Oyster Charter provides fully crewed luxury charters exclusively on Oyster yachts, the world's finest bluewater sailing boats.

Most charters are for seven days, but shorter charters may be possible on request.

Oyster Charter has been running charters for over 25 years. We will work with you to understand your needs and those of your family and guests, as well as the destinations you are interested in visiting. We know Oyster Yachts inside out and will recommend the right yacht for you. We will also create an itinerary to make sure you get the most from every minute of your charter.

We offer charter yachts in most popular sailing spots, from Italy, Spain and Croatia to the Caribbean and US East Coast. See our Charter destination section for more details.

Yes, all our charters welcome families with children. Some yachts may have an age minimum.

No, the crew are part of the charter. As a result, they know the boat inside out and will make sure all you have a fantastic cruise.

Our charter fleet carry a range of water sports gear and toys, along with TVs, sound systems and wi-fi. Please see individual listings for an overview of available water sports kit and amenities.

The water sports toys are there for your enjoyment as part of the charter. It is not possible to dive from most yachts in the fleet. If you wish to SCUBA dive, your crew will arrange diving excursions with local dive companies.

Yes, Oyster Charter yachts are fully crewed by experienced and qualified sailors. If you have experience, that is great but no experience is necessary.

Once the booking is confirmed, we will provide a charter preference sheet which will include food preferences and any activities you may wish to do during your charter. This will be sent to the crew who will then contact you to understand your requirements, answer all your questions, offer advice to help you make the most of your cruise, and prepare an itinerary and menus.

Yes, most yachts will have satellite phones, but charges apply. Personal mobile phones will work when near shore. Wi-Fi is available on some yachts – please check the individual listings to confirm this is the case on your chosen yacht.

You do not need a license or sailing qualifications - our crews are all fully qualified and responsible for sailing the yachts.

The crew are there to look after you while you are on your charter. As well as sailing, maintaining the yacht and following your itinerary, they will take care of food, refreshments and anything else you require.

The charter fee includes the yacht and crew. Additional costs are for shoreside transport, food and beverages, fuel, bar, dockage, port fees, cruising taxes and communications. VAT is applicable in EU countries. A crew gratuity of 10% to 20% of the charter fee is customary at the end of the charter.

We would collect 25% of the charter fee as an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) to be used towards these expenses. A total summary of expenses will be presented to you by the captain at the end of the charter and any funds remaining would be returned to you.

Contact Oyster Charter and we will help inform the ideal yacht charter based on your requirements. Once the yacht and location have been decided, we will ask you to sign the charter agreement and a 50% deposit will be due. Six weeks prior to the charter the balance payment, VAT and APA will be due. These funds will be held in an escrow account.

Why: Choose a Mediterranean Yacht Charter?

Mediterranean yacht charter vacations are always by far and away the most popular summer location. You can read hundreds of our client endorsements here . Think the French Riviera, Monaco, Italy, Croatia, Sardinia, Spain and Greece. This is where most of the large crewed superyachts are concentrated and this is where also where you will find a huge variety of interesting places and cultures to experience. The Mediterranean (or Med’ for short) has everything. The area covers a large diversity of countries, cultures landscapes and experiences. Yet, the fantastic thing is that they are relatively close together, so you can create convenient and action packed itineraries very easily. On top of this, the yachting infrastructure in Europe is second to none so there are dozens of beautiful marinas filled with beautiful private superyachts and mega yachts that can be chartered as well as all the shops, restaurants, bars and conveniences that you could need. Because of its popularity the Mediterranean has an incredible choice of charter boats available to rent, both motor (power) yachts and sailing yachts, including the ever more widespread large luxury private superyacht charters.

How Much Does it Cost To Charter a Yacht in The Mediterranean?

Mediterranean yacht charter prices vary according to the size, style and age of the yacht. Our luxury superyacht charter yachts rent from 30,000 Euro to over 1,000,000 per week, plus expenses, in the form of an advanced provisioning allowance (APA). Conversely, smaller 'all inclusive' type vacations cost between Euro 15,000 to 50,000 per week. Timing & Weather: The Mediterranean Yachting Season

The Mediterranean yachting season generally runs from April to the end of October. During the height of the season, in July and August, the climate is warm and sunny and the winds tend to be light. While this is the high season for all tourism, you can still easily avoid onshore tourists while afloat. The weather can also be good during the shoulder seasons.

Tip: Shoulder Season Means Value & Choice

Another good time to charter your yacht is generally on either of the shoulder seasons from April-May and September-October. These periods fall each side of the main summer season when the temperatures are still comfortable. September, for instance, is an underrated time of the year because the weather is usually good (if not too hot) but the sea is at its maximum temperature which is ideal for swimming. At this time there is greater choice of berths and anchorages for your boating vacation and the onshore tourists are not present in their largest numbers.

My family and I had a wonderful experience with The Hampton roads boat company. We took my daughter out as a graduation present booked a sunset cruise on board the tiki boat down the hatch. My family and I met the tiki boat at lynnhaven public boat ramp. Captain Robbie was our guide he greeted everyone with a smile and a lei that was a nice touch. The boat was a 30 by 15 foot pontoon boat wonderfully decorated tiki style with ample comfortable seating no matter where you sit had a great view of the inlet.Learned a lot about the inlet on the cruise over to our first destination lots of bars restaurants and beautiful houses cruising down the river every one waving at us. Tiki boats bring good vibes . We then arrived at the park beach Captain Robbie expertly docked us. Had a swim call and picnic it was so nice pretty much had the place to ourselves. Then back on board to cruise the rest of the inlet. Watched a beautiful sunset! I am really happy with this tiki trip my daughter said it was the highlight of her week. I will definitely be using this service again. Thank you Hampton roads boat club.

If you're looking for a great experience out on the water with a laid back and knowledgeable tour guide, this is it. We used Hampton Roads Boat Co to celebrate a 30th birthday and it was AMAZING. Can't recommend enough, I know my friend will talk about his 30th for many years!

Monaco Yacht Show announces new Sailing Yacht Area

Just a month away from opening its doors, the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show has announced a brand new exhibition dedicated to showcasing large sailing yachts. 

Scheduled to run from 25-28 September, the forthcoming Monaco Yacht Show celebrates its 33rd year with an elite collection of over 120 superyachts and luxury yacht charters in the beautiful Port Hercule. 

Featuring some of the world's most distinguishable shipyards, Monaco is the place to be to view some of the most elaborate and most expensive yacht charters in the world.

With many popular attractions returning for the 2024 edition, including the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub, prospective France yacht charter guests will be able to explore an even wider variety of yachts this year with the introduction of the new Sailing Yacht Area.

Situated in the Dockside Area at Quai l'Hirondelle, the new zone is dedicated to displaying some of the most extravagant sailing yacht charters on the market along with some captivating models from international builders.

Welcoming a curated collection of luxury yachts to the inaugural appearance of the Sailing Yacht Zone, yacht rental highlights for the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show include 131.3ft (40m)  yacht charter STATE OF GRACE and the stunning 173.11ft (53m) sailing yacht charter DRUMBEAT .
