Vulcan 46/02 has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising one VIP cabin. The supremely spacious full beam master suite incorporates its own study.

Range & Performance

Built with a GRP hull and GRP superstructure, with teak decks, she benefits from a semi-displacement hull to provide exceptional seakeeping and impressive speeds. Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V4000 M92) 16-cylinder 1,653hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 12 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots with a range of up to 3,500 nautical miles from her 12,680 gallon fuel tanks at 12 knots. Her low draft of 2.18m/7'2" makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines. Her water tanks store around 7,500 Litres of fresh water. She was built to RINA (Registro Italiano Navale) classification society rules, and is MCA LY2 Compliant.

Vicem Yachts (pronounced "VEE-cham") builds classic style luxury motor yachts that are enjoyed by discerning yachting enthusiasts in many parts of the world. Crafted largely by hand at the company's shipyard in Istanbul, Turkey, Vicem models range from about 35' up to 150' in length.  Currently there are more than 150 Vicems afloat in Europe and the USA.  Since the company was founded more than two decades ago, the Vicem brand has become synonymous with impeccable craftsmanship, upmost attention to detail and quality, and widely respected cold-molded construction.

The Vicem Classic Series, introduced in the USA in 2001, includes models ranging from 34' to 72'.  These strikingly handsome yachts are an established favorite among Vicem owners.  Based on the achievement of the Classic Series, Vicem launched the Cruisers series in 2008.  These larger yachts, now ranging from 65'--115' are also attracting a great deal of attention.  We also build Sportfish models, ranging 54'-66'.

In 2008, Vicem started construction of its first composite 150' megayacht, which is a collaboration of world-renowned designers, Frank Mulder and Art-Line Design supported by a project management team with global experience in this area.

Hitting Stride: The Vicem 46 IPS

Classic. traditional. These words accurately describe ­Vicem Yachts. The Turkish builder has long been known for producing vessels with Downeast-inspired lines, constructed with mahogany using a cold-molded build method and powered with straight-shaft engines. But Vicem’s latest launch — the 46 IPS — takes the brand in a new direction for both construction and propulsion.

Regarding the former, Vicem is ­offering the 46 IPS with a fiberglass, composite-core build, although cold-molding is still an option. Vicem says the new, composite- fiberglass construction creates an even lighter, quieter yacht. The 46 IPS has a 39,683-pound full-load displacement. Powered with twin 435 hp Volvo Penta IPS600s, the yacht reportedly makes a 26-knot cruise and a 30-knot top-end.

Vicem says that when running at 25 knots during recent sea trials, noise levels measured 55 decibels (65 decibels is the level of normal conversation). We’ll be testing this yacht soon, so stay tuned to our pages for a full review.

The 46 IPS also represents a new entry-level yacht for the brand. Until now, ­Vicem’s smallest express cruiser was its 55-footer. The builder said at a recent press event in Palm Beach, Florida, that clients were requesting something a little smaller; the 46 IPS is answering that call.

I spent some time on board the yacht and found her two-stateroom, two-head layout a solid setup for a family of four or two couples cruising. Her forepeak master has a step-up queen berth, and the space is brightly lit from an overhead hatch and flanking hullside windows. The builder’s trademark Khaya mahogany bulkheads create a sense of warmth and elegance. The second stateroom, abaft and to starboard of the master stateroom, has side-by-side berths that slide together to form a queen when you’re cruising with another couple. If you need more accommodations space, Vicem offers the 46 IPS in a flybridge version with a three-stateroom layout.

The galley is also belowdecks. It’s fully equipped with a two-burner electric cooktop, microwave and refrigerator/freezer. There’s enough cabinet space to hold your stores for a weeklong summer sojourn. In the past, galley-down setups were known for being cavelike, but this one feels more like an atrium. Three raked forward windows and two house-length salon windows create this sense of openness by bringing in natural light. There’s enough counter space for simple meal prep too.

Vicem has done an admirable job of holding on to what it does best in terms of joinery and styling while modernizing its methods when it comes to the latest tools and technology — not an easy balancing act. The yacht also represents a renewed commitment to the American market. In addition to traditional and classic, perhaps progressive and modern should be added to this builder’s adjective list.

Vicem Vulcan 46 superyacht for sale with Fraser Yachts

Vicem Yachts has signed a co-central agency with Fraser Yachts for the sale of the first Vulcan 46 superyacht: currently under construction at Vicem’s facilities in Antalya, Turkey.

Measuring 46m, the first unit of the Vicem Yachts Vulcan line is an elegant semi-displacement superyacht which features an exterior design from Frank Mulder and an interior styled by Art Line.

Vicem Yachts set out to construct a composite tri-deck superyacht which is lighter and faster than the industry standard. Using twin 3,650hp MTU engines, the Vulcan 46 is capable of achieving 25 knots at top speed, alongside maintaining high-efficiency cruising and long range capabilities of 4,000nm with RINA/MCA Long Range classifications.

In 1991 Vicem made the biggest splash of all with the introduction of their Classic series. For a builder in Turkey to produce the epitome of classic Down-East stylings struck some as presumptuous. Frank Mulder Design was challenged by Vicem to produce a state of the art design that could showcase Vicem’s legendary craftsmanship. The interior design, by Art-Line Studios will bring a new definition to the word luxury. The 46M are built in a state-of-the-art facility in Antalya, Turkey. Composite materials, applied with resin infusion and sandwich techniques, were chosen to achieve the best possible strength-to-weight ratios.

The result: 460 GRT, (220 ton displacement), powered by twin 3650 HP MTU engines, that delivers 27 knots top speed and efficient ocean-crossing range at reduced speed. Her three decks plus Sundeck design provides outstanding elegance for a knowledgeable owner, and five cabins of thrilled guests. This is a 5 stateroom plus main deck master; Frank Mulder has designed a totally unique yacht with easy access to the foredeck from the boat deck on the port side with the main deck on the starboard side, creating a full beam, on-deck master stateroom. In addition to 6 owner and guest staterooms, the yacht has 3 crew cabins + Captain's Suite near the pilot house, with ensuite heads which has access from the galley. The main tender is on the flybridge deck, and there are 2 wave runners in a transom garage. 

Her signature open Atrium design provides 45 feet of unbroken natural lighting, from the very top of the Sundeck all the way down to the Lower Deck. The main deck’s Master Suite uses every inch of this yachts’ 30 foot beam, and includes a CEO’s office and a private gymnasium. A graceful wraparound entry way leads to an inviting Jacuzzi and an arcing full-width head. Far aft is the galley, a dining area for ten, and a relaxing lounge and a spacious upper lounge area.
