Robust, elegant and utterly unstoppable, the 78’ (24m) ICE is a proven explorer yacht designed to traverse the northern passage. ICE is capable of carrying 10 guests across five cabins in total comfort and safety. 

True to her name, ICE has an eight-mm-thick ice-capable hull. With her waterline length under 24 meters, she’s capable of certifying for CE Category A — designed specifically according to the Bureau Veritas marine classification rules — designating her as a yacht capable of large sea voyages anywhere. And with a range of approximately 4,000 nautical miles at 10.5 knots, ICE will turn the ocean into your playground. 

Guests will be able to enjoy magnificent views from one of her three decks. Upon entering the aft deck from her swimming platform is a beautifully attired alfresco dining area with seating for up to eight. Above is the skylounge aft, an area close to 20 square meters and housing a 17’ (5.3m) tender hoisted by her boom crane — also capable of reaching out to the swimming platform should her new owner wish to house a few Jet Skis. Upon launching the tender, her four capable crew equip the space with chaise lounges, creating the perfect spot for relaxing under the shade.

In addition, a fully private flybridge with comfortable seating provides an oasis for guests to escape to, and her foredeck, with extra seating and coffee table, is the perfect breakfast nook from which to start the day aboard, overlooking breathtaking vistas and breathing in the fresh ocean air.

Inside, her main salon has plenty of natural light with seating; her two large sofas allow for entertaining and relaxing together. Forward, a dining area hosts up to 10 people, and above, the upper deck lounge offers a cozy seating area. Her stylish interiors feature bleached oak, dark veneers and warm carpet—a nice touch for long voyages in the icy seas for which she was designed. 

Forward on the main deck is the owner’s cabin, located separately from the guest cabins. A queen-size bed is flanked by two nightstands, and an ensuite bathroom forward houses a his-and-hers sink and shower, with floor-to-ceiling storage and a sofa under pretty windows to starboard.

An additional eight guests can be accommodated across three double suites and one bunk cabin. These lower deck quarters are accessible from stairs leading down from the main salon. Each cabin has an ensuite bathroom and plenty of storage. The bunk cabin, located forward to port, would be well-suited for children and/or a nanny and also enjoys an ensuite bathroom. 

ICE is a beautiful example of a modern ice-capable explorer yacht, able to entertain and cruise in total comfort and security. With thoughtful details throughout and plenty of deck space from which to take in the view, she would be a wonderful vehicle from which to discover all corners of the globe.

90 Meter Superyacht ICE Hits Numarine Motoryacht Near Turkish Coast

In a startling maritime incident, the 90.1-meter Lürssen superyacht Ice collided with the 31.1-meter Numarine yacht A.Mey in Yalıkavak, Turkey, on August 30, 2024. The accident occurred close to the coast, where A.Mey was anchored at the time.

Dramatic footage of the collision reveals Ice’s bow striking A.Mey with significant force, causing the smaller yacht to pivot sharply. Preliminary observations indicate severe damage to the aft section of A.Mey. The extent of the damage is still being assessed.

Boaters on the scene suggests Ice may have been unable to reduce its speed due to a potential blockage in the throttle lever. The vessel's close proximity to the shore might have further limited its maneuverability options, making it challenging to navigate safely. Notably, the tender garage door on Ice was open during the collision, which is unusual for a moving vessel in motion.

Ice, launched by German shipyard Lürssen in 2005 and designed by Tim Heywood, won Motor Yacht of the Year at the 2006 World Superyacht Awards.

On a bright sunny day, the 295-foot Lürssen superyacht Ice slammed into an anchored motoryacht in Turkey’s Bodrum Bay. Commissioned by a Russian oligarch, the $125 million mammoth, due to a locked rudder, collided with a pleasure vessel just a third of its size.

90m Lürssen superyacht Ice for sale

The 90.1 metre Lürssen superyacht Ice has been listed for sale by Greg Gheraia of Blackorange Yachts .

Ice was built by Lürssen in 2005 and picked up the award for Superyacht of the Year at the 2006 World Superyacht Awards. Originally known as Air , she was one of the first vessels to be fitted with electrically-powered Azipod propellers. Diesel-electric generators supply power to two azimuth thrusters, which have the added benefit of giving a comfortable, vibration-free ride as well as seriously reducing emissions while underway. 

She was designed throughout by Tim Heywood and sports a minimalist interior by Terence Disdale . Tables and many of the horizontal surfaces were made of limestone, the five bathtubs being carved from solid blocks so large and heavy that the yacht was reportedly built around them.

The master suite is positioned on the main deck forward, together with two VIP or family cabins. Ice is also one of the first superyachts to have her superstructure positioned further forward than usual, to allow for a large helipad aft. She can accommodate up to 14 guests in seven staterooms, with 27 crew members.

Twin generator rooms, with 842kW MWM/Deutz gensets and huge exhaust cleaners, are divided by a walk-through passageway. Emissions and vibrations were reduced to a minimum during the engineering and naval architecture work, developed by Lürssen. 

During sea trials, she reached a top speed of 18.5 knots under her Azipods. This 3,268GT yacht for sale has a range of 5,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 15 knots.

Ice is asking €120,000,000.
