Founded by Italian entrepreneur Luca Bassani in 1994, Wally initially specialized in sailing boats but has since expanded into building high-tech motor yachts . The new wallywind110, which was fittingly launched on the yard’s 30th anniversary, honors that sailing legacy yet is thoroughly modern in design.

Measuring 100 feet from sheer bow to open stern, the newcomer features a sleek carbon hull, a low-profile coachroof, twin rudders, and a telescopic keel. Showcasing naval architecture German firm Judel/Vrolijk & Co, the first hull is finished in a bright metallic paint that changes color depending on the light.

Wally’s in-house design team worked with Italian firm Santa Maria Magnolfi to create an exterior and interior with a spacious feel. The team decided to relocate all the technical equipment to the stern in order to create a large, 860-square-foot cockpit comparable to that of a sailing superyacht of 197 feet or more. The interior layout includes multiple entertaining areas, an open-plan salon, a full-beam owner’s cabin, three guest cabins, an office, and accommodation for five crew.

The second wallywind110 is already under construction, with delivery expected soon.

This well proportioned luxury yacht measures 34 meters (110 foot) and was built in Seattle Washington at Delta Marine Industries in 1994. "INTREPID" , (formerly Beth-A-Belle), is a superbly kept, highly pedigreed yacht with three luxury staterooms for the owner and guests and has crew accommodations for four. Designed in house by Delta her interior is the creation of Jack Bursack.

This vessel has been donated to a highly respected American Kids Charity, and is offered on a 3 year Lease-Charter at very attractive terms.

+ Accommodations

"INTREPID" , offers three staterooms with a full-beam, midship-master stateroom below with a full walk-around pedestal king-size bed with his and her bath facilities.

Two guest staterooms are aft of the master with generous accommodations and each features an en-suite head. There is a laundry facility in the hallway going aft.

The starboard stateroom has a queen sized berth athwartships and the port stateroom has a full walk-around double berth, a full walkaround single berth, and a drop down single Murphy bed.

Separate crew accommodations are in the forepeak of the vessel, and served by a private stairwell from the main-deck galley area. The captains berth is a centerline double with en-suite head/shower in the forepeak. The second crew stateroom is aft to starboard and has two over-under berths and en-suite head and shower. Laundry facilities are in the hallway. There is a crew lounge on main deck just forward of the galley - a very functional and practical layout.

+ Interior Walk-Through

From the very spacious aft deck one enters the salon through a double wide sliding door to the main salon. The TV (concealed pop-up) and entertainment system is on the forward bulkhead. There is a U-Shaped couch in mid-salon with a desk and a full wet bar with refrigeration in the aft-starboard corner. A matching cabinet area is to port.

Forward in the salon, (to starboard), a hallway leads to the stairwell with access down to the owners and guest staterooms. Forward again in the hallway is the stairwell to the Pilothouse. Then continuing forward one finds the formal dining area with glass top table and seating for eight. Forward from here is the gourmet galley and the crew lounge with a side cabin access door.

On the port side of the salon a hallway leads forward to the day head and a side cabin entrance door.

+ Deck Layout

Boarding from the molded in swim platform, there are port and starboard stairwells leading up to the aft deck, as well as a pantropic door leading into the Lazarret from the swim platform.

There are full walkaround covered decks port and starboard with a large covered aft deck area. There is engine room access through a telephone booth style door to starboard. Ladder access to the boat deck is to port.

The port and starboard side decks are covered and allow uninterrupted access to the foredeck. There are port and starboard boarding gates. Decks are Teak overlay.

+ Pilothouse

Pilothouse is accessed by a stairwell form the lower deck and features a centerline helm with all flush-mounted electronics. There is a computer station to port, large bench seating aft and cushioned lounge/watchberth to starboard. Access to the Flybridge is from a stairwell to port.

+ Flybridge

The Flybridge is under cover of the double walled insulated hardtop and features generous guest seating (port and starboard), in two semi-circular seating areas with a full wet bar in the middle.

There are two helm chairs, a certerline helm, and full instrumentation with electronics flush mounted.

Aft is the boat deck with hydraulic crane, centerline tender (included in inventory), and chocks port and starboard for two jet skis (No jet skis).

The heart of the electrical system are two 50 KW Northern Lights generators. These are in full sound shield and feature John Deere engines that operate at 1200 RPM'S for long life and reliability.

The ship is served by 120V/240V 1-phase 60Hz through (2) shore power connections.

And the best part is since it was sold and project managed by IYC Global Managing Partner Michel Chryssicopoulos . "This is definitely one of the most exciting and ground breaking projects we have ever worked on!” Chryssicopoulos says. The yacht's communal areas benefit from the catamarans' wide beam, resulting i vast spaces for entertaining, dining, and relaxation. Large sliding glass doors open to create a light and airy atmosphere with a fluid transition between the interior and exterior spaces, allowing guests to enjoy both while maintaining a strong connection with the ocean. Accommodation is for 12 guests across six ensuite cabins, including a large owner's cabin with a private balcony. There are also accommodations for 12 crew.

The expansive use of glass throughout, including the floor-to-ceiling windows and carefully positioned 11-foot-tall skylights, floods the interior with natural light. The yacht also features a panoramic terrace with a unique vertical garden spanning two decks.

The upper deck houses a spa with a dedicated treatment area and sauna and the swimming pool straddles both hulls on the aft deck. An extendable dock gives plenty of space for an array of jet skis, wakeboards, paddleboards, sea bobs, kayaks, sea-scooters, and e-foils.

Throughout the catamaran, there are various areas for group activities, making it an ideal platform to host a multitude of events. There are several dining space options, including a galley with polarized glass, enabling front-row seats for guests to witness the chef in action. Unique Design: 2021 Downeast 54-foot Custom For Sale

Newport Yacht Builders is a full-service yacht design, new build, and yacht refit enterprise based in Newport, Rhode Island. The Newport-based builder provides a hands-on approach so the client has a single point of contact.

Among the builder’s portfolio is a 2021 Downeast 54-foot Custom Lobster yacht called Pretti Rose , which is currently listed with Northrop & Johnson and up for auction with Boathouse Auctions. The custom motoryacht has a current market rate of $1.995 million and bidding opened on September 5th at $900,000. It’s worth noting the reserve is undisclosed. 

“Starting with a proven commercial hull design from one of Maine’s premier lobster boat builders, our client asked Newport Yacht Builders to develop a lobster yacht that was tailored to the needs of his growing family,” Newport Yacht Builders says. “The Mussel Ridge 54-foot hull and deck were built at Hutchinson Composite in Cushing, Maine. Simultaneously, we built the yacht-finish interior in Newport. What makes this production-design approach to custom boat building possible is our specialized skills and use of 3D laser-scan and CNC technology.”

Dancefloor-sized might be an understanding when talking about Pretti Rose ’s cockpit, which accounts for a large portion of the main deck space. The cockpit is a mostly blank slate for future owners, however, it does have an adjustable lounge pad forward on the centerline. 

“In true lobster yacht fashion the first thing noticed upon visual inspection is the striking lines of this solid work platform. Thoughtful tradition and mass combined in perfect harmony,” says Northrop & Johnson. 

Stepping inside the isinglass, the pilothouse features a Herreshoff-style interior which combines traditional woodwork with modern design elements to create a timeless ambiance. To port, a full galley sits amidships, a dining area with an L-shaped dinette is directly to starboard. Forward, the standing helm station sits to starboard with a companion bench seating adjacent to port. The galley is equipped with a Miele speed oven, a Miele induction flush stove, and under-counter refrigerator and freezer drawers. 

Belowdecks, sleeping accommodations include three staterooms that sleep up to six people. The forepeak master stateroom has a centerline queen berth while the guest cabin to port has an L-shaped single berth. The third cabin is accessed from the cockpit aft and has a single berth. 

Power on this 54-footer is a single 1550 hp MAN Diesel Engine, which gives Pretti Rose a 20-knot top hop.

Owner found safe after boat drifts ashore in Jersey Shore town, officials say

The owner of a boat was located safe Friday as a large scale search was initiated when the vessel washed ashore in North Wildwood, according to a Facebook post from police Friday.

The U.S. Coast Guard station in Atlantic City initiated a search along the Wildwood coast, Coast Guard officials confirmed Friday, as a multi-agency effort to search for potential victims began.

The abandoned boat was discovered early Friday morning in the area of First and Surf avenues, officials said.

Authorities eventually located the owner of the boat, who was confirmed safe early Friday morning in a hotel room, officials said.

Details on what led to the boat being washed ashore were not shared by authorities.

An investigation into the incident by North Wildwood police is ongoing, according to the social media post, and officials have asked the public to avoid the area.

Officials with the North Wildwood Police Department did not immediately return a request for additional comment Friday.

Searchers recover bodies of both men missing since boat crash off Old Saybrook

Authorities have located the bodies of two men that had been missing since a boat crash off Old Saybrook on Monday night.

Department of Energy and Environmental Protection EnCon Police said they located the body of one man around 12:10 p.m. on Friday. They said search crews located the body of the other missing boater around 4:30 p.m.

Nine friends were returning after spending Labor Day on Block Island when the 31-foot motorboat they were in hit a jetty around 9:15 p.m. Monday, according to DEEP officials.

Christopher Hallahan, 34, of Westbrook, was found dead in the vessel , according to authorities. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that he drowned and ruled his death an accident.

Six other people who were on the boat were taken to the hospital and one of them is in critical condition, Connecticut Environmental Police Captain Keith Williams said Tuesday morning.

They haven't released the identities of either of the men pending family notification. An autopsy will be conducted to determine cause and manner of death for both.

Local News | LoveBug yacht towed out of West River after overturning in July, partially sinking

Salvage vessels from Donjon Marine Co., the New Jersey-based firm that worked to raise the yacht over the last two weeks, departed from the West River with the LoveBug in tow shortly before sunrise Saturday morning, according to VesselFinder, a marine traffic site.

The fleet which included two tugs, crane barges and the yacht, passed under the Bay Bridge just after 8:30 a.m.

The LoveBug is being towed alongside the Farrell 256, a 200-foot crane barge, for safety, as the yacht is a “dead ship,” or a vessel without power, said Steven Newes, senior vice president of Donjon.

On Monday, Newes said the salvage team planned to tow the yacht north through the bay and the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal to the mouth of the Maurice River in New Jersey. Departure was expected to happen Tuesday , with delivery to a smaller vessel for transport to a shipyard along the river originally slated for Wednesday evening.

Why the salvage team’s voyage was delayed is unclear.

The vessels’ departure marks the end of several weeks of work to raise and free the submerged LoveBug from the muddy bottom of the West River. The LoveBug had settled into the mud “quite a bit,” Newes said, complicating efforts to place slings underneath the yacht to lift it.

Mud was also found inside the yacht once it was lifted, Newes said, which needed to be removed to patch the yacht and “render it safely afloat” for towing.

Until salvage crews pulled the LoveBug from the water, the yacht had remained aground in the same location between Beverly Beach and Shady Side for almost four weeks. Though the yacht was originally resting on its starboard, or right, side, it rolled some before salvage began.

The Italian-built yacht was sailing south on the Chesapeake Bay from Annapolis on July 27 when it began to tip over. The Coast Guard received a Mayday call at 12:36 p.m., but by the time crews arrived, the five people on board had been rescued by a good Samaritan and a nearby towboat. Paramedics tended to two of the passengers, according to the Anne Arundel County Fire Department, but both declined to be treated.

The LoveBug, which cost between $110,000 and $125,000 to charter for a week, was not operating as a charter when it overturned, said Hunter Dortenzo, a Natural Resources Police spokesperson.

Though VesselFinder, a marine traffic site, indicated the LoveBug is owned by Bees Honey LLC, a limited liability company based in the Marshall Islands, Federal Communications Commission records show otherwise.

The yacht’s shipboard radio station license is registered to Jabulani Charter Florida, a Florida-based limited liability company with a Rockville mailing address. The licensee should be the vessel owner, according to an FCC spokesperson. Efforts to reach the person listed as the licensee were unsuccessful.

The Natural Resources Police and the National Transportation Safety Board are conducting separate investigations into what happened to the yacht.
