The Female Junior Sailor of the Year is presented to a female athlete who has achieved results on at least a Provincial and National level (could be International, but not necessary) that demonstrated a high level of skill and expertise in their discipline. Must be 18 years or younger as of December 31st in the year ending. SELECTION CRITERIA:

This award is presented to a (current) certified Sail Canada Instructor/Coach who has shown exceptional leadership in a learn-to-sail or racing program. NOMINATION PROCESS:

In order to be considered, a nomination form must be completed and a letter supporting the nomination must be submitted to [email protected] and come from one of the following:

• Employer, Club or Head Instructor (The club/school must be members of OSA/Sail Canada and teach CANSail levels and award CANSail certificates and seals);
• A student or athlete;
• Certified coach from another club, (or Provincial or National Coach);

• Demonstrates and exudes sportsmanlike behaviour in him/herself and expects the same of her/his athletes/students,
• Is a primary factor in improving the skills and results of his/her students,

This award is presented to a Member Club or Organization that ran a regatta of exceptional quality during the past year. NOMINATION PROCESS:

• Race management (must be certified Race Officer as PRO, Level 2),
• Pre-regatta information package, i.e. Notice of Race

Bronte Harbour Yacht Club is located at 43° 23′ 33.35″ N 79° 42′ 13.56″ W in the inner harbour, west of the lighthouses, at the mouth of Bronte Creek in historic Bronte Village. We offer two nights mooring at no charge by reservation only. Visitors from reciprocal yacht clubs are able to reserve a dock through our dock reservation request system on the club website, provided there is space available. We can accommodate boats up to 36 feet with drafts up to approximately six feet depending on the annual lake water level. Visiting boats must carry a Marine Insurance Policy equal to or greater than $2 million.

Atlanta Yacht Club

What are the Cheapest Yacht Clubs?

The cheapest yacht clubs charge just under $1,000 per year for membership. While this does give you access to different types of experiences, you may be disappointed by the overall amenities.

Some yacht clubs are known for their extravagant country club styles that help you to embrace a particular lifestyle. They include Olympic-sized swimming pools, state-of-the-art tennis courts, and fine dining.

Unfortunately, the membership fees are not the only cost associated with joining a yacht club. Most of the clubs in the United States also have a one-time initial fee that tends to cost thousands of dollars. Many will range from $1,500 to $5,000 depending on the location and the exclusivity of the yacht club.

This one-time fee should be the only additional money you pay except for fuel. Most yacht clubs do not cover the cost of the fuel used in the ship during your rental if renting is an option. Be prepared for what this could cost you.

If you cause damage to the ship, you can also expect some out-of-pocket costs. Insurance should cover the damage, but you will likely be asked to cover the cost of the deductible.

Be sure to inquire about how much you may be on the hook for before you sign up for any particular yacht club. Accidents can happen, even to the most experienced sailors. Make sure that you can afford the mishap in advance.

Understanding what the real cost of a yacht club membership is can be the first step toward determining if this is right for you. Many people love the luxuries available through the more expensive yacht clubs, but they may not be able to afford it. Consider what is most important in a club to you before deciding to sign on the dotted line for an annual membership.

Clubhouse Hours

Bronte Harbour Yacht Club is open weekdays and weekends. The club is furnished with a bar and lower lounge with regular hours hosted by club staff and a kitchen that is open for special events.  Special club functions may extend club hours.
