Review of SeaDream Yacht Club

SeaDream Yacht Club (seadream.com) is a privately-owned cruise line company headquartered in Norway (Oslo) . It was established in 2002 by Larry Pimentel and Atle Brynestad. Atle is a Norwegian industrialist and also the founder of the top-luxury brand  Seabourn .

SeaDream's Owner, CEO and Chairman is Atle Brynestad. The company's managing team is led by Bob Lepisto (President) and Andreas Brynestad (Executive VP). In September 2023, as Senior VP of Communications was appointed Rune Thomas Ege (previously employed by Hurtigruten /Group and Expeditions). In January 2024, Walter Littlejohn III was appointed CSO/Chief Sales Officer.

The company's Founder, Owner and Chairman Atle Brynestad (1953-born Norwegian) founded SeaDream Yacht Club and Seabourn Cruise Line as well as the Norwegian retail chain Smart Club AS (1995-founded/2008-acquired by Coop Norge SA) via his company CG Holding (Oslo-based holding company) specializing in investments in the retail trade and renewable energy services. CG Holding's assets include the Porsgrund Porcelain Factory (producing flatware) which is currently the only one in Norway still in operation.

One of the industry's small cruise lines , SeaDream delivers a luxurious, yet unpretentious "yacht cruise" experience in destinations, such as the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Asia-Pacific, Northern Europe. Itineraries are quite flexible and allow the captain to linger in a port of call if passengers wish so, or to depart early in case rain spoils plans. Following the purchase of two luxury cruise ships (operated before that by Cunard ), the new all-inclusive line promoted its innovative style of cruising as "yacht-like". Since its first day of operation, formal wear code is not required as the onboard dress code is officially "resort-casual".

In 2022, the company celebrated its 20th Anniversary with a USD 10 million (EUR 8,8M) drydock refurbishment project for both yachts, conducted at Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport Bahamas .

Highlights of the luxury brand's sea travel experience are the delicious cuisine, outstanding service, 5-star luxury hotel amenities, sophisticated enrichment program, and exotic itineraries to remote bays and harbors where other cruisers can be rarely seen.

SeaDream Yacht Club is one of the industry's most all-inclusive cruise lines. Its deals are inclusive of gratuities, all beverages (including alcohol and cocktails), all shore excursions and tours, also the equipment at the watersports marina platform, However, passengers have to pay extra for Spa treatments and the ultra-premium liquor brands at the onboard bars/lounges.

The following YouTube video is an official SeaDream release about its "top luxury yachting" experience. It shows all the yachts' best features, including suites as configurations/furniture and cabin amenities, all the sophisticated relaxation, entertainment and dining options on the ship, along with the onboard facilities and activities.

SeaDream cruise passengers are sophisticated, laid-back, well-heeled and well-traveled. Ages range largely, starting from guests in their 30s. Solo travelers and occasional large groups of family and friends are not uncommon, though couples predominate.

SeaDream fleet

SeaDream's current fleet includes the yachts  SeaDream 1 (1984-built as "Sea Goddess I"),  SeaDream 2 (1985-built as "Sea Goddess II") and  SeaDream Innovation (2021 September, newbuild on order ). However, in December 2019, the company canceled the SeaDream Innovation shipbuilding project and announced that a second-hand vessel will be eventually purchased in 2020.

All shipboard meals are open-seating, with many 2-seat tables available, making the brand a great choice for romantically inclined travelers. Weather permitting, dining is available on the yacht's open deck. Expensive Champagnes are poured generously. There is a weekly Champagne Splash party with caviar. Another unique offer on the yachts is the "sleeping under the stars" experience. It includes either an 8-person bed (on ship's open deck forward) or a double Balinese lounger facing the sea (aft of the "Top of the Yacht Bar").

In 2023, SeaDream announced plans to upgrade its yachts with shore power connectivity . SeaDream 2 was upgraded in 2023, while SeaDream 1 in 2024.

(Coronavirus crisis) Passenger shipping pause 2020-2021

Due to the COVID pandemic, SeaDream yachts suspended passenger shipping operations in the period March 18, 2020, through July 2021 .

Operations were planned to resume on September 7, 2020, but SeaDream started a mini-cruise program in Norway (June-September 2020) with 12-day Norwegian coastal itineraries between Oslo and Tromso on the superyacht SeaDream 1. SeaDream 1 restarted on June 26 (Mediterranean from Seville). SeaDream 2 restarted on June 26 (Greek Islands from Athens).

In early-November 2020, following a COVID outbreak on SeaDream 1, the company canceled the Caribbean 2020 winter program. All affected bookings received full refunds transferred as FCC (future cruise credit) with rebooking.

In August 2020, SeaDream introduced the "Ultimate Booking Assurance". The new policy guarantees a full monetary refund or 120% FCC for all bookings on voyages departing between July 22, 2020, and June 30, 2021, in case that the cruise is affected by travel restrictions from the customer's country of origin. Rebooking SeaDream cruises with rescheduling the initial booking is allowed even for not affected by travel restrictions voyages.

Itinerary of SeaDream Yacht Club

Currently, the company owns and operates two superyachts/sisterships - SeaDream I (1984-built) and SeaDream II (1985-built). SeaDream Innovation was a newbuild on order , planned for delivery and inauguration in September 2021. However, in December 2019, the company canceled the shipbuilding project and announced its intentions to instead acquire a second-hand vessel.

Greek Isles 2025

In February 2024, SeaDream Yacht Club announced the expansion of its Greek Isles cruises in 2025. Among the additional offerings is a 14-night in-depth yachting adventure, a standout feature in the series. This 14-night voyage seamlessly combines two new Yachting the Greek Isles itineraries, presenting guests with the opportunity to explore 13 Greek ports aboard SeaDream I.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the itinerary blends iconic Greek landmarks, UNESCO World Heritage sites, and picturesque yachting harbors. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in a harmonious blend of cultural discovery and scenic marvels, while also indulging in activities like hiking, beachcombing, and exploring charming local villages.

The newly introduced 7-day Yachting the Greek Isles voyages in June and July 2025 promise unparalleled exploration of classic Greek locales, including several ports not previously visited by SeaDream.

These voyages offer signature SeaDream experiences such as overnight stays in  Mykonos  and late-night departures from  Santorini , allowing guests to savor the allure of these iconic destinations free from the crowds typically associated with cruise ships and day-trippers.

The Yachting The Greek Isles voyage departing on June 29, 2025, includes visits to  Volos ,  Delos , Mykonos,  Patmos , and  Skopelos , among other enchanting destinations.

Similarly, the July 6, 2025 voyage features lesser-known gems like  Folegandros  and  Symi , along with popular sites such as Santorini and  Milos , renowned for its unique volcanic landscape.

Guests opting for a third consecutive voyage can indulge in an extended exploration of the Greek Isles, with additional stops at  Hydra ,  Itea ,  Zakynthos , and a memorable transit of the  Corinth Canal , before concluding their journey in Malta.

In addition to the 2025 offerings, SeaDream I and  SeaDream II continue to explore the Greek Isles in 2024 and beyond, reaffirming SeaDream Yacht Club's commitment to delivering exceptional yachting experiences in this captivating region.

Looking ahead to 2026, SeaDream Yacht Club plans to return to the Greek Isles with an array of new ports of call and the introduction of 14-day in-depth slow travel voyages, promising even more immersive experiences for discerning travelers.

Mediterranean 2026

SeaDream Yacht Club's Mediterranean 2026 program (May through September) groups 27 voyages, 82 ports (including 7 new call ports) in 14 different countries as well as the brand's first 2-week-long itineraries.

Maiden ports scheduled for summer 2026 season are in Portugal (Setubal), Croatia (Primosten), Turkey (Cesme), and Greece (Kythira, Kythnos, Syvota, Tinos).

Two 14-day itineraries (themed "Grand Mediterranean & Adriatic Explorer") visit iconic Med destinations like Corsica Island (France), Malta (Valletta Harbour), Italy's Sicily Island (Taormina), Capri Island (Marina Grande) and Venice City. Overnights are scheduled for ports in Italy (Amalfi, Sorrento, Capri), Croatia (Hvar), Balearic Spain (Ibiza Town), and France's Cassis and Sanaray-Sur-Mer.

Sundream Baja Festival | 3 Epic Days of San Jose Del Cabo Shenanigans

Tacos, tequila, and sunrise shenanigans! My return to Sundream Festival, this time in Baja California, was everything I hoped it would be – plus so much more!

For the second year in a row, last month I made my eagerly-awaited return to sunny Mexico to embark on a three-day music festival curated by Rufus Du Sol – Sundream. Once again,  I have been left completely in awe of the all-encompassing sensation that is Sundream. This time in an entirely new, but equally impressive location.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

Like millions around the world, I’m a super fan of Rufus Du Sol’s music – especially after attending their inaugural edition of Sundream Tulum last year, held on the iconic coastline of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. That ended up being, without a doubt, one of my favorite weekends of the year. My festival-loving friends and I speculated about whether there would be another Sundream, or if it would just be one of those special one-off festivals that we talked about for years to come.

Fortunately, Rufus Du Sol soon announced the second installment of Sundream, and this time, they’d be bringing it to an entirely new location in Mexico – introducing SUNDREAM BAJA .

Sundream Baja Festival Review

Set amidst a series of scenic, sprawling gardens just outside the small town of San Jose Del Cabo, Sundream once again delivered an unforgettable experience held across two weekends that will forever hold a special place in my heart. All festivals should be like this.

And while I know the majority of the internet is sharing videos of Sundream because Elon Musk made a surprise appearance – off his face most likely on a “Tesla” pill – let’s not let that overshadow the magical festival that Rufus Du Sol pulled off.

Let’s dive into my breakdown of the festival, and what made it such a special weekend getaway!

Sundream Baja Festival Review

Sunny San Jose Del Cabo

While I’m sure there are many out there who preferred Tulum as the destination for Sundream, I’m definitely on #TeamBaja now. I absolutely love this part of Mexico, and really believe that it’s going to become the next go-to hotspot for house and techno events in Mexico. After what I experienced at Sundream Baja, I can say that with certainty.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

Everything about San Jose Del Cabo for a destination music festival location makes sense. The airport is only a 20-minute drive from town, car rentals are extremely cheap (and you can actually avoid the classic Mexico car rental scams), there are tons of affordable accommodation options (from Airbnb to budget hotels), as well as a wide variety of luxury hotels and villa rentals.

There’s an array of things to do in the Los Cabos area, besides immersing yourself in the Sundream experience. Exploring the stunning Baja coastline, discovering the plethora of beach clubs, scuba and snorkeling trips, sunset catamaran odysseys, heart-pumping ATV excursions, incredible restaurants, tequila/mezcal tastings, and cultural day trips – it really does have it all .

Sundream Baja Festival Review

Finally, there’s actually UBER down in San Jose Del Cabo at extremely affordable rates! While this little benefit may not seem that important, it is such an important selling point compared to Tulum, where taxi drivers are notorious for ripping you off every chance they get. The presence of UBER here just takes that added hassle and stress out of the equation.

Bringing Sundream to Baja was such a smart and visitor-friendly move, and the unique backdrop of the desert landscape combined with the serene bliss of the Baja coastline was the perfect setting.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

The Sundream Baja Venue

Held at the El Ganzo Sculpture Gardens, the spacious 12-acre park was ideal for an intimate festival gathering.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

After entering through security, attendees were blessed with a unique walk through the “soundscape and rock gardens”, which replicated the lighting set-up Rufus Du Sol had showcased during their iconic Live From Joshua Tree set . It really set the scene for what was promising to be a game-changing weekend of music.

You soon arrive at a cashless top-up point and small market / Sundream merch area, where there was a fun selection of festival outfits and hats. It’s where I purchased my newest festival kimono, which I am absolutely OBSESSED with and that I received dozens of compliments on from other attendees. Shoutout to Follow The Crane for making such incredible festival-perfect pieces – I’ll definitely be putting in another order soon.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

Continuing down the path, you soon enter the main festival area, a sprawling space with so much room for everyone, especially compared to the previous year’s venue at Papaya Playa Project in Tulum.

There was something to look at from every angle. An array of eye-catching artistic sculptures, a food market with benches for dining, several bars, a massive spinning LED exhibition, and a glittering LED field of lights with towering palm trees served as a special backdrop.

It soon occurred to me just how much work the team behind Sundream clearly put into designing and kitting out this impressive venue – making it a festival to remember. Everything was so beautifully lit-up with various colors – it really did feel like we were in a festival wonderland. Just the way a festival should be.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

Sundream Baja Stage

One of my favorite things about Sundream is that there’s only one stage, which eliminates all that festival FOMO of missing a set. Everyone at the festival is there together, at the same set, to experience the performance as one. It’s a unifying experience you often forget the importance of, especially at festivals with stages all over, and people constantly coming and going.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

Sundream really leveled up their stage production for 2023 with impeccable lighting, sound, lasers, and an enormous colorful LED backdrop that was absolutely awe-inspiring to witness first-hand.

The visuals displayed on the LED screen which served as the backdrop for each set were so well curated, and really added so much to the experience! For me, the real pièce de résistance of the event were the insane lasers utilized during Rufus Du Sol’s LIVE set on Thursday night.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

Sundream Closing Weekend Music

With two different festival weekends comes two different line-ups, but this year I actually found there were a lot of repeat acts across both Weekend 1 and Weekend 2.

And while the Opening Weekend attendees may have been blessed with Afterlife legends Tale of Us and previous Sundream star Monolink , I’d argue that the Closing Weekend had a better line-up. It featured one of my favorite DJs in the entire world, Dixon , as well as Bedouin , Cassian , WhoMadeWho , and Ukiyo . But hey, it’s not a competition. (With that being said, Opening Weekend might have actually been the superior event, since Rufus Du Sol did play the Official Party on Thursday night – so there is that.)

sundream catamaran

One of the things I love about Sundream is that each day the festival has a different schedule. Thursday night (RDS Live Show) ended at 1 AM (with an after-party at Crania), Friday night ended at 3 AM, and Saturday night is scheduled to end at 5 AM.

What most Sundream attendees know by now if that they’ll be treated to a surprise sunrise b2b set that goes until 7 AM – but more on that later.

My Sundream experience began on Thursday night when I arrived a little ahead of time to catch the early sets of Modern Tales and Weval who both put on fantastic shows, although to quite a limited number of guests. I had actually never heard of Weval before, but I truly loved their music now and have been jamming to their recent album on repeat since returning home.

The real party began when the Danish trio WhoMadeWho came on stage, and once again wowed the crowd with a stellar show that was the perfect opening set for the big event of the night.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

By the time 11 PM rolled around, the venue was this time packed out, with everyone there to see Rufus Du Sol’s iconic LIVE performance . I personally believe every festival addict needs to experience a set by this world-class group at least once in their life.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

After the show ended, the festival moved the party over to Crania for the Official After-Party , which ended up being a major highlight of the weekend. This exciting new music and arts venue in San Jose Del Cabo really blew me away. With unique artwork and design, the party here was poppin’ off until sunrise, with WhoMadeWho and Ukiyo nailing their sets.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

Since I partied well into the morning, rested and then went out to a great dinner at the iconic Acre restaurant, Friday night was a slow start for our group. We showed up just in time to catch the last hour of Colyn’s set, which while entertaining, was the only disappointing set that I encountered all weekend. Sorry, I said what I said . Jimi Jules then came on and picked up the pace, dropping an eclectic array of heaters.

However the real star of Friday night, and one of the best sets of the weekend, definitely belongs to Bedouin ! I’ve been lucky enough to see this outstanding musical duo on several different occasions now, and every time they never cease to amaze me. Their sets are always buzzing, with an incredible collection of soulful tribal music and dancefloor killers.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

My only complaint about Friday night at Sundream was that there were simply not enough people. While the venue was extremely generous for an intimate festival gathering, the festival felt like the perfect size on Thursday and Saturday, but Friday just didn’t draw in the same numbers. The only way I rationalize this is that people mainly come for Rufus Du Sol, and since Friday is the only day they don’t come, they skip this day and save their energy for the final night.

Speaking of Saturday night, I have to say this was eight hours of some of the most EPIC music I’ve heard in my life. No exaggeration.

I arrived halfway into Cassian’s set, who was playing a solid selection of melodic techno that had the crowd going wild. Next up was the Innervisions head honcho himself , Dixon , who played two hours of quality tunes and unreleased heaters that had me dancing the entire time, but my Shazam’s kept coming back with bad news.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

Finally, Rufus Du Sol’s DJ Set on Saturday night has now officially claimed its rightful place as my favorite set I’ve heard in all of my festivals . Ever .

Now, I’ve seen their DJ sets many times in the past. Hell, me and a friend even flew to Bali to catch them play a DJ set on December 30th last year. They have somehow stepped up their game even further, and this two-hour spectacle at Sundream was GOD TIER. It was the perfect blend of afro-house, melodic techno and quintessential Rufus Du Sol grooves and left me truly stunned, even as a seasoned festival pro (and also had billionaire Elon Musk rolling balls).

Sundream Baja Festival Review

I even whispered to my friend towards the end of their set, saying “Oh wow, I’d hate to have to follow this”. Fortunately, Astra Club (DJ Tennis b2b Carlita) was up for the challenge and continued the outstanding party vibes with ease.

At around 5 AM , Rufus Du Sol & Cassian hopped back on the decks for a 2-hour surprise set that concluded the festival in the most magical way imaginable. My own festival crew, and everyone else in attendance, were dancing like wild until 7 AM, but unfortunately had to move the party elsewhere as it wrapped up for another year.

Sundream Festival 2024

Having had the pleasure of attending both Sundream events now, both in Tulum and Baja — I think it’s pretty safe to say that Rufus Du Sol SHOULD be making this a yearly occurrence. However, only time will tell. Fingers crossed.

The only other question I have now is…will they return to Baja (which I would personally recommend), or perhaps find another equally new and exciting destination to host their third edition for a whole new festival experience?

All I know is that whenever that announcement comes, I’ll be sure to update this post, and I’ll be booking flights to wherever it may be. Guaranteed.

Sundream Baja Festival Review

To conclude, I’d like to thank all my fellow “Sols” who joined me on this wild ride. The Rufus Du Sol vibes are simply unparalleled in the current world of festivals, and the love and energy in the crowd is something I really appreciate. I can’t wait to do all over again.

Thanks for reading everyone, and be sure to follow along and say hey on Instagram if you attended Sundream or plan on going next year!

The 77 is the fifth catamaran in the Ultima range , joining the existing 44, 55, 66, and 88 models. A response to new owner demands, the cat is focused on sustainability, speed, and space. To that end, the newcomer is equipped with a high-tech diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system that is cleaner and quieter than traditional gas-powered setups.

Sunreef 77 Ultima Catamaran

Sunreef didn’t share any details regarding range or speed, but Ultima cats typically showcase the Polish yard’s signature “solar skin” that provides an endless supply of clean energy. Ultimas also pack ultra-efficient batteries that are 30 percent lighter than other systems that are commonly used in the yachting industry, according to Sunreef.

The slim hull has been optimized for cruising, with weight, aerodynamics, and balance carefully adjusted for greater drag reduction. The composite hull is also finished with ultra-slick bottom paint to help it slice through the ocean. Sunreef says the 77 can even be fitted with computer-controlled hydrofoils that will allow it to “fly” over the waves with less drag and more velocity than a traditional planing yacht.

With a beam of 27 feet, the yacht offers a generous amount of space onboard (about 3,272 square feet). The light, airy interiors can be customized by the owner, naturally. Options include a spectacular full-beam owner’s suite, according to Sunreef. Speaking of accommodation, the cat can sleep up to 10 guests in total.

The hard part will be deciding the best spot for sundowners.

Charter Programs & Tax Programs

Catamarans have become so popular in the last ten years that the demand far outweighs the supply. This is both good and bad. Catamarans retain their value far better and for far longer than monohulls because we just don’t have enough of them. The bad thing is that new catamarans are becoming more and more expensive. We therefore are constantly trying to find ways to reduce the cost of ownership for our clients. Learn about our charter yacht management programs and boat as a business programs .

For more than 30 years, we have been a part of the catamaran community and created Catamaran Guru™ to encourage and educate all the aspiring sailing out there. We understand the dream of traveling the world by catamaran and created a one-stop-shop to make that dream a reality for you.

Sunreef 60, Exterior, SAILING YACHTS

The Sunreef 60 is an all-around sailing leisure yacht ideal for exclusive getaways, charter, and transoceanic adventures. This model boasts a combination of exterior and interior areas easily flowing into one another. A clever bridge deck and superstructure design allow for a superior level of comfort onboard whereas the generous teak use, high bulwarks, and classy lines underscore her modern style with a classic edge.

With a completely fresh superstructure concept, the electric catamaran gains a saloon plan with an outstanding potential for customization. A vast, central lounging space with a panoramic view and endless layout possibilities, opens both onto the bow terrace and cockpit to make the most of the scenic route.

The bow benefits from a cozy lounge that is well shielded from sun and wind. To the aft, the saloon merges with the generous cockpit extended with a large aft platform. All the areas combined form a universal, open environment where flexibility and freedom reign.

While housing the main helm, the 36m² flybridge of the sailing yacht is dedicated to leisure with more than enough space for movable furniture, a jacuzzi, fully equipped wet bar, a barbecue and large sunpads. The hulls provide impressive volumes to set up a custom layout including airy, luxurious guest cabins and an opulent master suite with a walk-in dressing, desk, sofa, retractable TV, and an immense bathroom. This is the perfect setting to unwind and relax after a long day of basking in the sun. Available in classic, solar and electric catamaran versions, it offers versatility and sustainability for discerning sailors.
