sun loungers for catching rays. There’s another great space for more private sunbathing on the foredeck.

Guest Review 6/2018 - “Just a quick note to let you know that I just wrapped up the vacation of a lifetime. The boat, the itinerary and certainly the crew were incredible. You cannot imagine how much fun we had together and with the crew. Amazing all around. I am seriously thinking about meeting them in the Caribbean in the Fall. Thank YOU so very much!!!”

Guest review

“Unbelievable is an understatement, thank you so much for an unforgettable trip! The crew Is amazing, so efficient and joyful. The kindness of everyone will not be forgotten, thank you Ashley for making Just Enough feel just like home. You all work together so well to pull off a flawless trip! We cannot thank you all enough and hope to come back soon!” Charter client July 2019

“We had the best trip ever! Everything was so great, we had so much fun with the crew. The slide was a hit! We are definitely coming back; the food was the best and the crew was the best we have had. We are from New Orleans and used to good food and Terry blew us away! ” – charter client December 2019/ January 2020

“The captain and crew were fabulous. Attentive to our needs always pleasant and very professional. The food was also delicious. I would certainly recommend them to my friends and if we choose to do this again next year would want the same crew and loved the boat. It was just enough.” - Charter client July 2020

Best Charter Yet

“This charter was our best one yet. The boat was kept immaculate and you can tell that the crew takes pride in the boat. Everything was always very neat and tidy which is always a challenge on a boat with a lot of people. Captain Kyle was fantastic and was always up for conversation about what we wanted to do or where we wanted to go and gave his suggestions. The chef….she was fantastic! We are more “simple cuisine” people. She made phenomenal food the entire time and I can assure you that NOBODY went hungry! She quite possibly made the best hamburger and mac and cheese I have ever had in my life for lunch one day when we did a barbeque. Her potstickers were outstanding, the fish was great, the lamb and duck were my favorite and I don’t even really like either one of those things! We were really there to relax after working long hours for months. I think they caught onto that very quickly! It’s really rare to see a crew who works so well together and they all really did. It was clear they all had specific jobs to do, but the amount of camaraderie and teamwork that I saw on this boat was a step above all others. To us, they were very much in sync, professional, and friendly. They made us feel comfortable from the moment we stepped aboard. All in all it was just a fantastic time and we were able to relax, eat too much, drink too much, and get some much needed Vitamin D. Thank you again for finding this boat for us at the last minute. It was phenomenal.” - Charter client December 2020

In Miami Beach, you can live on your boat, but getting to land is not so easy

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — For Carlos Leon, living on a boat anchored off this posh seaside community, is the ideal lifestyle.

Housing experts say there just aren’t enough homes in the U.S.

The United States is millions of homes short of demand, and lacks enough affordable housing units. And many Americans feel like housing costs are eating up too much of their take-home pay.

The weather is good, except for the occasional hurricane, and the water is inviting. During the COVID pandemic, he and his girlfriend, now wife, bought a 41-foot sailboat and anchored it in Biscayne Bay. “It’s like 400 feet, 500 feet from Miami Beach land,” he says. They share their floating home with a long-haired German Shepherd.

But, because of some new policies adopted by Miami Beach, for Leon and more than 100 other people who live on their boats, getting to land for shopping, work or just to take a walk, is no longer an easy proposition.

To step on land in Miami Beach, Leon says, “I have to bring my dinghy with a paddleboard, tow it 150 feet from land.” His wife takes the paddleboard and “me and my dog swim to the dock.”

When he wants to go to Miami Beach, Carlos Leon leaves his dinghy 150 feet offshore and swims to the city-owned boat launch.

Under an ordinance recently adopted by Miami Beach , Leon and the other liveaboard boaters can’t leave their dinghies or even their paddleboards at a city-owned boat launch or they’ll face a $1,000 fine.

This small community is anchored in state waters and legal, as long as they remain 150 feet offshore. Leon says. “Obviously, we have to have our tanks, our toilets, our anchors, anchor lights, everything, up to code. But if everything is up to code, we’re good. We’re legally here.”

When Black boaters faced discrimination on the water, this yacht club became a refuge

When the Seafarers Yacht Club of Annapolis was founded in 1959, discrimination at fuel docks around the famous port was common. Today, the club is thriving and giving back to the community.

But being legal isn’t the same thing as being welcome. For years, some in Miami Beach have not been happy about the small community boats just offshore.

In December, Miami Beach commissioner David Suarez spearheaded a move that cut off an essential lifeline for the liveaboard boaters.

At his urging, the commission voted to remove a public dock next to a supermarket. At the meeting he said, “I’m going to try to limit the amount of access that the people who live on these boats that come to the mainland. Because they can’t live on a boat forever. They have to come to the mainland to get food, water and necessary supplies.”

With their dock gone, liveaboard boaters began using a city-owned boat launch as a place to leave their dinghies while they picked up groceries or ran other errands. But the commission soon responded, banning dinghies and imposing a big fine for violators.

That’s made things difficult for the liveaboard boaters, Leon says, especially those who are elderly or not up to swimming 150 feet to the only place where they now can legally come ashore. “Every other area is illegal to use,” Leon says. “So, I’m becoming a criminal just to get to land.”

Live-aboard boater Barbie Wynn can't leave her paddleboard at a city-owned boat launch for more than 20 minutes without facing a possible $1000 fine.

Suarez calls the liveaboards “boat squatters,” and in an interview said the regulations are “justified and necessary.”

Members of the West Avenue Neighborhood Association agree.

The group represents Miami Beach residents who live in the condominiums that line Biscayne Bay and look out on the community of live-aboard boaters. The association has raised concerns about pollution from boats that illegally dump their waste into the bay, about the damage their anchors cause to seagrass and about the cost of dealing with derelict vessels abandoned by their owners.

With An All-Female Crew, ‘Maiden’ Sailed Around The World And Into History

A new film tells the story of the first all-female crew to enter the Whitbread Round the World Race: “Guys used to say to us with absolute certainty, ‘You’re going to die,'” says sailor Tracy Edwards.

Susanna Purucker, a condo owner active with the group, says liveaboard boaters are enjoying the benefits of living in Miami Beach without the responsibilities. ”You’re not paying property taxes. You’re not paying to even keep your boat in the water. It’s just, if I can use the word, free-loading, because it is.”

The liveaboard boaters have formed their own group, the Miami Beach Boaters Association . Carlos Leon says they’re considering suing the city for what they believe is a violation of their civil rights. He says, what’s at stake is a whole way of life. “Because if we move, then Key West, Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, everybody’s going to say, ‘Okay, let’s follow what this guy did because it worked.’ And then, guess what? No boaters will be able to get to land,” Leon says.

Miami Beach is in talks with the state over plans for a mooring field for boats in the bay. Depending on how it’s done, it could bring regulation to the liveaboard community or it could be used to drive them away.

SKYFALL is currently for sale for an asking price of $29.5m

Superyacht SKYFALL is as iconic as the James Bond movie it shares its name with. Owned by an American real estate developer, the 190-foot motor yacht features a distinctive silhouette and a boatload of stand-out amenities including a panoramic sky lounge, a split-level owner’s cabin and a helipad that converts into a basketball court. As well as being highly appealing to owners, she’s a successful charter yacht that’s renowned for her ability to entertain.

SKYFALL was built by American luxury motor yacht builder Trinity Yachts in 2010 for the shipyard’s owner. “SKYFALL is the most exquisite superyacht ever delivered by Trinity Yachts and is a shining example of American craftsmanship and pride,” says Frank Grzeszczak Sr of FGI Yacht Group. “In a market where yachts of her size are rarely this versatile, SKYFALL stands out as a unique offering. With a Bahamas-friendly draft, aluminum construction, speeds exceeding 20 knots, a flexible seven-cabin layout—including a bi-level primary suite—and expansive lounges, SKYFALL sets herself apart from others in her class.”

The current owner bought her in 2018 from an American automobile tycoon and completed a full refit in 2020, including elegant, timeless interiors by designers Patrick Knowles and Even Marshall. Now, as the owner builds a new, larger, 270-foot yacht with an Italian shipyard, they’ve reluctantly put SKYFALL up for sale.

As SKYFALL enters the market with FGI , the owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, gives Forbes an exclusive look at life onboard the yacht and reveals his favorite experiences and spaces, as well as his top tips for superyacht ownership.

What initially captivated you about SKYFALL?

Owner: SKYFALL is an iconic yacht. She really has the best of all worlds. She has semi displacement which means she is fast and efficient. She also has a shallow draft that allows her to get into anchorages or ports that other similar sized boats can’t even try to get into. In the Bahamas, for example, it is typical for SKYFALL to be anchored close to shore while other 60-meter (190-foot) boats are a mile or more offshore.

What are your favourite memories onboard SKYFALL?

We have had a lot of fun with family and friends on SKYFALL. The list of great memories onboard is quite long. The bridge deck outdoor dining table is where we always try to have meals unless the weather is very bad. We have had a lot of great discussions with family and friends around that table that will last a lifetime. We also like that the sundeck that has two hot tubs with plenty of space, which is where we have pre-dinner canapes every night while we watch the sun set wherever we might be.

One thing that often grabs people’s attention is the basketball goal that also is a helideck on the sundeck. We have had a lot of competitive games of basketball on sundeck, sometimes with a number of spectators watching from afar.

The top deck of SKYFALL features a basketball court, helipad, pool, hot tub and dining area

What is your favourite space onboard?

The sky lounge is group favorite. It has twin 80-inch TVs, so there isn’t a bad place in the sky lounge to view a game.

Please talk us through the owner’s cabin and how you designed it to suit your lifestyle.

The owner’s cabin on SKYFALL is exactly what we wanted on a boat. The master bed faces the bow with large windows which means we get to wake up every morning to an amazing view. The sitting area is perfect for getting a break from guests when we just need some time to ourselves. The suite also has ‘His and Hers’ separate baths and closets, which is a requirement for us. My wife and I always say that the key to a long and happy marriage is separate bathrooms and closets.

The office in the master suite is a welcome retreat for me so I can get work done privately without being disturbed, and more importantly, without waking up my wife.

A cabin onboard SKYFALL superyacht

Where are your favourite places to visit around the world?

It has always been non-negotiable for our family that we spend New Year’s together in Saint Bart’s on the boat. In early spring, she spends a few weeks in the Bahamas, and then typically we send her over to the Med for the summer season. She then comes back for a quick yard period in the fall, does the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, and then makes her way back to the Caribbean.

What makes SKYFALL such a successful charter yacht?

The feedback from charter guests has been that this is a great multi-generational boat. We have all the fun toys for kids, and lots of relaxing spaces for adults. Three generations in a family can travel together and have a great trip for different reasons. With the multitude of large beds, it is also a great boat for several couples to travel together.

Interiors are elegant and timeless

What first inspired you to become a yacht owner?

Our family had been chartering yachts for about 12 years. More and more we found ourselves wanting to spend time on the water. We had been loosely talking about buying a yacht when we started attending the annual Fort Lauderdale Boat Show. I’m not an impulse buyer, but when we found a boat that we thought would work for our lifestyle, we knew (or rather, my wife knew) that was the boat for us.

What does yacht ownership give you that villa or a hotel ownership couldn’t?

We often talk about how owning a yacht allows you to basically have a home nearly anywhere in the world. We like new places, and we like to explore, but we like to have a familiar home base to come back to at the end of a long day. A yacht gives you the advantage of being in the Med in the summer and the Caribbean in the winter sleeping in the same bed every night.

Guests can enjoy indoor and outdoor dining areas

Why have you decided to put SKYFALL on the sales market – and why now?

We are building a new boat, and it is time to let this one go. We are sad to part with her, but we hope she will find a new family that will create many new memories on her as we have.

What would be your biggest piece of advice to the next owner of SKYFALL?

Have fun with her. That’s what she is for. This boat loves to be used so if you have a destination in mind, she’s ready to go.

The decks have plenty of space for entertainment and relaxation

Want to be the new owner of SKYFALL? Here’s how

SKYFALL is currently for sale for an asking price of $29,500,000. Interested parties should contact the broker, Frank Grzeszczak Sr, Founder & President at FGI Yacht Group , who says: “Simply put, SKYFALL is the finest American superyacht available today. The price has recently been adjusted to $29,500,000, reflecting the seller's commitment to securing a fair price for this extraordinary vessel.”

Yacht Rock Essentials: “We Just Disagree,” Rock Journeyman Dave Mason’s Biggest Hit

Jim Beviglia

There are some artists who released many songs throughout their career that clearly fit into the yacht rock template. And then there are a few who kind of accidentally dipped their toes into that warm ocean water. Dave Mason, a British classic rocker, probably stands as one of the most unlikely Yacht Rock standard-bearers, thanks to his 1977 hit “We Just Disagree.”

Videos by American Songwriter

What is the song about? Who wrote it? And how did it go against the grain of what Mason usually released? Here is the story of one of the most heartbreaking yacht rock standards, “We Just Disagree.”

Mason’s Journey

Dave Mason’s track record will stun you. On the surface level, he’s best known as an early member of Traffic and a songwriter whose best tracks, “Feelin’ Alright” and “Only You Know and I Know,” were recorded by others and turned into classics. But dig a little deeper, and you’ll find it’s as impressive a CV as you’ll find.

He played on indelible tracks by Jim Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, and many others. Top acts returned the favor, with luminaries like Harrison, Graham Nash, and Stevie Wonder playing on his solo stuff. Mason even ended up in Fleetwood Mac for a cup of coffee in the ’90s.

As a solo act, he had a hard time gaining commercial traction in the ’70s, at least until record mogul Clive Davis signed him at Columbia Records. But the mercurial Davis left the label not long after, leaving Mason a bit adrift at the label but still owing them a lot of material. Luckily, he found some help from a new member of his band.

The Bruiser to the Rescue

Mason’s first album for Columbia, It’s Like You Never Left in 1973, was an all-star affair. When it failed to do much sales-wise, Mason decided to put together a regular backing band that could take material out on the road. One of his new cohorts was a guitar player named Jim Krueger, nicknamed “The Bruiser,” who also offered some songwriting ability.

When Mason was making his 1977 album Let It Flow , Krueger came forward with a heartsick ballad for inclusion. “We Just Disagree” wasn’t typical of what Mason usually delivered around that time, as he was more known for a kind of free-flowing rock approach than straightforward slow stuff. But, as he told Songfacts , he didn’t hesitate for a second when he heard Krueger’s track:

“I did it because I thought it was a great song. An unusual chord arrangement behind it. And it stood up—it was a song that when he sang it to me, it was like, ‘Yeah, that’s the song.’ Just him and a guitar, which is usually how I judge whether I’m going to do something. If it holds up like that I’ll put the rest of the icing on it.”

What is the Meaning of “We Just Disagree”?

Mason and Krueger, who, as traveling musicians, had seen their fair share of heartbreak, gravitated to this tale of two ex-lovers undergoing a stilted reunion. The guy struggles to make sense of how they went from such intimacy to this distance: Don’t seem the same, seems you’ve lost your feel for me .

Krueger’s lyrics cycle through the emotional spectrum, as he naturally treats her with kindness, only to remember all the bad stuff that’s gone down between them: Have you got a place to stay? / Why should I care when I’m just trying to get along . In the refrains, he decides it’s best that they stay apart rather than trying to tiptoe through the old land mines: So let’s leave it alone ’cause we can’t see eye to eye / There ain’t no good guy / There ain’t no bad guy / There’s only you and me and we just disagree .

Jim Krueger passed away in 1993 at only 43 years old, meaning he didn’t live quite long enough to witness the yacht rock sensation that gave his most famous song second life. As for Dave Mason, “We Just Disagree,” a Top-20 hit, became a signature song for him, despite it being somewhat uncharacteristic of most of his output.

In Miami Beach, you can live on your boat, but getting to land is not so easy

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — For Carlos Leon, living on a boat anchored off this posh seaside community, is the ideal lifestyle.

Housing experts say there just aren't enough homes in the U.S.

We, The Voters

Housing experts say there just aren't enough homes in the u.s..

History of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk

Foundation of yuzhno-sakhalinsk.

The Russians first visited Sakhalin Island in 1742. In 1805, the Russian-American Company sent Adam Johann von Krusenstern, a Russian admiral and explorer, to Sakhalin to hoist the Russian flag on the island. Officially, neither Russia nor Japan claimed Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands. In 1855, a treatise on friendship and the border was signed in Shimoda, which marked the beginning of diplomatic relations between Russia and Japan. According to it, Sakhalin remained jointly owned by the two countries.

The settlement of Sakhalin by Russians was mainly due to exiled convicts. In 1869, Sakhalin was officially declared a place of exile and hard labor. In 1875, the St. Petersburg Treaty was signed between the Russian Empire and Japan, according to which Sakhalin completely went to Russia and the Kuril Islands - to Japan.

In 1881, according to the order of the military governor of the Primorsky region, Major Vladimir Yantsevich was appointed head of exiles in South Sakhalin. He received the following instructions: “For the settlement of those who are finishing their terms of hard labor, a place that is quite convenient for arable farming should be chosen. The selected site, if possible along the main road from south to north, should be planned, divided into sections and, as a new settlement, named by some permanent name.”

In 1883, Yantsevich applied for the approval of the names of four new villages founded in the south of Sakhalin: Solovyovskoe, Mitsulskoe, Vladimirovka (future Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk), and Vlasovskoe. In 1885, 57 people lived in Vladimirovka, in 1895 - 130 people. In 1897, there were 150 residential and commercial buildings here: a church, a school, a post office, a hospital, a mill, trade shops, a number of government buildings, and a lot of residential log houses.

More historical facts…

Japanese period in the history of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk

In 1905, after the defeat of the Russian Empire in the Russo-Japanese War, according to the Treaty of Portsmouth, part of Sakhalin south of the 50th parallel was ceded to the Japanese Empire and became the Karafuto Prefecture. The northern part of Sakhalin remained under the control of the Russian Empire.

In 1908, Vladimirovka was renamed Toyohara (“bountiful plain”). In 1915, the settlement received the status of a town. The Japanese made their own plan for the development of the town with a clear rectangular planning system with the direction of streets along the railway and perpendicular to it.

The building density was high, as a result, a significant number of residential buildings were without outbuildings, sheds and other ancillary buildings, as well as yards. On the outskirts of the town there was a well-maintained park with an artificial reservoir. In 1920, the population of Toyohara was 14,176 people, in 1935 - 28,459.

On February 11, 1945, Stalin, Roosevelt and Churchill signed an agreement in Yalta on the conditions for the USSR’s entry into the war against Japan. Among the conditions were the return of South Sakhalin to the USSR and the annexation of the Kuril Islands. In August 1945, Soviet troops entered Toyohara.

This is what Toyohara looked like from the words of Dmitry Kryukov, head of the civil administration of South Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, who arrived in the town in September 1945: “The town mainly consists of wooden buildings. The houses are adjacent to each other, timber-frame, plastered. Many of them look good, but they are cold.” The majority of the population were Japanese and Koreans.

Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk - the capital of Sakhalin Oblast

On February 2, 1946, Yuzhno-Sakhalin Oblast was formed on the territory of South Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands. On June 4, 1946, Toyohara became its administrative center. It was renamed Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk (“South Sakhalin City”).

On January 2, 1947, Yuzhno-Sakhalin Oblast was liquidated and its territory was included in Sakhalin Oblast, a separate region of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. On April 18, 1947, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk became its administrative center.

In the spring of 1947, the mass repatriation of the Japanese began. By August 1, 1947, 124,308 people left Sakhalin, almost half of the local Japanese. During 1947-1949, about 400 thousand people were brought to Sakhalin from the central regions of Russia, Primorye and the Far East. By 1949, only 2,682 Japanese remained on Sakhalin - those who managed to obtain a Soviet passport. The Koreans from Sakhalin were not forcibly evicted, so most of them stayed. In 1959, the population of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk was 85,510 people.

In subsequent years, the appearance of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk changed again - the frame houses built by the Japanese were demolished. Today, except for the railway and some buildings of that time turned into museums, almost nothing reminds of the Japanese period in the history of this city.

Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk - Features

Sakhalin Oblast is the only region in Russia located entirely on the islands. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk stands at some distance from the sea coast, about 25 km from the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk. Chekhov Peak (1,045 m), one of the highest peaks of Sakhalin, rises to the north-east of the city. Locals call the city simply Yuzhnyy.

Sakhalin Island is part of the temperate monsoon zone. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is located on a plain surrounded by hills, due to which its climate has certain peculiarities. In summer, it can be very hot in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and in winter, due to the lack of wind, severe frosts. The coldest month is January with an average daily temperature of minus 12.2 degrees Celsius, the warmest month is August with an average daily temperature of plus 17.3 degrees Celsius. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is equated to the regions of the Far North.

The city is located in an earthquake-prone area. The probability of strong earthquakes is relatively high. The distance from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk to Moscow is 9,140 km by road and 6,640 km in a straight line.

The majority of the population is Russian, but the proportion of Koreans is also high (about 20%). Out of 43 thousand Sakhalin Koreans, most of them live in the capital of the region. In the city you can also find representatives of the indigenous peoples: Nivkhs, Ainu and Oroks, but their number is very small.

Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is the largest transport hub on Sakhalin. Anton Chekhov Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport offers regular flights to such cities as Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Khabarovsk, Moscow, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Seoul (South Korea), Sapporo (Japan), Tokyo (Japan).

In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, there is a high level of air pollution due to the high motorization of the population and the location of the city in the valley, which slows down the dispersion of harmful substances.

Today, it is one of the dynamically developing cities of the Far East, the production and intellectual center of Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands. Oil and natural gas production, as well as their processing, are the most important components of the local economy.

This is one of the most visited cities in the Far Eastern Federal District of Russia. Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk is often visited by cruise ship passengers (mostly Japanese citizens). Restaurants of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk offer dishes of Russian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Uzbek, Georgian, Italian cuisines.

The architecture of the period of the Karafuto Prefecture gives a special flavor to Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. Today, in the city there are about 40 objects of cultural heritage of this period. In the future, tourism should become the basis for the economic development of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

Special thanks to Vladislav Yarowind for the photos of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

Inside, you can admire the five-tiered iconostasis in the Russian style, decorated with 98 icons. The outer walls are decorated with mosaics created in Jerusalem. Ilarion Troitsky Street, 1.

The trip to the top takes several hours. From the height of Chekhov Peak you can admire the city itself, the waters of Aniva Bay and the Sea of Okhotsk. On a cloudless day, you can even see the northern tip of the Japanese island of Hokkaido. There is a small Japanese temple at the top of the peak.
