Carmella was awarded the Best Sailing Yacht Interior by the Superyacht Society in 1999. Her Redman-Whitley designed, Herreschoff interior is an elegant blend of classic and art-deco styling, crafted with varnished, matched grain walnut and accented with raised-panel upper bulkheads. Her low-profile raised pilothouse has a full helm/navigation/communication station with360-degree visibility and comfortable seating. On deck, the sailing yacht’s powerful carbon fiber ketch rig is engineered for simple handling with fully hydraulic winches and furling. Her comfortable center cockpit surrounds a teak dining table and helm area with full instrumentation and controls make it the ideal spot when underway. Carmella’s elegant profile, with bright varnished teak accents, turns heads in every port of call. She has always been maintained to the highest standards.

Sailing yacht Carmella features a full-beam master stateroom aft with an adjoining private owner’s cockpit, plus two twin guest staterooms with en-suite heads. The sailing yacht’s spacious interior features a full-beam main salon and professional galley with a comfortable bar area that allows for easy entertaining.

CARMELLA 92' (28.17m) Sparkman & Stephens Yacht Sold

Northrop & Johnson is delighted to announce the sale of the 92’ (28.17m) Vitters sailing yacht CARMELLA by Yacht Broker Hank Halsted, acting on behalf of the buyer and seller.

CARMELLA is a classic Sparkman & Stephens built in 1999 by Vitters Shipyard. The sailing yacht has benefitted from a multitude of updates and upgrades, which brought new Awlgrip on her topsides, a new Kohler 24 KWH Generator and all-new B&G electronics, to name a few. CARMELLA’s Redman-Whitley-designed, Herreschoff interior showcases the perfect blend of traditional and Art Deco styling.  Six guests are welcome on board in three well-appointed cabins. Her full-beam master stateroom is aft with an adjoining private owner’s cockpit.  

Further accommodations include two twin staterooms. The yacht’s traditional styling can be seen throughout her entire interior, from the beautiful woodwork to the soft, neutral linens. CARMELLA offers all the amenities for gracious living onboard, whether in port or far at sea.  

Sailing yacht CARMELLA’s elegant full-beam main salon is warm and welcoming. The space features a professional galley with a comfortable bar area, perfect for entertaining guests. The cozy space invites guests to relax on the sofa, have a drink at the bar or enjoy meals together around the dining table. The yacht’s low-profile raised pilothouse has a full helm station with extensive navigation and communication facilities. Guests can sit comfortably and admire the 360-degree views from the windows. CARMELLA’s expansive deck has a comfortable center cockpit that surrounds a teak dining table and helm area. This is an ideal space for guests to enjoy alfresco dining, surrounded by the passing landscapes. The sailing yacht’s elegant profile and bright varnished-teak trim are sure to impress even the most meticulous of yachting enthusiasts.

The award winning 28.17m/92'5" sail yacht 'Marguerite' (ex. Marguerite) was built by Vitters in the Netherlands. Her interior is styled by British designer design house RWD and she was completed in 1998. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Sparkman & Stephens and she was last refitted in 2010.

Guest Accommodation

Marguerite has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 7 guests in 3 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 2 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Range & Performance

Marguerite is built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks. Powered by 1 x diesel Caterpillar (3116TA) 255hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 9 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 10 knots. Her water tanks store around 800 Gallons of fresh water.

CARMELLA was custom designed for a very experienced yachtsman who participated fully in all aspects of design and construction, along with the Naval Architects from Sparkman & Stephens, Marine Construction Management of Newport and Redman Whitely, interior designers.  This collaboration created a magnificent yacht in all respects.  She was awarded   the Superyacht Society, Best Sailing Yacht Interior, 1999.

Traditional craftsmanship and modern technology have created a fast, comfortable sailing yacht with a light interior and a sophisticated style. Nautical paintings, antiques, a baby grand piano and actual working cannons will take you back in time of adventure excitement and the romance of the sea. The master stateroom has a California King bed on the portside and sitting area to starboard. His and hers bathrooms - one with steam shower and one with a tub. There is access to a private deckhouse and cockpit from the stateroom. There are a futher 3 double guest staterooms. Dining Room seating for 10. Can be enclosed for privacy. Aft of the deckhouse is the large covered cockpit with cushioned seating and drink tables inside and additional seating outside of the cockpit. This spacious area is also used for dining on deck and can accommodate a large table and chairs for 10 guests.
