This boat comes with no documentation - all lost in a fire elsewhere. We will provide a Declaration of good Title upon purchase. There is no tax/VAT documentation.

Her current berth at Newhaven costs around £700 pcm and she must vacate by October.

This Comanche 32 presents a great opportunity to the DIY enthusiast or boat builder to secure ownership of a 32 foot Catamaran and through its refurbishment make the vessel your own.

Most electrical, electronic and mechanical systems on board will require test, repair, and or replacement.

She presents the impression of being strongly built with all of the standing rigging and deck components needed to get her sailing again, seemingly in place.

Furniture and internal fixings are of quality hardwood, however the hull has been submerged which has left its legacy on most surfaces, lockers and other voids with some associated damage.

The engine has not been started since the vessel's submergence, however it looks like it could be viable for repair.

SALE PENDING AS OF 6/28/20 S/V Cadenza is a US Coast Guard documented Comanche 32 Deluxe Catamaran built by Sailcraft Ltd. in Essex England. Using only materials certified for marine use by Loyd’s of London. This boat is as solid as they come. Not a mass production boat The 13.10” beam allows her to fit in a standard slip or be trucked cross country. With 3.3” draft on twin beach-able keels and protected skeg hung rudders she is a coastal and Island cruisers dream. This boat was based out of Miami for many years and has been sailed extensively through the Bahamas. This is the big sister to the very popular Iroquois and they upgraded many things with this design. Very respected builder in Europe. Opportunity for a very nice affordable pocket Catamaran

Equipment: Many upgrades since 2017 such as new windows all around and 2 additional Vetus opening hatches in forward windows of main salon. New interior salon cushions with zippered covers. New bunk mattresses. New custom Marinemat cockpit flooring. Engel 12v & 110v Fridge/freezer. Garmin 741xs chart plotter / depth, All LED interior lighting. Added custom powder coated aluminum arch with 6’ x 2’ platform and adjustable solar panel mount. 4ea 6v Duracell GC2 house batteries in series parallel to 12v. 1 ea Everstart deep cycle marine battery dedicated to starboard engine. Power supplied by 2 Yamaha 9.9 High thrust outboards with electric start and power tilt. Starboard engine mounted on a custom built fixed aluminum mount and has remote electric steering for confined space maneuvering. New fuel tanks and fuel lines and fittings and filter Bottom was completely resurfaced with 3 barrier coats then 2 full coats and a third at the waterline of Pettit Trinidad Pro, Hard paint in May 2017. Bottom cleaned and inspected monthly by professional dive company. paint is now in good condition.

Hull Speed = 1.34 x √LWL

Max Speed/Length ratio = 8.26 ÷ Displacement/Length ratio .311 Hull Speed = Max Speed/Length ratio x √LWL

Sail Area / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the power of the sails relative to the weight of the boat. The higher the number, the higher the performance, but the harder the boat will be to handle. This ratio is a "non-dimensional" value that facilitates comparisons between boats of different types and sizes. Read more.

SA/D = SA ÷ (D ÷ 64) 2/3

• SA : Sail area in square feet, derived by adding the mainsail area to 100% of the foretriangle area (the lateral area above the deck between the mast and the forestay).
• D : Displacement in pounds.

Ballast / Displacement Ratio

A measure of the stability of a boat's hull that suggests how well a monohull will stand up to its sails. The ballast displacement ratio indicates how much of the weight of a boat is placed for maximum stability against capsizing and is an indicator of stiffness and resistance to capsize.

A measure of the weight of the boat relative to it's length at the waterline. The higher a boat’s D/L ratio, the more easily it will carry a load and the more comfortable its motion will be. • D: Displacement of the boat in pounds.
• LWL: Waterline length in feet

Comfort Ratio

This ratio assess how quickly and abruptly a boat’s hull reacts to waves in a significant seaway, these being the elements of a boat’s motion most likely to cause seasickness. Read more.

Comfort ratio = D ÷ (.65 x (.7 LWL + .3 LOA) x Beam 1.33 )

• D: Displacement of the boat in pounds

• Beam: Width of boat at the widest point in feet

Prout catamarans (UK) have have a history going back 50 years, with a reputation for tough, high quality, popular design and excellent ocean going capability. Roland and Francis Prout were successful canoeists who paddled for Great Britain in the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games. Soon after, they decided to tie two of their sleek cold-moulded kayaks together with bamboo poles resulting in an efficient high-speed sailing craft. The Prout business grew from those successful experiments in 1954 to the most famous and well respected catamaran producing company in the world, picking up a ‘Queens award for industry’ along the way. In 1964 it was a Prout catamaran that became the first multi-hull to circumnavigate the globe.

There were more Prout catamarans circumnavigating the world than any other design at one time. All Prout catamarans are designed and constructed by yachtsmen to combine technology with traditional boat building skills. Prout Catamarans was the first boat builder in the UK to receive Lloyds ISO 9002 quality standard recognition. Prout prides themselves in keeping in touch with owners through an excellent after-sales service and a strong owners association.

Prout 45 (Florida)

Lovely example of a classic Prout Catamaran. Privately owned and never chartered, this catamaran is a three cabin owners’ version. The owners’ suite is to starboard. 

The 45S Prout incorporates heavy duty Keels on each hull that protects the boat from groundings, protects the propellers and rudders, and allows the boat to beached for maintenance! 

This Catamaran is set up for extended and independent cruising and live aboard with the addition of 2800watts of solar panels, Relion Lithium Batteries, 300ft of main anchor chain, 2- life rafts, custom extended (2′) sugar scoops, all new AC’s and electronics, new Running rigging, etc.…

Prout 45 (Grenada)

S/V Mirounga is a 1997 Prout 45 three/four berth owner’s Version catamaran for sale by owner. She was designed to be the ultimate ocean-cruising catamaran in comfort and safety. Designed by David Feltham and built from 1995 by Prout Catamarans on Canvey Island. She is solid fiberglass under the waterline, cored above the waterline, with Kevlar reinforcement. The original Prout Catamarans are renowned for their safety, load-carrying capabilities, reliability, ease of handling and comfort, and were designed for long-term liveaboard cruising and ocean passages.
