I've searched the forums but haven't found any threads or posts addressing this particular boat. I will mostly day sail with it with occasional 4-5 day overnights. Home water is Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts.
Looking for info on Aloha 8.2
In gusty weather with a sensible sail selection, I rarely burying the rail. I find the boat to be good to sail in medium to heavy air. It does not do as well in light air (less than 7 kts.). (My prior boat was a San Juan 24, so i was spoiled.) I find the boat has average pointing ability, compared to my San Juan which was excellent.

Join Date: Apr 2018. Location: Black Rock, CT. USA. Boat: Aloha 8.2. Posts: 4. New Aloha 8.2 owner. Getting ready to splash! Doing all the usual hull, deck and hardware, electrical maintainance stuff. But due to the relatively low numbers of these boats, there is little structural info to be found.

Not all 27' sailboats are given a full wheel at the helm (most have tillers), but Swizz makes us feel like proper cruisers with a big teak wheel and plenty of room in the cockpit. They say that the theoretical hull speed of an Aloha 8.2 is 6.32 knots, but we've recently got her well passed 8 without a flinch.

jonnohb. •. We have an Aloha 8.2/27 which is a similar boat with some differences. The 8.5 is a masthead rig and stern hung rudder. The Aloha boats were made with a good fit and finish from what I've seen. Very happy with ours, we sailed about 300nm on Lake Ontario last year.
