Parking information

• During the summer (May through August), the parking lot next to the boat is unavailable all day on Fridays due to scheduled events. Please use the alternate parking lot at 919 Ala Moana Blvd. Guests booking tours on Fridays should allow extra time for parking and walking to the harbor.

Overall rating

This sunset sail is outside of Waikiki. We loved the 2-hour cruise and opted for the open-bar option. The catamaran was pretty spacious and is a docked catamaran (walk right from the pier to the boat) instead of a beach ... catamaran like many of the Waikiki ones. The crew was really friendly. Would recommend getting the souvenir cup! It comes with a lid so you don't spill your drink when it gets a little windy and makes a fun souvenir.

Great view, amazing service, and great customer service. I highly recommend for couples looking to relax and enjoy the ocean with a few drinks.

We had a wonderful trip, saw whales, and .... manta rays coming and going! Knowledgeable captain and marine biologist made this an informative and exciting experience. Thank you!

Our Captains

Our senior Captain, Brad has been sailing in Hawaiian water since late 1980s. His passion for racing sailboats lead him to earn Captain credential. Makani has been a special boat, performing like no other catamaran in Hawaii, with the concept of combining Grand Prix sailing with charter boat comfort, Makani gives an unforgettable ride.

Captain Cristina has been working for over 10 years. She shares her lifelong love of the ocean with new and different people everyday. She loves being connected with nature, working in the sun and in the beautiful oceans. She is able to use what nature gives her to create a memorable experience for people.

Makani Catamaran sailing team, from the captain and deck hands, to the bartenders, and land operations agents.  An array of personalities, yet equally enthusiastic about their career at Makani, this crew strives to make guest experiences as exciting and memorable as possible.
