The Aseanarean Bluewater Alliance or ABA was formed to serve as a strategic alliance of premier cruising clubs and marinas. Its purpose is to promote nautical lifestyles and seamless marine tourism, by offering premier destinations, sharing local knowledge and offering special privileges for cruising yachtsmen and to support cruising yachts.

The Aseanarean region is defined as the seas encompassing the 10 Asean nations of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

Langkawi 7-Day Yacht Charter Check-In Process

• Upon arrival, please contact our base manager to arrange check-in.
• Only one member of your party needs to complete the check-in onboard. The rest of your guests can enjoy the marina’s facilities.
• A thorough walkthrough of the yacht will be conducted to ensure everything is in order.
• Please notify us one hour before reaching the base so we can prepare for your arrival.

Communication

A WhatsApp group will be set up with the base manager and the technical head for seamless communication during your charter. All requests should be channeled through this group.

Our staff is available from 8 AM to 10 PM. The base manager is on call during the night for emergencies.

RLYC Extras and Additional Services

Fuel, Water, and Return to Base

• The yacht will be delivered with full fuel and water tanks. Refuel before returning to the marina.
• Refueling options include the Petronas station at Telaga Marina or directly at the dock (based on the fuel gauge level).

Return Time

• Please return the yacht to the marina by 17:00 on the day before your charter ends. You will spend the final night onboard at the marina.
• Disembarkation is at 09:00 after the yacht check-out procedures.

Cleaning and Waste Management

• Cleaning: A cleaning fee is included, but the yacht should be returned in a reasonably tidy condition. Smoking is not permitted inside the yacht but is allowed outside.
• Garbage: Dispose of all garbage in the designated containers provided at the marina. Do not leave trash on the yacht or in marina areas.

Getting to Royal Langkawi Yacht Club

Langkawi International Airport (LGK) is about 25 minutes away by car.

Taxis and ride-sharing services are available from the airport to the yacht club. Private transfers can be arranged in advance.

Provisioning Service

• We offer a provisioning service where groceries and necessities can be delivered directly to the yacht before your arrival.
• Self-Provisioning: You can also shop at Billion Supermarket, a 5-minute drive from the marina. Note that Langkawi is a duty-free island, and alcohol is tax-free. Use Grab for travel to and from Billion.

Thailand Yacht Charter

If you plan to cruise to Thailand, please inform us in advance so we can prepare the necessary documents and notify agents in both Malaysia and Thailand. This service is available only from November to April.

Berthing Facilities

• Electricity: Single and 3 phase, from 32A to 100A in all pontoons. 
• Free fresh water 
• Wi-fi Internet access available in the club premises as well as in the entire marina. 
• Shower and Toilet facilities 
• Swimming pool 
• 24 hours security 
• Maintenance services (yacht maintenance yard, travel lift etc). You won't be allowed to do major & noisy work in the marina. 
• Pump out facility, Chandlery in premises 
• Laundry, fax, telephone services 
• Diesel supply. Only diesel is available from the two barges moored at the Bass harbor. The public ferries also use this and the quality of fuel has been noted as quite high. One of the two fuel barges is run by Shell. 
• The marina office will receive and hold mails.

The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club (RLYC) is a premier sailing destination and a popular waterfront for yachtsmen coming through the Straits of Malacca. Located on the legendary isle of Langkawi, - 30km off the mainland coast north western of Peninsula Malaysia – the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club is the midpoint Marina between two countries, namely Singapore and Thailand.

Providing high-quality berthing services and superior facilities, the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club is the largest and only award-winning Marina in Malaysia with 250 berths, accommodating yachts up to 270 feet long. 

The magnificent elegant Clubhouse with verandah boasts a million-dollar view of stunning sunsets, a mountainous backdrop with gleaming luxury yachts floating peacefully on the almost azure blue sea – ‘dreamy island life.’ 

The Marina is installed with sturdy pontoons which are consistently upgraded in compliance with recommended safety standards. In addition to this, our Marina residents and guests have good access to electricity supply, water and fuel for their boats, and a shower room for their hygiene comfort. Boat residents are also provided 24hr security, postal and parcel as well as port clearance services.

In April 2008, the Club gained international limelight when it was recognised as the Best Asian Marina/Yacht Club of the Year, at the Christoffel Asia Boating Awards in Shanghai - a remarkable milestone for the Club, and the country, as it was the first time ever, a Malaysian Yacht Club had won the coveted award since the annual awards commenced in 2005.

The ground floor of Fisherman’s Wharf Langkawi has a multitude of new dining options from casual or lunch–to-go, to fine dining…  such as Jake’s Charbroiled Steaks, Scarborough’s Fish and Chips, Barbosa Pizza & Bar, Darabif Burger and Captain Eva’s Pool Bar. 

Artisan Alley in The Courtyard is a vibrantly decorated retail space with 13 shops offering a full range of artisan products such as costume jewelry, clothing, wooden craft, soaps, candles, handmade ceramic ware, beachwear, books, antique maps, and even Turkish ornaments for home decor.

For some relaxing massage time, head over to the Black Pearl Reflexology & Spa – also located on the Ground floor, solely operated by the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club.

The club can accommodate a variety of vessels including sailing boats & mega yachts for long & short term berthing. Pontoons have direct electricity, fuel & water supply with a complimentary Wi-Fi connection. Full-service maintenance, fixes, & supplies are available at on-site stores for boat owners.

The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club is also home to the Langkawi Yacht Club Hotel & Fisherman's Wharf- a lifestyle destination with gourmet restaurants, shops, & entertainment.

For bigger families who wish to stay at the club, you can choose to indulge in a stay in their 3-bedroom Admiral Suite including breakfast for 6 & a cruise at any time of day for 10 persons. The Admiral Suite includes a mini bar, a dining area, an outdoor jacuzzi & a stunning view overlooking the marina.

Royal Langkawi Yacht Club (‘RLYC’) is located in Langkawi’s famous tourist island in Malaysia. Langkawi is accessable by air (50 minutes from KL Airport, 20 minutes from Penang Airport and 80 minutes from Singapore), rail, road (528km from KL) and ferry (90 minutes with fast ferry from Kuala Kedah jetty and 45 minutes from Kuala Perlis Jetty). Strategically situated 25 minutes drive from Langkawi Aiport and 5 minutes away from banks, major duty free shopping center and ferry terminal.

RLYC offers two restaurants and bar overlooking club marina and beautiful sunset, it is the ideal venue for members to meet up with new friends, entertain clients as well as organize a private party at the restaurant or by the pool. RLYC provides 205 wet berthing for a yacht measuring from 12 meters up to 60 meters length ocean cruisers. Other amenities included are electricity, fresh water, diesel, 24 hours security, high speed wi-fi, shower room, postal and parcel services, laundry, chandlery@pro-shop and port clearance services.

Caution: Strong tidal cross-ways currents can get up to 4 knots during spring tides. Incoming tide runs N to S and outgoing tide runs from S to N.  If possible, it's wise to enter or exit only during slack water, about one hour after high or low water.
