The 49.9m/163'9" motor yacht 'Olokun' was built by Tankoa Yachts in Italy at their Genova shipyard. Her interior is styled by design house Casadio and she was delivered to her owner in November 2020. This luxury vessel's exterior design is the work of Francesco Paszkowski Design.

Guest Accommodation

Olokun has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising one VIP cabin. The master suite incorporates its own study and dressing room. She is also capable of carrying up to 10 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Her features include beach club, deck jacuzzi, WiFi and air conditioning.

Range & Performance

Built with a aluminium hull and aluminium superstructure, with teak decks, she benefits from a semi-displacement hull to provide exceptional seakeeping and impressive speeds. Powered by twin diesel MTU (8V 4000 M54) 1,920hp engines, she comfortably cruises at 14 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 17 knots with a range of up to 4,500 nautical miles from her 65,000 litre fuel tanks at 11 knots. Her low draft of 2.13m/7' makes her primed for accessing shallow areas and cruising close to the shorelines. Her water tanks store around 16,600 Litres of fresh water. She was built to Lloyds Register ✠ 100A1 SSC Yacht, Mono, G6 ✠ LMC classification society rules.

Tankoa Yachts has released images of its latest S501 hull, the imposing all-aluminium luxury yacht OLOKUN .

M/Y OLOKUN is the third hull produced from the S501 platform and follows swiftly on from the success of the first hull, motor yacht VERTIGE , which was launched in 2017, and motor yacht BINTADOR , launched in 2019, to make the model the shipyard’s best-seller.

OLOKUN immediately distinguishes herself from her sister hulls by her stormy black hull accented minimally with a low silver superstructure. This sultry appearance required a different approach compared to light coloured hulls: Dark hulls have a tendency to overheat in the sunshine and to prevent this the shipyard used special awlgrip coatings that reduce the temperature of the hull by as much as 10°C.

Superyacht OLOKUN boasts exterior styling and a layout by renowned designer Francesco Paszkowski , while the refined interiors come from prolific design studio Casa Dio Miami|London. True to contemporary trends, the interiors use natural materials and colours for a serene and welcoming environment. The simple and clean lines are inspired by Japanese design, enhanced by top quality fabrics from prestigious Italian brand Loro Piana and unique bespoke furniture by Casa Dio Miami|London that was created just for the interiors of OLOKUN.

Brushed oak is used on the ceilings, walls and flooring in three different shades: Natural, Tokyo Black and Bitter Grey. Plush jute and wool carpeting from Loro Piana is found within the bedrooms, while the bathrooms are finished in Calcatta and black marquina marble trims and Compac high-tech quartz.

The Owner opted for several changes to the exteriors and interiors, namely the relocation of the formal dining room to the upper deck to dedicate the main deck aft to the main salon, the conversion of the side-loading tender garage in the stern to additional space for the beach club, a private office for the Master suite that can be converted into an extra cabin.

Similar to the previous S501 models, OLOKUN has fold-down terraces off the main salon and Master suite on the main deck forward as well as a sundeck Jacuzzi and bar, and a spa within the beach club on the lower deck.

Twin MTU 8V4000 M54 engines allow superyacht OLOKUN to travel at a top speed of 17.5 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots while an economical 10 knots grants a transatlantic range of 4,500 nautical miles.

Three more units of the S501 platform are currently under construction, two of which have been sold while the third is being built on speculation.

Superyacht 72 – Winter 2021-2022

Third-born from the lucky Tankoa S501 series, Olokun distances herself from the standard platform, thanks to her owner-targeted customizations, especially for the organization of interior spaces and her décor, clearly inspired by Japanese design.

Three previously launched units and three more being built, one of which sold already, another one “on spec”, confirm the S501 platform as a leading project in its category. The reasons for this success can be traced within a co-occurrence of factors: first of all Francesco Paszkowsky’s fascinating design, characterized by angular yet sleek lines, to create a balance of sporty elegance. Then comes the size, 50 meters being enough to include S501 among outstanding superyachts, though still allowing to keep her under the crucial threshold of 499 GT. The third reason lies in the “on spec” production system, that significantly reduces manufacturing costs and delivery time, despite the wide customization offer.

Born in 2017, when “Vertige” was launched, followed by her hybrid-propelled sister ship “Bintador”, the line confirms itself with “Olokun”, which kept distinctive features like the owner’s suite folding balconies, main deck prow, the large sundeck with bar and whirlpool, the spacious aft spa-featuring beach club.

At first sight, the clearest difference between “Olokun” and her predecessors is the external livery, black hull and and grey superstructure, painted with Awlgrip varnish capable to keep heating under control even in scorching hot weather. Stepping onboard, customizing becomes much more evident. The main deck aft section includes a huge relaxation lounge, set-up by moving the lunch area to the upper deck.

The side aft garage, initially conceived for a tender, became an extension of the beach club -it kept its crane though-, as the owner prefers to use a 15-meter support boat. Adding to the four guests suites on the lower deck, the owner suite private office can be changed into a further cabin.

“As a boutique shipyard we wanted to offer maximum flexibility to tailor the yacht to owner’s personal needs,” says Vincenzo Poerio, CEO of Tankoa Yachts. “The result is a perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality. Olokun is a fully customized yacht both in terms of GA and interior decoration and thanks to its elegant exterior lines it will be enjoyed by the owner for the next 10 years.”

Olokun’s décor is Miami/London studio Casa Dio’s work, that, on the owner’s request, developed clear and simple lines inspired by Japanese design. Brushed durmast was chosen as wood, in its Tokyo Black and Glitter Grey natural shades, skillfully mixed and balanced in vertical finish and false ceilings of all spaces. The furniture was equally custom-made by Miami/London Casa Dio craftsmen, to perfectly match the Japanese style and the materials chosen by the owner, like Calacatta marbles and marquina black in restrooms and Loro Piani fabrics for other rooms.

As seen, Olokun’saft section was also modified by moving the lunch area to the upper deck, so that larger room could be made for relaxation spaces. “As we already know from experience, the interiors of yachts are often quite small and we always suggest to the owners to create open environments where they can enjoy the view and the interiors at the same time,” says Rodriguez. “We focused on making the entire interior of the yacht convey a sense of residential life by reflecting the exterior and transforming the interior into a complete nautical experience.”

As for the engines, “Olokun” sets Bintador’s hybrid system apart to resume a more traditional solution, made up of two MTU 8V4000 M54 diesel units, allowing her a 17,5kn full speed and a 14,5kn cruising speed, as well as a 4500nm range at a cheap 11kn speed For further information: Tankoa Yachts

Revealed: Tankoa 50m superyacht Olokun underway

Tankoa’s 50 metre all-aluminium superyacht  S501 Olokun has been captured underway for the first time following delivery. 

The yacht, which is the third hull in Tankoa’s 50 metre series following  Bintador  and  Vertige , was launched in Genoa on September 12 and sold by Camper & Nicholsons.

Started on spec, Olokun was sold in March 2020 and features a striking black hull and metallic grey superstructure.

Designed by  Francesco Paszkowski , Olokun features a layout largely the same as the two sisterships but with two main differences. The main deck aft will be wholly dedicated to a large lounging area while the forward master cabin will feature a private lounge that can be converted into an extra ensuite cabin.

Previously speaking about the alteration, Tankoa chief executive Vincenzo Poerio said:  “S501 hull number three was started on spec and the owner came into the project quite late during construction, but as a boutique shipyard we wanted to offer him maximum flexibility to tailor the yacht to his personal needs."

Poerio described the master cabin as "a good example".

"It meant cutting a hole in the bulkhead and re-routing all the wiring so his private office could be converted into a cabin." The interior decor meanwhile has been designed by Casadio Miami.

Power will come from conventional diesel propulsion for a top speed of 17.5 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots.

The two floor headquarter located in the historical center of Rome is complemented by offices in Shanghai, Abu Dhabi and Moscow where the design firm is very active.   Exclusiva operates in a very specific way, unifying the design process to every steps for the building phases combining technology and innovations from the most specialised artisans.  Specialized in bespoke projects the Exclusiva’s reference list is impressive ranging from Gazprom neft headquarters, Summa Group headquarters in Russia to the public spaces of Lakhta Tower in St Petersburg, European tallest skyscraper, Ferrari China head office and showroom as well as luxury mansions in Sardinia, the Alps, Russia, China and Middle-East.
