This started in 1910 when APYC Commodore McRitchie noticed a group of boys sailing model boats on the lake. He took an interest in them and formed the Albert Park Model Dinghy Club. The Commodore saw them growing and suggested they start sailing. He organised the design and building of a small one-design 8ft yacht.
