Full description, vessel walkthrough.
The Tiara 31 is built for entertaining. As you enter the cockpit there is ample seating for numerous guests to enjoy time on the water. With a dinette forward to port and helm to starboard, everyone is able to enjoy conversation whether seated or operating the boat. Moving down the forward companionway, a full berth is located forward with the head to port along with a large hanging locker. To starboard there is a full galley.

Fitzroy sailing yacht Mia Cara sold
The 38.8 metre Fitzroy sailing yacht Mia Cara , listed for sale by Bill Titus at Northrop & Johnson , has been sold with the buyer introduced by Henry Smith of Cecil Wright & Partners .
Mia Cara was built in aluminium by New Zealand yard Fitzroy Yachts to Lloyds class, designed by Dubois Naval Architects . Launched in March 2006, Mia Cara was the third Dubois performance sloop constructed at Fitzroy Yachts. She has been immaculately maintained throughout her life, with a refit in 2011, and has earned a formidable reputation on the regatta circuit, taking first place in the cruising division at the 2012 Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta under her previous name Ganesha .
The interior benefits from large spaces and a fresh feel due to Redman Whiteley Dixon ’s use of walnut with wenge accents complemented by luxurious pale fabrics. On deck guests can relax in the shade under the covered cockpit which also provides a delightful al fresco entertaining and dining area. On the technical side, she has a 48.5 metre carbon fibre main mast from High Modulus and Reckmann hydraulic furlers for the genoa, blade sail and removable staysail. Deck gear is by Lewmar and Harken.
Comfortable accommodation is for up to 10 guests in four cabins consisting of a full-beam master suite, a VIP suite, a convertible twin/double with a Pullman berth and a further twin with a Pullman berth. All cabins have en suite facilities. Under power, a 700hp Caterpillar engine gives her a range of 3,750 nautical miles at 10 knots.

MIA CARA Sold by Northrop & Johnson

Northrop & Johnson is proud to announce the sale of the 127-foot (38.8m) sailing superyacht MIA CARA by Yacht Broker Bill Titus, acting on behalf of the seller. The yacht was listed with Northrop & Johnson for less than a year before her sale.
Sailing yacht MIA CARA was launched in 2006 by Fitzroy yachts. Powerful, welcoming and sophisticated, this impressive yacht is ideally suited for day cruising or world exploration. She features exterior design by Dubois Naval Architects and interior styling by Redman Whitley Dixon Ltd. The yacht was designed to provide a high level of both safety and performance. MIA CARA features a timeless aesthetic and has benefitted from numerous upgrades and updates in recent years, including tender, sails, main engine and generator overhauls.
The interior of MIA CARA is accessed via retractable sliding glass doors. The salon is large and spacious with the added benefit of an abundance of windows that provide nearly 360-degree panoramic views. English walnut is used throughout to create a rich, warm, welcoming atmosphere. Guests can enjoy meals in the salon at a large dining table that welcomes all. Forward is a navigation station that can quickly be transformed into a buffet with the push of a button. MIA CARA’s upper salon is outfitted with a wet bar while the lower section features lounge seating. The yacht’s galley is well equipped for long-range voyaging if so desired.
Four staterooms welcome up to 10 guests aboard MIA CARA. These include a master with a king bed, a VIP, one double and one twin. All staterooms aboard the yacht have en-suite bathrooms. MIA CARA runs with a crew of six.
The uncluttered deck spaces of MIA CARA ensure she has lots of room for relaxing and watching the waves and wind while under sail. The yacht’s built-in deck salon is perfect for lounging or dining and her drop-down swim platform sets the perfect stage for diving into the water.

Historical:
Eighteen boats were built for members of the New York Yacht Club, ownership was decided by lot and the contract price was set at $4,200 delivered.
All hulls were double-planked above the waterline, and single planked below on oak frames. All eighteen were delivered and equipped with 88 separate items, all of which were required to be on board for racing purposes except one anchor and rode, which was not required during racing.

I sailed on the Cara Mia in about 1958, as my brother in law, Richard L. Vennell was the navigator, very experienced sailor, and good friend of the owner, Otto Seifert.
