How To Become A Yacht Deckhand

If you are wondering how to become a Yacht Deckhand, then look no further.

Having been in the industry for 10 years, I know that becoming a Deckhand with no experience can be challenging.

My goal is to equip you with the knowledge and resources to secure your first job on a super yacht, regardless of your prior experience.

Table of Contents

What is a Deckhand?

A Deckhand is an entry-level role on a yacht, and their main responsibility is the maintenance and cleanliness of the exterior of the yacht.

As a Deckhand gains experience onboard a vessel they can work their way towards becoming the Lead Deckhand, Bosun, Chief Officer, and ultimately the Captain.

What is the Salary Range of a Yacht Deckhand?

The question of how to become a Yacht Deckhand is usually followed by what they earn.

A starting yacht based salary for a Deckhand can range from $2500 – $3500 depending on factors such as the size of the yacht and your qualifications and experience.

Additionally, if you work on a charter yacht you can expect to see tips of about $2000-$5000 per week of chartering.

Another important factor to consider is longevity onboard. Boats tend to reward longevity so on some vessels you can expect annual increases.

Roles and Responsibilities of a Yacht Deckhand

The primary role of a Yacht Deckhand is to clean and maintain the exterior of the Yacht. This can include a wide range of tasks such as:

  • scrubbing teak
  • equipment maintenance

In addition to cleaning and maintenance, a Deckhand will also assist with:

  • mooring operations
  • tender operations
  • guest activities
  • water sports
  • bridge lookout
  • any assistance required in the daily operations of the yacht.

Mandatory Qualifications for Becoming a Yacht Deckhand

If you are looking to become a superyacht Deckhand, you will need to have an STCW Certification and pass an ENG1 medical.

The STCW (Standards of Training and Certification of Watch keeping) is an internationally mandated course and a minimum requirement for anyone who wishes to work on a yacht. During the training, crew members will learn basic safety skills and acquire knowledge to effectively handle emergency situations onboard. The training will also cover basic safe working practices to ensure the safety of all crew members.

In 2010 the STCW convention added a new module requirement to the basic safety training, so ensure that you do the additional Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA) module which takes one extra day.

This STCW course is comprised of 4 modules, takes 5 days to complete, and is valid for 5 years. The modules include:

  • Personal Survival Techniques (PST)
  • Fire Fighting and prevention (FFP)
  • Elementary First Aid (EFA)
  • Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (PSSR)

2 yacht deckhands dressed in fire suits and using a fire hose over the side of a boat

An ENG1 is a basic medical examination carried out by an MCA (Maritime Coastguard Agency) certified doctor, confirming that you are in a fit condition to work on a yacht.

Without passing this medical check, you will not be able to work on a yacht as a Deckhand.

Ensure you book your medical with an MCA-approved doctor .

Recommended Additional Courses for Becoming a Deckhand on a Yacht

It is important to note that the required deckhand qualifications may vary depending on the size and type of the Super Yacht and the flag state under which it operates.

Some super yachts may have additional requirements beyond the ones mentioned above.

Proficiency in Designated Security Duties (PDSD)

The PSA course has already been completed as a minimum requirement in your STCW course. However, crew members given designated security duties under the ship’s security plan must complete this PDSD course.

This requirement is for vessels that fall under the ISPS code (International Ship and Port Facility Security Code).

Power Boat Level 2

This yacht deckhand course is essential if you are seeking a qualification to operate yacht tenders. Doing this course is also the foundation for what you will be learning in courses to come as you climb the ranks and gain more certifications.

Another equivalent course is the IYT Small Powerboat & Rib Master which is also recognized by the MCA.

In this 2-day course, you will learn:

  • Basic collision avoidance regulations
  • Basic navigation, actions in emergencies
  • Safety equipment
  • Boat handling skills
  • Berthing alongside
  • Turning in a confined space
  • Man-overboard drills

VHF Short Range Radio Course

The VHF radios are used on a vessel for communication between the main vessel and small crafts, other vessels, or land-based authorities within the area.

Therefore, if you have crew or guests out on the tender or beach, or if your vessel is coming into port, you will be using the VHF radio to communicate.

This is a required course for some of your upcoming certifications, so it is advisable to get it done now. It is also legally required to obtain this certificate on certain vessels if you are a crew member who will be using VHF communication.

In this one-day course, you will learn the correct voice procedure, the GMDSS system, the phonetic alphabet, emergency calls, and the DSC controller

Personal Watercraft License (PWC)

A personal watercraft refers to the Wave runners and Jet skis of a vessel. If you want to become a Yacht Deckhand, certain cruising areas will require you to hold this license in order to operate the Jet skis. Therefore it is recommended that all Deck crew members hold this license.

In this one-day course you will learn:

  • Recovery skills
  • Passage planning
  • Decision-making
  • High and low-speed riding skills
  • Essential safety information
  • Collision avoidance
  • Orientation at sea

Recommended Courses to Consider as You Climb the Ranks

Mca yacht rating.

The Yacht Rating Certificate is required by Yacht Crew members to be part of the safe manning requirements of the vessel. There are 2 ways to attain this certificate as per the application form :

1. With a training record book

Applications for a Yacht Rating Certificate require at least 6 months yacht service, including 2 months actual sea service on vessels over 15m in load line length plus a completed Yacht Rating Training Record Book .

2. Complete a course

If you choose to complete a course, successful candidates will receive a Course Completion Certificate. They will then apply to the MCA, and obtain the MCA Yacht Rating Certificate after completing two months of sea service on vessels of over 15m in load line length. Course choices include:

  • Watch Leader Certificate together with an RYA Competent Crew Certificate
  • Day Skipper Certificate with an RYA Competent Crew Certificate and/or higher RYA Certificate
  • Yacht Rating Course Completion Certificate

The benefit of holding this certificate is that it informs Captains that you have advanced deck skills. Additionally, this course is a good introduction for students who want to do the EDH (Efficient Deckhand Course).

This 5-day Training Course Covers:

  • Navigational Watch Duties
  • Life-Saving and Fire Fighting Equipment
  • Code of Safe Working Practices
  • Engine Watch Keeping Duties
  • Pollution Prevention
  • Knots, Bends, and Hitches
  • Whipping and splicing
  • International Safe Management Code
  • Rules of the Road
  • Lights and IALA A and B Buoyage system

a female standing at the helm station of the bridge of a yacht

Efficient Deckhand Course (EDH)

The importance of obtaining this certificate when you meet the pre-requisites is that you need to hold your EDH for 18 months before you can start your OOW course.

The Efficient Deckhand (EDH) course covers basic seamanship, tying of knots, and advanced rope work such as whipping, splicing, and rigging. It also teaches maintenance routines, steering, duties of the lookout, and the responsibilities of crew members under the Code of Safe Working Practices for Merchant Seamen.

This course is taught over 4 days with an oral and practical examination on the last day. I recommend you arrive with the ability to tie most of the standard nautical knots in order to get through the syllabus.

The pre-requisite for the course is to hold a Yacht rating with 6 months of seagoing service and a steering certificate.

Update your Yachting CV

It is crucial to have an impressive Yacht CV that catches the attention of the Captain and motivates them to read it thoroughly.

You may be wondering how to become a Yacht Deckhand without any prior experience. You will be competing with numerous crew members who may have an edge over you with their courses and experience.

Follow my Yacht CV guidelines to highlight your skills and attributes that will make you a standout candidate for the job.

Locate Yourself in a Yachting Hub and Apply for Deckhand Jobs

When you go dock walking , be sure to do your research before heading out. Take into account factors such as the time of year and port control regulations.

Some locations to consider include:

The best time of year to seek work in America would be starting in October for the Caribbean Season .

Please note that it is ILLEGAL to dock walk in America unless you are an American Citizen or green card holder. Fort Lauderdale is the best place to be based if you are legally allowed to dockwalk.

If you are looking to find work on a yacht for the Mediterranean yachting season , you should head over in March.

In Italy, you want to head to Monaco, Genoa, Loana, Imperia, or San Remo

In the South of France, Antibes is your best option, but others you could try are Toulon, Nice, Cannes, and La Ciotat.

If you head to Spain, you want to be based in Palma de Mallorca or Barcelona.

Sign up with Yacht Crew Agencies

You will want to sign up with as many crew agencies as possible if you want to become a Deckhand on a Yacht.

Here are some popular agencies you should sign up with to get started:

  • Luxury Yacht Group
  • Blue Water Yachting
  • The Crew Network
  • Cotton Crews

Job role of a Superyacht Deckhand

The deckhand position will encompass many responsibilities, but most importantly, he/she will maintain the exterior of the yacht and keep it in pristine condition at all times.

Covering everything from the windows to sporting equipment, from changing sun lounger covers to varnishing the guard rails. You will also help with mooring and tender handling.

You could be the only deckhand on board, but on larger superyachts there may be as many as five or more deckhands working.

The deckhand’s role is incredibly varied, tasks include;

  • Fibreglass restoration
  • Line handling
  • General exterior maintenance
  • Driving tenders

Personality traits

Working onboard a superyacht means you’ll have to demonstrate a professional, hardworking attitude at all times. You will need to be motivated to complete all tasks to the high standard expected. Typically your working day will start early, and finish late, so you’ll need to be energetic, enthusiastic and physically fit.

Skills required to become a superyacht deckhand

Deckhands do not have to have boating qualifications but having them is an asset. General seafaring skills are expected. Deckhands should ideally have some knowledge and experience of navigation, boat handling, engines and radio equipment. Any skills or experience in any of the above mentioned tasks would be a distinct advantage.

But if you’ve never worked on a yacht before, it doesn’t mean that you are unsuitable for consideration. Captains hire crew with a variety of backgrounds, such as, hospitality and hotels, tour leaders, cruise lines, graduates, engineers, mechanics, divers and anyone who can prove they have a good work ethic and a willingness to learn. If you’re interested in gaining a deckhand qualification, check our our superyacht deckhand course .

What Our Students Say

“I have been on a Superyacht for six months and I absolutely love it! The crew is great and the owners are wonderful. We left Florida two weeks ago and we are on a three month trip over to California! We made a stop in Cuba and the owners invited all of the crew to go on day trips with the guests to sight see! Now we are in the Cayman Islands. From here we head through the Panama Canal and then we go to Panama City, Papagallo Peninsula Costa Rica then Cabo San Lucas, before we end up to Southern California. This is such a great experience for me. I do stewardess work, cook for crew and guests, handle lines when docking and leaving as well as watch shifts while we’re underway. I just wanted to say thanks again for all the valuable training I received in my classes! Thank you!”

Jessica Benway – Stewardess

“I am so excited!!! I went for my first interview yesterday afternoon at an agency and got a call from them later on advising that they’d put me forward for a 2nd stewardess position and to expect a call from the captain. He rang this morning and we met at Starbucks and… they are flying me up on Friday! It’s happened so fast, but it felt right. The yacht is currently in Norfolk, Virginia and we will be heading out very soon to spend the season in New England. The captain was really laid back and very forthcoming. Apparently the yacht is privately owned by a wealthy guy (obviously) and isn’t chartered out very often. Mostly they do cocktail parties. He thinks we will be in the Mediterranean next year although he is waiting on confirmation from the owner. The pace on the yacht seems very relaxed. It will be a great place for me to learn as much as possible. I am so keen to get started. Thank you!”

Carlie – Stewardess

“Everything is going GREAT for me over here! We have travelled from Fort Lauderdale all the way along the East Coast up to Labrador, Canada over 4000 miles so far. My roster is split so I spend the first part of the day as a deckhand and the second part of the day as the second stewardess onboard a 154 foot SuperYacht. The owners are fantastic. I really enjoyed the interior crew course and feel so much more prepared for my stewardess role.”

Katie Ford – Stewardess and Deckhand

“I was totally impressed by the STCW training I received at the Superyacht Crew Academy. The instructors were excellent, the equipment top notch, and I truly feel confident that I would perform well in the case of an emergency aboard ship. Thank you Chris and Deb for being so helpful to me. As a foreign student coming to Australia for this training, your kindness was extra meaningful. I am now a Superyacht Agent in Noumea and spend a lot of time aboard superyachts. Even though I am not a member of the crews, my STCW training is right there in the back of my mind just in case there was an emergency; especially when refuelling, helping resupply the medical equipment or moving heavy equipment on and off the superyachts.”

Chloe Morin – Super yacht Agent Noumea Ocean Services

“You are by far the most professional and successful training facility that I have dealt with around the world. Keep up the amazing work!”

Nick Smith – Chief Officer M/Y Akula

“A big thank you for your professionalism to all people from the Superyacht Crew Academy. Your team really made this experience unforgettable.”

Laurent Dreyer – Fastrack Graduate

“My experience with Superyacht Crew Academy was amazing. I had a fantastic time on the deck crew course and learnt a lot more than I expected.”

Tom Armstrong – Deckhand

“In my first interview I got offered a job! I really liked the chief stewardess so I am on a 43m private Superyacht for the season. I have been on the boat for two weeks and so far all is going well. I am looking forward to a good season and I will be home for Christmas. Two other people who did the course with me, Emily and Adam also got jobs very easily! Thank you again for all of your support and giving us a great head start!”

Ashtyn Leary – Stewardess

“The instructors were excellent, very professional and thorough. My training at Superyacht Crew Academy made my job as stewardess aboard the Tango possible and enjoyable. It really helps to have the inside story from experts before you begin. I’m happy to recommend the Superyacht Crew Academy to anyone interested in working in this industry.”

Haley – Stewardess M/Y Tango

“I just wanted to say thank you to the staff at Superyacht Crew Academy. I am currently working on a 43m M/Y Eclipse which is situated in Israel during the winter and the Mediterranean in the summer. I am heading into my third week here, now crossing to Genoa, Italy for the boat show. I am a 3rd stewardess and loving it. We are now in Kotor in Montenegro near Croatia and it is absolutely stunning. I am loving my job and have been lucky enough to rotate with duties and will be doing service this week, in a few hours actually. Thank you for all your help!”

Lauren A – Stewardess

” I thought I would give you a quick update on my adventures. I’ve just finished a cruise on an expedition vessel and am back in Antibes looking for a new position as a stewardess. Thank you for the casual work experience I did while completing my interior course. It’s definitely a lot better now that I have the right qualifications and some experience. I’m finding that there is so much more available to me.”

Natasha Harris – Stewardess

“Thank you for all the help and support that you gave me when i was studying with you. it was amazing and I will no doubt be visiting again hopefully at the end of next year when I come to do my Yacht Master OffShore. The Boat has offered me an awesome opportunity to learn all there is to learn as well as an awesome salary, benefits, and program. Not to mention the crew are a happy bunch of people and we are like a large family…. I have learned that the crew makes the boat and that is the main thing, not the salary, benefits or program!”

NTA PhD Entrance Exam Pattern 2024

NTA PhD Entrance Exam Pattern 2024 introduced significant changes for prestigious institutions like Delhi University (DU), Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU). These changes revolve around the mode of examination, medium of question papers, structure of question papers, subjects, and the marking scheme.

  • Mode of Examination: This year, the Ph.D. entrance tests for DU, JNU, BHU, and BBAU will exclusively be conducted in the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. This shift to CBT is aimed at enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of the examination process.
  • Medium of Question Papers: With the exception of the Ph.D. Entrance Test for various language programs, all examinations for DU, JNU, BHU, and BBAU in 2024 will be conducted solely in the English language. This standardization in the medium of instruction ensures uniformity and fairness in evaluating candidates.
  • Structure of Question Papers: The structure of the Ph.D. entrance test question papers for these institutions in 2024 is outlined as follows:
  • Each question paper will comprise two sections:

Section 1: Research Methodology Section 2: Subject-specific

  • All questions in the question papers will be in English, except for language papers.
  • Candidates must answer all questions, as all questions are mandatory.
  • The duration of the examination is set at 3 hours (180 minutes).
  • Candidates are permitted to select a maximum of three courses, with one course per time slot, following the provided timetable.
  • Subjects and Sections: The subjects in these entrance examinations are now categorized into coherent subject combinations, each featuring a common Research Methodology Section (Section 1). Section 2 will be specialized to the specific domain of study, providing candidates with a focused assessment relevant to their chosen field.

NTA PhD Entrance Exam 2024: Marking Scheme

Solar Flare Up: Systemic Organizational Risk in the Residential Solar Industry

The concept of systemic organizational risk is critically important in corporate governance. A systemic risk is one in which the system itself — through its incentives, structure, and culture — encourages or fails to detect behavior contrary to what is intended by those who developed or manage the system.

To illustrate the potential for systemic organizational risk to arise, we consider the curious case of the residential solar industry, in which complex financing, generous tax credits, generous sales commissions, and uncertain costs — coupled with widespread public interest in the adoption of solar — have combined to create an incredibly complex industry with multiple points of potential breakdown.

  • What information might the director of a residential solar company seek to understand whether the company is appropriately managing its exposure to risk?
  • What steps can the board take to ensure that leadership and control functions are properly monitoring risk?
  • How should the board structure incentives (compensation and otherwise) to decrease risk?
  • What expertise — in terms of finance, accounting, tax, and legal — is required at the board level to adequately oversee company practices?

In all the Below Deck franchises, the deckhands have been seen doing a lot of work, while balancing out a lot of play. But the ones who are the best prioritize the boat over a boatmance. The life of a yachtie is not for everyone, but these deckhands proved that maybe they could continue up the ranks. For this list, we will look at the deckhands who were not in a management position. These are the best deckies from the exterior team across the Below Deck universe.

Below Deck is a beloved Bravo series that has launched four spin-off series. From the Caribbean to the Med, Below Deck has taken viewers around the world , providing stunning views while the drama occurs below deck. Documenting the onboard work and off-charter antics, Below Deck has been going strong since 2013. With no signs of stopping, it's time to step aboard and praise the men and women who kept the boat afloat.

10 Harry Van Vleit

'below deck down under,' season 2.

How could you not adore Harry Van Vliet ? The second season of Below Deck Down Under had some tumultuous moments regarding sexual harassment allegations. Yet, Harry Van Vliet was not only a reliable deckhand, he was just a super sweet and kind person. Harry had a bit of a crush on stew Margot Sisson.

Harry was a safe place for Margot during her difficult time on board.

As much as she didn't reciprocate those feelings, viewers cheered Harry on, hoping he might win the girl in the end. Harry was a safe place for Margot during her difficult time on board. Harry Van Vliet left Season 2 as a fan favorite, and rightly so.

Watch On Apple TV

9 Culver Bradbury

'below deck down under,' seasons 1 and 2.

Nobody's perfect. Especially Culver Bradbury . Culver first came to prominence during the first season of Below Deck Down Under . He was unofficially known as the "Chief Entertainment Officer," often ensuring the guest experience was always lively. Whether it was with a costume or silly antics, Culver would go above and beyond the job description.

He left the first season as a fan favorite, so when he made a return mid-season during Season 2, fans were overjoyed to see him. But the fun-loving Culver from Season 1 was not the same Culver of Season 2. He didn't have the best work ethic under replacement Boson João Franco , though, to be fair, Joāo is not always the easiest to get along with. He did lead-on some of the ladies on board, but that was nothing new when it came to Below Deck . Whether he was the best deckhand or not, Culver is still a beloved character in the Below Deck Cinematic Universe.

8 Connie Arias

'below deck' season 3.

Connie Arias was the gift that kept on giving during Season 3 of Below Deck . Connie was an exceptional worker. She had strong bonds with her fellow exterior team, making working on board motoryacht Eros a breeze. You can't judge a book by its cover because Connie defies that. She may look demure and innocent, but her hilarious antics on board were anything but.

She loved to show some skin whenever possible. If there was an opportunity to take off her clothes and replace them with whipped cream, she took it! She was the comic relief of the group and fit in as "one of the guys." When it came to work on deck, she was a hard worker and well-rounded. Fans were desperate for more Connie, but sadly, she was only part of the Below Deck crew for a single season.

Follows the crew of a multi million dollar charter boat in the Caribbean.

7 Nico Scholly

'below deck' seasons 4 and 5.

Hard work and determination can get people to the top. For Nico Scholly , that's exactly what happened. Appearing in back-to-back seasons of the flagship series, Nico was a hardworking deckhand who dreamed of becoming Boson . Nico had a charm about him that had fans gravitate toward him. Nico's journey on Below Deck was filled with balancing work with some difficult personal issues.

Viewers learned of the passing of Nico's brother, something he was trying to cope with. He also ended breaking up with his long-distance girlfriend before engaging in a boatmance with stew Brianna Adekey . Nico dreamed of being the man in charge, but during both of his seasons, he was only given the role of senior or lead deckhand. When a temporary Boson arrived during Season 5, Nico was frustrated, feeling passed over. But his hard work paid off as Captain Lee Rosbach gave him his epaulets at the end of the charter season.

6 Mzi "Zee" Dempers

'below deck mediterranean' seasons 6 and 7.

No one was ever kinder than Below Deck Mediterranean 's incredible Mzi "Zee" Dempers . Always with a smile on his face, Zee was eager to learn and grow, proving that he was a beneficial asset to the exterior team. When Mzi made the jump to work on a megayacht, it was a drastic change from his previous work. No matter the challenge, Mzi was up to it. He formed an incredibly close friendship with Courtney Veale , who served as a stew during Season 6 and a deckhand during Season 7.

When she was given the lead deckhand role, he was there to support her, like a great friend should. Captain Sandy Yawn admired Mzi's growth as a person and a yachtie. While Mzi was present for a lot of drama on board, he kept himself out of the drama as best he could. Even if stew Lexi Wilson came at him. In the end, Mzi left as a fan-favorite and that's all that matters!

5 Izzy Wouters

'below deck' season 8.

When Izzy Wouters was first hired for Below Deck Season 8, she was a part of the interior team. Having skills in both interior and exterior, Izzy wasn't feeling fully realized working inside. So, when there was an opening on the exterior team, Izzy jumped on the situation and became a deckhand.

It was something she excelled at, being promoted to Lead Deckhand toward the end of the season. Izzy's work-ethic was unmatched, which helped to prove her worth to Boson Eddie Lucas and Captain Lee Rosbach . Following the season, Izzy came out , gaining support from her crew and fans. While she only lasted a season, she was one of the best deckies the show has seen.

4 Colin Macy-O'Toole

'below deck mediterranean' seasons 3 and 4.

Colin Macy-O'Toole was a mama's boy and the kind of guy you want to be your best friend. He's a shoulder to cry on, a close confidant, and an all-around great guy. With little experience in yachting, Colin arrived to the Med as a captain of a ferry boat that chartered guests to the infamous Fire Island in New York. With such an affable personality, Colin was able to be a soothing presence around the bigger personalities onboard.

While he didn't engage in any major boatmances during his two seasons on Below Deck Mediterranean , Colin did develop a slight crush on stew Brook Laughton , but when Joāo Franco swooped in, Colin took a step back and let them deal with their dramatic relationship. With his focus on his job, Captain Sandy Yawn saw something special in him, allowing him to take the helm on occasion.

3 Ross Inia

'below deck' season 6.

Despite an off-camera incident , everything on screen during Season 6 of Below Deck was positive. Ross Inia was a strong deckhand who stepped up to fill the Boson position following the firing of Chandler Brooks . Ross proved his worth as a hard-worker, taking no nonsense from anyone. Especially deckhand Rhylee Gerber .

When Ross was in a larger position, the entire exterior team improved as the atmosphere no longer had unbridled tension. While he only lasted a season, he was able to help guide his friend Ashton Pienaar to the Boson position the following charter season.

2 Wes O'Dell

'below deck' season 9.

Wes O'Dell is easily one of the most underrated personalities across the entire Below Deck Cinematic Universe. Wes had an immense ease about him. With the ninth season having some incredibly dramatic and tense moments, Wes was the calming presence that anchored the crew. Wes impressed Captain Lee Rosbach and First Officer Eddie Lucas with his strong skills on the deck.

Following the racist comment incident between Chief Stew Heather Chase and deckhand Rayna Lindsey , Wes was there to help mediate the situation. Many fans were shocked that Wes only appeared in a single season, believing he was a perfect candidate for a future management position.

1 David Bradbury

'below deck' seasons 1 and 3.

The first season of Below Deck kicked off the phenomenon that has thrived to this day. The first season's cast served as guinea pigs, balancing work and reality television. One of the most brilliant characters in the cast, David Bradbury was a good deckhand and kept to himself. For an industry that exposed the difficult balance of gender roles and sexuality, David was an out and proud gay man who didn't have to hide himself from his crew. David was everyone's best friend. His ability to get along with everyone helped make him a breakout star.

Part of his story included a surprise from his then-partner, one of the sweetest moments of the season. During Season 3's revolving door of crew, David came to the rescue toward the end of the season as a replacement deckhand. Fans were overjoyed to see him reunite with his Season 1 BFF, Eddie Lucas . Leave it to David Bradbury to be one of the few people to talk some sense into him while he was engaging his secret boatmance with Rocky Dakota . David Bradbury was a star from day one. Below Deck wouldn't be the same without him.
