HATTERAS M98 PANACERA

The all-new Hatteras M98 Panacera is everything you would expect in a Ward Setzer designed motor yacht from the elegant exterior lines to the contemporary inside layout. For owners looking to move up in the Panacera series from the M90 , the M98 is the logical step without the commitment of the 105 Raised Pilothouse . Hatteras believes the next generation of the Panacera will set a new standard for cruising and entertaining comfortably and in luxury. In a recent interview, lead designer Setzer described his goal for the project, "At the same time, they wanted the new boat to be equipped with larger MTU 16V 2600 diesel engines that would maximize its cruising speed, but maintain the legendary ride quality that Hatteras Yachts are known for. Ninety-eight feet was the magic number.”

The exterior of the M98 at first glance appears very traditionally Panacera with the curve of the flybridge line, the massive skylight, and long windows that line the main deck. Owners who wish to build their own M98 will have a choice between a completely open flybridge, partially enclosed bridge, and a fully enclosed bridge.

Designed for entertaining guests as well as cruising, the M98 has a seemingly endless list of superyacht features integrated into its platform. 

Exterior Entertainment

The open flybridge version features a spacious upper bridge, helm, and entertainment area. The hardtop is a stunning aesthetic feature, but also provides shade to the bridge and features an electrically opening skyroof. The upper helm has full controls, excellent sightlines, and two comfortable captain's chairs starboard. Portside has two more chairs as well as a staircase leading to the interior main deck. Aft of the helm is a large L-shaped sofa with two cocktail tables across from a full bar with 6 barstools. Overhead lighting and an exceptional sound system create a wonderful open air entertainment space. Guests will love the flybridge sun lounging area farthest aft on the bridge.

The bow lounge also takes full advantage of this space featuring two large lounges on either side of a pedastal cocktail table. Forward of one of the lounges is a large sunpad that can easily fit 2-3 guests. At a slow cruise, it's hard to beat this area for enjoying a drink or the scenery of passing boats. 

Shaded beneath the flybridge overhang is the stunning aft cockpit deck space. Built for outdoor entertaining with the amenities of the flybridge, it has everything you need to enjoy a meal al fresco. The large couch and dining table also have three chairs to comfortably fit 8-9 guests. Additionally, there is another wet-bar with three bar stools across from an outside staircase leading to the bridge. Two sets of teak staircases are on both side of the aft deck sitting area that lead to a beach club storage space for water toys.

Interior Social Areas

Upon entering the Hatteras M98 Panacera, the elements of space and light are abundant. The fixed, frameless windows with tinted safety glass line both sides of the salon, opening up exceptional views. The fabrics chosen for the interior are among the best quality and are soft in their color palette options. Owners have a choice in wood finishes between European walnut with satin finish or Sapele Mahogany.

Forward of the salon is the formal dining area which features a staircase to the bridge, a staircase to the lower deck accommodations, and a convenient day head for guests. The dining table seats 8, but custom furniture can be chosen for your dining arrangement preferences. Dedicated storage areas are implemented for your formal china, crystal, and flat-wear.

The formal dining area is placed in between the salon and a beautiful country kitchen, a signature design element from the Panacera series. A U-shaped couch and table offer an informal place to enjoy a meal with friends and the chef, while the overhead skylight enhances the ambiance. The galley is well-equipped with the finest appliances available to provide your guests with a truly gourmet experience. A wine cooler in the galley also comes standard.

Luxurious Accommodations

The M98 Panacera features a four stateroom layout, however an optional VIP suite can be added forward on the main deck if additional accommodations are desired for your entertaining needs.

The master suite is placed midship for optimal quiet and privacy. It also stretches the full 22' 6" beam for any amazing owner's space. The king-sized berth is center in the suite with storage underneath and two walk-in closets. Seating and work areas are port and starboard, but can certainly be customized to the owner's wishes. Aft in the owner's stateroom are separate doors leading to the owner's bathroom that features his-and-her vanities and toilets, with a shared shower in the center.

A VIP suite is placed forward in the bow and is nearly as spacious and luxurious as the master. The queen-sized berth is centerline with storage, closets, a private head, and portholes for excellent ventilation. Two additional guest suites are port and starboard, can feature bunks or a full-sized berth, and each have their own private head.

Crew accommodations are aft and feature 2 staterooms, 2 heads, and a utility space with galley and lounge.

Systems On Board

The standard engine package on the Hatteras M98 Panacera are twin CAT C-32A 1,600 BHP diesel engines with digital engine monitoring. While this propulsion choice will do just fine, owners do have several engine options offered by Hatteras. These include:

• (2) CAT C-32A 1,800 BHP or 1,900 BHP engines
• CAT 360 Joystick Control System (available only with the C-32A 1,900 BHP engines)
• (2) MTU 12V-2000 1,920 BHP diesel engines
• (2) MTU 16V-2000 2,600 BHP diesel engines

The air conditioning system in the M98 is important, particularly if cruising or entertaining in warm weather. to ensure the comfort of your guests, the M98 is equipped with three 5-ton chilled-water air conditioning systems with reverse cycle heating and soft-starting AC compressors. HVAC controls are installed in all staterooms, crew area, the salon, and galley.

An 820 gallon fiberglass water tank comes standard along with one 50 gallon and one 30 gallon 240 volt hot water heaters. There is a 420 gallon fiberglass holding tank with deck plate and 24V overboard discharge pump. There is a fresh-water wash down outlet (and shower) on the hydraulic swim platform, bow deck, flybridge, and engine room.

Additionally, the M98 Panacera comes standard with the proprietary HattCON system which allows the captain and owners to monitor/control all of the systems on board easily and efficiently. Bering Yachts introduces new 24m catamaran model BC80 with two configurations

Turkish shipyard Bering Yachts has announced a new 24-metre catamaran model known as BC80 at this year's Cannes Yachting Festival.

The yacht is the largest in its class at 24 metres and is joined by the 18.9-metre BC60 and the BC70, which measures 21.3 metres. Owners can choose between two layouts: the flybridge version and the solar-powered version.

The first has been billed as a "more classic yachting experience", featuring an expansive 82-square-metre flybridge and 1,000 square feet of solar panels which can generate over 20kW of energy on a sunny day. The yacht can then remain at anchor for extended periods without relying on generators.

Meanwhile, the solar-powered version is suited to "the environmentally conscious adventurer", with a massive solar panel array, high-capacity lithium-ion battery bank and a state-of-the-art "kick-saving" system. This system significantly reduces generator dependence and allows guests to enjoy silent cruising for up to 24 hours without running the generators.

The BC80's impressive interior volume is aided by an expansive 10.8-metre beam, giving guests the "ultimate three-decker experience" with a spacious main deck with 2.4 metres of headroom, a dedicated upper deck with flybridge option, and a comfortable lower deck. In terms of accommodation, owners can choose between four, five or six cabins with the option of a master suite on the main deck.

The standard layout features a galley positioned forward on the main deck, while all guest accommodations are located in the sponsons (hull extensions) for extra privacy and reduced noise.

Powered by a pair of Volvo Penta engines, the yacht will reach top speeds of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 10 knots.

This follows the news that the steel hull of its 39.5-metre B125 model had been transported from Istanbul to Antalya ahead of outfitting . Delivery is anticipated for September 2024.
