Golden Yachts has a gleaming new fleet member on the high seas.

The European firm, which was founded in the late ‘90s, just launched a new superyacht from its shipyard in Greece. The 289-footer, which has been dubbed Project X, aims to blend British architecture with Italian elegance and European savoir-faire. The sleek exterior was penned by Ken Freivokh Design in the UK, while the interior was conceived by Massari Design of Italy. Construction, meanwhile, was carried out at the Golden Yachts facility in Athens.

The combination of cultures appears to have worked in Project X’s favor, too. The nearly 3,000 GT interior is centered around an exquisite atrium that connects three of the five decks. The luxe living space, which can be navigated via a number of glass elevators, has been outfitted with some 150 different materials, including leather, marble and timber.

Project X can sleep up to 14 guests across seven staterooms, a VIP and an owner’s suite. Elsewhere, seafarers will have the run of a spacious gym on the sundeck, a beach club to the aft, a large glass-enclosed swimming pool and a spa with a Turkish Hammam and Finnish Sauna. There’s also a giant 18-seat marble dining table on the upper deck for alfresco entertaining.

As for grunt, twin Caterpillar engines give Project X a top speed of 17.5 knots and a range of 6,000 nautical miles when traveling at a cruising speed of 14 knots. The superyacht also sports a helipad forward to accommodate a chopper and a garage for all the other toys.

Golden Yachts has launched a number of luxury yachts in recent years. Most notably, the 312-foot O’Pari in 2020 and the 270-foot O’Ptasia in 2018. The yard has also carried out a number of meticulous refits. Perhaps you could say Golden Yachts has the Midas touch.

The 88m/288.9ft luxury yacht PROJECT X (ex.Z) has been transferred over to the Golden Yachts shipyard in Greece as she nears completion.

It has been a long journey for motor yacht PROJECT X: Her construction began in 2007 at the Marco Yachts shipyard in Santiago, Chile, before being placed into storage at the Delta Marine facilities in Seattle, the United States. Halkitis Shipyard has been working on her since 2019, and she has now been transferred to Golden Yachts for outfitting.

Superyacht PROJECT X has an exterior penned by Ken Freivokh , while the interiors are by Alessandro Massari from Massari Design. The steel hull and aluminium superstructure are finished in silvery-white, and notable outdoor features include a main deck aft swimming pool, a raised Jacuzzi on the bridge deck aft, a sundeck spa pool forward and a helipad on the foredeck.

Transatlantic journeys will be easy to accomplish using her two Caterpillar engines of 2,485 HP, producing a top speed of 17.5 knots and a transatlantic range of 6,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 14 knots.

The accommodation sleeps up to 14 guests over 7 en-suite cabins: 1 Master suite and 6 further guest cabins. A professional crew of 24 will take care of all the details throughout every cruise.

Superyacht 'Project X' launched in Greece by Golden Yachts

The newest addition to the Golden Yachts fleet has just been launched from their Vouliagmeni yard in Greece . The majestic 88m (289ft) superyacht known as Project X is the second-largest yacht to be launched from the Greek yard, following the celebrated launch of 95-meter superyacht O’PARI in 2020.

The yacht's exterior design has been helmed by British design studio Ken Freivokh. Key features include a curved raked bow and cascading decks culminating in a large beach club area to the aft. A further prominent feature is her triple ‘X’ paneling amidships that conceals a 3-deck atrium connected by a grand circular glass elevator.

The yacht's interiors are the work of Massari Design, who have purportedly re-worked 150 different materials into the guest areas, including rare leathers, marble and wood. 

The yacht places heavy emphasis on alfresco living, which is evident across her 5 cascading decks and includes a 7.5-meter by 3-meter glass-sided swimming pool on her aft main deck and vast beach club featuring comfortable lounging area and bar, alongside a wellness suite with Hammam and Finnish Sauna. 

Her wellness amenities continue up on her sundeck which houses a fully-equipped air conditioned gymnasium promising guests glorious views as they work out.

Her vast 14.8-meter beam will effortlessly accommodate 12 guests across seven luxury cabins, comprising an Owner’s deck complete with private terrace and Jacuzzi and further VIP suite, both housed on her bridge deck. 

The yacht boasts an impressive 6,000 nm mile range at a decent cruising speed of 14 knots, maxing out at 17.5 knots.

She is now ready for final finishing and is expected to begin sea trials in the coming weeks before being delivered to her owner. Upon delivery, It is not yet known whether she will become available for luxury yacht charters .

Project X is a 88m full custom superyacht of superlative standing. Project X offers the most indulgent and luxurious charter experience imaginable. Built by Golden Yachts and launched in 2022, Project X was immediately acknowledged for her unique design and high number of lifestyle amenities, including an award-winning design beach club with spa facilities, a lounge and fold-down balconies at the water’s edge. This innovative superyacht delights at every turn – the attention to detail and consideration given to maximising onboard enjoyment truly embodies what superyacht charter is all about. This yacht’s head-turning exterior profile is by Ken Freivokh Design and features cascading aft decks with a triple-X strip amidships. The artistic interior by Massari Design Studio can be described as contemporary with an art deco twist. Leather and marble are used throughout, and Project X has an impressive collection of Greek art onboard. Another notable aspect of her design is her triple-height glass atrium and lift, which runs from the bottom deck to the top and is the largest cylinder lift ever installed on a yacht. Project X has nine cabins and can accommodate up to 12 guests. The forward-facing master suite enjoys direct access to a private deck with a Jacuzzi, there’s a full beam VIP suite, and seven further cabins comprising five doubles and two twins. The cabins on the upper deck can be adjoined to form larger suites. The main saloon offers multiple seating options, a self-playing piano to set the ambience, and floor-to-ceiling glass panels that can be retracted to give access to the side decks. This area leads through to the formal interior dining room with adjoining library and a smaller intimate dining room. The upper deck offers an expansive second lounge in a circular arrangement, served by a statement bar counter. Elon Musk was just forced to reveal who really owns X. Here’s the list

Bill Ackman and Sean “Diddy” Combs are among the list of owners of Elon Musk’s X , the social media site formerly known as Twitter .

The platform has been forced to disclose its investors as part of a lawsuit brought by former employees , who are seeking payment of arbitration fees incurred following Musk’s purchase of the site .

Previously, X has argued that its investors were confidential as a matter of “routine practice and policy,” but this week, a federal judge in California ruled to unseal the list of the site’s owners.

Among the nearly 100 owners of the social media giant are some familiar names, both from the world of investment and within the X universe.

Previously, high-profile investors like Fidelity have been connected with X, most notably because  the investment vehicle’s filings implied a 72% drop in the company’s value since Musk took it over.

However, the latest filing reveals the investment behemoth’s backing of the platform, with almost 30 separate Fidelity-linked entities holding stakes in the brand.

This week’s unsealed documents also lay bare the lesser-known stakeholders in the company.

The list seen by  Fortune  reveals the Pershing Square Foundation owns a stake in X. If the name sounds familiar, that’s because of its link to Pershing Square Holdings, founded by billionaire investor Bill Ackman 20 years ago.

Although the foundation of the same name is led by an independent senior leadership team, Ackman and his wife, Neri Oxman,  are co-trustees .

Ackman is a vocal user of X and frequently uses the platform to address other high-profile individuals and entities. He has used it to  debate Shark Tank star Mark Cuban  and raise  questions about the leadership of his alma mater, Harvard University .

Elsewhere on the list of owners is Oracle founder Larry Ellison. The stake in X comes via the Lawrence J. Ellison Revocable Trust, the principal business of which, per an SEC report filed in 2008 and seen by  Fortune , is to “hold the assets and estate of Mr. Ellison.”

The interests of the trust and Oracle bear no relation to each other, the SEC filing adds.

Unlike Ackman, Ellison is not an avid user of the site. Despite having more than 130,000 followers, Ellison has posted twice—once in 2012 and once in 2023.

Another notable name on the list is Sean Combs Capital.

While SEC filings show no matches for the company, the business has previously been linked to the American rapper Diddy—previously known as Puff Daddy—who has launched a number of businesses under his birth name.

These have included the Sean Combs Foundation, Combs Investments, and more recently the umbrella brand for his holdings, Combs Global.

Musk has also managed to attract some royal attention for his endeavor, with HRH Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud also featured on the list.

The Saudi prince has a net worth just shy of $19 billion, per Forbes , and also has holdings in the likes of luxury hotels the Four Seasons and the Savoy, as well as other technology firms like ride-sharing company Lyft .

It also seems that despite his criticism of Musk’s leadership, Jack Dorsey still owns shares in the platform he founded via the Jack Dorsey Remainder LLC.

The Twitter cofounder previously backed the Tesla CEO in his takeover of the company but walked back his support earlier this year , telling a member on rival social media platform Bluesky, “It all went south.”

Doubling down on investments

Among the less eminent names are some organizations that not only hold stakes in X as a business but have also seen senior leaders pitch in.

Take the likes of Danilo Kawasaki and Ross Gerber.

According to the filing, the pair are named as individual investors in X but also have a stake in the business they lead, the wealth and investment management firm Gerber Kawasaki.

Elsewhere on the list are the Silicon Valley VCs one might expect: 8VC, Andreessen Horowitz, and Sequoia.

The list, of course, also features Musk himself. Via the Elon Musk Revocable Trust, the SpaceX founder is also listed.

Musk purchased the site for $44 billion in 2022, though the filing did not make clear the proportion of his investment versus that of others. Since then, the business has been  beleaguered by departing advertisers ,  mass layoffs, and criticism of Musk’s strategy.

X did not immediately respond to Fortune ‘s request for comment.
