We traveled from Maryland to attend a high school regatta hosted by CLYC. It was cold and rainy but that didn't matter because the club took us in like we were old friends. We were told to make ourselves at home in all areas of the club. They provided breakfast and coffee both days. They opened the bar at 11 am and gave us access to the snack menu all day. The food was delicious. The bar staff was warm and friendly. The regatta was run more professionally than any I have ever seen and the viewing was spectacular. Our whole group was extremely grateful for the hospitality. If I'm ever in this area again, I hope to sail out of this club. If I lived in this area, I'd definitely be a regular there.
My friends and family went to a wedding last week. Most of us traveled 500 miles and better. The wedding was held outside in the heat. When we went into the restaurant to relax and cool off, we found out there was no conditioning. Half the people were 60 and older. The employees told the bride that the air-conditioner was broken... I was told there was no air-conditioner and never was. You would think with over 75 people in that small space they would have had at least fans!!!! When most of the traveling people went back to the hotel, they were all hungry. I asked them didn't they eat at the reception... their reply was " It was too hot to eat." I would not recommend this place to anyone unless it is in the dead of winter!!!

Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club. The mission of the Chautauqua Lake Yacht Club is to promote safe sailing on Chautauqua Lake by conducting races, offering sailing instruction, and encouraging cruising. The CLYC is home to a number of fleets including Optimists, Lasers, E Scows, and motorboats.
Home of the 50th E-Scow Nationals Regatta, we are very proud of our yacht club and its members. Located on the southeastern end of Chautauqua Lake in Lakewood, NY, the club is a wonderful watering hole for Salty Dogs and Land Lubbers alike.
