Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4 Finale Recap: You Grow Through What You Go Through

When last we left Below Deck Sailing Yacht (which seems like only minutes ago), Chief Engineer Colin MacRae and Chief Stewardess Daisy Kelliher were having a serious discussion about how First Mate Gary King was disrupting their relationship.

“I am definitely starting to realize,” Daisy interviewed, “that I need to put some distance between mine and Gary’s relationship, in order to have some control over Colin and my relationship.” We’ll see how that goes. I don’t think Gary is going to give up easily.

Preparing for the Anything But Clothes (ABC) Party

Captain Glenn Shephard thought the ABC party would be a “naked” event. But as the guests were getting ready, it looked like “anything but clothes” meant exactly that. The guests were getting dressed in duct tape, chains and wires, and water floaties. The shot of Todd’s mom Debra kneeling in front of him, blowing up the unicorn around his waist, was borderline obscene. At least very suggestive.

Junior Stew Lucy Edmunds was clad in a garbage bag. “My butt is f*cking sweaty right now in these bin bags,” she interviewed. “I would not f*cking go to an ABCDEFG party again.”

Dressed in her normal uniform, Chef Ileisha Dell announced the first course for dinner. “Here we have some cultivated oysters and some wild oysters with a pink peppercorn mignonette.”

As she walked away, Todd’s mom Debra asked, “Have you ever seen such a tiny chef?”

For the second course, Ileisha presented a Rainbow Pappardelle with Burnt Butter Sauce and grated manchego. Sounds delish!

Todd was smitten. “Will you become our nanny?” he asked Ileisha.

Another hellscape in the guest cabins

While the guests enjoyed their dinner, Lucy and Daisy were down below cleaning guest cabins. They were a terrible mess, covered with the detritus of everyone getting ready for the ABC party. At least it’s not puke in the sink this time.

Gary, dressed in what looks like toilet paper and a traffic cone covering his genitals, was recruited for a game of ring toss. He gamely lay down on an ottoman, while the guests aimed plastic coathangers at his cone.

The guests didn’t have very good aim. “One hanger out of 21,” Gary later reported to Glenn, who laughed uproariously.

Clearing the table after dinner, Lucy happily said, “Last night I have to do this.”

Gary stirs the pot one more time

“Last sleep I get to sleep with my Sea Doggy Dog,” Gary said, crawling into his bunk above Colin. “This was a rollercoaster of a season … So what’s going to happen with you and Daisy?”

“What do you mean?” Colin asked.

“It’s either going to be you and her together,” Gary continued, “or it’s going to f*cking end very badly. Don’t let a good friendship go, due to something that you guys don’t even know if it could work out.” I think Gary’s the last one who should be giving relationship advice.

“After everything that’s happened between Gary and I,” Colin interviewed, “the lies and the flirting and the manipulating, our friendship is the one that’s in jeopardy. So, nothing he says is affecting how I feel about Daisy.”

Praying for strength

Lucy was still on duty behind the bar, waiting for the last couple of guests to go to bed. Deckhand Chase Lemacks , on anchor watch, came in and knelt next to her behind the bar. “Dear God, give us the strength to get through this next 24 hours.” Cute, Chase.

“Tomorrow night’s going to need some strength as well,” Chase added, as guests Todd and Grant were shown sneaking down the stairs from the sundeck completely naked to pee over the side of the boat. Thanks for blurring that, Bravo.

Apparently, they actually slept all night under the stars, because the next morning Todd and Grant were folding up their bedding on the sundeck, with clothes on this time. I’m actually a little jealous. Sleeping under the stars is awesome.

Last day of the charter season

The crew was looking forward to saying goodbye to the guests and having an evening out to blow off some steam.

Coming off his anchor watch, Chase wished a good morning to the other deckhand Alex Propson . “Really looking forward to tonight,” Chase said. “I’m ready to see you make some moves [on Junior Stew Madison “Mads” Herrera ].”

“Gary’s not gonna be my boss in a matter of hours,” Chase interviewed. “To me, that’s fair game.” All season, Chase claimed that the only thing preventing him from going after Mads was that he didn’t want to make it awkward with Gary. Also, he’s usually too drunk to make it happen. We’ll see if he can restrict his alcohol intake enough tonight to get something going with Mads.

“Your last meal of the season, Cheffy!” Gary told Ileisha, who was making breakfast in the galley. Grabbing Mads and planting a big kiss on her, she made her objections known, “No, no, no, no, no!”

“This roller coaster ride is not one I want to ride anymore,” Mads interviewed. “So I’m trying to avoid [Gary] like the plague.”

Heading back to the dock one last time

Glenn radioed Gary, “You guys can start packing up.” But they’d already started, knowing it was almost time to go.

“This is it, our last cruise home, G,” Alex said. “Appreciate your patience and teaching.” What teaching? Gary was more interested in chasing the girls than in teaching his crew. “What a guy,” Alex muttered, as Gary left the laz without acknowledging Alex’s undeserved thanks.

As the last breakfast items were carried out to the guests, Ileisha and Alex celebrated in the galley. “We did it, we did!” they chanted, jumping up and down.

Gary pressures Mads

Catching Mads alone in the laundry room, Gary pressed her to define where they stand with their relationship.

“Um … ,” Mads stalled. Gary’s just not picking up on what she’s putting down (or not putting down, in this case). “I thought we were just having fun.”

“Are we?” he said. “Okay, that’s fine.” And he made a hasty exit from the laundry room, much to Madison’s relief.

“What I would have liked,” Gary interviewed, “is to tell me this from after the first time we hooked up and I asked you, how is it between us?” Um, I think she did.

And one of the producers affirms that for me, “What if I told you she did?” She did, and Gary wasn’t listening. She told him over and over and never really showed any interest in him unless she was drunk and horny. Gary’s really bad at reading signals.

“Did she?” Gary asked. “What did she say?”

“It’s just fun, it’s just sex,” the producer answered him.

“Did she say that? When?” Oh, Gary. You are such a bad listener. Cue the clips of all the times Mads told Gary she was “just having sex,” she was “going with the flow,” “just having fun,” “this isn’t serious,” etc. At one point Mads outright told him, “What is happening with us? Nothing.” He never heard any of it.

One last sail for the season

Glenn gave Daisy “two minutes” to get the breakfast things cleared, so they could go for one last sail before reaching the dock.

“I really should work on a motorboat,” Daisy told Mads. “I think it’d be much better for my temperament.”

As the sails went up and the boat heeled over, Daisy asked Ileisha, “Will you ever work in a sailboat again?”

“Nah!” responded Ileisha. It is a beautiful boat, especially under sail. It would just be hard to work at an angle like that.

“Parsifal had a hard time this summer,” Glenn voice-overed. “She’s put us through hell. And to get to this point just seemed out of reach, like it wasn’t going to happen. But we made it through.”

“And now we’re gonna finish on a high note,” Glenn added, “doing exactly what she does best. Attagirl! She’s shining.”

Joining the crew on deck for the first time this season, Ileisha exclaimed, “This is amazing up here. Is this what it’s like, hey?”

Madison sees drama ahead

Back in their cabin, Mads told Lucy, “I think tonight there’s gonna be drama. Gary’s just like, ‘So I’ve caught feelings.’ And I was just like, ‘Well, we’re having fun … ‘ Like, we get drunk and have sex. Like, what do you want?”

“Honestly, I think he’s more into Daisy than me,” she added. Bingo! Give the girl a prize.

Lucy asked her if she didn’t have more sexual tension with Alex, and Mads admitted that she did. Oh, there will be trouble tonight.

The last goodbye

Glenn radioed for the crew to line up on the dock to say goodbye to the guests. “You were wonderful,” Todd’s mom Debra told the crew. She was the sweetest, and her son was, too.

“I believe I need to hand this over to you guys,” Todd told the captain, as he handed over a fat envelope. “Oh, my God! Out of this world! I’m feeling the love here [his stomach] and here [his heart] from you guys.”

“And a little bit in the liver,” his partner Grant added.

As the crew waved and the captain gave the traditional honk of the horn, Chase collapsed on the dock very dramatically.

Gary freaked out, “Chase, Chase, get up, brü! What the f*ck are you doing? The guests are still there! Come on! Have some common decency, brü.” It was a joke, dude. Relax. Both Alex and Chase are over Gary’s nonsense and can’t wait to get out from under his despotic rule.

“Well, I wasn’t sure we were ever going to get to this point,” Glenn said, rejoining his crew. “But we made it! Last time we’re gonna do that.”

“This was the season from hell,” he added, “and we survived.”

Last clean-up of the boat

While doing their last round of cleaning the boat, Chase and Alex let off some steam. “F*ck that guy,” said Chase. “I do one little thing, it’s like, ‘get the f*ck off my boat. Can’t wait to get you out of here.'”

“Yeah,” Alex agreed, “that guy sucks.”

“He turned into a royal f*cking asshole,” Chase added.

“Kind of who he is,” Alex said.

“I want to have a good night,” Chase concluded, “but I do not want to punch this guy in the face.”

The final tip meeting

Glenn called the crew to the “saloon” for the final tip meeting. “From thinking that we’d never get off the dock … I have to say, I’m really proud of how we pulled together as a team,” he said. He complimented various members of the crew and how they had grown during the season.

“This charter tip comes out to $17,500 US dollars.” I would’ve expected more, considering how high-maintenance they were.

Lucy was unimpressed. “17 grand to flush your sh*t over and over? F*ck off! But I’m definitely gonna stay positive, ’cause it’s over!”

Glenn announced that he’d arranged dinner for the crew at a really nice restaurant. He would stop in for a drink, but he would be staying off the boat tonight in order to get a good night’s sleep. I always wonder how he sleeps at all when his crew is drunk and crazy. Champagne all around!

Off to dinner (for the last time)

In the cab going to dinner, Lucy asked Daisy what she thought would happen with her and Colin after the season was over. “I really like him, and I’m happy,” Daisy said. “He’s very insecure about our relationship, which I don’t hold against him, but I think we definitely want to see each other.”

After joining the group for one last drink together, Glenn said his goodbyes and left for his cushy hotel. He would, of course, be back the next day to say goodbye to the crew.

“I gave you trouble earlier today,” Gary told Chase at the table. “Sorry about that. You’ve been copping a lot of sh*t this whole f*cking season, bro.”

“We definitely butted heads at first,” Chase admitted, “but I respect the hierarchy. We both came in 100 miles an hour trying to do a good job.”

“That’s what I like about you,” Gary responded, “is that you come in at 100 miles per hour. I’ve never worked with a deckhand like you, honestly.”

“There’s a lot of things that I want to say to him,” Chase interviewed, “about his leadership and some of the sh**ty things that he’s done this season, but I think it’s best not to burn bridges. You know what I mean?”

Gary feels rejected by Mads

As Madison and Alex flirted with each other at the end of the table, Gary watched sadly, telling Lucy he was “heartbroken.”

“I haven’t had to deal with rejection all too often,” Gary said, “because Gary doesn’t get rejected.” Or maybe he just doesn’t hear it when he does. And seriously, dude, you’re talking about yourself in the third person?

In the van on the way back to the boat, Alex finally planted a big kiss on Madison. She was ecstatic! “Alex finally made a move!” Hopefully, he’s not too drunk to follow through with the rest of the evening. YKWIM?

When they arrived back at the Parsifal, Mads said, “It’s about to be an interesting night, isn’t it?” I think she’s finally going to get her wish.

In their cabin, Mads confessed to Ileisha, “Alex and me made out in the cab. I obviously have to tell Gary.” Why, Mads? He’s not your boyfriend. And he saw you and Alex holding hands. I don’t think you need to go there.

Out on deck, Ileisha asked Alex, “Do you ‘like her’ like her?”

“I do like Mads,” he said. “That’s been the issue all season.”

“You’re gonna be in a sh*tstorm,” Lucy told him. “You okay? Mads is telling Gary now.”

“Why would she tell Gary?” Alex asked, echoing my sentiments.

Mads makes a tactical error in judgment

Back in Gary’s cabin, where the first mate had already retired to lick his wounds, Madison was paying a visit to twist the knife a little further under the guise of “being honest.” Not a great idea, Mads.

“Ummmmmm,” she began, “in the cab … me and Alex … we made out, yeah. I didn’t want you to hear it from someone else.”

“Get the f*ck out of my room,” Gary told her.

“Are you serious right now?” Of course, he’s serious, Mads. How old are you? Why would you tell someone you’ve been trying to free yourself from all season that you made out with the guy you really wanted the whole time? That’s just kind of sadistic. Of course, he’s upset!

After telling her repeatedly to just get the f*ck out of his room, Mads persisted, “Can we not talk about it for two f*cking seconds?” What is there to talk about, Mads? You’ve made it clear you’re not interested in Gary. Why are you putting him through this? It’s messed up.

“I asked you, do you have a thing for him, and now you hook up with him? Get the f*ck out of my room,” Gary continued. “You just played me like a f*cking fiddle. Get the f*ck out of my room. I don’t ever want to see you again in my life.” I warned her.

“Gary’s reaction is exactly why I didn’t break things off with him in the middle of the season,” Mads interviewed. “I don’t know if Gary even f*cking cares that me and Alex kissed or if he’s more upset that he looks like a fool. Because ultimately, Gary’s not serious about anyone — except for Daisy.”

The next morning, Mads bumped into Gary on her way to get some breakfast. “What’s up?” she asked him. “Do you hate me?” When Gary ignored her, she responded, “Good chat,” and kept walking.

The crew says goodbye

This is the part of the season I hate. I hate watching them all get so close over the season and then have to go their separate ways.

Chase was the first to go. “I wasn’t the most tactful [this season]. I said some dumb sh*t. But I’ve learned … about myself, and I can see that I’m an acquired taste.” That’s for sure, but he does have some endearing qualities.

Gary was crying on Colin’s shoulder. “Why did that have to happen on the last night?”

“Maybe they also realized it was their last night together,” Colin said. “Are you mistaking your pride for actually liking her?” Good point, Colin. So much smarter than Gary. Why is Daisy even confused between these two? Colin is so obviously the superior choice.

Next was Lucy. “Oh, my God, I’m going to miss Mads so much. She’s literally like my sister … The interior team didn’t fight once, not even a blip. Just goes to show that women can support women.”

Ileisha was next. “Looking back, I feel like sometimes I self-doubt myself. I knew I could do it deep inside, but there’s just so much pressure riding on it … I have definitely pushed the boundaries of how hard I even thought I could work. Like damn, I’m proud of myself!”

Alex was next to go. “I don’t really regret anything from this season,” he interviewed. “You grow through what you go through … I do really care about Mads. I hope she knows that she deserves better. But I don’t think I’m gonna miss Mads that much, because I’m pretty sure I’m gonna be seeing her again.”

Madison left the boat next. She apologized to Gary, saying, “I really didn’t mean to hurt you … I thought we were having fun, and I’m sorry that … it happened the way it happened.” Gary got a taste of his own medicine this season. Madison learned, “Don’t screw the crew. It’s not worth it.”

Last, but not least

Finding Gary, Colin and Daisy having a last beer together on the sun deck, Glenn quipped, “Oh, sh*t, I thought the throuple left yesterday.” Good one, Glenn.

“We’re a f*cked up throuple,” Daisy agreed.

“This season has challenged me professionally,” Colin interviewed, “it’s challenged me personally. It’s challenged some of the friendships that I’ve got on the boat. I feel like I need a little bit of time away from Gary. There was trust that was broken.”

Colin needs to reconsider his whole friendship with Gary. He’s hopeful about having a future with Daisy, but this weird, dysfunctional love triangle has to go. It wasn’t fun.

“I can understand why my relationship with Gary can confuse people,” Daisy interviewed. “I’m not sure I really understand it, but I think we’ll always be friends.” She’s just hoping that Gary gives her and Colin space to figure out their relationship.

“This season almost broke me,” Daisy interviewed. “I think I’m going to need a lot of therapy.”

“Right now, I think I’m gonna be single for a while,” Gary interviewed. “I need to reflect on myself a little bit more.” That’s for sure. Good luck with that, Gare.

TELL US – DO YOU AGREE THAT MADISON NEEDED TO TELL GARY ABOUT THE KISS WITH ALEX? DO YOU THINK COLIN AND DAISY WILL WORK THINGS OUT? OR DO YOU THINK GARY WILL GET IN THE WAY?

About below deck sailing yacht.

Capt. Glenn and his comeback team Daisy Kelliher, Gary King and Colin MacRae resume their responsibilities aboard Parsifal III, along with new, dynamic crew members, as they set sail in Sardinia, Italy.

Capt. Glenn realizes that his laid-back leadership style has allowed his crew to become too comfortable and starts taking charge of quality control in the interior department, much to Daisy's dismay. In the galley, Chef Ilesha's cooking impresses the guests, but her indecisiveness and co-dependency lead to time-management issues between courses, which causes her to self-destruct. On deck, strong personalities collide, and a power struggle results in a near mutiny, as Gary clashes with his new overconfident deckhand, Chase.

Two overlapping love triangles further complicate the dynamics on-board, and a shocking hookup puts Colin, Daisy and Gary’s friendship in jeopardy.

With a near collision, fire, crew rebellion, gruesome guest injury and two different potentially season-ending engine failures, this is the most captivating and unpredictable season yet of Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

‘Below Deck Sailing Yacht’ Season 4 Reunion Revelations: Where Each Boatmance Stands Post-Filming

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4 Reunion Revelations Where Each Boatmance Stands Post-Filming 273

Drama from season 4 of Below Deck Sailing Yacht did not remain on board — and the cast had plenty of issues to address during the reunion.

The Bravo special, which aired its first part on Monday, July 17, centered around the challenges that Captain Glenn , Gary King and Daisy Kelliher faced during the latest charter season. A noticeable change from the season 4 finale to the reunion was the distance between Daisy and Colin MacRae .

The former couple, who started a relationship during their time on Parsifal III, did not appear to be on good terms. Daisy hinted at a falling out between her and Colin before they virtually crossed paths after filming season 4.

“I am going to leave it to the reunion. I feel like he [has the most to answer for at the reunion]. I have a lot of love for Colin, but things are complicated,” she explained on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in June when a fan asked why she unfollowed Colin on social media. “I don’t need complication on my social media.”

Before new episodes started to air in April, Daisy also discussed Gary and Colin’s overlapping interest in her. “I definitely feel like [Gary] was jealous. I think the boys — at times it did feel like I was a trophy prize [for them]. I could be completely wrong but [the way they acted felt a] bit like an ego thing going on between the two of them,” she exclusively told Us Weekly that same month. “And I was like, ‘OK, I don’t really want to be involved in this.'”

Part 2 of the season 4 Below Deck Sailing Yacht reunion will air on Bravo at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 18.

'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' Season 4 Reunion Revelations: Where Each Boatmance Stands Post-Filming

[sendtonews type="float" key="MJ5t4GJE98-2827103-14453"] "I am going to leave it to the reunion. I feel like he [has the most to answer for at the reunion]. I have a lot of love for Colin, but things are complicated," she explained on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen in June when a fan asked why she unfollowed Colin on social media. "I don't need complication on my social media." Before new episodes started to air in April, Daisy also discussed Gary and Colin's overlapping interest in her. "I definitely feel like [Gary] was jealous. I think the boys — at times it did feel like I was a trophy prize [for them]. I could be completely wrong but [the way they acted felt a] bit like an ego thing going on between the two of them," she exclusively told Us Weekly that same month. "And I was like, 'OK, I don't really want to be involved in this.'" Part 2 of the season 4 Below Deck Sailing Yacht reunion will air on Bravo at 9 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 18. The Distance Between Daisy and Gary

During the second part of the reunion, Daisy accused Colin of affecting her friendship with Gary. "You made me feel so guilty about Gary. I eventually stopped talking to him and stopped being friends with him," she shared after crying on screen.

Colin and Gary later noted that they wanted to work on their friendship — but neither seemed to have high hopes about their individual relationships with Daisy.

The Truth Behind Daisy and Colin's Connection

According to Daisy and Colin, they originally hooked up before filming season 4. The chief stew, however, accused Colin of being with another woman as well, which he didn't originally disclose. Daisy also claimed Colin told her several times that he wanted to be with her between seasons 2 and 3 — while he was in a serious relationship.

The engineer, for his part, blew off the "irrelevant" comments about their timeline, adding, "This is what nobody knows in the audience. This is why the relationship turned toxic because you can't reason with this woman. I have realized that and I ended things with her."

A-List 'Below Deck Sailing Yacht' Fans

After Andy Cohen asked whether any celebrities reached out to the season 4 cast, Daisy recalled getting messages from several Hollywood stars.

"I have had a few celebrities reach out to me. I am not going to name drop. But Christina Applegate had reached out to me after I had seen her — she had a nice conversation with Captain Lee," the chief stew shared. "She's a huge fan of the show so it was really exciting. And obviously Chrissy [Teigen] ."

Mads and Alex's New Normal

Mads and Alex confirmed that they have stayed close after sharing a kiss during their last charter. The pair went on to say that a romance didn't seem to be in the cards amid the deckhand's complicated love life.

Daisy vs. Gary's Management Styles

During the first part of the reunion, Daisy put Gary on blast when she questioned his work ethic.

"I think Glenn acknowledges and is aware of how much I do. But possibly he sometimes isn't aware of what Gary doesn't do. Let's put it that way," Daisy quipped. "Gary could probably manage better. He could probably lead better. This isn't about me, this is about Gary."

In response, Glenn noted that Daisy had a "good point" that he didn't know everything about what happens behind the scenes. Gary, for his part, said he stood by the hard work he put into season 4.

Chase and Ileisha's Relationship Status

"After the show finished filming, I went home and ended things with my boyfriend. Chase [Lemacks] and I were just there for each other and he supported me through a lot of hard times," Ileisha Dell , who had a flirty relationship with Chase , revealed at the reunion. "We kind of went back and forth. He came to Australia and I have been to America a couple of times. I even went to Charleston."

The deckhand, meanwhile, admitted that his connection with Ileisha had a major factor working against them.

"The reality of it is that Ileisha is one of the most amazing women I have ever met but we live on the opposite ends of the world," he added. "Australia and Charleston couldn't be farther from each other. There's nothing but love there."

Below Deck Recap: Charter Guest Soul Mate [Episode 4]

Screen Shot 2014-09-03 at 10.04.22 AM

Ahoy, Landlubbers! Well, it took the whole first five minutes of the episode to find out that a) Andrew got his full tip b) everyone hates him and c) Captain Lee finally pulls the plug on the tub and lets Andrew go down the drain. The disdain is palpable as they say “Goodbye,” to Andrew .

Screen Shot 2014-09-03 at 10.03.27 AM

But here’s the twist: Of all people, it was Ben that walked him off and said the final goodbye. “Take care, sincerely. You’re a good guy,” and HUGS him! Oy! Just when a man calls another man a “f’ing Muppet,” he turns around and gets all mushy inside. Not to worry about Andrew Phillip Sturby , though – he’s got his “Sammy” so he’ll be fine. “Sammy?” Did he mean chamois cloth? Can’t tell because it looked like a piece of baby blankie. Ah, well, “parting is such sweet sorrow…” and all that other stuff Shakespeare wrote.

Below Deck

Captain Lee , being the moron that he is, decides to let everyone off the boat to blow off steam. Yeah, that’s a good idea. He should know by now that the best thing to do is permanently keep that tub on lock down!  The crew goes off on a Catamaran to get to another beach, and it gives Kelley  and Jennice some quality time to discuss really important world issues like Jennice’s boyfriend and Kelley’s girlfriend. Jennice is torn between ripping off Kelley’s shorts and shagging him like a rug, and doing the right thing. Amour, amour!

wap-below-deck-season-2-kelley-and-jennice-just-friends

Quickest break ever because everyone’s back on the Ohana and cleaning, yet again. Captain Lee informs Ben and Kate about the new guests. From the picture, the primary guest appears pretty sleazy. He’s also bringing aboard more people than there are beds, so of course, Kate decides he’s her soul mate.

Kate and her posse leave the boat to steal flowers from residents’ yards. Of course. Why pay for flowers?

The guests board and everyone notices they look different – kind of like high-rent call girls. The lady guests decide that Kelley is hot of course – I mean, they do have eyes. Before they even leave port, though, the primary guest is already complaining that they haven’t left yet, even though push off time is one o’clock. Soul Mate or In Mate?

Jost Van Dyke Island – don’t ask me – I’m Dutch, but the only thing I can pronounce is my own name – and the way to get there seems to a water slide. It’s takes five hours to get put the dang thing together. One of the guests requests Kelley go down the slide. He radios Captain Lee to relay the request, which should be Captain Lee’s cue to say “No, you’re needed on board,” but he throws him to the she-wolves.

Kate thinks these guests are wonderful but she’ll soon regret that compliment because behind her back, they’re all commenting on her sterling personality which consists of the perm-a-pout. They’ve concluded Kate must hate them. Good going, Kate !

Below Deck

Dinner time and Kat is bitching about how much work it is to serve all these people. Looks like there’s a whole nine or ten people so Jennice is commanded to help out. Meanwhile, Mr. Primary Guest comes down to complain is taking way too long to make dinner. Ben basically says they can go “f” themselves because he’s an artiste.” Though, he does come up with the idea of baking a casserole for tomorrow night’s dinner. Or maybe Hot Pockets. This would solve the two-hour delay in getting dinner on the table and one of the plates arrived with plastic on it. The crew promptly decides that the guest planted it and Ben decides to defend himself. He goes above deck and he points out that the plastic obviously came from the guests’ own bottle of Boone’s Farm.

After dinner, Mr. Primary Guest decides to reiterate his 8:30 PM sharp dinner time. The next morning, Ben gets up at 5 AM to make sure he’s not late for breakfast. While he’s working, it appears that Kelley and Amy are hiding someplace talking about Jennice. They both like her, and they both appear to forget that Kelley has a girlfriend. Whaddup with dat? Meanwhile, back to Ben and since the guests wanted breakfast between 9 and 10:30, they start complaining he’s late for his own breakfast. As waves are crashing the boat, Ben has problems keeping his poached eggs stable. He figures his job in par with an EMT in terms of stress level.

The guests’ engage in Kate bashing while Kate is busting her little butt making a scavenger hunt for them. They request her presence upstairs and tell Kate he’s “bitchy.” So much for soul mates. Amour, amour.

Below Deck

During the interstitial, Eddie Googles one of the guests and figures out she looks like a porn star. Gee, if only he had done that much hard work on vetting Andrew Philip .

During the commercial – yes! It’s Idris Elba! – I’ve gotta wonder if Kate is cancelling her scavenger hunt because if it was me, her tea-stained paper would be flushed down the john.

Back to the show, and YES! Kate cancels her scavenger hunt! She’s pissed! She decides to make them a shot called a “Happy Stew” which I’m sure at this point includes some loogies! While the guests are drinking, Kate goes below to make the perfect blanket fold for Mr. Primary Guest. It’s not in the shape of an anchor. It’s, well, let’s just say it looks like a part of the male anatomy.

Perfect time to end the show and, no, I’m not going to tell you what the preview of next week’s show told me about the towel art! You’ll just have to come back and read it here, mateys!

20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now

Big brother 26: week 7 nominations made by hoh (spoilers), big brother 26 week 7 power of veto results (spoilers).

Captain Glenn Shephard from Below Deck Sailing Yacht hasn’t addressed the backlash surrounding Gary King’s sexual misconduct allegations. The reality yachting show debuted its first season in 2020, utilizing the classic format of the mainstay series that spotlights the lives of the crew working on luxurious sailing yachts. Gary and Daisy Kelliher joined the cast during BDSY season 2 and remained fixtures of the spin-off. As the First Officer, Gary was known as a womanizer in the series. Each charter season, he hooked up with multiple women and never settled down .

During last season, it was shockingly revealed that Gary and Daisy had hooked up in the past. When the Chief Stew began a boatmance with Colin Macrae, Gary got jealous and tried to derail their budding boatmance, with Gary's behavior being referred to as problematic and creepy by fans. However, the fate of the show was put into question when Gary was accused of sexual misconduct by a former makeup artist who worked on the series. Despite the allegations, he seemingly will appear in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 , though Captain Glenn hasn’t spoken up about the situation.

Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.

Captain Glenn Has Been Busy Traveling

He’s been traveling with his partner lately.

After BDSY season 4, Captain Glenn began traveling with his girlfriend. Instead of worrying about addressing the allegations against Gary, the captain was busy living his life. However, Captain Glenn and Gary notably formed a close relationship on the show. He admitted during the reunion for the fourth season that he “ subconsciously ” favors the First Officer over the crew in the interior department, so it’s not surprising that he hasn’t spoken out against him.

Captain Glenn Hasn't Commented On Gary King's Return To Below Deck Sailing Yacht

No one has said much about gary’s potential return in season 5.

While the captain seemingly still supports Gary, he hasn’t released any official comments about his future on the show. He rumoredly was filming for BDSY season 5 when the allegations broke, and some speculated he may have stayed on the crew despite the scathing news. It would be good to hear from Captain Glenn regarding the situation, though the network will likely be the first entity to release any official information regarding Gary and the sexual misconduct allegations. Bravo did respond to the claims in the 2023 Rolling Stone article , though that may be their only time addressing the situation.

Captain Glenn Still Supports Gary

They seem to still be close friends.

In the wake of the allegations against Gary , the captain showed his support with a comment on his Instagram account. He posted a picture of himself in “ a sea of daises ” in November 2023 addressing the accusations, writing that “ It’s sad that people will do anything in their power to bring you down ” while using multiple hashtags, including, “ #iwascancelledbecauseofalie .” Captain Glenn commented with a thumbs-up emoji that has seemingly been deleted but was reported by Us Weekly . The captain has been vocal in his support of Gary before and after the allegations.

Roughly one year since Gary’s alleged sexual misconduct was revealed, the captain hasn’t responded to the claims. Captain Glenn has always had a good relationship with the First Officer and has shown him support over the years. The show's future is unclear, though Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 is on its way soon.

I lived ‘below deck’ on a luxury yacht — here’s what you need to know.

Tahiti, St. Thomas and the French Riviera — I’ve yachted in all of these exotic locales, albeit from the comfort of my couch. And, millions of Americans are in the same boat.

In 2013, “Below Deck,” introduced the masses to the most glamorous mode of traveling: yachting. Since then, it’s become a Bravo mainstay with Season 9 of “Below Deck Mediterranean’’ premiering in June.

But how real is the reality show? I spent five nights on a yacht in Croatia to find out.

A woman in a bikini standing on the deck of the 'Adriatic Escape' boat, ready to experience reality TV drama on the high seas in Maldives.

A tip on tipping

My suitcase wasn’t bursting with Benjamins. An agency at your final destination provides cash for the crew’s tip money. While you’re expected to tip $30,000 for a two-night cruise on “Below Deck,” in real life you only have to tip 10% to 15% of your charter fee. That’s about $10,000 for a two-night cruise on a 180-foot charter yacht like Mustique (from $250,000 a week), which stars in the new season.

According to Zvonimir Androić, president of the yacht charter company Via Croatia, more often than not, the tip comes from what’s left over after provisioning.

So, shun the Dom Pérignon and skip the beluga caviar, and you’ll have money to spare.

What’s up, dock?

A luxury yacht, named Adriatic Escape, docked at Split Marina with a weekly rental price of US$52,800

In real life, “Below Deck’s” favorite commercial-break cliff-hanger isn’t nearly as dramatic. Docking in our yacht, Via Croatia’s five-cabin, 100-foot Adriatic Escape (from $52,800 a week), was breezy.

I asked the crew if they hated setting up the slide — a tortuous, Herculean task if you believe what you see on TV.

“It’s not that bad,” a twentysomething Croatian deckhand, as cute as his on-screen counterparts, told me. “That said, we’re definitely not sad if you don’t ask for it.”

Play it cool

Barbie Pascual arranging a table on the set of Below Deck Season 11.

Despite being served meat on more than one occasion, my vegetarian co-guests on board weren’t divas when it came to cuisine — a major source of chef-related stress on the show.

Tantrums aren’t the norm Barbie Pascual, the “Below Deck” stewardess famous for putting up with former “RHONY” star Jill Zarin’s demands for the perfect Diet Coke in the “Real Housewives of Grenada” episode, tells me. “Guests know they are being filmed so their reactions are more extreme than they’d be if the cameras weren’t around,” she says.

Pascual’s biggest tip for first-time yachters? Don’t go skinny dipping, like they do on the show, after dark.

“People forget about currents, sharks, etc.,” she says. “Jumping in the water should always be with the captain’s consent!”

Our humorless Croatian yacht captain was a far cry from “Below Deck Mediterranean’s” affable Captain Sandy Yawn. I think we only saw him twice over the course of four days, and he definitely didn’t join us for dinner.

That was fine by us because the stews and deckhands were always handy with anything we needed — including at chat.

Asking for it

A group of people on the Adriatic Escape boat, available for weekly rent at $52,800

“No” is a word you’ll never hear on a yacht, unless there is a safety issue, Pascual says.

While we didn’t ask our crew to do a striptease or decorate for ‘70s night (two recurring requests on the show), out-there demands aren’t out of the question, as long as you’re willing to pay for it.

For example, Via Croatia is currently retrofitting one of its multimillion-dollar superyachts for an upcoming charter booked by a multigenerational Jewish family from Florida.

“In addition to paying the charter fee, the client is literally buying everything new: pots, pans, silverware, et cetera,” said Androić. “They’re even spending $30,000 on a new tender for the elderly mother-in-law.”

Now, I’m no reality show producer, but a picky primary trying to keep his wife, her elderly mom and their kosher kids happy at sea has the makings of an Emmy Award-winning episode.

Yachting on a budget

Agape Rose, an ultra luxury mini cruiser yacht with various amenities, sailing on Croatia's Adriatic coast.

Charters are cheapest at the beginning and end of a destination’s season. Via Croatia’s yuppiest yacht, the 160-foot, 12-cabin Agape Rose , fetches $200,000 a week in July and August. But it’s just $164,000 a week in April and October. Divide that by 24 of your closest friends and family and it’s just $6,800 a person.

If that’s still too much, consider booking a yacht club suite on one of MSC Cruises ’ Mediterranean voyages.

Sure, you’ll be on a cruise liner, but for $1,659 a person you’ll be treated to seven nights of private butler service with a private pool and restaurant that the pleb passengers don’t even know exists.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4 Episode 12 Recap: Small ‘D’ Energy

When last we left Below Deck Sailing Yacht , Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher had just revealed to Engineer Colin MacRae that she and First Mate Gary King had slept together .

Colin had said, “My heart’s telling me, live in the moment and enjoy what you and Daisy have, but my brain’s telling me, just stay out of it. It’s got trouble written all over it.” And he was still upset that Gary had lied to him.

“The last thing I want,” Daisy admitted to Colin, “is anyone to be hurt or friendships to be affected.”

“You don’t often hear Daisy say sorry or admit that she’s done something wrong,” Colin interviewed. “So I know Daisy cares about me because she feels remorse. It’s just a hard pill to swallow. I have true feelings involved.”

To Daisy, Colin said, “I’ll be fine.” And they parted with a hug and a smile.

Alex and Mads admire fish on the night shift

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

Deckhand Alex Propson was on the night shift again. Rather than doing his job, he was hanging out with Junior Stew Madison “Mads” Herrera , looking at fish in the water next to the boat.

“See these big fish?” he told Mads. “They’re trying to eat this school of fish. See all the little ones swimming?”

“Wow!” she said. “You have a whole aquarium show.”

Alex admitted he was “nerd[ing] out on this stuff.”

“Don’t get me wrong,” he told production, “I love working, but I would rather hang out with Mads. I consider this work-life balance.”

“I might get in there with a snorkel,” he told Mads. “Anchor’s not going anywhere.” Um, I wouldn’t recommend it, Alex. Didn’t Captain Lee throw a guest off his boat for going swimming at night ? It’s not safe.

Chase throws Alex under the bus boat

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

At the end of his shift, Alex declared everything “done” and headed off to bed. When Captain Glenn Shephard got up, he made a quick inspection of the boat and decided everything was, in fact, not done.

“Can you do the scuppers forward on the flybridge, right in front of the wheel?” Glenn asked the other deckhand Chase Lemacks . “Should’ve been done last night. I don’t know why it wasn’t.” Because Alex spent more time looking at fish with Mads than doing his job, that’s why.

Getting dressed for the day, Gary commented, “I’ve never lost a friendship over a woman before. If [Colin’s] willing to throw our friendship away over this, then clearly I don’t mean that much to him.”

Meanwhile, Chase made a quick survey of the deck area and declared it, “Filthy.”

“Gary,” Chase called when the First Mate appeared on deck. “Come and take a look at something. Look under this table. That’s how the whole boat looked.”

“It wouldn’t bother me,” Chase added. “It’s just that Glenn comes to me, and he’s like, ‘The scuppers should be done by now.'”

Even though Alex said the guests didn’t go to bed until 2:30, he still should have had time to do the necessary cleaning after they went below. “It wouldn’t take longer than an hour and a half to give a thorough rinse to this boat,” Gary said.

“If I only had a few hours to clean,” Chase interviewed, “I’d focus on the obvious sh*t, like picking up crumbs of food off of the floor. I’m a little pissed off, because at this point in the season, Alex should know better. Gary should have told him what to prioritize by now.” I see another conversation with the First Mate in Alex’s future.

Colin and Daisy are friends again

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

Daisy went into the engine room to say good morning to Colin. “Thanks for checking on me [last night],” he told her. “It’s a big thing. We’re moving in the right direction.” At least he was smiling again, as he gave her a big hug.

As Daisy was serving their last breakfast to the guests, one of the men asked, “Can we just charter for one more day?”

“I would love for you guys to stay,” Daisy lied, ’cause you know she was looking forward to their night out. “It is [Junior Stew Lucy Edmunds’ ] university graduation, so we’re going to have a party for her tonight.”

Even though she passed her courses and was officially graduating, Lucy was a bit sad not to walk with her friends at the ceremony. “I might not be at my graduation, but that’s the life of yachting. I know I signed up for the job at the end of the day, so I can’t be upset.”

“I’m ready for tonight,” Lucy added. “I just want to have some shots and get drunk.” She’d better remember to put that safety shield up to keep her from falling out of her top bunk again!

“It’s your graduation!” Gary sang to Lucy, as he passed her in the hallway.

“Yep,” Lucy responded. “And I’m here washing dishes. Whatever, I’m okay.”

Goodbye to the guests

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

After docking the boat once more, everyone gathered to say goodbye to the guests. Overall, this was a nice charter with pleasant guests.

“It was amazing,” the primary guest told them. “And from the bottom of my heart, I just want to thank each and every one of you. [Chef Ileisha Dell ], with you taking the time to make the Johnny cakes, it brought me back to my beloved Grandma Flo, who I know is in Heaven, just smiling down. Thank you, everyone!”

“And as a small token of our appreciation,” she added, handing a fat envelope to Captain Glenn. “Best yachting crew ever!”

Chase and Alex butt heads over the cleaning

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

As the crew returned to work, Alex joked with Gary, “Tell me how great I am!”

But Gary had bad news for Alex. “Chase was not happy this morning,” Gary told him.

“Were you upset with the boat this morning?” Alex asked Chase when he joined them on deck.

“It wasn’t the best,” Chase responded.

In a production interview, Chase complained, “F*ck me, man. I didn’t expect Gary to run to Alex and be like, ‘Hey, Chase said you suck.’ I mean, come on.” Chase, buddy, it’s Gary. This is exactly what he does. What did you expect?

“What part looked bad?” Alex asked.

“Food all over the sundeck floor,” he said. “[But] like I told Gary, you had like three hours max [since the guests stayed up late and got up early]. I said it’s not like I could be really upset with you.”

“Suck it up, buttercup,” Gary added.

Again, in an interview, Chase said, “It’s pissing me off that Gary’s making me look like a tattle-tailing bitch.” But isn’t that pretty much what you did, Chase? Just suck it up and tell him the captain called you out.

“It’s not like me being mad,” Chase explained. “It’s just prioritization of, like, where they’re gonna get up and sit [for breakfast] is spotless, you know what I mean? … just like advice.”

“Advice taken,” Alex grudgingly conceded. But he was still feeling resentful that Chase had ratted him out.

“I shouldn’t have to hear from Gary the way that Chase feels,” Alex complained in an interview. “Any time that I feel there’s a conflict, I tend to just talk to the person about it, and I would expect Chase and our head of department to do the same. But I think I’m just dealing with a lot of small dick energy.” Okay, then. Alex would rather blame his co-workers’ penis size than the fact that he was fish-watching with Mads instead of working. Good call, Alex.

Show me the money

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

“What a fun charter group that was,” Captain Glenn said when he gathered the crew for the tip meeting. “I thought the service was really good, so I just want to say kudos for that. Ileisha, that Caribbean dinner, they were raving about it. Well done.”

After encouraging everyone to keep their “foot [on the] pedal,” Glenn announced the tip was $20,000 US, breaking down to $1,957 euros each.

Later in the galley, Chase was waiting for Ileisha to finish up so she could go sit in the “cold tub” with him. Chase has a little crush on Cheffie.

“Chase is a sweetheart,” Ileisha interviewed. “He’s good-looking, he’s tall, he’s got a good body, but my boyfriend has all of those things as well. It’s always tough to do long distance, but, no, I’m pretty loyal.” Quickly correctly herself, she added, “‘Pretty?’ I mean, I am loyal.”

Daisy checked in with Gary. “How are you and Colin?”

“I don’t know,” Gary admitted. It seemed that Colin had been avoiding Gary since he found out that he and Daisy had slept together.

“I was thinking of having a chat with you both,” Daisy suggested.

“Oh really?” Gary asked in surprise. “No. We don’t need to do that. No, no, no, no. I think it’ll blow over.”

A grad party for Lucy

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

Since Lucy was feeling sad because she was missing her graduation ceremony, Daisy and the crew set up a party for her, and even had her family on Facetime to join in the celebration. They had a congratulatory sign, balloons and even a cap and gown for the junior stew.

“This is the nicest thing anyone’s ever done for me,” Lucy said. “I have my family there, my 91-year-old granddad and my gran. This is going to be so special to me, my whole life.”

“All right, I’m gonna get pissed [drunk],” she told her family. “Love you!” Time to head out for dinner.

Daisy tries to force a truce

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

When the cabs arrived, Daisy announced, “Me, Colin and Gary in one cab. Everybody else in another.” Guess she’s going ahead with that chat after all.

When they were secluded inside the cab, boys in the back, Daisy in front, she said, “I thought it might be nice to spend some time together, and I just think we’ve kind of lost a bit of focus as we’re in this together and just want to remind us that we’re…”

“We’re a team,” Gary finished, even though he and Colin were avoiding making eye contact. “How do you feel, Colin?”

“This is a massive stitch-up,” Colin answered.

“I wanted time with my f*cking boys in the f*cking car,” Daisy told them, “and this was my time to do it.”

“I don’t think the crew night out is the right time,” Colin sang.

“I’m done,” Gary said.

In an interview, he added, “This van ride is awkward! Honestly, I don’t like having conflict with anyone, I’m not good with confrontation.”

Gary and Colin finally talk one-on-one

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

Finally, at dinner, Gary told Colin, “Let’s go for a cigarette, you and I. Colin, you and I need to chat.”

“Oh, here we go,” Colin muttered.

“Okay, Colin, I’m gonna be honest with you,” Gary began. “I’m sorry I lied to you … but it was a catch-22 for me.”

“You’re a pussy,” Colin snapped back. “You should have f*cking just said the truth.”

But he’d made a promise to Daisy to keep it a secret, he reminded Colin.

“You should have said to Daisy,” Colin continued, “Hey, seeing that you and Colin are now hooking up…”

“Hindsight is a beautiful thing,” Gary went on. “I do realize that, and I’m sorry I lied to you in your face.”

“I would never have done that to you,” Colin said. “And that’s why I got hurt by our friendship.”

“I understand that,” Gary admitted. “Do I feel like a puss for lying to you? Yes. Is there anything happening between us? No. That’s the bottom line.”

“He hasn’t really respected mine and Daisy’s relationship,” Colin interviewed, “and it’s unfortunate. But I have to take everything he says with a pinch of salt. And I don’t know what to believe.”

“Listen, I’ve been a dick for the majority of my life,” Gary told Colin. “If I can keep one person’s promise, then let me show them that I can keep a promise. And then I lied to another friend about it … It was a lose-lose situation for me.”

Seeing that Colin and Gary were finally talking to each other, Daisy was relieved. “I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders,” she told production. “I am so relieved Gary and Colin are speaking to each other and … just move forward.”

Another drunken night in paradise

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

When they returned to the Parsifal III, Gary and Lucy decided to take off their clothes and jump into the water next to the boat. “Sorry, Mum and Dad,” Lucy told production.

Now that things had been talked out, Colin and Daisy were back in his bunk, making out. Yay! I’m glad they’re still together. I’m stanning this relationship so hard.

Gary pissed off Mads by calling her “pathetic” when she ignored him because she was talking to her family on the phone.

Alex was once again incoherently inebriated. You want to sleep with that, Mads? He can’t even hold his head up, let alone try to have sex with someone. Ugh. So not attractive.

Chase was frustrated because try as he might, Ileisha has him firmly in the friend zone. Dude, she has a boyfriend and she isn’t going to cheat on him with you. You’re not that special. Give it a rest.

At 3:00 am, Daisy woke out of a sound sleep and thought Colin was Gary. “Gary, stop. Why are you in my bed?” she asked him. “It’s f*cked up.”

This did not go over well with Colin. “I’ve never, ever been mistaken for someone else in bed,” he complained. Oh, my God!”

“I’m not gonna lie,” Daisy told Colin. “I kept seeing Gary’s face.” Uh oh. That’s not good. Is she drunk? Is she still asleep?

“It’s a blow to the ego,” Colin interviewed. “I mean, maybe she’s actually thinking about him when we’re fooling around. I don’t know.”

“Bye,” Colin told the chief stew. And with that, Daisy returned to her own bunk in the girls’ cabin.

The morning after the night before

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

The next morning, Chase informed Gary that he called Mads “pathetic” the night before. Gary had absolutely no memory of having done that. He admitted to Mads that he didn’t remember anything about it and apologized to her, but she refused to accept his apology.

In the laundry room, Gary asked Daisy, “Did you and Colin hook up last night?” Dude, is that really any of your business? Why would you even ask that?

“We kissed,” Daisy admitted.

“Just a kiss?” Gary confirmed. “Just wondering.” Don’t wonder, Gary. If you want to be friends with Colin, just stay out of their business.

Running into Colin in the crew mess, Daisy told him, “When you have time, can I show you stuff in the guest area, please?”

“I’m not talking to you anymore,” Colin told her.

“Why are you not talking to me?” Daisy asked, shocked. Apparently, she didn’t remember mistaking him for Gary the night before. So she was either drunk or talking in her sleep. Oh, the drama!

Finally, Colin admitted, “I’m pissed off at you.”

“Why? What did I do?” Daisy asked.

“What you said last night in bed,” he told her.

“Oh, yeah,” Daisy remembered. “I thought you were Gary because the two of you were in my head. You’re both f*cking with my head.”

“This is unbelievable that you’re giving me this attitude, after saying something like that in bed with me,” Colin said, as Daisy tried to playfully wrestle with him. “Are you crazy?”

“I’m not thinking about [Gary],” Daisy explained. “I was like, where the f*ck am I? I didn’t know where I was.”

“You’re blaming literally everyone and everything else for what comes out of your mouth,” Colin accused her. “You need to take accountability.” That’s a little harsh, Colin. She was sound asleep and woke up confused about where she was and with whom.

Chase and Alex have a heart-to-heart

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

“I want to talk to you about something actually,” Chase told Alex, while they were working on deck. “I want you to know that there’s been two days where, like, I gave feedback about, like, the night thing. The first time it happened, I asked Gary, ‘Can I just talk to Alex on my own?’ … And Gary was like, no, I want to have that conversation.”

Chase was concerned that Gary was making it look like he was trying to be a tattletale and get Alex in trouble. “Going forward,” Chase said, “I’m going to try to include him as little as possible.”

“It might be better if we cut out the middleman,” Alex said.

Alex interviewed, “We don’t need Gary. The only reason there’s tension between me and Chase is because Gary is mucking up the communication chain.” From now on, they would just talk directly to each other and leave Gary out of the loop.

Colin wants Daisy to choose

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

“Colin, I’m sorry,” Daisy told the chief engineer.

“You’ve got to figure some stuff out,” he told her.

“I don’t,” she insisted. “It was all Gary f*cking this.”

“Don’t blame Gary,” Colin told her. “What I want is for you to figure out what you want.”

“I want you,” she told him. “I thought I made that very clear.”

“If you want someone,” Colin continued, “you’re not thinking about other people.”

Daisy explained that she was not thinking about Gary, but thinking about her two friends and the mess she was involved in. “If you want me and I want you,” she told Colin, “that’s the end of it.” And he agreed.

Charter #7 guests arrive

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

While waiting for the new charter guests to arrive, Glenn gave his crew a quick pep talk about pushing through the rest of the season. “So we’re coming into the home stretch,” he told them. “So let’s stay positive.”

The new guests arrived and everyone was greeted with the customary glass of champagne. When Daisy presented a tray of oysters with gin, jalapeño and lime to the only male guest, he told her, “Oh, my God. I thought I loved you. And now I’m just, like, marrying you.” Cute.

As the guests were settling in with their drinks and marveling at the scenery, the anchor was dropped and the engines turned off. But shortly afterward, Gary noticed that the anchor seemed to be dragging, and they were drifting perilously close to another boat nearby.

As the deck crew readied fenders and the guests wondered if they were going to start their vacation with a crash, the dreaded words appeared on the TV screen:

“TO BE CONTINUED … “

TELL US – DO YOU THINK DAISY AND COLIN WILL WORK OUT THEIR ISSUES? OR DO YOU THINK THEY’LL BREAK UP AND DAISY WILL END UP WITH GARY?

Below Deck Mediterranean Recap: Toilet Kisses

Below deck mediterranean.

below deck sailing yacht season 4 episode 2 recap

After a season-highlight episode last week , I came into this one with more enthusiasm. Unfortunately, that enthusiasm has been dampened almost as much as the leaky crew cabin. The first half of the episode is largely devoted to the Ellie-Joe-Bri mess, which doesn’t feel fun anymore (or was it ever fun?). I’m protective of the girls and disappointed in them simultaneously. I fully condemn all online harassment of cast members, but it sure is tempting to throw a “GET A JOB. STAY AWAY FROM HER.” into Joe’s comments.

Joe starts off well enough, as he’s honest with Ellie. He tells her he actually doesn’t want to go on the date he said yes to hours earlier. He doesn’t want anything serious and says he’s not ready for dating. She also doesn’t want anything serious and takes the rejection better than expected. Joe asks, “You don’t hate me?” What a cringey question from an adult man, telling on himself for being more concerned about how he comes off than about her feelings. Ellie uses email sign-off speak to convey her dislike: “No worries, thank you so much.” Gossip travels fast around the crew cabins: Gael hears Joe tell Nathan what happened, so she goes to check on Ellie. We love Gael!

For the crew night out, Ellie overdresses as usual, this time in a beaded pearl two-piece crop-top set that makes me think she’d be more at home on a Selling Sunset spinoff. At dinner, she and Joe sit next to each other — I need a slo-mo play-by-play with commentary on how this happened. Instead of making an excuse and switching seats, Joe erases any work he did to stop stringing Ellie along. It’s like she’s a cat, and he’s rolling out the charm ball of yarn, offering her a sip of his drink. She says no but starts to warm back up to him when he explains he got overwhelmed because he’s never been asked on a date before. We learn that Joe has only been in one relationship, and it ended in 2017. He tells us that he wants to marry the next person he dates. This logic makes no sense. Does he not realize you have to date people in order to find out if you want to marry them? If anyone’s taking a date too seriously, it’s him. He asks Ellie if she wants children. My jaw is on the floor at the gall of this man.

This group is not lacking in unaware men, as Iain talks to Aesha about how well he thinks the season’s going. He had no idea that Aesha’s had to think about firing people. For the moment, the stews are doing well enough to keep their jobs, but Aesha’s still frustrated she’s stuck picking up their slack more than she should. It seems like the stews may be turning a corner in their relationship as Bri tries to commiserate with Ellie about Joe at the bar. She heard about him going back on the date and is sorry. Ellie’s glad to clear the air, but she somehow turns the conversation into a critique of Bri being oversensitive. Bri maturely takes it, and Ellie later says it was the best part of her night. Little does she know, Joe and Bri had a moment in the bathroom. After dancing together, Joe followed Bri there, saying he hasn’t picked, as if these women are apples desperately waiting on a tree for him. She tells him to fuck off, but sadly doesn’t mean it, and he joins her in the stall. We hear kissing, and it sounds like Bri stops things from going further. I can’t help but think about the bathroom scene in the latest episode of Industry , which only highlights how grody this bathroom is in comparison. At least it has full floor-to-ceiling stall doors.

The next day, Bri tells Joe no more fucking around, and he seems to get it. They’ll stop flirting. Bri’s done, but she needs his help not to cross her boundaries. I don’t have much faith in this. Joe should look to Nathan, who has been patient with Gael and doesn’t think one date means marriage. She hasn’t had time to fully resolve the feelings from her breakup but agrees to go rock climbing. Once Nathan’s four feet off the ground, he realizes he’s afraid of heights. Gael must really like him because she doesn’t get the ick and supportively talks him through rappelling down. They kiss when they return to the boat and later cuddle on a break.

The morning of the next charter, there’s a Mediterranean hurricane-esque storm, a.k.a. a Medicane, rolling in. The unused crew cabin is leaking again, and they realize there’s a leak in the bosun’s locker above it. The engineers find that the issue is a hose that wasn’t plugged. Now that they fixed it, the cabin should be usable again. The prospect of a fourth stew is exciting; we could use some new energy. Whether it’ll be a fourth stew or a replacement for Bri, whose laundry room is still too messy for Sandy’s standards, only time will tell.

Our new primary is Pamela Duke, the Florida-based owner of a “nautical-themed jewelry line.” A little research reveals it’s called Nau-T-Girl Jewelry and has a Captain Sandy collection , so I’m guessing they’ll get along. Pamela and her guests arrive with buckets of positive energy but are completely deflated when Sandy tells them they’ll be stuck on the dock for the first day because of Medicane Daniel. To make up for it, Jono goes all out with appetizers and makes sushi for lunch. He does a prawn-roll special for Jennifer because she doesn’t eat raw fish. I held my breath this whole scene, remembering the preview where someone allergic gets served fish. I’m not sure if it’s her, and I’m trying to track which plate is which like it’s a shell game. I’ll be on edge for Jono until they’re safely off the boat. I still don’t have much faith in his cooking skills, but he’s really grown on me as a personality. He may not excel at one thing, but he’s a man of many talents and interests. Jono cooks, twerks, sleeps, architects, and even, as we learn this week, does show-horse jumping. Well, he did as a kid, and he claims to use that discipline now. Personally, I prefer chefs who don’t associate making food with horses.

Aesha organizes an indoor wine-tasting excursion, but the rain is coming down fast. Sandy sees there’ll supposedly be 30 inches of rain, which is absolutely insane. A quick Google says Athens receives an average of 14 inches per year ! As the vans take Aesha, Nathan, and the guests toward the winery, the streets look like they’re flooding. The guests decide to turn around and stay on the ship, which seems like a safe choice. I’m surprised Sandy didn’t call them back first.

On the boat, alarms are going off, and I have to pause the TV twice to make sure I’m not hearing an alarm in my building. Am I paranoid, or do I just have bad spatial hearing? Probably both. Sandy thinks the boat is leaking again, so Iain returns to the leaky crew cabin. So much for getting a fourth stew. The last shot we see is him, swearing, crawling into the dripping ceiling. I imagine it’s a Coraline -type portal, and Iain’s off to a parallel world where he’s Sandy’s favorite. Will we ever see him again?
