46 yacht for sale

We are offering our much loved and much admired Fisher 46 for sale. Although originally built in 1977, we are only the third owners. We purchased ‘Hawke’ in 2015 and carried out an extensive refit before sailing her down to the Algarve in 2017.

Since then, we and our family and friends have enjoyed cruising the lovely south coast of Iberia until the present. Unfortunately, as we are heading towards our late seventies, we think now is the time to pass ‘Hawke’ on. She is an incredibly safe and seaworthy yacht, with massive internal volume offering 6 berths in 3 separate cabins, a large saloon and galley, 2 heads with showers, a large, bright, and spacious wheelhouse, loads of outside space, and being well capable of sailing anywhere from the tropics to the arctic. She would be well suited to a extended family adventure, an expedition, or, as we have done, simply enjoying boating in some comfort and safety!

General Description

"HAWKE" is a Fisher 46, hull 009, built by Berthon Boat Co. in 1977 for Tony Lapthorn, launched 1978 and named "Hootact" at the time of launch. She was sold in 2003 to her second owner and renamed "Hawke". We purchased "Hawke" in 2015, making us only the third owners, and we carried out an extensive 18 month refit in preparation for our cruise from Ipswich to the Algarve in 2017. Since then, "Hawke" has been based in Portimao and cruised the southern coast of Portugal and Spain.

"Hawke" has a berth in Portimao Marina (the berthing contract runs until April 2025 and will be included in the sale). Those familiar with the Fisher 46 will know that these vessels were based on North Sea fishing boats, and that they were very substantially constructed and have a huge internal volume for their waterline length. The long keel has an 11 ton encapsulated iron ballast casting and the vessel's displacement is approximately 26 tons.
