I have been navigating the US waters for nearly 15 years beginning in San Francisco bay where I purchased my first vessel, a 24 foot Bayliner, “The Marmallee I” named after my late sister Marmallee. I quickly outgrew this and acquired a 34 foot Rinker which I named The Marmallee II since I didn’t even have my first vessel for a year!

In addition to myself, all charters are Captained by a licensed USCG Captain and navigate completely under USCG regulations. We keep all required safety gear and then some on board including GPS tracking, Satellite SOS emergency transponders, life vests, first aid supplies, life raft for 8, additional inflatable rafts, night vision camera, XM satellite weather and more, above and beyond what is required to ensure a safe and memorable charter.  I am delighted to add this new custom upgraded 2022 Jenneau 1095 NC Fly to my yachting portfolio. As we depart the marina, It’s a short motor out of Bayboro Harbor and into Tampa Bay. We will hoist the sails and set off toward the famous Sunshine Skyway Bridge. It’s about a 2-hour sail until we pass under the monstrous 430-foot high bridge, continuing on for another hour before we reach Egmont Key. At any time, a dolphin, manatee, turtle, ray, or shark can make an appearance.

Upon arrival, your captain will drop anchor and prepare the dinghy for the short shuttle ride to the beach. Once on shore, you’ll find this enchanted island paradise is packed with surprises. Tortoises, Ruins, a Lighthouse, and the most beautiful beach you’ll ever see! This excursion will make you feel like you’re sailing to a remote Bahamas island.

After 2 hours of exploring, the captain will pick you up and bring you back to the yacht. We will then begin to make our way back, once again sailing under the Sunshine Skyway bridge.

If you have chosen to return in the evening, you will be greeted with the most amazing view of the setting sun as we approach St. Petersburg. Your captain will set the boat up for the perfect sunset photo before it disappears over the horizon. We will then drop the sails and motor back into the marina, just in time for you and your party to grab a late dinner in one of the many downtown St. Petersburg restaurants.

This is a full day of Sailing and Exploring. The natural beauty of Florida will be on full display and it will surely be a day your family will never forget.

Amazing, We had a great time no hiccups, returned in one piece life is great, especially when you get to ride on a beautiful boat with captain that makes safety a priority and knows how to have a good time out on the water, with great time management to get you where you want to go. I recommend bringing bug spray in case you want to go on an island or bring protective gear from the bugs as the islands are very beautiful but they can have some nasty bugs that bite.

100% great time! Communication was easy, rental process was simple, Frank hooked it up with a map of the bay that helped out a lot!, the boat was clean/ran well, sound system was a plus along with the cooler he had on board. Looking forward to working with Frank again in the future.

We had the best time with Kevin! We decided last minute we wanted to rent a boat, and Kevin was quick with his responses. We went out to a sandbar and had an absolute blast. Next time we are in Tampa, we will rent with him!

Wow! I could not have asked for a better owner. He was helpful, attentive, and a great host! He answered all of our questions and the boats were excellent. I'd love to book with him again. What stood out the most is when we got lost and needed help in the shallow water, He came to come and get us and helped us sooo much. Chris was such a great host! We had a bachelorette party on the boat and we had the best time! We saw dolphins and went to two different sand bars. Chris knew all the best places and showed us a great time! Definitely recommend!

The boat was fast enough for my daughter to wakeboard and everyone was able to tube. We also tied up at shell island and had time to play. Bluetooth connection to the boat stereo lets you play your favorite sunshine playlist. 6 adults & 1 kid fit comfortably.

Our son was home from the army so we rented a 21’ deck boat for the day. We had an awesome time on the water. We were on the water shortly after we arrived. They make renting a boat super easy. We will definitely be back in the near future.

Where is the boat located.

Your rented vessel will be in the water upon your arrival to the boarding location. All rentals are to be boarded at the Jungle Prada Boat Ramp. Address: 8324 Elbow Ln N Saint Petersburg, FL 33710 United States. The boats can be trailered to your nearest ramp depending on availability and mileage.

How old do you need to be to rent?

Renter must be of 23 years or older.

Who pays for fuel charges?

A full tank of fuel is included with your rental price!

Where can I take the boat on the water?

Depending on weather conditions, renters will be advised on where they can safely operate the boat on their rental day (inter coastal/nearshore/both)

Can I fish off the boat?

While most boats are not built for fishing and therefore do not have a live well or rod holders, you may bring your fishing tackle onboard in attempts to get a big catch!

How far in advance can I reserve a boat?

We can take reservations with a day in advance, a month in advance or longer!

What if I want to cancel my rental?

As long as you cancel prior to 48 hours of your rental time, you can avoid a $100 cancellation fee! Unfortunately renters that do not show up with no prior notice will be charged the full amount of the rental.

What happens if there happens to be bad weather on the day of my rental?

Weather is unpredictable, therefore we do not penalize you for canceling a rental due to Small Craft advisories, marine hazard statements or limited visibility.

What happens if bad weather comes while I am on the water?

If you see conditions becoming more hazardous while you are on your rental we advise to head back to the ramp early to avoid endangering yourself and anyone else on board. Unused time will be refunded in the case of bad weather while renting. (Special conditions apply for multi day rentals)

What happens if the boat breaks down?

If any issues arise with the normal function of the boat while you are renting please call us as soon as possible so that we can guide you through fixing the issue or get you home safely and timely.

Can I preform water sports towing behind the boat?

The boats may not be used for any towing activities.

What do I need to rent?

1. NASBLA accredited boating license or temporary boating license If you do not have a boating license you can apply to get a temporary license here( Temporary License Site ) 2. Pay reservation fee, security deposit, and rental fee

What if we are late to the dock at the end of the rental?

If you arrive more than 30 minutes late to the dock without prior notice or without valid reason there will be a $50 late fee taken out of security deposit.

Can I rent for multiple days if I have a place to keep it on the water?

Depending on availability and advanced notice, YES! For multi day rentals please contact us so we can go over full details.

Who may rent a boat.

Anyone who possesses general boating knowledge is 18 years and up as long as they have a current driver’s license and a valid credit card.

What types of boats do you offer?

We offer pontoon boats for rental. They are all well-maintained and new boats are cycled in yearly.

Are life-jackets provided?

Standard, adult, and coast guard regulation life jackets (the orange ones we’ve all seen) are provided. Adults are not required to wear personal floatation devices (PFDs). Children 12 years and younger are required to wear PFDs while the boat is underway. By law, there should be 1 PFD for every person and 1 throw cushion per vessel.

What should I bring on the boat?

The essentials are water and sunscreen! You’ll probably also want to pack beach towels, and a cooler (we also can provide a cooler and do have ice for sale) with snacks and beverages, sunglasses, and bug spray. BUT, Please but no glass containers and no grilling. If we find evidence of glass or grilling on a boat, you will be charged a minimum $50 fee. Alcohol is allowed on the boat for passengers to enjoy – it is prohibited for the operator to be under the influence while boating.

How do I schedule a reservation?

Simply click on BOOK NOW on this website and follow the instructions. ALL BOOKINGS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE. A six-month credit is provided on cancellations with at least 72 hours' notice of the booking; otherwise, the booking is void and you do not receive credit. No credit or partial credit will be provided for returning a boat to the dock before the scheduled return time (if you return a boat early, there is no credit for unused time).

What if I need to cancel my booking?

Contact the office within the designated cancellation window; if not, the booking is void and you do not receive credit.

What do I do if I have a booking and there is bad weather?

If there is inclement weather (storms with high winds, lightning, and thunder) at the time of your booking and we cancel your outing, you will be contacted and provided the option of a refund or credit. If there is inclement weather during your outing and we call you back to the dock to cancel the outing, you will be provided a partial credit for the time unused. If it is raining on the day of your outing, you may contact us at least two (2) hours prior to your booking and we will provide you with a six-month credit.

Are there any restrictions on where we can take the boat?

The boundaries of our rentals are: The Intracostal Waterway stopping at the north end of The Narrows just before the Indian Rocks Bridge. Much of Boca Ciega Bay. The Intracoastal Waterway is south through Blinds Pass to Shell Island. There is NO GULF ACCESS in our rental boats, and all boats must adhere to the boundary areas at all times. (Due to insurance regulations the boat cannot be taken into the Gulf of Mexico).

I’ve never operated a boat before, do I need to take a class?

We suggest all boat operators take an online boating safety course prior to operating a motor vessel. We provide thorough instructions on operating the boat at the dock.

Where do I fuel the boat?

Fuel is available at the dock where you pick up and return the boat. It is not permitted for you to bring/provide your own fuel. The price of the boat rental does not include tax or fuel. Every boat leaves with a full tank and will be topped off upon return to account for the fuel used.

Security deposit

A security deposit hold (not a charge) will be placed on your credit card 48 hours before your booking starts to cover any incidental damage that may occur during your rental. This hold is released 48 hours after the booking is complete, if no claims are made. The security deposit amount for the boat you are booking will be outlined during the check-out process.

Captain info

If requested, the owner can provide a list of available captains for bareboat charter or the renter can use their own qualified captain. If the boat is being time chartered, the owner will provide the Captain.

The imposing curved glass architecture of The Dali Museum immediately captures your attention. Situated on the waterfront, this renowned museum houses an extensive collection of Salvador Dali’s surrealistic masterpieces, rivaling those found in Spain. In downtown St. Pete’s EDGE District, Bodega is a hip rustic cafe with street seating offering affordable Cuban eats. Each dish at Bodega is made-to-order using quality ingredients and expertly presented in eco-friendly cardboard boxes.

Don’t miss their famous Cuban sandwich on La Segunda bread or their incredible juice bar drinks. Other highlights include the Frita, Guava & cheese pastelitos, and the Cuban cortadito. Vegan and vegetarian options are also available.

Located at the St. Pete Pier, Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille is a fantastic discovery, offering classic American and Caribbean dishes alongside delightful specialty options. Their extensive lunch and dinner menus, coupled with a creative cocktail selection, are sure to satisfy any craving.

Start with Doc’s baked french bread topped with cheddar, Monterey Jack, bleu cheese crumbles, and diced tomatoes. For a lighter option, the Sanibel Spinach Salad with Granny Smith apples and smoked bacon dressing is a perfect choice. Meanwhile, the Macadamia Nut Crusted Grouper will satisfy those seeking a more substantial dish.

At the Sirata Beach Resort , there are several restaurants to choose from, but Compass Grille stands out as our top pick. For dinner, we recommend trying the Chicken Paillard with bacon, spinach, and ricotta or the Thai Shrimp Bowl in a spicy gochujang chili sauce.

Please note that while the food at Compass Grille is excellent, this is an indoor restaurant. For beachfront outdoor seating, you can visit Harry’s beach bar and Rum Runners Bar & Grille.

Although I haven’t personally stayed at the renowned Don Cesar, it’s impossible to miss and not admire the grand pink palace on St. Pete Beach. Affectionately known as “ The Don ,” this opulent resort nears a century in age and is extravagantly luxurious. Enjoy two heated pools, pristine sandy beaches, stunning waterfront vistas, three lounges, and chic rooms in this timeless Gulf of Mexico landmark.

St. Pete and St. Pete Beach are adorned with murals, vibrant creations that distinguish this Florida city. Each visit reveals new street art, rendering it one of the most enjoyable activities in St. Pete. Here are the neighborhoods where you’ll find mapped artworks as shared by the tourism board : Deuces Live, Central Arts, MLK North, Warehouse Arts, Waterfront Museum, Grand Central, and EDGE District.

Murals we love include “Time to Think” by Derek Donnelly and Sebastian Coolidge in the Central Arts area, exemplifying the relationship between commerce and art. Additionally, the captivating untitled mural featuring cartoon animals can be found at 915 1st Ave. N., St. in the EDGE District. There really isn’t a bad one in the whole bunch.

Admire Dale Chihuly Glass Art Works

Dale Chihuly’s remarkable glass exhibits can be found at the Morean Arts Center in St. Pete, Florida’s Central Arts District. The Chihuly Museum entrance fee is $20, but the captivating pieces make it well worth the cost. Delight in Dale’s chandeliers, sea forms, glass flowers, fishing boats, and more within a relaxed ambiance.

The intricate craftsmanship required to create these stunning, curvaceous glass masterpieces is truly awe-inspiring. The Chihuly Collection showcases the world-renowned artist’s unique artwork and is housed in a specially designed building, making it the first of its kind. Don’t miss the specially commissioned Ruby Red Icicle Chandelier.

Please note that the museum is closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving.

Stroll Downtown St. Pete

St. Pete has a large number of upscale coffee shops. I’ve visited a few, and these two really stood out.  Intermezzo Coffee & Cocktails  is a minimalist-looking shop with strong coffee (hooray!) and specialty drinks. And get this—they also serve cocktails!

Then, at  The Merchant: Purveyor of Local Goods , you’ll find an artsy menu with fascinating creations like the Tennessee Whiskey, made a honey latte with bourbon maple syrup. Pair your favorite coffee drink with a Cuban croissant, then browse the treasures in the store the coffee shop sits in. 

Take a Walk

Mirror Lake, nestled in downtown St. Pete, is a picturesque gem. Stroll along the lake, marveling at its avian residents and natural beauty, while embracing Florida’s delightful climate. Be prepared to capture the charm of this photogenic spot in St. Pete.
