Although a few years too late, we celebrated my moms 85th birthday on the CQ Princess. Despite the AC failing for a bit, it was awesome. Brought together many family and friends who are now long gone. Our suggestion, when in doubt, have a huge family gathering on the CQ Princess. Easy to plan and enjoy. We will never forget the memories. Just do it!

I worked for this company and witnessed first hand the racial discrimination they did upon people who were not white ! They would look at your contracts and see if your name seemed "ghetto" as they called it and even went as far as hiring security/police on board during your cruise simply because they were not white. This is for the CQ Princess but the same family owns the restaurant as well. They accidentally hired an officer for a pastors party because he was having an "all white out party" and when they found out he was a pastor they ran and paid off the security guard/armed officer before the pastor seen they hired one! It's ridiculous!! They have kicked people off early and did not treat everybody with the same respect! It's gross ! I quit there and they ended up laying off my mother whom also worked there because she called them out about it. Hired another armed guard for a retirement party because her name sounded "black" It's gross and they are indeed racist !!

What a beautiful venue!! We rented this out for our annual employees dinner. The director Jeff was great about helping to set it all up. The inside is elegant and classy, nice rectangle tables, TV, microphone for announcements, and the staff is incredible. The bottom deck is perfect for dining, but upstairs is where the party is. A bar filled with Top Shelf Liquor awaits you; from single malt scotch, Angels Envy, Cabo Wabo, Black Label, etc. They have beautiful chairs that line up along the boat while preserving the dance floor. Right there is a door to hit the deck for amazing views and the smoking session. The food was good too, from appetizers, main entree, and the desert, it was delicious! We had the Princess for 3 hours, it took us downtown to see the beautiful skyline and returned us safely. I recommend this for weddings, company parties, bday parties, or just to do it.

All I can say is that this was the best way to celebrate my mother's birthday! During COVID we were unsure what we could do but wanted to feel NORMAL or once. The CQ Princess had an amazing 10 person, 3-course meal and cruise option and we decided to give it a shot. It did not disappoint. The music was tailored to my mom's likes, the food was fabulous, and the boat was great for us! PLENTY of room for way more than 10 people BUT we took full advantage of having the boat to ourselves. The open bar option was also fabulous. Would 10/10 return to the CQ Princess!

What a super blast!

This was a great venue and cruise for our company team building outing. The food was very good and the staff was top notch. I would highly recommend the CQ Princess for weddings, company outings, birthday parties, etc.

Matthew was born and raised in and around Louisville Ky. Graduated from Oldham County High School and originally attended the University of Louisville studying Business and Spanish language before enrolling in Culinary school at Jefferson Community and Technical College. Matthew worked in various restaurants around Louisville in both front and back of the house. Although he has always enjoyed cooking, he cannot pin point a pivotal moment in his life that drove him to taking it up as a career. Matthew joined the culinary team at Captain’s Quarters the summer of 2006 and quickly rose through the ranks until he was promoted to Sous Chef in early 2008. After logging time as Sous Chef at Captain’s Quarters he accepted a job as Sous Chef at the world renowned and historic Brown Hotel in downtown Louisville. As Chef of restaurants for both outlets in the hotel Matthew ended his year and a half jaunt at the Brown heading the kitchen of the AAA Four Diamond English Grill. Matthew has just very recently returned to Captain’s Quarters to head the culinary department. He has a lot of excitement and anticipation for the coming year and hopes to make major improvements to both the restaurant and catering operations at Captain’s Quarters and on the CQ Princess.

Exclusive venues

THE OLMSTED

Louisville's favorite event venue located in a park like setting in the Crescent Hill/Saint Matthews area. A perfect space to hold your ceremony and your reception at the same venue. Also hosts weekday corporate entertaining and fundraising event.  Flexibility and convenience like no other in Louisville.  The Olmsted can seat over 500 guests but is intimate and flexible enough for smaller events.

THE CQ Princess

Cruising from Captains Quarters Restaurant the CQ Princess is Louisville's only modern event yacht.  She can host up to 110 guests for a cocktail party on it's two enclosed airconditioned and heated floor or up to 80 guests for a seated affair.  Downtown pickup and dropoff available. Operating year round.

Mastersons Catering is only servicing events at The Olmsted, Captains Quarters and The CQ Princess Yacht.

The CQ Boat Ramp & Harbor is adjacent to the CQ Propety, but not associated with the Marina.  Access is controlled via electronic gate and access is only permitted to members and paid guests.  

Options to launch boats, Kayaks & PWC's is available during business hours of the restaurant by paying $15 in the lobby, OR you can purchase a membership access key that will allow 24/7 access to the ramp.

No overnight boat, trailer or car storage is permitted.

It's important to mention that this is not a free ramp to use.  There are free options in the area, but this ramp is not free.
