Fera’s Borderless Mediterranean-Asian Cuisine is inspired by Executive Chef, Simon Petutschnig’s love for Japanese flavours along with the rich source of seasonal ingredients found in Spain. Fera is an interactive journey of Simon’s culinary evolution where texture, flavour and ingredients are paramount. The exclusive menus offered, as well as the a la carte menu, welcome our customers. Fera’s wine list is carefully hand-picked to emphasise wines that communicate a sense of quality and authenticity. Fera is also the only restaurant on the island to offer the award winning Difference Coffee, which was founded with the aim to identify the world’s best coffee and make them with a difference.

Dinner menus, simon petutschnig.

Simon brings together the heat and passion of the Mediterranean with the soul of Asia. Before joining Fera as Executive Chef and partner the Carinthian from the village of Eberstein in Austria has worked with several star chefs. Among others, he worked for “Paco Pérez” in the Miramar restaurant (**), as well as in the “Alkimia” with Jordi Vilà (*).

Fera offers beautifully designed, art filled spaces for all occasions, from intimate gourmet dinners in the private Library, to large celebrations in the main dining room. The patio garden is open at lunch in the Spring and Summer months. It is also available for parties at special request.

Fera is located in a quaint, little alley in the center of Palma. It opened on the 24th of October, 2017 and is owned by Sheela and Ivan Levy and Simon Petutschnig. Their aim was to create a space that had a sense of welcoming warmth, aesthetic art and design, uncompromising service and exquisite gourmet food.

10 good restaurants in the Paseo Marítimo

The Paseo Marítimo of Palma is a large avenue of more than 5 km that runs along the entire coast of the city, from Porto Pí to Playa de Palma

It is named after Gabriel Roca , the engineer who designed and promoted its construction from his position as construction manager for the Port of Palma .

Some sections of its layout already hosted mythical venues before the reform. Tito’s was already a popular nightclub in the 1920s

But the construction of the modern promenade forever transformed the city’s waterfront. Dozens, at some points hundreds, of meters were gained from the sea. Palma Cathedral and its walls, which used to be reflected in the Mediterranean , are now reflected in the Parc de la Mar lake. A large part of the 5.5 km length of the promenade is built on what until then was sea or rocks.

Its inauguration in the 1950s just before the tourist boom was almost prophetic

In its simple but cozy place, decorated in the Hindu style but without fanfare, we can taste delicious dishes with the authentic taste of India. Rooftop El Llorenç

At one end of the Paseo Marítimo, near the Parque del Mar, in the Dalt Murada area, is the El Llorenç hotel, on whose roof it houses the Rooftop restaurant, recently awarded a Michelin Star

Here we can taste the delicacies prepared by the renowned Mallorcan chef Santi Taura, who in addition to preparing the tasting menus explains them to the diners to help them choose. Its proposal is based on two market cuisine menus made with seasonal products inspired by traditional Mallorcan cuisine. It also has a small but sufficiently varied menu, topped off with delicious desserts, all washed down with the best wines. And all this in an elegant setting with privileged views of the bay of Palma and its Cathedral.

This elegant restaurant is located on the Can Barberà dock, in front of the Palma yacht club. On the terrace on the ground floor we can enjoy the sea breeze, while the living room on the first floor gives us magnificent views of the marina and the bay

Its cuisine is a daring fusion of flavors from around the world that we can try with a tasting menu. But we also have the option of eating à la carte, in which case its exquisite rice dishes stand out. It is also a good place to have an aperitif or a drink. The service is friendly and attentive and knowledgeable about the products they offer, it is worth following their recommendations.

This well-known restaurant located at one end of the Paseo Marítimo, in front of the Porto Pi lighthouse, has been reinvented as a gastrobar where we can taste a good variety of Japanese starters and others of marine inspiration, such as salmon tartare.

As main dishes we have to choose beef, chicken or salmon. The place is quiet and elegantly decorated, and from its terrace we can admire spectacular views over the bay of Palma. The place is in the most central area of ​​the Paseo Marítimo, near the Auditorium. It is decorated in a traditional Hindu style and set with soft ambient music

Another Indian restaurant on the Paseo Marítimo. Just passing by the aroma of his kitchen assails you. Although without being excellent, its dishes are tasty and with generous portions, especially its chicken Masala. The value for money is very good. The service is very friendly although somewhat slow.

In a small square next to the Auditorium we find precisely La Placita. With more than 20 years of experience, it has become one of the references in Italian food on the Paseo Marítimo

Its thin-crust pizzas and the rest of the dishes are made with fresh, high-quality local ingredients. The place is on the ground floor of an old building that, properly restored, has escaped the boom in modern buildings, adding charm to the environment. Being in a square separated from the traffic of the Paseo Marítimo, the experience is more pleasant.

Rice restaurant Sa Cranca

As its name indicates, the specialty of the Sa Cranca rice restaurant is its excellent paellas and other rice dishes, but its fish and seafood are not far behind.

They offer a menu for couples that allows us to savor a little of all their specialties and at a price adjusted to their quality. Its renovated premises are in one of the best locations on the seafront, with beautiful views of the sailboats. The decoration is elegant and cozy, achieving a very pleasant atmosphere.

L’Artista Pizzeria Napoletana

This pizzeria opened in 2014 offers us an extensive menu of pizzas, pastas and other Italian dishes with the highest quality ingredients brought from Italy

It is advisable to book as it fills up, which is a good sign of its quality, and be patient, precisely because it does get crowded. The decor is simple but cozy, and the atmosphere is informal and familiar. It is very well located on the Paseo Marítimo.

This Irish pub has already become a Palma classic. Its main offer is a wide variety of imported beers and live music in a place with magnificent views over the Paseo Marítimo

But we can also enjoy a good meal based on tapas , sandwiches, hamburgers or grilled meats. Ideal for young, or not so young, passionate about live music who want to have lunch or dinner, or have a beer, in an informal atmosphere.

Of course, it doesn't need to stop there and, fortunately, you don't need to be thousands of metres up in the sky to enjoy stunning vistas. Mallorca is full of them. Here are some recommendations where feasting on the view is a must.

1. Sa Foradada – near Deià

If you are after a delicious paella served with memorable sea views, then Sa Foradada is an absolute must. On a cliffside overlooking the glistening sea of the west coast of the island, its location makes it a prime spot for sunset watching. You can’t drive here, so will either have to walk down the mountain via the Son Marroig estate , or visit by boat and head up the steps from the water. It’s a no-frills kind of place, famed for its tasty paellas cooked over an old-fashioned wood-fired grill.

2. Ca's Patro March – Cala Deià

This restaurant has been firmly placed on the map thanks to the BBC drama ‘ The Night Manager ’ and that famous kidnapping scene. Ca's Patro March is in a paradise setting, sitting up amongst the rocks of Cala Deià , overlooking some of Mallorca’s most crystalline turquoise waters. Here is seafood heaven for fish lovers but, if you prefer your food from land-based sources, there are some good meat and vegetarian dishes too. Be warned, there is often a queue for tables even if you have booked but you can easily pass the time soaking up the spectacular surroundings down in the cove. You can enjoy both lunch and dinner here in the summer months, however, being on the west coast, it’s particularly special during the last golden hour of the day.

3. Cassai Beach House – Colonia de Sant Jordi

If you find yourself in the south-east of Mallorca, then a trip to Colonia de Sant Jordi should be on your agenda. Cassai Beach House is a converted old fisherman’s house transformed into a modern and avant-garde venue which makes the most of its seaside setting. Traditional dishes with a modern twist make a regular appearance on the menu including soups, sausages, rice, meat, and fish. You can dine whilst enjoying the wonderful view over the water all the way over to the island of Cabrera on a clear day.

4. Mhares Sea Club – Puig de Ros

Mhares Sea Club is a  beach club at the foot of a cliff near Llucmajor , and feels deliciously exclusive. Located just within a 15-minute drive south of the capital, its spacious terrace is on the front line of the sea and enjoys stunning views of the Bay of Palma , with the rugged rock face to the side of the restaurant enhancing the feeling of escape and seclusion. The beach club offers a vision of idyllic summer living with terracotta tiles, white Balinese beds and lounge areas. Within the restaurant you can tuck into Mediterranean dishes with a twist. In the evening, their terrace bar serves incredible cocktails while the sun sets, offering a breathtaking spectacle.

5. Illeta – Camp de Mar

If the front line of the seaside isn't close enough, then how about enjoying the sea views from within the sea? You might recognise Illeta Restaurant , which sits on a small rock just off Camp de Mar Beach from the Netflix series 'White Lines'. An idyllic location where you can immerse yourself in the view and enjoy the refreshing sea breeze. Open for both lunch and supper, the restaurant specialises in seafood. Be sure to book ahead as the attractive location and its easy access means it's a very popular stop.

6. Es Fanals

Es Fanals  offers the pinnacle of culinary excellence at the Jumeirah Mallorca . Sitting at the highest point of the hotel on the 9th level, where the rugged mountainous terrain of Soller converges with the serene Mediterranean Sea, Es Fanals offers a dining experience like no other. Each dish is a culinary masterpiece, showcasing unique creations that are a testament to the art of fine cooking and this island. Es Fanals invites you to enjoy Mediterranean flavours through exquisite tasting menus, and you will be pleased to hear the legendary Soller prawns make an appearance. The restaurant is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 19:00 to 22:00.

9. Es Grau – Estellencs

Restaurant Es Grau is located just three kilometres outside the picturesque Tramuntana town of Estellencs , on the Carretera de Andratx . The drive here is full of incredible views of arid landscape meeting the bluest ocean. The restaurant's position on top of a cliff jutting into the sea means the views are breathtaking. Leaning over the balcony you can marvel at the rocky coves accessed only by boat while the shallower turquoise water is so clear you can see the rocks beneath. Go during the day for the full effect. This is the type of place to stop by for a drink or for a casual lunch and is extremely popular among cyclists. The restaurant opens from 10:00 to 18:00 and specialises in Mallorquin cuisine.
