9 – The location and where to find the restaurant.
The restaurant is located at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort. The restaurant overlooks the water and beach area of the resort. The resort is accessible via bus from one of the theme parks or by boat service from Hollywood Studios or the World Showcase entrance of Epcot.
8 – The atmosphere and views are beautiful.
I absolutely love the inside of the restaurant. It is a very high-end New England-decorated restaurant with high ceilings. There is an area of windows that overlook the water and beach area of the resort that almost leave you feeling like you really are dining at a fine restaurant in New England. I also feel like the restaurant is a little more spacious than some of the other restaurants, which is nice for creating a more intimate feel.
7 – The restaurant is a Disney Signature dining experience.
The Yachtsman Steakhouse is in the Disney Signature Dining collection, which means that the location is staffed with some of the finest culinary talent. This also means that the restaurant is on the pricey side, too. Most steaks are in the mid-$50 range. This doesn’t include drinks, appetizers, accompaniments, and desserts. If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, the restaurant will cost two table service entitlements per person, but it is well worth it.
6 – The menu and theme for the restaurant are right out of New England.
The New England and nautical feel is prevalent right when you walk into the restaurant. The menu is also a perfect New England steak house menu with high-quality beef cuts, lobster, and other seafood options available to accompany the meal. You will absolutely love this extensive menu.
5 – There is a dress code.
Reviewing and understanding the dress code before heading out for your reservation is important. According to Disney’s website, men are expected to wear khakis, slacks, jeans, or dress shorts with a collared shirt. Women are expected to wear capri pants, skirts, dresses, jeans, or dress shorts. The restaurant also does not permit tank tops, swimsuits, swimsuit cover-ups, hats for gentlemen, cut-offs, torn clothing, and offensive t-shirts.
4 – You need to make a reservation as far in advance as possible.
Advanced Dining Reservations can be made 60 days in advance of the vacation. It is definitely a good idea to make your dining reservations as early as you can so that you can get into the restaurant and get the desired time for dining that will work within your plans. This restaurant is extremely popular, and you can book up in advance.
3 – The beef that is used and prepared is high quality.
The beef that is used at the restaurant is grass-fed beef. It is aged in-house to perfection and then cooked in an open kitchen. The oak-fired grill is in an open kitchen type of area where guests can get views of the chefs hard at work preparing the amazing cuts of meat. It will make your mouth water just thinking about it.
2 – The location is only open for dinner service.
There are currently no breakfast or lunch services available at the restaurant. Dinner is the only service, so if you want to enjoy this location, you will need to plan to dine there for dinner one evening.
1 – Come hungry and save room for dessert.
There are so many delicious menu items that you will want to try everything. We cannot help but get a shrimp cocktail and then our entrees. I have to have the Truffle Macaroni & Cheese as a side since it is one of my favorites. Then you definitely don’t want to skip dessert, either. The chocolate cake is to die for and a great mix of sweet and salty to end the evening. We always try to skip lunch before we go. That way, we have plenty of room to enjoy the delicious dinner.

I’m from Texas, and I’m not a vegetarian. Honestly, I’m as far from a vegetarian as you can get. If you’re looking for vegan restaurant recommendation, or reviews, I can’t help you. I wish I could, and I know that animals have faces and feelings, and I admit that I’m probably in the wrong – but I like my meat garnished with more meat. I think that filet, and New York Strip should be their own food group in my life. I’ve started crying over a chateaubriand before. I AM A FAN OF RED MEAT. If you, are like me, you should make your way to steak lovers heaven, also known as The Yachtsman Steakhouse.
Located in The Yacht Club, this Disney Signature Restaurant just feels classy. Decked out in dark paneling, dim mood lighting, and hunter green and maroon accent colors, this is the kind of upscale restaurant you would expect to find on the East Coast. The Yachtsman Steakhouse specializes in steakhouse classics. The bread service is a little different from the normal Disney bread, as they serve traditional sourdough, and delicious onion rolls. Guys – THESE ONION ROLLS ARE BOMB. They serve them with butter and roasted garlic, and it’s probably my favorite Disney bread service. I could make a full meal out of their bread service, and several glasses of wine from Yachtsman’s delicious wine menu.
We ordered the shrimp cocktail appetizer, which comes out on ice. I know it might seem hard to make a simple shrimp cocktail memorable, but this was the most delicious shrimp cocktail I’ve ever eaten. I was distinctly saddened when it was gone, and fighting my husband for the extra shrimp.
The Yachtsman Steakhouse offers a huge variety of steak on their menu, with everything from filets, to strips, to a huge 32 ounce porterhouse steak intended for two people. Our advice would be this – it can be tempting to order the giant steak, just for the novelty of it, but the smaller steaks tend to be better cooked, and have more flavor. We’ve had the porterhouse, and we weren’t a huge fan of the flavor, and found the cooking throughout to be inconsistent. We ordered it medium, and some of it was rare, and some of it was well done. On this trip, we ordered a filet, and it was PERFECT. One of the best steaks I’ve had at Disney World.

A slice of new england.
Within the airy dining room’s knotty-pine beams and nautical touches, mouthwatering cuisine awaits!
High-quality, grain-fed beef is aged in-house and prepared on an oak-fired grill in the open kitchen. Feel your appetite begin to build while you watch butchers hand cut steaks to perfection in the dry-aging room.
Then, give into anticipation as you delight in beef entrées like the 12-oz Prime New York Strip Steak with peppercorn-brandy sauce. Favorite sides include the truffle macaroni & cheese and roasted seasonal mushrooms.
Be sure to save room for a decadent dessert like our Yachtsman's Chocolate Cake.

W hen visiting Walt Disney World, you’ll face many different hotel options. Choosing the best Disney resort hotel for your family can be difficult, because there are so many themes, amenities, restaurants, and activities to consider. All of the resorts are convenient to any of the theme parks, but you may want to stay in one particular area of the resort.
Here are the EPCOT resorts within Walt Disney World to consider. Have you stayed at any of these hotels? Which is your favorite?
See information about the Magic Kingdom hotels here.

Why stay at an epcot resort.
Because all guests to any Disney resort hotel have access to Disney transportation, all of the parks are easily accessible from any resort. However, I especially love to stay in the EPCOT Resort area because we love dining in EPCOT’s World Showcase in the evenings. Staying in that area lets us quickly return to our hotel room when we are done for the night.
When staying at Disney’s Boardwalk, the Yacht and Beach Club, and the Swan and Dolphin, you’ll also be able to walk to the Boardwalk restaurants and entertainment area easily. Between that and EPCOT, as well as the resort restaurants, your family will have lots of easy dining options.
With the addition of the Skyliner, the EPCOT resorts can easily access Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation, and Disney’s Pop Century. This is especially helpful if you want to dine in these areas.
The Boardwalk Inn is a deluxe Disney resort and DVC property offering several room types. You’ll find standard views, water views, garden views, and club-level rooms. Rooms at the Boardwalk provide comfortable beds, a coffee maker, a refrigerator, a hairdryer, and complimentary WiFi. Many also have a pull-out bed that can be used for a fifth person in the room.
At the Boardwalk Inn, you’ll be able to take advantage of similar amenities that you’ll find at the other deluxe resorts, including a pool with waterslide, surrey bike rentals, tennis courts, an arcade, a self-service laundry room, valet parking, and a fitness center. Disney’s Fantasia Gardens mini golf course is within walking distance.
At the Boardwalk Inn, you’ll find several restaurants. These include the following:
The Flying Fish: A recently-renovated restaurant that offers seafood and steak. It’s within the signature restaurant category, so there is a minimum dress code.
AbracadaBar: a magic-themed lounge with a fun cocktail menu.
Trattoria al Forno: Offering authentic Italian cuisine.
Big River Grille & Brewing Works: a kid-friendly microbrewery and restaurant.
The Cake Bake Shop is coming soon.
There are also several different Boardwalk quick service locations. These include the Boardwalk Bakery, Boardwalk Joe’s Magnificent Margaritas, Ample Hills Creamery, a Funnel Cake cart, and a pizza window. These are great for a quick snack or drink while exploring the Boardwalk area.
When staying at the Boardwalk Inn, you’ll be within walking distance of both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Friendship boats are also available to take you to both parks. To get to the Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom, you can take one of the resort buses.
Disney’s Beach Club and Yacht Club are adjacent to each other and share amenities. Rooms at the resorts have different decor but are similar in terms of layout. Of all of the EPCOT Resorts, we prefer to stay at the Beach Club because we love the amenities and the proximity to EPCOT’s World Showcase (through the International Gateway entrance).
Of all of the resort’s amenities, our favorite is the shared 3-acre pool area – Stormalong Bay Water Park. It offers a sandy-bottom pool, a regular pool, a lazy river, three jacuzzis, and a 230-foot water slide. There are activities and games run by the pool each day – you can get a daily schedule from the resort.
Other amenities include the Ship Shape Health Club, offering fitness equipment, spa services, and salon services, merchandise shops (in each resort), a concierge, a business center (in the Yacht Club), complimentary WiFi, tennis courts, volleyball, jogging trails, campfire activities, movies under the stars, and more.
Restaurants at the Yacht Club include:
The Ale & Compress Restaurant and Lounge: Offering traditional New England Cuisine
The Crew’s Cup Lounge: offering appetizers, entrees, and drinks
The Market at Ale & Compass: quick service grab and-go food and counter service
The Yachtsman Steakhouse: a signature steakhouse
Restaurants at the Beach Club include:
Cafe May Cafe: Offers a character breakfast each morning featuring Minnie and Friends, and a seafood buffet each evening (no characters attend the dinner)
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop: an old-fashioned ice cream and soda shop offering burgers, grilled cheese, soup, sandwiches, and ice cream.
Beach Club Marketplace: located at the back of the Beach Club gift shop with grab-and-go food and prepared foods.
Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grill: A poolside bar and grill at Stormalong Bay with light lunch, drinks, and cocktails.
Martha’s Vineyard: A small bar offering light bites, appetizers, and drinks.
Guests at the Disney Yacht and Beach Club Resorts can walk to both EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you’d prefer not to walk, Friendship Boats travel between Hollywood Studios and EPCOT. Bus transportation is available to Animal Kingdom and the Magic Kingdom.
Disney’s Swan and Dolphin properties (and the Swan Reserve) are a bit different from the other Disney resorts. They aren’t owned and operated by Disney, but do offer some benefits. You may also find that you can get or use hotel rewards points when staying at one of these two resorts.
Here are some of the benefits that guests of the Swan and Dolphin can take advantage of:
Other amenities at the resort include a huge grotto pool area with waterfalls and a water slide, two lap pools, a kiddie pool, a spring pool, four whirlpools, a white sand beach, watercraft rentals, water volleyball, sand volleyball courts, an arcade, basketball, ping pong, tennis courts, a Mandara spa, two health clubs, and a playground.
The resort also offers Camp Dolphin. Reservations are required, and they accept kids 5-12.
There are 23 restaurants and lounges between the Swan and Dolphin.
The signature restaurants on the property are:
Casual restaurants are:
The resort also offers three quick serve spots:
These two resorts are extremely comfortable, with nice rooms and good views. However, they are a bit more “corporate” than the other Disney hotels. So you may prefer a more “magical” theme for younger kids.
The Caribbean Beach Resort is the lone Disney moderate resort on this list. It’s not in the Boardwalk area, and you’ll need to take a bus to the four theme parks and Disney Springs. As a moderate resort, however, it’s usually less expensive so it can be a great way to save money.
When booking a room at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, you’ll have several different room options. Standard rooms, water/pool view rooms, preferred rooms, and rooms accommodate a fifth guest. Pirate-themed rooms are also available. These rooms have two double beds. The resort offers five different villages based on Caribbean islands – Jamaica, Aruba, Trinidad, Barbados, and Martinique.
Amenities at the resort include free WiFi, the pirate-themed Fuentes del Morro Pool, and five leisure pools. There’s also a self-laundry facility.
There are a few restaurants located on the property. These include the following:
Sebastian’s Bistro: This table service restaurant offers casual Caribbean-themed food.
Centertown Market: Looking for a quick bite? Stop in for a casual quick service entree. Grab-and-go items are also available.
Banana Cabana Pool Bar: Get drinks (including signature cocktails) and light meals at this pool bar.
Spyglass Grill: Located in the Trinidad village, this grill offers casual food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Ahoy, sailors! After a long day at sea, or in the Disney theme parks, you deserve a feast! Luckily, the Yachtsman Steakhouse at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is now open, and we’ve got a first look at the newly reopened restaurant !
Yacht Club Resort
We’ve been on top of all the latest happenings around Walt Disney World , like some newly reopened restaurants , nighttime shows , and more! Now, a popular steakhouse is back, and we are giving you a first look !
The Yachtsman Steakhouse , located in Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, is known for its tender steaks, creamy Lobster Bisque, and Chilled Admiral’s Tower for Two (a seafood feast of Maine lobster, snow crab, tuna tartare, jumbo shrimp, mussels, scallop ceviche, and charred octopus salad).
Welcome back!
Previously, we found the steaks here to be some of the best on property , but dining at Disney has taught us that inconsistency can happen when it comes to our meals. Let’s take a look at the newly reopened restaurant!
The Yachtsman Steakhouse is open again! We made our way to check-in.
Yachtsman Steakhouse
You can check in right outside the staircase to Yachtsman , at this desk that is reminiscent of a boat!
The inside of the restaurant is lightly lit and very nautical-themed , which makes sense.
The tables are covered in white tablecloths with black cloth napkins and wood chairs with leather seats .
Once we were sat at our table, we received a paper menu .
The paper menu lists the First Course , Signature Offerings , Butcher’s Cuts , Land and Sea Entrees , and Steakhouse Sides . Among the first course dishes is Lobster Bisque, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail, French Onion Soup, and Beef Carpaccio .
We tried the Lobster Bisque with a lobster biscuit, crème fraîche, and espelette oil …
Lobster Bisque
…and the Beef Carpaccio, which is made with truffle aioli, parmesan, fried capers, grilled artichokes, and smoked sea salt !
Beef carpaccio
We also ordered the Whiskey Breeze , which is made with Jim Beam Black extra-aged bourbon, Cointreau , and fresh lime juice with flavors of guava and mango .
Whiskey Breeze
We got the Butcher’s Cut 8-oz Filet Mignon , served with Cognac-Truffle Butter and Potato-Leek Gratin .
Filet Mignon, Potato-Leek Gratin, and Truffle Macaroni and Cheese
Feast your eyes upon this beautiful filet!
Filet Mignon
And of course we HAD to get the Truffle Macaroni and Cheese .
