The 144-foot traditional gulet, MARE NOSTRUM has been offering sailing holidays in the Eastern Mediterranean since her launch in 2008. As a dedicated charter yacht, her guest book is filled with the words of very satisfied guests, and it goes without saying that her popularity is testimony to the warmth of her all-Turkish crew of eight. MARE NOSTRUM sails the Aegean coast of Turkey.

MARE NOSTRUM was designed and built in Turkey specifically for private yacht charter with a strong schooner rig, which means that she will sail well when the winds are favourable. Every one of her guests enjoys the utter tranqulity of being aboard as she drifts quietly under sail, and they watch the passing scenery, soak up the sun and keep an eye out for pods of playful dolphins.

The yacht's interior, finished in rich mahogany and marble is resplendent with all the charm of yesteryear thanks to the artistry of local woodworkers and stonemasons. These elements really set off the interior and give guests a chance to completely unwind and feel at home.

During private boat charter MARE NOSTRUM accommodates a party of 12, although as many as 16 guests can dine around a beautiful inlaid al fresco dining table, situated amidships alongside the yachts main bar. This design makes for a pleasant "social hub” right in the centre of the yacht, where guests can gather for meals before going their separate ways to sunbathe, swim or read on the aft deck. Twelve guests are accommodated in 6 cabins, five with a double berth and one with twin singles. This layout has its advantages in that each of the five double cabins is of a comparable size.

The crew are core to the success of a charter. MARE NOSTRUM's crew have been with her for many years and have between them decades of experience in creating the perfect charter experience. The yacht’s chef, for one, was a restauranteur and has spent most of his life creating inspired dishes from locally-sourced produce; the result is fresh, hearty and healthy — superb!

RATE DETAILS

Rate includes.

The Charter Fee includes the charter of the yacht with all its equipment in working order, tools, stores, cleaning materials, basic consumable stores for engine-room, deck and cabins etc.; the crew's wages, food; the insurance of the yacht for marine risk and third party claims and the crew for employer's liability.

RATE EXCLUDES

Advanced provisioning allowance (APA): the charterer is charged extra, at cost, for the charter expenses: fuel for the yacht, RIB or other tenders; food, soft drinks, wines, beers, spirits for the charterer, other consumable stores, berthing dues and other harbour charges away from the yacht's own berth, including pilotage fees and charges for water and electricity taken from the shore, laundry, telephone, fax or telex via radio or Inmarsat, as well as the hire costs of any special equipment placed on board at the request of the charterer. 25-40% APA is given to the yacht prior to the charter to allow the captain to buy fuel and provision the yacht as per the charterer's demands. At the end of the charter, the captain presents full accounts of all expenditure. The charterer is either refunded any money not used or asked to pay any additional costs not covered by the APA.

Mare Nostrum is one of the largest and most exquisite yachts on the southwestern coast of Turkey. This hand-crafted mahogany traditional Turkish gulet is 43 meters in length and is sheathed in luxury at every corner.  It has six identical-sized and tastefully decorated cabins with TVs and ensuite bathrooms that include hydro-massage showers. This rare beauty offers a large dining area in both interior and exterior and the saloon gives guests access to the best in entertainment. This includes a plasma TV, DVD player, sound system, computer, iPod touch, WIFI, Playstation, and a Nintendo Wii.  On the upper deck, a dime has not been spared to provide the ultimate comfort for guests. Several sun lounging areas adorn the upper deck, as well as a Jacuzzi. Other amenities on this world-class yacht include a Waverunner, snorkeling equipment, wakeboard, windsurfer, Ringo, and fishing equipment. This gulet is based out of Marmaris and includes six, bilingual crew ready to give the utmost attention and service to their guests.

The Mare Nostrum sails carrying 12 guests, she has 6 large cabins consisting of 5 master cabins and 1 twin cabin, all cabins have been designed with your relaxation and satisfaction in mind and the interior of the cabins have been decorated with care to an incredibly high standard, attention to detail and styled in a classic high gloss beautiful wood finish that has been hand-built, especially for this vessel and all have air-conditioning, TV, DVD, and music systems and spacious ensuite bathrooms each with home-style W/C and shower. 

Mare Nostrum is a cut above the rest and when it comes to boat decks in today's gulet market, she has an incredible outside lounge with a large fantastic crescent-shaped seating space for all to enjoy, whether you want to relax with a drink in hand or watch TV this is an amazing space. Alfresco dining on deck is an important part of all Sail Turkey cruises, we aim to make this experience the best it can be with the best chef to prepare delicious fresh food, to unique locations, who wouldn’t want their restaurant to have a different incredible view each day, to the dining space provided making every edible experience pure delight. 

A unique feature that adds extra special delight and pleasure is the open deck jacuzzi. Relax and let the bubbles ease away any tension as you cruise past some of the most beautiful bays and islands the Mediterranean has to offer and at night away from the city lights, a blanket of stars will greet you as you take some time for yourself, what better way to end the day. Also on the deck are comfortable sun loungers. 

The interior lounge gives you the option to step away from the heat of the day, here you will also find generous seating and dining spaces along with a TV, DVD, iPad Connection, Internet connection, music system, and the added feature of a fully stocked bar. Mare Nostrum has a crew of 4 to attend to your every need and separate crew quarters giving you complete privacy. For a little extra fun whilst cruising, there is a Stand-Up Paddle Board, Water skis, Ringo, Canoe, Snorkelling Equipment Fishing gear, and Dinghy with a 100 Hp outboard engine on board for all guests to use.

Exclusive Gulet Marenostrum has been designed, decorated, and fitted out to a high standard of luxury with unsparing attention to comfort and security. Each of the spacious equal-sized staterooms reveals beautifully carved mahogany features setting off the comfort and luxury of the cabins. All are equipped with plasma TV, air-conditioning, and en suite bathrooms with hydromassage showers, toweling robes, and luxury toiletries. The distinctive design of the spacious deck has two coachouse type superstructures, one forward for the galley and navigation, and one for the elegant and spacious indoor seating and dining saloon. The long outdoor dining table is located between the two masts, inviting guests to enjoy long and magnificent meals dining al fresco under the awnings or the stars.

Marenostrum yacht’s aft deck enticing ‘chilling zone’ of curved seating banquettes under the fixed awning forms a relaxation and conversation area complete with pop-up plasma TV, and an expanse of a wide cushioned bench for sun-worshippers further back on across the stern. Forward at the bow, a comfortable curved seat embraces the popular on-deck jacuzzi perfect for end-of-day drinks and conversations. Sunbeds for the serious sunbathers are above the saloon and reached by a stairway. The different areas give a remarkable sense of space and movement around the gulet, allowing for guests both time together and tranquil times. Mare Nostrum was built in 2008 and 2023 refit, This gulet is 43 m long and 8,4 m large is in 5 double staterooms, and 1 twin, all with ensuite bathrooms and with linens and bath products as in a 7-star hotel.

On deck there’s a variety of spaces to relax during your charter. A large cushioned area aft (underneath a bimini to escape the sun); cushions for sun-worshippers on the cabin top, and the popular jacuzzi forward. Dining under the stars is sheltered between the two ‘coach houses’. Aft, the cocktail lounge with bar and flat screen TV can become a coffee salon during the day.

Charter Rates Include Gulet and crew rental. 24 hours crew service. Turkish Transit Log Yacht Insurance Wi-fi Port Taxes in Turkish waters Fuel for main engines for up to 3-4 hours cruising per day All bedding ,linens and towels. A/C 6-8 Hours (depending on agreement)

How does charter Agreement work ? Once your chosen Gulet yacht has been confirmed, we will send you a standard Gulet Broker Yachting charter agreement that needs to be signed. If your chosen cruise route requires a different embarking or disembarking place other than the gulet’s central harbor, delivery/redelivery fees may apply.

Payment Options We will require a 50 % deposit of the gulet rental to secure your reservation in Turkey, this is payable by bank transfer. The remaining balance including food monies, is payable 5 weeks before departure by bank transfer or alternatively the full amount may be paid in cash on arrival.
