Here’s How Our Saxdor 32 Program works

• Every member must take Sovereign Yacht Club’s safe boating course and receive hands-on boat use orientation. All family members over 21 are eligible as operators after taking the course.
• You pay one fee for unlimited use or charter by the day, your option.
• Reserve the days you want the boat online. Some rules apply.
• Our boats are intended for member operation, but if a captain is wanted, the Club will supply one for an extra fee.
• Once you’re done for the day, step off the boat, we clean and sanitize the boat for the next member.
• Members are first in line for renewal for subsequent years, as we limit the number of members for each boat.
• Enjoy your time on the water in a premium boat.

Six Walt Disney World Resorts The Experts Choose (And WHY!)

Sooooo…you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World , and with so many places to choose from (close to thirty Disney resorts last time we counted!)  it can feel a bit like rappelling down Big Thunder Mountain without a safety net trying to pick the right one! Even when you’ve made your selection, you’ll likely have to fight off some serious FOMO about the resorts you didn’t select!)

So how do you make the best decision for you, your fam, and your budget? You call the experts!  We’ve got the skinny on these six Walt Disney World Resort hotels that the pros always choose — and here’s why!

Yacht and Beach Club Resorts

You’ll often see Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts lumped together as one single entity, but they’re actually a secret Disney World two-for-one!  These two adjacent resorts are more than just close neighbors; they share many amenities and some tasty dining options, too. By choosing one of these resorts, you actually get to have the best of both worlds!

Both Yacht and Beach Club are deluxe resorts and share an exclusive pool (it’s actually more like a water park!)  called  Stormalong Bay ! This “pool” — (again, we use the term “pool” loosely here since this place is totally bonkers!) has a lazy river; a totally decked out shipwreck-themed waterslide; a sandy bottom pool with zero entry; and tons of other stuff you’ll just have to see for yourself! It’s super fun for all ages (especially the littles!) and it’s only for guests who stay here! If you’re hip to giving yourself a “Resort day” to rest between trips to the Disney parks, you’ll have a blast chillin’ out at Stormalong Bay!

The Yacht and Beach Club is also super close to Disney’s BoardWalk Inn and Villas (just a quick walk or Friendship Boat ride away!)  AND  Disney’s Swan and Dolphin hotels — yet ANOTHER reason the pros choose Yacht and Beach Club — you’re literally just steps away from tons of great restaurants that these neighboring resorts have to choose from!

Oh, and can we take a sec to rave about   Beaches & Cream ? It’s conveniently located right near Stormalong Bay and is THE BEST place to get some classic diner eats (we’re talkin’ burgers, grilled cheese, chili cheese fries…even their tomato soup is delish). And you’re not going to believe your eyes when you see some of the fantastic ice cream confections they have — namely the magical Beaches & Cream creature dubbed the Kitchen Sink!   Find out what you’re missing here !

Remember the  BoardWalk Inn we mentioned earlier? Well, this place is home to some awesome nightly entertainment at hotspots like Jellyrolls ( oh hello, dueling pianos!) and Atlantic Dance Hall!  Disney’s Hollywood Studios and EPCOT’s International Gateway also make the Yacht and Beach Club’s locale amazingly convenient for hopping over to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for a nightcap at Oga’s or a quick jaunt around the World Showcase!

And now the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts are just a short walk away from the  Disney Skyliner , too! They’re linking up with several other resorts, including  Disney’s Riviera Resort  and Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, so now you’ll have MORE Resorts to explore. Riviera’s rooftop Topolino’s Terrace — Flavors of the Riviera offers a great view of nearby fireworks shows, and Sebastian’s Bistro at Caribbean Beach shows off some tasty Caribbean eats!

Disney pros know timing is everything, and from Yacht and Beach Club, you have convenient, easy access to just about everything you could need or want! Staying here means you can you’ll be able to get around a lot more freely and not have to rely so much on the sometimes unreliable Disney bus transportation to get around. The Friendship Boats connect the resorts to BoardWalk Inn, the Swan and Dolphin hotels, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT — or you could just do what we do, and hoof it!

That’s right: Disney’s put in several handy-dandy walkways to connect the two Parks and five Resorts , putting you literally just steps away from near-limitless dining and entertainment options! Just make sure you’re wearing comfy shoes!

Wilderness Lodge

In the pantheon of Deluxe Resorts at Walt Disney World, Wilderness Lodge is beloved for many reasons. Its warm and rustic feel is eternally welcoming and SO COZY! Its location is top-notch, and it tends to be a little less expensive than other Deluxe resorts. (And aside from its year-round National Parks cabin feel — which we love — you’ve GOT to see this Resort during the Christmas holidays, too! GORG!)

Wilderness Lodge is located in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area, and it’s just a short little boat ride away from the iconic park. This means if you’re planning to spend a lot of time cruising “it’s a small world”, you’ll be conveniently located to do that to your heart’s content! (Um, translation: at least five times each!)

From the Wilderness Lodge marina, you can also embark on a guided fishing excursion on Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. Disney World practices catch-and-release, and excursions are booked for two or four hours. If you’ve ever wanted to live that outdoorsy life but just can’t bring yourself to leave the Disney bubble, this is your chance!

Likewise, if you want to get behind the wheel of a small boat during your Wilderness Lodge vacation, you can live your best boat captain life at Disney World, too! There are boats of up to two, up to six, and up to ten passengers, so there’s an option for just about everyone.

The dining at Wilderness Lodge is also great across the board. Whispering Canyon Cafe is a fun, family-oriented restaurant where asking for a straw might mean you get twenty, or downing a glass of soda might get you a GIANT refill and a fast pass to the restroom (literally)! The hijinks here are part of the appeal, and guests from all over Walt Disney World travel to Wilderness Lodge to experience it. Stay at Wilderness Lodge, and you’ll only have to cross the lobby!

Storybook Dining at Artist Point lets guests dine with Snow White, some of her Dwarf friends, and the Evil Queen — and it actually has great food, unlike a lot of other character meals! And the Resort’s Quick Service spot, Roaring Fork , serves up some awesome Mickey Waffles (and it’s one of the only places to get them LOADED with toppings!). Oh hai, Dopey!

There’s even great nearby dining at Fort Wilderness, which is an easy walk or boat ride away. Trail’s End Buffet  is a satisfying belt buster and tends to be a little less crowded and chaotic (and much less expensive) than other buffet options on property. And Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue is a rip-roarin’ guest favorite dinner show, which can be highly enjoyed by all ages. Note that we recommend booking Tier 1 or 2 tables versus Tier 3 (which doesn’t have as good a view of the stage) — trust us, you’re gonna want a good seat for this party!

But the tipping point for a lot of families when it comes to Wilderness Lodge is the price. For the location, amenities (the pools are so fun!), and dining options, this Deluxe Resort usually comes in under the price of comparable Resorts — by as much as $200 or more per night for standard view rooms. (The only Deluxe that regularly costs less is Animal Kingdom Lodge.) For that reason, the pros know Wilderness Lodge is a great value.

Coronado Springs Resort

If a Moderate Resort is more your style, you can’t do better than the value of Coronado Springs . This Resort is a favorite of convention-goers, so it often goes under the radar for families and couples. But being popular for conventions also means Coronado Springs has Deluxe Resort-level amenities for way less money! Gotta save that paper where we can, people!

We’re talking two spas and fitness centers (one brand new in the lower level of Gran Destino Tower!), a full-service salon, and SO. MUCH. FOOD!!!

Since the opening of Gran Destino Tower in 2019, the Resort has featured Toledo — Tapas, Steak, & Seafood , its rooftop restaurant, and Dahlia Lounge , its rooftop lounge. These spots offer sweeping views, Spanish-inspired cuisine, and lots of exclusive signature drinks, bb! They also feature incredibly artful interior designs that must be seen IRL to be truly appreciated — and you don’t even have to be staying in the Tower to enjoy these prime spots!

In addition to Gran Destino Tower, guests will also find recently renovated rooms in the rest of the Resort, too. Such luxury!

And if you’re traveling with someone who’s less of a Disney fan than you are, Coronado Springs rooms offer just a touch of Disney — a hidden Mickey here, a fun print there. So if you get burnt out on all the characters, color, and chaos of the Parks, you can really find a retreat here!  Is that the three Caballeros we spy?

Another perk of Coronado Springs Resort? The club-level amenities in Gran Destino Tower mirror those of the Deluxe Resorts — but you don’t have to pay the Deluxe BUCKS to enjoy them! Chronos Lounge is stunning, has expansive views, and offers a stylish getaway within the Tower.

The pros know you get more for your money at Coronado Springs, so even though it’s a trek from the parks, it can be just the budget-friendly (for Disney World, anyway!) oasis you’re looking for.

Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter

Another Moderate Resort the pros pick is Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter . This Resort is one of the smallest Moderate Resorts in terms of guest rooms (only the Cabins at Fort Wilderness have fewer rooms, and that Resort’s sort of in a class of its own) with just over 1000. But the charm of the Resort is what makes this Resort a HUGE Pro PICK!  It’s a BIG ol’ dose of the BIG EASY in a little package!

Styled after New Orleans’ classic exteriors, you’ll find colorful buildings, endless wrought iron, and distinctive hardscape and landscape. Guest room buildings are even given a multi-layered, thoughtful design to give them that New Orleans vibe — and also we just think the pastel colors are soooo pretty!!

The size of French Quarter is also part of its charm. Being on the small side, it has just one bus stop (the other Moderates have two or more), which means you get to the parks FASTER. Dining can be found in one convenient location — and Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory , the Resort’s quick service food court, offers flavorful food that you won’t find everywhere else! (Did somebody say Mickey Beignets?)

Yup! This is the one spot on Disney World property where you can sink your teeth into the deliciousness that is the Mickey Beignet! Other popular dishes here include traditional New Orleans recipes like Po’Boys and Jambalaya, gumbo, and barbecued ribs.

Additional dining includes Scat Cat’s Club Cafe where guests (and visitors) can order up some of the Resort’s specialty Mickey Beignets — as if they couldn’t get any better, somehow they did! Must be because you can get them with BOOZE too!

And Scat Cat’s Club offers dining, drinking, and entertainment — all fabulous in the Moderate Resort category. A few years ago,  Scat Cat’s moved to a larger space, meaning there’s even more space to laissez les bons temps rouler !

But if that’s not enough dining and fun for you, French Quarter’s sister resort (just a quick walk or boat ride away), Port Orleans — Riverside , brings guests to the bayou in its Riverside Mill food court .

Looking for a table-service meal that’s priced right and close-by? Port Orleans — Riverside offers dinner at  Boatwright’s Dining Hall , a down-home restaurant with southern and bayou classics like jambalaya, corn bread, and some seriously good butter cake (here’s hoping it’s on the menu when you’re there!).

And don’t forget — while you’ve got an incredible Sea Serpent pool and splash pad at Port Orleans — French Quarter, you’re also welcome to swim over at Ol’ Man Island, Port Orleans — Riverside’s pool, where they also have a little dock for pole fishin’ in the river! Two pools for the price of one Moderate Resort? Yup, that’s yet another reason why the pros love to dip their toes here! Us pros are all ’bout the TWOFERS!

Plus, it’s never a bad idea to spend an evening exploring Riverside’s winding pathways with views of the Sassagoula River! So beautiful!

Speaking of which, one of the sweetest amenities at French Quarter is the Sassagoula River Cruise , a water taxi that connects the Port Orleans Resorts with Disney Springs. This relaxing boat ride is the perfect way to unwind before enjoying all that the dining, shopping, and entertainment district has to offer. And it’s free to use.

Want to really drive home the historic New Orleans charm? French Quarter also offers carriage rides (for a fee) that will roll you around the Resort for a relaxing ride — perfect for riding in with your Prince Charming!

Basically, this resort has a lot of fun and unique charms!

Caribbean Beach Resort

Caribbean Beach Resort is another terrific Moderate Resort option that the pros know just seriously raised its stock!

With the 2019 opening of the Disney Skyliner gondola system, Caribbean Beach is now a hub connecting EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts, and Riviera Resort.

This system can transport guests from station to station in as few as three minutes, and guests have reported appreciating the system’s efficiency and views. (Skyliner has not been without its snags, however. Click here to read about one such incident. )

Caribbean Beach Resort is also a spacious resort. It’s spread waaay out, with guest rooms in smaller themed buildings strewn across 200 acres. That means some areas of the Resort can be very quiet and secluded which we LOVE. For travelers looking for that kind of atmosphere, this is a great choice! The two-story buildings of Caribbean Beach definitely have a Resort feel, like somewhere you’d call home in the real Caribbean. But, you know, with more Hidden Mickeys. 😉

Thanks to a recent refurbishment of the entire Resort, guest rooms have a fresh feel, and dining options were refreshed, too! Table service restaurant Sebastian’s Bistro offers some terrific, Caribbean-inspired cuisine, while Banana Cabana is easily a destination-worthy pool bar. I mean, even the name makes us giggle with delight!

Speaking of which, the Fuentes del Morro Pool is loads of fun. It’s themed to a Caribbean-style fortress, and its design means even the smallest pirates in your party can enjoy it!

Low cost? Check. Great pool? Check. Direct (and FAST) access via Skyliner to two Disney World theme parks? Check. Updated and refreshed dining options? Check. Yep, Caribbean Beach has come a long way from the under-construction-and-people-had-to-eat-in-a-huge-tent past few years… and the Disney pros know it.

Art of Animation Resort

When the pros stay at a Value Resort at Walt Disney World, they stay at Art of Animation .

This Resort is a combination of typical Value Resort rooms and family suites. Those suites will fit six (plus an under-3 in a portable crib!), so your whole crew can stay together — and can we just say how totally in love with the Cars-theming we are. Yeah, Disney, you really brought it with this one!

Even better: the family suites at Art of Animation have two full bathrooms (one with a tub-shower combo and one with a luxurious walk-in shower) and a true master bedroom with a door that closes to the rest of the family suite (cue: putting on a Disney movie for the kids in the living area and taking a nap in the master bedroom). Anyone who’s traveled with kids knows what a gem it is to be able to escape to an actual room with actual LIGHTS ON after bedtime instead of sitting in the bathroom with the door closed to read our book and sip a glass of chardonnay. (Sound familiar?)

Art of Animation has convenient access to everything a family needs, too. The Landscape of Flavors food court serves up a wide variety of eats from classic chicken nuggets and fries to fresh-made Asian-style stir fry. The Ink & Paint Shop sells souvenirs and essentials like toothbrushes, diapers, and sunscreen, just in case you’ve forgotten something at home — and all of this is just a short walk from your room!

The amenities at this Value Resort aren’t as extensive as you find at Moderate and Deluxe Resorts, but the pools here are fantastic. The Resort as a whole is meticulously themed (from buildings to landscaping!) to celebrate four classic Disney animated movies: The Little Mermaid, The Lion King , Finding Nemo , and Cars . Three of these have associated pools, the most lauded of which is the Big Blue Pool . This Nemo-themed pool is the largest at Walt Disney World and also has an adjacent splash pad and play area. It’s fun for the whole family.

Another great feature: Art of Animation and its sister Resort Pop Century share a Skyliner station (located at Generation Gap Bridge between the two Resorts). This means the large Resorts and their many guests can access Hollywood Studios and EPCOT without using the Disney bus system. This alleviates some of the pressure these Resorts experience at their bus stops. And the pros know if you can avoid waiting in a long bus queue and awkwardly standing with your folded stroller all the way to EPCOT, your day is already off to a great start!

We stayed Caribbean Beach preferred in October. No hot water despite multiple service calls. Will never stay again.

I once counted the table service restaurants one could walk to from Epcot resorts such as Yacht and Beach Club. It came out to almost exactly HALF of all table service restaurants in Disney World!

Soooooooooooooo, what was the number?

If a pro is staying at Art of Animation is a standard room I wouldn’t listen to their advice. Both the farthest away and most expensive standard rooms. Stay at either All-Star Sports for cost and proximity to Animal Kingdom or stay at Pop Century for rooms with Skyliner access.

Well, in this Disney Riviera resort vs Beach Club comparison review, I’m going to cover everything that these two great resort hotels have to offer, including pricing, amenities, transportation, restaurants and more!

So let’s begin with the great Disney Beach Club Resort .

Disney’s Beach Club Resort

Disney’s Beach Club Resort is a luxury, Four-Diamond Award-Winning resort that opened November 1990 on Disney World property. Disney’s Beach Club is known for its luxurious sand-bottom pools, and its beautiful Newport Beach Cottage theme. Key reasons to choose the Disney Beach Club include: its proximity to the BoardWalk and Epcot, its gorgeous landscaping, and its high-quality seafood restaurants. 

The theme of the Beach Club Resort is, well, “beachy.” The New England Style architecture, colors, and decor are designed to look like a Newport Beach cottage. The resort boasts gorgeous blue and green buildings, white sand beaches, a pool to top all Disney World pools, and seafood restaurants galore. 

Neither Disney’s Beach Club nor Disney’s Riviera Resort are known for their cost-effectiveness. Both of these hotels are quite pricey in exchange for their fancy experience. Rooms at Disney’s Beach Club resort typically range from a low of $504 /night in a standard room during low season, to $991/night for a deluxe room during peak season.

Summer prices typically vary from $600 to $800 per night. Beach Club Villas typically start at around $1000/night, and are only available to DVC members.

Keep in mind that prices are always subject to change and, due to inflation, will inevitably increase a bit over time.

The steep price to stay at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is justified by the incredible amenities at recreational activities available at this luxury hotel. For starters, the Beach Club boasts what we consider to be the best pool in all of Walt Disney World Florida. The pool and waterside paraphernalia spans a whopping three acres, and includes a life-size shipwreck that gives way to a waterslide, a lazy river, three whirlpool spas, and a sand pool ideal for little kids. 

Next to the pool sits a classic 1950s-style diner adorably named Beaches and Cream . Whether you stop by for a burger and a shake, or you crave a poolside sundae, this ice cream parlor is an essential part of your poolside adventure. 

If miniature golf is your thing, the Beach Club is the right place for you. Their on-site 5-hole fantasia-themed course is perfect for both kids and adults.

There are many hotel activities designed for kids including resort campfires for roasting s’mores, outdoor movie showings , and a Pirate Adventure Cruise where they can search for hidden treasure. There’s also an arcade next to the pool!

Adult guests can take advantage of the motorized boat rental opportunities, fishing excursions, sand volleyball courts , and beachside jogging trails . If fitness is your thing, the Beach Club is also home to Ship Shape , a 24-hour on-site gym with a neighboring spa.

Transportation Options

Disney’s Beach Club offers bus transportation to all of the Disney World parks, waterparks and to Disney Springs. The Beach Club is unique in that it is situated within walking-distance of Epcot and Epcot’s Skyliner transportation station. The Beach Club is also one of few resorts that offer boat transportation through Disney’s Friend Ships .

Ease of getting to and from the parks

The Beach Club Resort is most convenient for its easy access to Epcot, which is a short walk from the back of the resort. Hollywood Studios is technically also walkable, if you prefer very long walks, but we recommend taking a boat to that park. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are reachable by bus, and so are both of the waterparks and Disney Springs. 

Disney’s Beach Club Restaurants

Disney’s Beach Club resort is home to a few casual dining options, a handful of lounges, and some fine-dining restaurants. Most notable is Cape May Cafe , a breakfast buffet in the morning and seasonal surf and turf restaurant in the evening that frequently hosts character dining opportunities.

Cape May Cafe

Located in the lobby of the Beach Club Resort, Cape May Cafe is the perfect place for a family-style breakfast, or a surf and turf dinner featuring fresh mussels, shrimp, crab legs, lobster, and slow-roasted strip loin. If you’re a seafood fanatic, this casual dining option is a great dinner choice for you.

Beaches and Cream

This poolside diner is the perfect place to pick up a sundae or stay for a grilled cheese and a strawberry shake. Available for lunch and dinner, this ice cream parlor is known for their onion rings, and their kitchen sink sundae, which comes in a sink-shaped souvenir cup and serves four.

Beach Club Marketplace

If you’re in need of a quick grab-and-go snack or an easy quick-service meal, stop by the Beach Club Marketplace . This serves as a kind of mini grocery store for the hotel, equipped with the essentials and some simple snacks. We recommend anything from their breakfast menu, and their brisket mac and cheese.

Martha’s Vineyard

This New England beach house themed lounge is known for their wine and cheese, but they also have imported draft beers, a cocktail menu, and a handful of hearty appetizers. Try their New England clam chowder, loaded potato barrels, and artisan cheese plate with your favorite beverage.

Hurricane Hannah’s Waterside Bar and Grill

If you get hungry during your pool day, don’t fret! Hurricane Hannah’s is here to satiate your snacky needs. Relax by the lazy river with some onion rings, chicken tenders, and a cocktail. Whether you need a pina colada or a blueberry lemonade, there are plenty of beverages for adults and kids alike. 

Ale & Compass Restaurant and Lounge

This nautical themed lounge is where you should stop if you crave a flatbread pizza and a mojito. Kids can enjoy strawberry, lime, and grapefruit “no-jito” drinks, and parents can sample from the large selection of wines. 

Yachtsman Steakhouse

For a fancy dinner in a New England style steakhouse, check out the Yachtsman Steakhouse . This restaurant is technically located in Disney’s Yacht Club resort, but because it borders the Beach Club, Disney includes it in their Beach Club restaurant list. Here you and your family can enjoy a delicious steak or lobster meal with some French onion soup, and a savory side of truffle mac and cheese. 

Disney’s Riviera Resort

To continue our review of Disney’s Riviera Resort vs Beach Club resort, we now need to spill the details on Disney’s Riviera Resort , a modern European themed DVC-exclusive hotel that opened in December 2019. Disney’s Riviera Resort is known for its access to Disney’s skyliner , the newest mode of Disney transportation inspired by Walt Disney himself. The Riviera is also home to some of the biggest, most accommodating hotel rooms on Disney property. If you’re looking for a high-end, quiet, modern Disney resort, the Riviera is for you.

The Riviera resort is designed to look like a classy European hotel, filled with modern amenities. The exterior is meticulously designed, with well-kept gardens, and a custom-made Tangled mosaic mural . The interior is the definition of class, with white marble-esque flooring, countless custom Disney paintings, and a French-style coffee shop right in the lobby. 

Rooms at the Riviera range from $400 a night, all the way up to $4500 a night. Pricing at the Riviera varies so greatly because of the vast diversity of rooms to choose from. At the Riviera, you can save some cash by staying in a cozy tower studio, or you can splurge on a three-bedroom complete with a full kitchen and living room. All rooms at the Riviera can be purchased with DVC points , which could save you some money if you choose to go in the low season and pay with some saved-up points.

Disney’s Riviera Resort is a relatively quiet hotel that lacks many of the amenities of Disney’s larger resorts. But the Riviera still includes multiple pools and a splash pad. There are also various spaces for lawn games, and large poolside beds for relaxing outdoors. The Riviera also has one of the biggest and nicest gyms on Disney property, so if fitness is your niche, the Riviera is worth considering. 

The Riviera is known for its access to the Skyliner transportation, which can take guests to Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. For access to the other parks, water parks, and Disney Springs, the Riviera also has a bus system similar to those at all other Disney resorts. It’s worth noting that while the Skyliner is cool, new, and convenient, it can’t run in the rain! So during Florida’s rainy season, the Riviera’s bus system gets a lot more use.

As far as we know, the Riviera isn’t within walking distance of any of the Disney parks, but the Skyliner means that transportation from the Riviera to Epcot and Hollywood Studios is quick and easy. Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom require bus transportation, but you could also take the Skyliner to Epcot and then take a monorail to the Magic Kingdom.

Disney’s Riviera Resort Dining

The Riviera Resort is home to only four restaurants, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in quality. Each and every one of the Riviera’s restaurants is worth stopping by! the Riviera is known for their fine dining restaurant Topolino’s Terrace , a fancy French and Italian restaurant located at the top of the Riviera Resort. Topolino’s Terrace is known for their stunning filet mignon, and their decadent creme brulee. They also offer character dining opportunities!

Topolino’s Terrace

As we mentioned, Topolino’s Terrace is the star of the show at Disney’s Riviera resort. Inspired by Europe’s cliffside restaurants, Topolino’s Terrace is as visually stunning as it is delicious. Whether you’re stopping by for a breakfast quiche, or staying for escargot and rigatoni, Topolino’s Terrace is sure to please your taste buds. They also offer character dining opportunities! But pack something other than your park clothes- Topolino’s is one of very few restaurants in Walt Disney World that has a dress code.

Le Petit Cafe

This is the coffee shop we referenced earlier that is conveniently located right in the lobby of the resort. Le Petit Cafe is open all day so you can get your coffee fix before or after the parks, and they also offer a plethora of delicious pastries to choose from. In the evening, Le Petit Cafe also serves alcoholic beverages and small plates inspired by Paris. If you’re in need of a snack, we recommend the charcuterie board and the almond cold brew with honey-almond whipped cream.

Bar Riva is the poolside bar where you can treat yourself to a spicy Italian sandwich, a Greek salad, or a Riva margarita. The bar also includes their fair share of kids cocktails so they can experience this poolside luxury as well.

Primo Piatto

Last on the list of restaurants at the Riviera is Primo Piatto , a quick-service restaurant that offers convenient grab-and-go options. Enjoy a croque madame or blueberry lemon pancakes for breakfast, or grab a chocolate croissant before you hit the parks. Primo Piatto is open all day, so if you need a lunch or dinner break, you’re welcome to try your choice of pizzas, hot and cold sandwiches, or an artisanal cheese plate. 

How They Compare

Overall, both the Beach Club and the Riviera resorts are noteworthy hotel options for you and your family if you plan on taking a trip to Walt Disney World in Florida. However, which of these resorts you choose heavily depends on what you’re looking for in your Disney hotel. While the Beach Club is bigger, the Riviera is newer and more modern. The Beach Club is a classic Walt Disney World Resort, but the Riviera is fancy and exclusive to DVC members. 

Other differences between the Beach Club and the Riviera are their highlights. The Beach Club is known for its pool, but the Riviera is known for its restaurant, Topolino’s Terrace. In terms of transportation, the Riviera has on-site access to the Skyliner transportation, but the Beach Club has access to the Friend Ship boat transportation. Both hotels are good options for DVC members because both hotels cater to DVC members, but only the Beach Club caters to non-DVC members and Disney newbies. 

Selecting the Best Disney Hotel Overall

Below, check out some of the best Disney World Resort hotels (especially ones that are deemed more high end), and see how they all compare and contrast to both Disney’s Beach Club, as well as the Riviera Resort.

One of our personal favorites, Disney’s Beach Club Resort is a vintage-beach-themed resort and hotel that includes exclusive villas for DVC guests. The Beach Club makes our top 5 list for it’s iconic theming, its beautiful sand-bottom pool, and its classy seafood restaurants.

We recommend choosing this hotel if you are a DVC member, you or your kids love spending time at the pool, and or you love delicious seafood buffets. The Beach Club is also ideal for guests that love visiting Epcot because it’s located right in Epcot’s backyard. 

Disney’s BoardWalk

Very close in both theme and proximity to Disney’s Beach Club, Disney’s BoardWalk Resort is another one of our favorites. Disney’s BoardWalk is located, well, right on the BoardWalk! Known for its easy access to restaurants, bakeries, and nightlife events, the BoardWalk is a great hotel if you and your family enjoy spending time out on the boardwalk plaza eating fresh churros and watching street performers.

The BoardWalk Hotel also offers easy access to Disney’s Friend Ship boats, which you can take to many of the Walt Disney World resorts and parks.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

If the Magic Kingdom is your favorite park, and Moana is your favorite Disney princess, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort was practically made for you. Known for its plant-filled lobby, water bungalow villas, proximity to the Magic Kingdom, and Polynesian-themed restaurants, Disney’s Polynessian Village is one of our favorite hotels in all of Walt Disney World. 

The theming is absolutely exquisite, with jungle plants and wooden decor galore, and the poolside snack bar even offers our favorite cold treat: Dole Whip . This alone would be reason enough for us to book a room.

The Polynesian Village Resort is a quick monorail trip to Disney’s Magic Kingdom, with hotel room views of the Magic Kingdom Fireworks shows . The Polynesian is also home to some of the most popular restaurants on Walt Disney World property, including Kona Cafe .  

Last but not least, Disney’s DVC members are treated to what’s possibly the coolest Disney villas to date- Bungalows that sit on the water across the lake from the Magic Kingdom. If any of this sounds like your dream destination, the Polynesian Resort Village is the right Disney Resort for you.

Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

Next on our list is the beautiful Spanish-inspired Coronado Springs Resort, the hotel home to Toledo- Tapas, Steak & Seafood restaurant , recently remodeled luxury hotel rooms , and a pool with a pyramid waterfall . This hotel may have the most reasonable room rates of the hotels on our list, and it’s a huge resort that boasts a plethora of activities for kids and adults alike.

Take advantage of Coronado Springs’ scenic jogging trail, sand volleyball courts, and outdoor movie theater with regular Disney Under The Stars movie events. We prefer Disney’s Coronado Springs for the fun pool and delicious food options, and the welcoming atmosphere.

Last on our top 5 list is Disney’s Riviera Resort, which is currently Disney’s newest resort addition. This European-inspired hotel getaway is known for Topolino’s Terrace , the famous Italian and French fine-dining experience mentioned in so many Disney food blogs .

The Riviera resort is also known for its use of the Skyliner as its primary mode of park transportation. Disney’s Riviera Resort is exclusive to DVC members, which makes it an ideal vacation destination for veteran Disney-goers.

Which Resort Should You Choose?

Given all of this information, how do you know which hotel is the best fit for you? We tried to narrow it down to make it easier to pick and choose. 

Choos ing The Beach Club

If you enjoy seafood, night life on the boardwalk, and spending time by the pool, choose the Beach Club. Choose the Beach Club if Epcot is your favorite park, and if you have younger children. 

Choosing The Riviera

If you’re a veteran Disney-goer and a DVC member, choose the Riviera. Choose the Riviera if you prefer a quieter, classier, more exclusive hotel. Choose the Riviera if you like working out, if you prioritize fine dining, and if you love riding the Skyliner.

a) General Data

The general data requested in our forms such as: name, gender, signature, home address, phone number, cell phone number, e-mail, date of birth, job, home city, economic dependents, country, national identity document or passport will be used for the following essential purposes:

• Begin providing services that customers contract with the company;
• To upload our vacational member club ´s information into our systems and database to provide and administer the services contracted
• To create our vacational member clubs ´electronic and paper files;
• Carry out the verification of your personal data collected by our Call Center;
• To comply with the different laws that regulate our services and activities;
• To deal with complaints and inquiries, and to provide our customers with information related to travel reservations or cancellations received by our Call Center;
• To confirm, verify, correct and update the personal data;
• Carry out the sign of the contract;
• To administrate your personal data in the sales room and contracting Area;
• To charge for our services and for the collection efforts with respect to receivables that are not paid when due;
• To charge for services and programs paid electronically with a credit card;
• To charge any additional expenses or fees for extra services contracted, and;
• To properly identify our clients as vacational members club or guests.

Additionally, this information can be used for the following non-essential purposes:

• a) To send our vacational member club offers, discounts, special fees and other benefits;
• b) To improve our holiday offer by sending your information to our business partners;

• d) For promotional and marketing purposes.

b) Financial and Patrimonial Assets Data

The financial and patrimonial data collected such as credit card number, bank account, monthly income and additional incomes, will be used to analyze the financial profile of our vacational members club and customers in order to grant them access to promotions and programs based on their economic characteristics. Furthermore additional information may be required in compliance of Mexican Federal Law to prevent money laundering (Lay Federal para la Prevención e Identificación de Operacions con Recursos de Procedencia lícita LFPIORPI).

According to Mexican Privacy Law, is required to obtain express consent of guests and customers in order to use and process their financial and patrimonial assets data for the different purposes and uses described above. Therefore in compliance with the law, we will request your express authorization in written at the moment of the data collection, informing you the legal consequences of their decision to grant it or not.

The personal data collected by “ Promotora Sunset ” can be transferred to companies that help provide some of the goods and services requested by our customers, which is necessary to comply with the provision of services that are contracted, and also can be transferred to companies who elaborate profiles and consumer trends for our vacational members club, therefore it will not be necessary to have the express consent of the owner of the data for this transfer in accordance to Article 37, Section VII of the LFPDPPP, as well as the provision contained in Article 49 of the GDPR.

Moreover, “ Promotora Sunset ” may use, print, reproduce and publish any captured image(s) of partners vacational members club, guests, beneficiaries and people referred in print, electronic media (blogs, private social networks such as Facebook, website) , in all its manifestations, its interpretations or executions, its editions, its phonograms or videograms, and in its broadcasts, in order to document journalistically and communicate information related to events that are celebrated, such as delivery of awards and rewards, be the images captured by “ Promotora Sunset ” itself or through external suppliers hired for these activities.

When any image of any guest, partners, family member, client, partner or referral is going to be used for advertising purposes, this situation will be notified to the owners, and their express consent will be required in a specific format, to indicate whether they accept the treatment of the images for these purposes.

Secondary Purposes

The information that we collect from our guests, members and customers may be used for advertising, marketing and/or market research, according to the relationship existing between them and “ Promotora Sunset ”. When “ Promotora Sunset ” pretends to use the images for these purposes, the company will request your express authorization in written before its use.

4) Applications for the exercise of these rights must be submitted during working hours and on business days in accordance with the Federal Law of Administrative Procedure.

5) The request must be sent to the email address mentioned in numeral 1) and an acknowledgment of receipt will be sent with the corresponding date of receipt. Should the application not fulfill the legal requirements, we will contact the holder within five (5) business days to ask to amend the application for up to ten (10) business days. Otherwise, the application will be considered as not submitted.

6) In the event that the request has been sent on Friday or on a non-business day, it may be received on the following business day after it was sent.

7) The request will be answered via email within a period of twenty (20) business days from the date of receipt. This period may be extended for twenty (20) additional business days when there are adequate reasons, and this situation will be notified to the holder under the terms of the provisions of Article 97 of the LFPDPPP Regulations.

8) In the event that the request is made in accordance with the LFPDPPP and other current regulations, access will be granted, the data will be corrected or canceled, the right of opposition will be effective or the consent will be revoked, within fifteen (15) business days following the date on which the request was answered. This period may be extended for fifteen (15) additional days for adequate reasons, and this situation will be notified to the holder under the terms of the provisions of Article 97 of the LFPDPPP Regulations.

9) In all cases where the request is appropriate, in accordance with the terms of Articles 32, 33, 34 and 35 of the LFPDPPP, the data will be sent free of charge through the holder’s email address for said purpose. The financial data and information related to the patrimonial assets of the applicant collected such as: real property, personal property, monthly housing payments, monthly income, annual salary, additional income, source of the additional income, total household income, credit card number, expiration date and security number will be used for: (i) process your application in order to acquire financing; (ii) for the charges of the membership fees; (iii) for the management of the contract signed. Furthermore, additional financial data and information related to the patrimonial assets of the clients may be required in compliance of Mexican Federal Law to prevent money laundering (Ley Federal para la Prevención e Identificación de Operaciones con Recursos de Procedencia Ilícita LFPIORPI).

Furthermore, additional financial data and information related to the patrimonial assets of the clients may be required in compliance of Mexican federal law to prevent money laundering (Ley Federal para la Prevención e Identificación de Operaciones con Recursos de Procedencia Ilícita LFPIORPI). According to Mexican Privacy Law, is required to obtain express consent of guests and customers in order to use and process their financial and patrimonial assets data for the different purposes and uses described above. The sensitive data collected in our health questionnaire such as health conditions (allergies, hearth diseases, blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, epilepsy, dermatologic problems), will be used to evaluate your health to determine that you have the physical conditions required for the services offered by the SPA, for the babysitting services and for medical attention if it’s required in case of emergency during our services.

Otherwise, the application will be considered as not submitted. 6)If the request has been sent on Friday or on a non-business day, it may be received on the following business day after it was sent. 7) The request will be answered via email within a period of twenty (20) business days from the date of receipt. This period may be extended for twenty (20) additional business days when there are adequate reasons, and this situation will be notified to the data holder under the terms of the provisions of Article 97 of the RLFPDPPP 8)If the request is made in accordance with the LFPDPPP and other current regulations, access will be granted, the data will be corrected or canceled, the right of opposition will be effective, or the consent will be revoked, within fifteen (15) business days following the date on which the request was answered. This period may be extended for fifteen (15) additional days for adequate reasons, and this situation will be notified to the data holder under the terms of the provisions of Article 97 of the RLFPDPPP. 9)In all cases where the request is appropriate, in accordance with the terms of Articles 32, 33, 34 and 35 of the LFPDPPP, the data will be sent free of charge through the data holder’s email address for said purpose. In case the information should be required to be sent through another form of delivery, payment must be made for the cost of shipping and/or the cost of reproduction of copies or other formats that may be incurred.
