Landyachtz Longboards

Landyachtz has emerged as one of the most accomplished skateboard manufacturer in the world, regularly topping lists of the top longboard brands and the most sought-after longboards for riders.

About Landyachtz

Landyachtz produced their first board before the turn of the millennium. Born in the mountains of North Vancouver, there was a clear demand for a more durable (and faster) solution to tackle those downhill routes. As with most successful companies born out of necessity, they had no idea where the road would take them: to new heights and, of course, new slopes.

The results are clear. Landyachtz has gone from just the basics to producing some of the most sought-after sets and individual completes around. Landyachtz Chief Cruiser

5 out o f 5 stars

This board is constructed with 7-ply bamboo and maple and has a classic cruiser shape. The moderate flex of the board keeps you from getting tired too quickly, which makes it the perfect board for beach cruising and general commuting. It’s also equipped with premium components like grizzly bear trucks, hawgs, mini monster wheels, and bear spaceball bearings.

The price range for this board is $160 to $175, and it’s available on  Amazon. The customers on the site gave it a perfect 5-star rating.

Landyachtz Switch Longboard Complete

This next model is great for both beginner and expert riders. It has 9-ply maple and a dropped platform. The design is low to the ground making it stable and a breeze to push while riding. This model is ideal for commuting and can help boarders get around with ease and comfort. The two-inch drop also helps you to learn new slides with ease.

The cost is between $200 and $250. It’s available on  Amazon  and the customers who bought this board also gave it a 5-star rating.

Landyachtz Ripper Longboard

4.1 out o f 5 stars

The Landyachtz ripper is a comfortable carving cruiser that provides a superb riding experience. It’s 37 inches in length and has a rocker profile and kick tail. Furthermore, it comes equipped with mini-monster hawg wheels, bear grizzly 852, and bear space ball bearings.

You can purchase this board on  Amazon  at a price range of $165 to $185. Customers rated it 4.1 out of 5 stars. However, one  reviewer stated that she felt the board was too tall.

Landyachtz Longboards vs. Other Brands

We’ve had a lot of good things to says about Landyachtz, but other brands have some pretty decent boards as well. We wanted to make sure we provided an array of products so that you can choose the one that’s best for you.

Atom Drop-Through 41-inch

4.5 out o f 5 stars

This board is an ultra-low riding longboard that provides ultimate stability which makes it ideal for downhill carving. It has a maple laminate deck with reverse kingpin longboard trucks and 245-millimeter (mm) axles. The ease of pushing decreases the wear and tear and makes commuting a breeze.

The cost ranges from $90 to $100 on  Amazon , and it comes with a limited one-year manufacturer’s warranty. Amazon customers rated it 4.5 out of 5 stars. However, there were some dissatisfied customers. One  user stated that the bushings began to fall apart after using the board only a few times.

Yocaher Professional Speed Drop Down Stained Complete Longboard

3.8 out o f 5 stars

The Yocaher brand is pretty affordable, and it’s ideal for professional longboard riders. It has 9-ply maple and a 33-inch wheelbase. The drop-down deck provides passengers with a lower center of gravity, which increases the maneuverability. Since it has no flex, the drop down can perform at high speeds, and it’s great for downhill riding. The trucks on this board are top-mounted and have cutouts around the nose and tail to reduce the risk of wheel bite.

You can purchase this longboard for approximately $65 to $80 on  Amazon , and the customers on the site have given it 3.8 out of 5 stars. Unfortunately, one  reviewer said his board broke after just three months of use.

Minority Donwhill Maple Longboard 40-inch

4.2 out o f 5 stars

This longboard is another model that’s good for someone who wants a nice board without paying a hefty price. The deck has 100 percent maple wood, and it’s designed with a classic downhill drop. Plus, its low gravity construction works wells for any speed. The cold pressed 8-ply maple with 37-inch wheelbase helps to give riders stability on a downhill platform. The seven-inch reversible kingpin trucks are adjustable so that you can get maximum maneuverability.

The price range for this board is $50 to $60, and  Amazon  customers rated it 4.2 out of 5 stars. However, one  reviewer noted that it bent in the middle and scraped the pavement.

Playshion 39-inch Drop Freestyle Longboard

4.7 out o f 5 stars

Playshion is an excellent start longboard for kids and adults. Its eight-ply hardwood maple deck comes equipped with a flat and symmetrical design that provides versatility. The wheels are polyurethane which makes them both soft and durable for easy commuting. This is the ideal board for freeride cruising, sliding, and curving but it’s not a good board to use for tricks.

The price ranges between $60 and $85 on  Amazon , and the customers on the site rated it 4.7 out of 5 stars. However, one  user stated the grip tape on the board began to bubble less than a week of having it.

Here’s What We Think

Each board highlighted in this article is awesome in its own way, so choosing the best one was difficult. Plus, all of these brands have great ratings, which made our decision much harder. With that said, we couldn’t pick one specific model, but we do think that the Landyachtz longboards have the best quality. After researching the company and looking over all of their boards, we couldn’t ignore how high-quality their products are. And it also helps that people who absolutely love boarding comprise the company itself.

On the other hand, we do feel that their boards might be too pricey for some people. If that’s the case, other brands make great boards with a more affordable price tag. We believe that a less expensive product doesn’t necessarily mean it is low quality. Our decision was tough, but we know everyone has specific things they look for in their longboards. DESCRIPTION

The Clark is a large double-kick board that measures 40.2″ long by 9.5″ wide and is designed to rip an any type of terrain you can imagine. This board is pressed from 8 plies of Canadian Maple to ensure that it is stiff and durable enough to handle whatever you can throw at it. Clark wanted this board to be equally capable on TKP and RKP trucks so there are two wheelbase options at the back to make sure the tail is super functional and poppy on either Polar Bears or Grizzlies. The complete comes set up with Polar Bear 130s for great all-round performance out of the box and 63mm 78a Fatty Hawgs for a fast-rolling and plush ride.

Some of us still like to ride a board that is a bit on the narrower-side. And, of course, you need trucks to match it. If you step down in board size then it’s time to step it up to the 130mm Polar Bears. Sold in pairs. Bushings: 85a is softer, 90a is harder. Softer bushings are more lively but less stable – with 88a being what we usually use in our completes.

63mm Fatty Hawgs

Made famous as the wheel of choice for our Dinghy completes, Fatty Hawgs are now available separately in a multitude of colours and patterns so you can upgrade your cruiser board today. We use the highest quality urethane to ensure these are the best cruiser wheels available on the market. Get a set and see the difference for yourself.

 Spaceballs are our answer to all of your bearing problems.  Never again can you lose your washers, or spacers because we’ve built them into the inner race!  On the functional side, this means your bearings are always mated correctly which negates any bearing-induced chatter. 

Orders are currently leaving our warehouses within 1 – 3 business days. For us, “business days” means Monday – Friday as we do not ship orders on weekends. From Monday to Friday our hours of operation are 9am – 5pm PST, excluding statutory holidays. Order processing times are subject to change and orders may ship out later (or earlier) than the aforementioned window – depending on how busy we are.

USA:  Free Shipping on orders above $125*. Express/Expedited shipping is available at an additional cost.

• West Coast*  – all orders shipped ground, average transit time is 2-3 days.
• East Coast* –  all orders shipped express from our LA warehouse, transit time is usually around 5-7 days.

REST OF THE WORLD:  Live rates based on destination.  Customers are responsible for any local taxes, duties and customs clearance fees on their order.

At Landyachtz we have always aimed to improve the quality of the skateboard you ride and we strongly believe in the boards we make. You can rest assured knowing that, in the rare case of defect, our skateboards come with a 1 year warranty.  

The more we know, the easier it is to help your claim!  The best way to submit your warranty claim is using the form below .   There you can provide all of the necessary information and images we require to assess  your warrant y  claim. Before completing the form please ensure you have photos that show the top and bottom of the board as well as detailed pictures of the affected area.

Please allow us 3-7 business days for us to asses your warranty claim and get in contact with you. We will do our best to make sure you’re back on a quality skateboard as soon as possible.

The   following issues are not covered by our warranty:

• Impact damage, including snaps and cracks
• Run over by a vehicle (or horse)
• Scratches or minor chips
• Water damage

Flex Ratings

We’ve categorized the stiffness of our boards into 3 main groups, listed below.  The general rule is the faster you’re skating, the stiffer the deck, but this is not universal.

Flexy – Soft and supple flex profile best suited for carving and cruising on longer boards. The bouncy nature of these decks lets you turn deeper and surf your surrounds.

Medium – The do it all of our boards, a perfect balance of stability and carve. 

Stiff – From cruisers to downhill boards a stiff flex profile excels in stability and responsiveness.  Whether you’re dipping into driveways or bombing a mountain pass you’ll be down with the stiffness.
