A new business has moved in on the shores of Lake Erie that is anything but new to the marine industry. Lakeside Yacht (operating at the old Lakeside Marine location) is built on a strong foundation of over 50 years marine experience consisting of individuals passionate about boating and two generations of the Ellis Family.

Von Ellis had worked in the marine industry while raising two sons, Brandon and Devon, with his wife Carol in Lakeside â Marblehead wherein Brandon and Devon decided after college to start their own marine business in 1998. Brandon and Devon’s business, Details Marine, Ltd., was also located in Marblehead.

The time has come for Details Marine to join forces with Lakeside Yacht Service & Storage, Llc. and take their expertise to the next level with a great waterfront location right outside the gates of Lakeside. Many in the Lakeside-Marblehead area have looked toward the landmark marina at 9454 Park Row as guidance during both daytime and nighttime travel. The large storage buildings and two hoists stand out on the water’s edge to mark where one is along the shoreline during the day while the uniquely pulsating light helps direct those traveling at night.

Now Lakeside Yacht wants to extend such reliable guidance to all boaters in the Great Lakes by way of service and storage both during and after the summer’s boating season. The services Lakeside Yacht offers includes: Engine, driveline and sterndrive repair; Fiberglass repair from minor “bumps and bruises” to major structural damage; Custom paint requests to gelcoat repair; Headliners, wall liners, interior/exterior carpeting and upholstery. Lakeside Yacht offers both heated and cold inside storage, provides all your winterization needs and also offers mobile dockside services when needed.

In addition to the crew of Details Marine providing services for Lakeside Yacht, customers will also find Ed Bennett, of Bennett’s Marine Service, and Ted Patrick, of Lake & Bay Yacht Sales, at the marina’s location. Ed, an insured professional Marine Service Tech since 1983, provides excellent service on gas and diesel engines, generators, electrical and air conditioning. Lake & Bay Yacht Sales has been owned and operated by Ted since 1992. Lake & Bay is a dealer for Egg Harbor Yachts, Davis Yachts, Buddy Davis Center Consoles, Topaz and Predator. While specializing in the brokerage of larger yachts, Ted has a well earned reputation for honesty and personalized customer service. Those that are familiar with the marina location will be happy to know that what had been left behind and neglected will be going under a major face-lift which has already started and will continue throughout this summer. From new paint inside and out, to brand new docks to maximize space and safety, there are both minor and major changes planned for the marina.

There will also be improvements to the 6 storage buildings located on North Shore Blvd - Lakeside Yacht’s gated storage facility which is located within 1 mile of the marina. This makes for minimal roadway travel providing additional “ease-of-mind” to those that would worry about any damage from long hauls from water-to-storage for their boats.

Lakeside Yacht offers competitive service rates and THE BEST storage rates around! Starting their inclusive heated storage rates at $5.25/sq.ft. and inside cold storage at $2/sq.ft., it is up to you to either call them first or call all others first - but, regardless of who you call first, DO call them. Then you can see just how serious they are in offering the lowest storage rates in the area.

Lakeside Yacht has launched a website, www.lakesideyachtserviceandstorage.com , but admits that it is not their main priority right now so you’ll find that it is limited in the amount information available. Lakeside Yacht is focusing first on providing the best service around for the familiar Details Marine customers as well as for the new Lakeside Yacht customers while correcting and improving its facilities. Lakeside Yacht invites all with questions to either stop by or call to talk with someone personally. As time moves on, Lakeside Yacht will expand and grow not only their website, but also services to add to the many needs of their boating customers.
