The best photos of Motor Yacht A
Motor yacht a's profile.
Dubbed the world’s most famous superyacht, the 119 metre Motor Yacht A looks like a cross between a floating submarine and futuristic spaceship. Here, Motor Yacht A's iconic profile can be seen silhouetted against a sunset.
Turning heads since it first hit the water in 2008, Motor Yacht A was built by Blohm & Voss . Here, the yacht's striking underwater lights are illuminated as night falls.
Speaking about the design of Motor Yacht A , designer Philippe Starck says his intention was to make the yacht blend with the sea. He was focused on the way the yacht moved through the water, with barely a ripple, “like a whale”, he says.
Like the 142.81 metre sail-assisted motor yacht Sailing Yacht A, Motor Yacht A was designed by legendary designer Philippe Starck (pictured) and was built by Blohm & Voss. Both superyachts are owned by Andrey Melnichenko.

Forward of the main saloon, Motor Yacht A features a main outdoor lounging area protected by a deck overhang but open to the elements from the bow.
The owner's cabin
Accommodation on board the 119 metre yacht is for a total of 14 people and 35 crew members. Pictured here is the owner's cabin, which is illuminated in plentiful natural light.
The tender garage
The tender garage is understood to be designer Starck’s favourite place on board. This huge space accommodates a sports tender and a limo tender.
The helideck
Located at the very front of Motor Yacht A's bow is the dedicated helideck, allowing the owner and guests to come and go in style.
