Steps from the ferry landing in Dunmore Town, this award-winning resort has special appeal for families, especially those who love water sports, because it has its own marina and dive shop. The junior villas, villas, and town homes sleep from four to six. Fully furnished with kitchens or kitchenettes, they feature modern appliances, balconies or patios, and stylish appointments.

The accommodations live in four Bahamian-style clapboard buildings clustered around the swimming pools and surrounded by lovely gardens. Two onsite restaurants and a coffee house feed family appetites, plus Dunmore Town’s slew of restaurants lies within an easy walk. The beach is about 10 minutes away by foot.

To celebrate my friend's birthday, I and a group on 9 friends decided to make a visit to Harbour Island and ended up spending most of our time with the great folks at Valentines Resort. After docking, we ended up at Rooster Tail for lunch; the wait staff were attentive and made our time lively and enjoyable with music and laughter. Rolando makes the best mudslides!

I'm a big fan of coffee and came back today (Sunday) to visit COCOA Coffee House; which was unfortunately closed. We ran into Dean (part-owner of the resort) who listened to our concerns and quickly resolved it by personally providing us with coffee and great conversation. Our time at Valentines was well spent and we'll be back! Many thanks to Dean, Barbara, and the staff at Valentines for a great time. Highly recommend!

We only ate at The Rooster Tail Bar and Grill, very typical yacht club snack bar type food, although it was pretty good for burgers, etc. The staff was very nice but clearly more interested in taking care of the people who had boats at Valentine's marina and people staying/living at the resort. There were lots of very wealthy people here who did not mind being loud, rude, pushy and demanding to the staff so if this kind of behaviour bothers you, stay away from this place. The website talks of the clientele as being a" jet set crowd of island hoppers" and they all were. There were locals at the bar the one night, we went late for drinks, but they were clearly kissing up to the wealthy and their families. We met so many wonderful and down to earth people on Harbour Island who were also wealthy jet setters, very friendly and approachable...not at all like this group. Watching the arrogance the night we went to the bar was down right uncomfortable. Again, lots of rich people on this island, but saw very few of the nice ones at Valentine's.
