The Schiffart Yachtcharter is a full-service yacht charter company in Terherne on the Sneekermeer. A great location at the heart of the Frisian lake region. Our family business contains a yacht wharf, yacht rental company, yacht marina and a water sports shop. We have built up a very varied fleet over the years, meaning there is a suitable boat for every type of water sports enthusiasts. This fleet includes; sturdy compact cabin motorboats ( Doerakken , Brûzers ), modern cruisers , boats with spacious open cabin , royal class cutter yachts , luxurious Super Lauwersmeers and spacious 2+2 yachts .

Ideally located charter harbour in Holland

Terherne is a fantastic boat departure point as a result of its central location in the Friesian waters, on the Sneekermeer and near Sneek.

No boating license required

You will not need a boating licence for our boats. It goes without saying everyone going out on our boats will be given a full technical explanation before departure.

A harbour with plenty of extras

The harbour boasts some excellent sanitary facilities, power and water at the jetties and parking spaces for tenants on our own private site, right next to the harbour.

Non-stop-service

Our yachts are all in top condition. However, should you experience any problems whilst you are on the water: no problem at all, our technical service staff will be with you in a flash!

Rent a motorboat for 2 to 8 people

2-4 persons.

For someone who is new to watersporting, the Doerak is an ideal motorboat for cruising in Friesland. But the Doerak is also a suitable motorboat for more experienced skippers. The boat is compact, but thanks to its form it is spacious inside. Each Doerak has a bow thruster, which means they are very easy to manoeuvre!

2-5 persons

The Brûzer is a robust motorboat with classic lines, which is easy to sail. With its unique form the boat offers a lot of space inside, while remaining compact. This means that this motorboat offers the possibility of many cruising routes and you can discover all of Friesland's waterways!

2-8 persons.

Experience a marvellous holiday on the water with a number of people. Our modern cruisers offer plenty of space, luxury and steering comfort. The perfect motorboat for 2-8 people. The Kruiser is a great boat for discovering Friesland in company!

When we talk about a 2+2 motoryacht we mean, two completely equal cabins. Namely, two bathrooms (with toilet and shower) and two spacious bedrooms, each with a generous double bed. These luxury yachts are particularly suitable for two couples.

Where can I cruise to with my motorboat?

Cruising on a motorboat is naturally not as fast as driving a car. This can sometimes make it difficult to judge distances. From our marina in Terherne via the Sneekermeer to Sneek takes approximately 1 hour. The cruising area that is permitted with our ships is: Friesland (Sailing is only permitted on the IJsselmeer for ships longer than 12 metres and equipped with an IJsselmeer package), Overijssel, Groningen and Drenthe.

Location description

From marina Lelystad Haven it goes in south-west direction to Amsterdam. Here we moor either in Six Haven or in Marina Amsterdam and spend 1 to 2 days in Amsterdam down to your‘ s whim.

Then we lock through Oranje Sluis and the North Sea Canal to IJmuiden. Here we spend the night in the Marina IJmuiden or lock the same or the next day with the accumulating water on to the North Sea island of Texel (50sm, approx. 5 h +, with accumulating water up to 3 knots faster!)

We spend the night in the Qudeschild marina in Texel. It is recommended to rent a bike and explore the island with its nice little places. The long sandy beach on the North Sea coast of the island is especially beautiful! Here in the marina Qudeschild you can spend a second night due to manifold amenities in the area. A special tip for nature lovers or families with children is a visit to the seals sanctuary in the Ecomare Nature Museum on Californiaweg near the North Sea coast halfway along the island.

With accumulating water we reach the lock Kornerderzand. Here we lock back into the IJsselmeer with the destination Hindeloopen or Stavoren.

From here you can set your course towards Enkhuizen the next day. Enkhuizen is an attractive and diverse shopping city. The cozy city center offers various small and large shops as well as a number of creative markets. With old-fashioned shops and modern boutiques as well as numerous cafes, shopping here makes fun.

Then we sail through the Markermeer back to Lelystad, past the artificially created group of islands of the Marker Wadden, a beautiful nature reserve.

The capital of the province of Flevoland is named after the builder of the final dike, Cornelis Lely. The place was built on a polder about 5 m below sea level. Lelystad is considered a green garden city with modern architecture. We recommend a visit to the nearby Batavia shipyard where historical wooden ships are reproduced. At the port of Lelystad, the almost 30 km long bank towards Enkhuizen begins behind the lock. When everything was still a North Sea bay in the past, the heavily loaded ships sailed from here with their treasures from Asia and brought wealth to the cities.

Welcome to the canal city. Water has always shaped life in Amsterdam. Since its foundation around 700 years ago, people have come from all over the world to settle here. Over time, the city became a melting pot of cultures. The Amsterdam canal belt with its countless colorful houseboats is part of the Unesco World Heritage Amsterdam, Holland's secret capital, Venice of the north, red light district and bicycle metropolis, a city where you have to stay once in your life.

IJmuiden is a major seaport in the Netherlands. The city owes its foundation and its name (mouth) to the construction of the North Sea Canal, which connects the city and the port of Amsterdam directly with the North Sea. Coming from Amsterdam at the end of the North Sea Canal, IJmuiden is an important junction in shipping and is often referred to as the offshore terminal of Amsterdam. IJmuiden is also Holland's largest fishing port. Early in the morning, fish auctions in the action halls offer the opportunity to experience Holland off the beaten track. Getting up early is rewarded with the view of the beautiful lighthouse in the morning light. Other sights of IJmuiden are the four locks, of which the Noordersluis, with a length of 400 m, is the largest in Europe.

Texel is the largest of the five Frisian islands in the Wadden Sea. It is 15 km long and 9 km wide. The flat island scores with its seemingly endless sandy beaches on the west coast. The lovely small towns and nature reserves as well as the seals sanctuary can be explored by bike. Typical for the island are the thatched, listed “Gulf houses” that serve as sheep stables.

Hindeloopen

Hindeloopen was once one of the wealthiest port cities in Friesland and has a long maritime tradition. With its old cobblestone streets, it is considered one of the most beautiful small towns in Europe. Life runs a bit slower here and you feel like you are in a picturesque village from a fairy tale book.

Stavoren is the oldest city in Friesland. The Hanseatic city is one of the largest leisure harbors. The name Stavoren is closely related to the type of ship “Staverse Jol”, which was once used for fishing by the Anchovies. Today, this form of ship, with an onion-shaped bow, long keel with little draft, is still used on robust steel cruisers.

In Enkhuizen at the harbor, old merchant and warehouse buildings provide a picturesque backdrop. Enkhuizen was in the 17th century, in the "Golden Century", the richest and most powerful city on the Zuiderzee and is the most beautifully preserved old town on the IJsselmeer. The Zuiderzee Museum in the old packing house is interesting. It provides  an almost complete insight into the history of the Zuiderzee, the fight against the water, shipping, shipbuilding, fishing, art and commerce.

Qualification requirements

For a yacht charter in the Netherlands, you need one of the licences listed below as well as a radio licence.

• Sport boat licence sea
• SKS (Sport Coastal Ship Licence)
• Internationally valid offshore patent
• or a patent for near-coastal navigation
• as well as a radio licence

If you do not have a sailing licence or do not have enough experience, you can also book a skipper for the desired yacht.

• Dinghy and outboard can be booked separately upon request and are to be paid on site.
• The deposit can only be paid in cash or by advance bank transfer.

Lelystad has an oceanic climate. To experience mild or pleasant temperatures in Lelystad, you should plan your yacht charter between May and September. The water temperature during these months is between 12°C and 20°C. In July, the highest average temperature is around 21°C.

Yachtcharter Ijsselmeer und Markermeer

Das Ijsselmeer ist wohl das bekannteste Gewässer in Holland. Oft wird auch das Markermeer dazu gezählt, auch wenn es sich um zwei verschiedene Gewässer handelt.

Ijsselmeer und Markermeer entstanden 1932, als die ehemalige Meersbucht Zuiderzee eingedeicht wurde. Daraus resultiert der größte Binnensee Hollands, das Ijsselmeer, an welchem südlich das Markermeer anschließt.

„Meer“ bedeutet im Niederländischen übrigens „Binnensee“. Das Süßwasserrevier ist tidenunabhängig, gut geschützt und bietet eine Menge an schönen Törnzielen.

Viele der alten, früheren Seehäfen der Zuiderzee sind bis heute trotz der Eindeichung erhalten und verfügen über meistens hervorragend ausgestattete und moderne Marinas sowie hübsche alte Stadthäfen im typisch holländischen Stil, wie Enkhuizen, Hoorn oder Volendam.

Über das südliche Markermeer lässt sich auch das Highlight wohl jeder Yachtcharter in Holland besuchen: die Weltstadt Amsterdam .

Ijsselmeer und Markermeer eignen sich somit hervorragend für einen ausgedehnten Chartertörn.

Anspruchsvoller, weil tidenabhängig, ist das Revier rund um die Westfriesischen Inseln und der „Waddenzee“, dem Wattenmeer. Die Inseln Texel, Vlieland, Terschelling, Ameland und Schiermonnikoog lohnen sich unbedingt für einen Besuch.

Für einen Chartertörn auf der Niederländischen Waddenzee bedarf es jedoch einiges an Erfahrung im Umgang mit Strömungsrichtungen, Wasserständen, Tidenberechnung, Hoch- und Niedrigwasser. Für die Yachtcharter eigen sich hier auch die typisch holländischen Plattbodenschiffe , mit denen im Watt auch ein Trockenfallen möglich ist.

Yachtcharter Friesland

Ein Abstecher in die Kanäle, Flüsse und Seen Frieslands ist auch bei der Yachtcharter sehr beliebt. Die als Staande Mastroute bezeichnete Route durch Frieslands Kanäle wird auch von Seglern mit stehendem Mast benutzt, um die Passage auf der Nordsee geschützt zu umfahren.

Unterwegs warten viel Natur und sehenswerte historische Städte, wie zum Beispiel Leeuwarden . Besonders beliebt sind die Brückenpassagen, bei denen die Gebühr per Bargeld in sogenannte Klompjes – Holzschuhe, die vom Brückenwärter an einer Schnur herabgelassen werden – bezahlt wird. Friesland ist das, was man als das typische Holland bezeichnen kann – Klappbrücken, Windmühlen, gut ausgebaute Kanäle, kleine Binnenseen und wundervolle Städte.

Yachtcharter Zeeland

Zeeland ist eine Provinz im Süden der Niederlande an der Grenze zu Belgien. Zeeland besteht aus vielen Inseln und Halbinseln und bietet viele abwechslungsreiche Gewässer, Kanäle und Buchten. Der stetige, oft kräftige Südwestwind und die überdurchschnittlich vielen Sonnenstunden laden zu einem abwechslungsreichen Chartertörn mit der Segelyacht ein.

Wind und Wetter für Yachtcharter in Holland

Wind und Wetter in den Niederlanden werden von der Nordsee geprägt. Die vorherrschenden Windrichtungen sind Nord, Süd und West in ungefähr gleicher Verteilung, Ostwind kommt seltener vor. Segler kommen hier voll auf ihre Kosten, im Durchschnitt wehen beständige Winde um 4 Beaufort Stärke.

Die besten Monate für die Yachtcharter in Holland sind Mai bis September, die Hauptsaison ist von Juni bis August. Aber auch im April und Oktober gibt es häufig schon viele schöne Tage, die sich für einen Chartertörn zu günstigen Preisen in der Nebensaison durchaus lohnen.

Entlang der Nordseeküste und im Westfriesischen Wattenmeer sollte das Wetter stets noch genauer betrachtet werden als gewöhnlich. Starkwinde oder gar Sturm führen hier fast immer zu hohem Seegang. Aber auch auf dem Ijsselmeer kann je nach Windrichtung und -stärke eine unangenehme, kurze Welle entstehen.

Anreise in die Niederlande

Mit dem Auto ist die Anreise in die Niederlande meistens sehr unkompliziert. Je nach Destination lohnt sich die Anreise nach Holland aber auch per Bahn. Das Streckennetz in den Niederlanden ist sehr gut ausgebaut und überall dort, wo kein Zug hält, gibt es meistens sehr gute und schnelle Busverbindungen.

Wer von weiter entfernt nach Holland anreisen möchte und lieber fliegt, landet meistens auf dem Flughafen in Amsterdam, von wo aus es mit einem gut ausgebauten und schnell getakteten ÖPNV in die umliegenden Städte weiter geht. Auch das weiter im Süden gelegene Rotterdam verfügt über einen Flughafen. Von hier aus ist die Anreise für den Chartertörn in Zeeland näher. Allerdings sind direkte Verbindungen seltener als nach Amsterdam-Schipol und oft auch teurer.
