Monaco, 23 October 2024 – Once again, the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) has reaffirmed its status as the world's premier superyacht event, further solidifying its role as an ambassador of Monaco, the capital of yachting.

From September 25 to 28, the show brought together an international clientele of yacht owners, prospective owners, charter clients, and yachting professionals. A total of 29,197 visitors gathered along the quays of Port Hercule, a figure that highlights the growing interest in this unmissable superyacht event and foreshadows the scale of its economic impact on the Principality.

A tailored immersion into the world of yachting The 33rd edition of the MYS showcased a stunning fleet of 120 superyachts, presented by international brokers and shipyards that, as usual, chose the MYS to unveil their new yachts launched in 2024. This year, 46 made their debut at Port Hercule, alongside 15 vessels launched in 2023. More than half of the yachts on display were under two years old, a testament to the dynamism and innovation that define this elite industry. The 2024 MYS also stood out for the diversity and richness of its exhibition spaces, all designed to offer an immersive and unique experience for visitors. The Parvis Piscine tent and the Upper Deck Lounge were dedicated to luxury custom interior design, while the Quai Albert 1er and Darse Sud highlighted technological equipment and sustainable solutions, showcased within the Sustainability Hub. The Dockside area, featuring the superyacht exhibition quays and the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub, was exclusively reserved for private clients on the first day of the show, facilitating yacht tours and privileged contact with shipyards, brokers, and designers. Lastly, the Adventure Area, dedicated to leisure, new destinations, and the yachting lifestyle, showcased a selection of luxury vehicles and 61 tenders along Quai Antoine 1er and Quai Jarlan.

Innovation serving sustainability The 2024 MYS echoed the trends of previous editions, spotlighting the central role of innovation and sustainability in the yachting industry. With 554 companies present, the event provided an exceptional platform for exhibitors to reaffirm their commitment to blending the luxury yachting lifestyle with increasingly stringent environmental responsibilities. A series of 22 conferences, co-organized with Superyacht Times and exhibitors from the Yacht Design & Innovation Hub and the Sustainability Hub, highlighted major trends shaping the future of yachting, such as sustainability, innovation, and personalization. Participants explored various topics, including the transition to alternative propulsion systems, the use of eco-friendly materials, the integration of artificial intelligence on board, and the creation of yachts with a unique brand identity. The challenges of refitting and converting existing yachts were also discussed, emphasizing the need for sustainable and efficient solutions. The MYS team worked to make the show even more responsible, focusing on optimizing energy resources, managing waste responsibly, and reducing transport-related emissions. These efforts reflect the show’s commitment to supporting the evolution of an industry that continues to meet growing ecological demands.

The 2024 edition confirmed MYS as a unique space for yachting clients and a crucial platform for exploring technological, environmental, and societal expectations, contributing to the dynamism of the global superyacht industry.

The Monaco Yacht Show is the world’s leading yacht show. Held on the Mediterranean seaside in Port Hercule, Monaco , it is the largest in-water display of large yachts. An estimated 30,000 people come to see the more than €4.3 billion worth of yachts displayed in the port.

It is known as THE chicest way for billionaires to celebrate the end of summer. The biggest, newest, most innovative and most expensive yachts will be on display in this new edition of the Monaco Yacht Show.

The many superyachts are the center of attraction, but there will also be so much more on offer for the show’s opulent observers. As the quintessential playground for the rich, Monaco Yacht Show continues to impress its billionaire patrons, ensuring their return year after year.

There will always be super speedboats, helicopters, personal submarines, limousines, and luxury cars to see. Hotels, restaurants, and the Casino will also cater to the epicurean needs of the guests.

The ‘Car Deck’ for the exhibits of classic and customized vehicles will display models of the best machinery for connoisseurs’ delight. The ‘Starboard’ is the main exhibition lounge of companies that offer products and services related to the superyacht lifestyle: destinations, luxury products, and arts. In order to make the overall experience clearer to visitors and professionals, a three-category system is used. Discover badges are for yacht clients; Advise badges are for their advisors and consultants, and Connect badges are for trade visitors. The badges will show the profile of each visitor so that the right people can connect on sight. Buyers can therefore identify designers and builders at a glance, whilst their captains and reps can readily find equipment manufacturers, for example.

But for those with regular day passes to the show, you’ll need an appointment and be able to pass a check by the yacht representative to make sure you’re a serious potential buyer or charter customer.

Sapphire VIP Experience

If you’re in the market to buy a yacht and looking for more personalized experiences, ‘ Sapphire Experience ’ VIP tickets include exclusive activities at both the show and in Monaco for superyacht owners, charterers, and potential clients. VIP guests also have access to special courtesy cars provided by the Monaco Yacht Show to drive them around the city during their stay.

Getting your hands on these tickets comes with a premium price tag and you’ll need to get approved — about 80% of applicants for the Sapphire Experience are rejected. The VIP experience is limited to 200 people and only serious yacht-buyers are able to purchase these coveted passes.

Yacht Tours and Parties

Even those who’ve bought tickets won’t be allowed to tour many of the most exclusive yachts, nor attend the evening yacht parties, without being invited by the yacht companies and brokers.
