Additional information

How much should I tip the boat captain/crew?

The crew will work hard to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable time on board. If you have enjoyed your charter we would suggest a 10% is customary.

How do I confirm a yacht charter?

To confirm a charter we will send you a charter agreement for signature and invoice for a deposit. The owner will counter-sign the charter agreement and then your charter will be confirmed

What else will I need to pay for?

In addition to the charter fee you will pay an Advanced Charter Allowance (ACA) from which the cost for all food and drink for the duration of the charter, fuel, marina and any other additional expenses will be deducted.

What happens once I have booked?

Once you have booked a cruising charter we will be in touch to gather your charter preferences including dietary preferences, meal times and itinerary. We will liaise with the chef to arrange a proposed menu for the charter and put you in touch with the crew via Whatsapp chat.

What are high and low season dates for Caribbean cruising charters

High Season includes the Christmas and New Year period (approx 28th December – 7th January) and 2 weeks around Easter

Can I charter a yacht for a corporate event?

Yes, we offer corporate yacht charters that are perfect for team-building exercises and other corporate functions.

What insurance will I need?

The yacht is fully insured but you will need your own personal insurance that covers yacht racing

Do I need an owners rep/boat captain and what role will they have?

Most of our yachts have to come with a boat captain / owner’s representative; this person isn’t there to be the skipper and they can fit into your team wherever you need. There knowledge of the boat can help you get the best performance from the boat and minimise avoidable damage.

Eating out as a crew?

If you decide to venture out as a group and wish to include the permanent crew, please remember that what is your holiday is their job. If you would like to show your appreciation for all their hard work in making your holiday a success by asking them to join you for a night out, then please be kind enough to pay for their expenses.

What is racing yacht charter?

Racing yacht charter is a unique opportunity that allows you to charter a race prepared yacht with your team and participate in regattas around the world. We can cater for race charter opportunites from a group of friends wanting a fun regatta in the sun to a professional team looking for silverwear.

Do I need sailing experience to participate in a racing yacht charter?

Sailing experience requirements varies according to yacht and regatta of choice. Some yachts like a Volvo 65 require more sailing experience than joining the team on a 40′ racer cruiser. When arranging your charter with you we discuss any pre-requisite experience with you.

What is the duration of a racing yacht charter?

For most racing charters your schedule will include 2 training days prior to the event start date, for offshore races a third day for boat preparation will also be included.

What additional costs should I expect?

In addition to the charter fee you may pay a security deposit and an Advanced Charter Allowance (ACA) to cover charter related costs including race entry, berthing and other charter related costs.

Can you arrange accommodation?

Yes, we offer a regatta concierge service which means that in addition to arranging your race entry and berthing we can also recommend and book accommodation ashore, flights, transfers and restaurant bookings as well as much more.* * 10% service charge applies for regatta concierge services

Once you have booked a charter we will be in touch to gather crew information in order to handle the race entry on your behalf. As the regatta date approaches we will connect you with the Boat Captain via Whatsapp chat and provide useful information on both the event and on the location. We are available at any time via phone or email to answer any other questions or queries you may have.

What is the security deposit for?

The security deposit is to cover damage to the yacht, that is more than just general wear and tear that would be expected when racing. In the worst case scenario it will cover the excess should there be the need for a claim on the yacht’s insurance. However, it is also there to cover less serious damage that does not warrant an insurance claim like damages to sails. If there is no damage then we will refund the security deposit in the week following the charter. If there are any damages the value of these damages will be assessed and the balance of the security deposit refunded after these costs have been deducted.

INTERIOR The main salon boasts exceptionally large portholes which bathe the space in light throughout and invites guests to relax in a refined and intimate atmosphere. A generous dining table and chairs is to starboard while the port side creates a lounge with u-shaped sofa and occasional chairs. There is also a delightful lower TV lounge which offers a cosy space for board games and film nights.

FANCY has been designed to comfortably accommodate up to 9 charter guests in 4 suites.

The guest cabins comprise a primary suite with a king size bed and en-suite bathroom facilities, a VIP suite with a queen size bed and en-suite bathroom facilities, a cabin with a double bed and en-suite bathroom facilities and a cabin with a double bed and a pullman bed and en-suite bathroom facilities.

Erwan Monsimet

Sail & Work Experience Born in Brittany, Erwan is a passionate and eclectic chef, mixing the traditional French cuisine with international flavours, always keeping in mind the location of the boat, sourcing the most local and fresh produce to create his menu. Although he started in hotel and restaurants, he branched out to cruise ships and was exposed to dishes and ideas from around the world. She maintains an accurate inventory of all service items and supplies. She ensures cleaning and preparation of the vessel to the highest standards prior to any and all guest trips. Sail & Work Experience Axel was born in the French West Indies/Carribean but grew up in the south of France. She comes from a family with hospitality background; therefore from a young age, she started working naturally in the same field. What a beautiful yacht! The Swan 108 maxi sailing yacht Fancy impresses at first sight: the folding bathing platform is certainly over 10m2, a comfortable staircase leads down from the aft deck. The deck is covered with light teak throughout and is flat and uncluttered in the character of a true high performance yacht. However, there is no lack of comfort. The cockpit has a seating area on each side where the dining tables can be lowered to create comfortable sun loungers. There are also comfortable recliners that can be used flexibly and plenty of space for sunbathing.

The large saloon is friendly and modern, yet cozy with light woods and natural fabrics. There is a large dining table and two seating areas for relaxing. The master stateroom and VIP cabin are located in the bow of this luxury charter yacht. The two guest cabins amidships can be booked with either two single beds or one double bed. In one of these cabins there is an extra folding bed, so this modern sailing yacht Swan 108 can accommodate up to nine guests.

The FANCY Swan 108 Maxi sailing yacht has a carbon hull and rig, the mast is 50m high and thanks to the telescopic keel, the FANCY can also anchor in shallow water. The captain told me that this Swan 108 maxi sailing yacht can reach up to 23 knots with the spinnaker and he sailed from Lanzarote to Guadeloupe in 13 days.

For a successful sailing vacation, the water toys should not be missing, there are water toys such as wakeboard or windsurfer, but also an e-foil available.

The Bayesian set off on a leisurely cruise around Italy's southern coast on a sunny day in late July. The luxurious super yacht − which boasted one of the largest masts in the world and carried a crew of business moguls, including British tech tycoon Mike Lynch and his family and a chair of Morgan Stanley − set sail from the Amalfi Coast, bound for Sicily. Less than a month later, the ship had sunk 160 feet under the water , leaving its cook dead and six of its passengers, including at least two Americans, missing and prompting a massive search that has drawn international attention. Now, experts are trying to piece together why in the early hours Monday the Bayesian was quickly pulled under the waves amid a storm that saw at least one tornado spin up over the water. A perfect storm led to Bayesian sinking, experts say The combination of unlikely factors that could have contributed to the ship's fate constituted a "black swan event," Matthew Schanck, chairman of the Maritime Search and Rescue Council, told USA TODAY. The Bayesian was well-built: A 2008 product of Italian ship maker Perini, it was constructed in accordance with international maritime standards and commercially certified by the U.K.'s Maritime and Coastguard Agency, according to Schanck. The bout of bad weather that swept the area when the ship went down was also out of the ordinary in the northern Mediterranean, "which isn't renowned for prolonged, significant stormy weather," he said. "The fact that those two elements have then resulted in the foundering of a super yacht is pretty extraordinary," Schanck said. "These things don't happen every day." After the ship sank just before 5 a.m. local time, 15 people, including a 1-year-old, were pulled from the water. Some were rescued from a life raft by the crew of a ship docked nearby. Ricardo Thomas, the ship's cook and a native of Antigua, was found dead, according to authorities. As of Tuesday, six people were missing, including Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter. Several missing passengers were involved in Lynch's trial on fraud charges, including Jonathan Bloomer, a Morgan Stanley chair who served as his character witness, and one of Lynch's attorneys. Lynch, accused of fraud after he sold his company to electronics giant Hewlett-Packard, was acquitted of all charges weeks ago. Who is Mike Lynch? UK entrepreneur among those missing after superyacht sinks off Sicily Tornado formed over unusually hot water Storms in the area that night may have whipped up a water spout, a tornado over the water , according to local meteorologists. It was likely triggered by the water's unusual warmth, said Rick Shema, a certified consulting meteorologist who served in the Navy. "The water spout was an uncommon occurrence," he said. "But again, these things happen, especially in warmer water." At 83.7 degrees, water in the area was more than 3 degrees hotter than average on the day the Bayesian sank, likely the result of climate change, Shema said. "Hurricanes can form at 80 degrees. This was almost four degrees higher than that," he said. The water spout may have spun up when cooler air dropped from mountainous places nearby onto the hot water, he said. "A water spout is a vortex, basically like a tornado, spinning real fast, sucking up water and moisture as the column rises," he said. Although water spouts only reach around 120 mph, as compared to tornadoes on land, which can reach up to 300 mph, "you don't need 200 mph to sink a ship," he said. "Even an average tornado, 120 miles an hour, that's a lot of wind," he said, "which would heel the boat over for sure." Water spouts spring up suddenly, Shema said. Before they strike, winds can be slow, but "once the water spout comes over, bam, it's on," he said. Before sunrise, the ship's crew may not have seen the water spout coming. "The visibility was probably a big factor," he said. With the windows of the yacht opened, as they likely were in the hot weather, the water spout could have triggered water that flooded through the portholes, Shema said, causing the ship to sink. Tragedy strikes: Scramble to find survivors after Bayesian yacht sinks off Sicily coast Search continues, but shift to recovery phase approaches Italian authorities said the Bayesian was probably at anchor when the storm struck, meaning it couldn't maneuver and ride the waves, according to Mitchell Stoller, a captain and maritime expert witness. Other ships in the area that turned on their engines rode out the storm, he said. "When you're at anchor and you see weather, you start your engine and you put the wind on the bow. You don't let it get on the side," he said. Schanck said another key question concerns the position of the keel, a heavy weight underneath the boat that acts as a counterbalance to keep it upright, when the ship sank. When lifted, "that's going to affect the stability of the vessel, because, obviously, you've now raised the center of gravity of that vessel," he said. The Bayesian was floating over 160 feet of water at the time, deep enough that the keel would likely be deployed. But the fact that "the vessel heeled over so heavily makes me question that," Schanck said. The cause of the disaster may not be known until the ship can be examined in more detail, experts say. Prosecutors in a nearby town have already opened an investigation. Schanck said investigators will have plenty to work with once the operation moves into a recovery phase. "The vessel is intact and in good condition on the seabed," he said. "There's a lot of eyewitness accounts from other vessels in the area and the shore." As the search entered its second day on Tuesday, the rescue effort may shift in that direction soon. "I suspect, later on, today or tomorrow, we'll probably see some mention of a recovery operation being stated," Schanck said. The decision to would depend on whether rescuers find signs of life in the ship and air pockets or survivable spaces, Schanck said. At this point, survivors on the water's surface looks unlikely. "My professional opinion is that the casualties will be located within the vessel," he said. "There is a risk versus benefit in all maritime search and rescue incidents," he said.
