VOLPINI 2 is a yacht of many ‘firsts’. She is the first build of Tim Heywood’s fabulous design for our Limited Editions range, the Amels 188, which later became the Amels 200. She is also the world’s first IMO Tier III compliant new build yacht and the first Amels Hybrid Power yacht. She was our first collaboration with Reymond Langton who created the interior design. But regardless of all her firsts, we are most proud of VOLPINI 2 being second – the second Amels yacht for her owner.

Volpini 2 is a custom motor yacht launched in 2018 by Amels, in the Netherlands.
AMELS are masters in the art of modern Dutch high-value yacht building. The yard is the largest superyacht facility in the Netherlands and one of the top superyacht builders in the world. In 2005 AMELS launched the successful LIMITED EDITIONS and delivered the first yacht of the series in 2007. The shipyard also specialises in the build of full-custom superyachts, with the in-construction Project Signature due to become the largest superyacht ever built in the Netherlands upon her scheduled launch in 2025.
Volpini 2 measures 57.70 metres in length, with a max draft of 3.45 feet and a beam of 10.60 feet. She has a gross tonnage of 970 tonnes.
Volpini 2 has a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure.
Tim Heywood, the multi award-winning yacht designer, has produced some of the finest and largest yachts on the water. Among his exceptional designs is the stunning 133m Al Mirqab, which was awarded the coveted ‘Motor Yacht of the Year’ at the 2009 World Superyacht Awards.
Her interior design is by Reymond Langton Design.

The Amels 188 belongs to the successful semi-custom line Limited Editions. For the readers who don’t know, what that means: The hull and the exterior design is fully engineered and the client can bring his favorite interior designer. That saves time and costs (explained in a nutshell). The exterior design is a timeless creation by Tim Heywood . The interior of this unit has been designed by Reymond Langton . The Amels 188 has a beam of 10.60 meters. Although the yacht is just five meters longer than her smaller sister Amels 180, the hull volume is much higher – 671 GT vs. 970 GT. Also, the beach club is much bigger. During the Superyacht Press Tour 2018 , organized the Holland Superyacht Group, I had the chance to see both models at the quay and the difference was impressive.  VOLPINI 2 has a 130 sqm owners’ suite forward on the main deck with a twelve square meters fold-out balcony. The yacht has five guest cabins on the lower deck and a VIP suite can be found on the bridge deck. TIER III and Hybrid Propulsion of the AMELS 188 VOLPINI 2 The Amels 188 meets the new TIER III regulation by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) that is an agency of the United Nations to reduce the NOx by about 70 percent of all vessels over 500 GT with the keel laying after 1st of January 2016. Although the keel of VOLPINI 2 was laid in 2015, Amels reacted proactive and equipped the yacht with propulsion that meets the TIER III requirements. The propulsion is a hybrid system. Amels teamed up with MTU, Veth and Hug Engineering. Volpini 2 is currently not for sale or charter .
