The 198-foot (60.35m) Feadship superyacht BLUE MOON is now listed for sale with Northrop & Johnson Yacht Brokers Kevin Merrigan and Wes Sanford. The yacht is listed for €43,900,000.
BLUE MOON is a truly remarkable superyacht. She was launched by Feadship in 2005, but has benefitted from constant and consistent upgrades, updates and care throughout her life courtesy of her adoring owner and her professional long-time crew. Some of her most recent modifications include a full superstructure repaint in 2018, the upgrade of her Quantum Zero Speed stabilizers to XT fin-type in 2019 and the repaint of her hull and main-deck bulwarks in 2021. The yacht’s interior and exterior both were designed by the renowned Donald Starkey. As such, BLUE MOON has won a variety of awards throughout her life, including “Best full-displacement motor yacht over 56 meters” at the 2006 ShowBoats Awards, among others.
In addition to providing the perfect on-water sanctuary for her owners, this pedigreed luxury motor yacht also has enjoyed a successful charter following. BLUE MOON’s exceptional features are certainly a draw. The yacht has a glass all-decks elevator, an observation lounge that provides sweeping views and a unique and flexible accommodations layout that can cater to almost any type of charter requirement. Furthermore, her on-deck master suite is expansive. At 1,200 square feet, it is no wonder this suite has space for a bedroom, his-and-hers en-suite bathroom, full owner’s office and a private gymnasium. The five additional staterooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, located on the lower deck can be converted to create a three-, four- or five-stateroom layout. This lower deck has an additional gym for guest use.
BLUE MOON features traditional interior styling with comfortable amenities that will delight guests. Various lounge spaces, bars, dining tables and entertainment options are found throughout the yacht. On deck, the yacht provides alfresco dining, a Jacuzzi, sunpads, a swim platform and so much more.

Maybe swap her for my new build and stretched Caledonian Yawl (2015 and 22'6")?
Actually, that would be tempting if we weren't looking for a much bigger boat with which to do some cruising. I'm hoping my last (i.e. final) boat will be about the size of a CY... something I can trailer home at the end of the season and pamper over the winter. But I'm not quite ready for that yet...
I just bought one and stumbled upon this blog... and book... very cool. I am in ri, the boat originally from Maryland then Ct. now ri...
I just acquired a blue moon, what a cool boat, saved from the salvage yard... patching her story together has been great fun...

Built in 2005, Blue Moon boasts a multitude of decks ideal for relaxation and entertainment indoors or outdoors, ensuring guests will live la dolce vita on the open waters. Her features include wheelchair accessibility, elevator, underwater lights and gym.
Guest Accommodation
Blue Moon offers guest accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising a master suite, three double cabins and two twin cabins. There are 8 beds in total, including 1 king, 3 queen and 4 singles. She is also capable of carrying up to 16 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht charter experience.

You and your guests can enjoy a variety of experiences on Blue Moon, particularly a dedicated library, where you can unwind in seclusion. A gym with all the latest equipment is available for a good work out or soak up the bubbles in style in the deck jacuzzi.
Whatever your activities on your charter, you'll find some impressive features are seamlessly integrated to help you, particularly wheelchair-friendly access, making this vessel suitable for all guests. Guests of all ages and physical abilities can enjoy any part of the yacht thanks to the elevator or a separate crew passageway offers you the option of peace and quiet on your charter. Satellite communication systems keep you in touch wherever you voyage plus make your evenings more memorable with stunning underwater lights. With Wi-Fi connectivity you don't have to lose contact with the outside world, unless you want to and you can stay comfortable on board whatever the weather, with air conditioning during your charter.
Performance & Range
Built with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she offers greater on-board space and is more stable when at anchor thanks to her full-displacement hull. Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, she comfortably cruises at 13 knots, reaches a maximum speed of 16 knots with a range of up to 4,700 nautical miles from her 141,700 litre fuel tanks at cruising speed. Blue Moon features at-anchor stabilizers providing exceptional comfort levels.
When not cruising Blue Moon has onboard an incredible selection of water toys and accessories for you and your guests to connect with the waters around you. Guests can experience the thrill and adventure of riding one of the two Yamaha WaveRunners. Another excellent feature are towable toys offering fun and adventure. In addition there are waterskis that are hugely entertaining whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro. If that isn't enough Blue Moon also features wakeboards, kayaks, fishing equipment, kneeboards and paddleboards. Blue Moon features two tenders, but leading the pack is a 8.53m/28' Chris Craft Tender to transport you in style.
Blue Moon is available upon request for charter this summer. She is already accepting bookings this winter for cruising in the Caribbean.

Sail Area / Displacement Ratio
A measure of the power of the sails relative to the weight of the boat. The higher the number, the higher the performance, but the harder the boat will be to handle. This ratio is a "non-dimensional" value that facilitates comparisons between boats of different types and sizes. Read more.

- SA : Sail area in square feet, derived by adding the mainsail area to 100% of the foretriangle area (the lateral area above the deck between the mast and the forestay).
- D : Displacement in pounds.
Ballast / Displacement Ratio
A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.

Displacement / Length Ratio
A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. Comfort Ratio
