The yacht was penned in partnership with Dutch designer Bernd Weel and was fully engineered by the naval architects of Dutch firm Sea Level. The robust hull is constructed out of extra-dense, high-end composite materials, while the superstructure is made of lightweight carbon. As a result, the vessel has a low center of gravity and thus increased stability on the seas. In fact, it can handle waves above 13 feet and gale-force wind. It also has an impressive top speed of 36 knots and a range of up to 450 nautical miles.

“I felt the 50-foot category needed a tough, resiliently robust vessel, one that is truly seaworthy and built to superyacht standards,” Lengers adds. “A yacht that could cruise with ease even in the toughest of weather conditions: an SUV on water.”

Onboard, however, you can expect “supercar GT quality.” The carbon hardtop, which required a year of research and engineering, even has an automated sunroof like your favorite Ferrari. You’ll also find ergonomic pilot seats with shock absorption and an “indestructible” wet bar. Below deck, there are large windows in the hull to ensure the living quarters receive plenty of natural light and cabins for up to four guests.

Lengers says the yard will build a limited number of yachts each year to ensure quality craftsmanship. Now that’s what you call Dutch built.

Her clean hull lines and wide beam aft are the foundation for the outstanding space and capabilities of the Oyster 495. She incorporates many of our big yacht features in a compact 50 foot yacht. Instantly recognisable as an Oyster, the Oyster 495 features our pioneering deck saloon, protected cockpit and helm stations, wraparound and forward-opening saloon windows. The best motor yacht length is defined by both the objective and purpose of the vessel. Added to this one should consider both the budget and upkeep costs, including dockage fees, as these are most often calculated at a per foot rate. The next factor would be to select a good for the number of passengers you wish to have aboard (family, guests, crew), as the number of sleeping berths are limited on smaller hull sizes. As you increase your hull size, you need to consider that this will then add an extra headcount because you have to factor in additional space for crew.

They say the old golden unwritten nautical rule is that boat length is always defined by a person’s age. Whatever your age, double it, and that gives you a perfect hull length in feet (for example, if you are 40 years of age you should consider an 80ft hull length).

They can cost anywhere between $100,000- $10,000,000. The sky’s the absolute limit when it comes to what you can spend on a motor yacht. Used or new, the cost is often defined by the design, size and year of manufacture. Quality motor yachts are built to last and most often retain market related value if they are properly maintained and have an accident free history.

Motor yachts are generally between 33ft – 79 feet, super yachts are generally over 79 feet in hull length, and mega yachts are over 100 feet.

The established global motor yacht brands offer a range of existing designs that can be customized to suit any individual requirement. These approved motor yacht designs are often updated with the latest technology and modifications over the years. A tip is that reputable international brands retain market value over the years so are considered a valuable investment.

There is never one best hull type for a motor yacht, there is rather a series or collection of yachts or vessels that are released and they often use the exact same hull design for different lengths in a series. There is a huge selection and variation of hull designs, and this is exactly what defines a yacht. Motor boat hulls are specifically designed to cut through water with the least possible resistance while remaining balanced in all types of weather and water conditions. Each year hull designs improve and often a new hull release is about using the latest carbon fiber molding techniques for structural strength, rather than a modification to the actual shape of the design.

Super yachts are power driven water vessels specially designed by yacht engineers and shipbuilders and are normally 71 – 99 feet in length. Super yachts that exceed 100ft in length are classified as mega yachts.

Offering all of the essentials you’d expect to find on a much larger yacht, including foredeck relaxation zone, walk-around side decks, all-weather alfresco mezzanine entertaining, spacious luxurious saloon with internal staircase to an enclosed air-conditioned flybridge and state-of-the-art helm. The generous three cabin/two-bathroom accommodation deck is bathed in natural light from tinted glass hull windows and features a magnificent full-beam master stateroom.

Engineering excellence matches her very sporty looks with real sports performance. The 50 SMY is available with highly efficient power twin diesel Volvo Penta IPS950 engines to deliver a smooth, quiet and efficient ride.

Finally, her wide, open cockpit enables all manner of water sports action. Beneath the staircase to the flybridge, you will discover fine handcrafted cabinetry that houses the liquor storage complete with built-in lockers to keep glassware and bottles secure.

Large and luxurious. Walk-around queen island bed, chaise lounge, drawer bureau, entertainment centre, large hull windows and opening ports, designer ensuite and walk-in robe create a luxe, opulent retreat.

Optional Laundry Station

Pack a little lighter and stay a little longer. The optional stacked washer and dryer can be discretely and centrally located in the companionway behind twin doors that slide inside the cabinetry to allow companionway access whilst the laundry is in use.

Internal Flybridge Access

Convenient and easy. A statement in style. Ascend an internal staircase complete with curved solid timber treads from the saloon. A weatherproof and lockable hatch seals the saloon from the three-sided enclosed flybridge.

Sensational Flybridge

Superb all-round visibility. Underway or at anchor the flybridge becomes another entertaining deck. Sumptuous U-shaped lounge with folding hand-finished timber table can convert to a daybed or additional accommodation. A wet bar with drawer fridge serves the flybridge.

7 Year Structural Limited Warranty

Providing the ultimate assurance for Riviera owners that the quality of their hull, deck, flybridge and hardtops are engineered and crafted for superior blue-water performance. Cruisers Yachts 50 GLS

The 50 GLS for sale at your local dealer is the flagship in the adventure-seeking GLS series of sport luxury bowriders. The 50 GLS features relaxing bow seating, dinette seating accompanying an ample exterior galley, and a generous cockpit complete with dual beach doors. The accommodation level features a forward queen size berth, a mid-berth sleeping area, and a head with a separate shower.

The 50 GLS’ cockpit features a midship galley and opposing L-shaped seating area, two aft-facing L-shaped seating areas, and additional bench seating. The transom area features a standard grill, sink, and storage.

The 50 GLS OB is powered with triple 600 Mercury Verados. The joystick piloting allows you to navigate with ease at a top speed of 56 mph.

Beach Doors

Expand your swimming area by lowering both sides of the 50 GLS to convert them into a swim platform. The easy to access controls and safety mechanisms allow for endless family fun.

Cockpit Galley

The galley features a fiberglass inlay sink, fridge, and storage. There is also an option for a second refrigerator. The galley is located in the cockpit for easy flow of conversation to guest sitting at the dinette. There is an optional pop up 55’ TV.
